Crystal stared at the figure before her skeptically. The men had been dispatched with nary a ripple in the crowd around them, exactly what she needed-little attention drawn to her. Why would an armored warrior come to her aid though? She recalled stories of the mandolorians but knew little about them. At least that was one thing she remembered clearly. Her eyes narrowed as she traced the feeling of concern that had been heavy in the air to this individual. Interesting.
I'm fine. Who are you supposed to be? Crystal spit the words almost caustically at the armored one before rethinking her approach. Smiling slightly, she reached for her mental armor. I appreciate the help but find myself a bit puzzled by the reason behind it. This one intrigued her. She didn't have time to be distracted but perhaps there was a hidden blessing from what had befallen her.

*The young man removed his helmet and tucked it beneath his arm. His face bore all seriousness, but his light brown eyes softened, regardless of her caustic tone.*
"A concerned citizen. I don't think I'm catching you at your best...am I?" *The beginnings of a grin ghosted across his face, lips quirking to betray his amusement in her.

Despite herself, Crystal found herself smiling slightly at him in return. Or perhaps that was a snarl. She'd never been good at niceties.
"I appreciate the concern. Most would have ignored the scuffle or else joined in." Crystal stood up straighter, back screaming in protest at the man's words. "it's been a long day, you could help by directing me to the nearest docking bay." Crystal weaved on her feet, suddenly feeling too cold and light. All she wanted was to get off the streets and figure out how to get off this planet.

*Adonias shook his head and 'tsked' at her.*
"My, my...you are a stubborn one, aren't you?"
*The young Mandalorian, frowned softly at her*
"I can tell you are more than capable of handling yourself...but it's okay to ask for help once in a while, yes?"
*Not waiting for her response, he gently motioned for her to follow him off the main drag and next to a vendor who had a small cafe setup with tables and chairs. Gesturing for her to sit, he wasted no time in pulling out his first aid kit. Without touching her, he scanned her over for injuries with his HUD.*
"My name is Adonias. Now I'm not a master healer...but I know enough to treat what plagues you. You have a sprained ankle and a concussion, for starters. Tell me, where else does it hurt?"
*Rummaging through his med-kit, Adonias pulled out a couple of bacta patches and a soft roll of firm gauze. He hesitated in treating her, his own doubts about whether she wanted him to help her or not, bleeding through the Force.*

Crystal found herself sitting almost without realizing it, something that startled her more than anything else that had happened since she had woken. She didn't typically allow others to lead her around.
"Adonias. I only have a few injuries, nothing a bit of bacta can't help." Crystal motioned to her ankle and sat quietly allowing him to help. "I feel as though we were meant to run into each other. Who are you?" She leaned into the force as she asked who he was. She wanted a real answer, no mystery or veiled meaning. It was slowly coming back to her, her time spent having it beat into her in how to manage the force to increase her power.

*He set to work on mending her injuries after she gave him permission with a simple gesture towards her proffered ankle. Using a gentleness that belied his earlier demonstration of force, Adonias sprayed a numbing medication that would also help bring the swelling down. Then he applied a bacta patch over the sprain and carefully wrapped it with the firm gauze that hardened minutes after binding it. What she said, gave him pause. He seemed frozen to the spot and could only stare at her through the T-slit visor of his helmet, thankful that the lady couldn't really see his bewildered expression. Feeling as though the silence was dragging on for far too long...and feeling a little more than compelled to answer her question, he figured honesty would be the best policy.*
"You really believe our meeting is destiny?" *When she didn't immediately answer, he laughed.* "Sheesh...you are starting to sound just like my twin sister," *The young man snorted at the irony as he handed a pain reliever packet to the mystery woman he'd inadvertently saved.* "Well...I was born on Mandalore. Though to be completely honest, I'm more dar'manda than Mando'ade." *Seeing her clear confusion, he further explained.* "A dar'manda is a Mandalorian who has lost his or her identity and heritage. While wearing this armor is my birthright...I still feel at times that I haven't earned it yet. Unlike my sister..." *He trailed off sounding slightly bitter. He normally didn't open up like this to strange women he'd just met, but there was something about this lady he just couldn't put his finger on. Maybe it was a good thing? He usually trusted his feelings. Most days his feelings were never wrong.*
"Go easy walking on that ankle. As for the spaceport, it's not that far. Do you have a means of transport waiting there?"

Crystal watched the man closely as he spoke. Images bloomed in her mind and she wasn't sure what she saw, everything flashed through her mind quickly as if they were sensations from the past rather than visions. A cool wind, a misty day, childish laughs and chants filtering through the trees. A boy and girl ran hand in hand, the girls dark braids streaming out behind her and she fought to keep up with her... brother?
The sensations faded quickly and Crystal was able to catch the rest of what Adonias was saying. "I don't know. I'm not sure exactly what planet I'm even on. As for destiny, everything comes full circle. There's always a reason for everything." Crystal gave a nod of thanks as he finished his healing administrations. She sat a few seconds longer as she looked over the figure before her. He was a puzzle. "Why in the world do you not let yourself feel worthy? You seem to possess warrior skills, healing abilities, and even the ability to ascertain whether it is time to fight or heal. What more do you have left to do to prove worthiness?"

*Adonias canted his helmeted head and hummed in wonder, asking incredulously.*
"You don't know what planet you are on?"
*The young man knew his shocked expression was lost behind his visor. Not wanting to make her feel too uncomfortable as the silence began to stretch, he cleared his throat and pulled a small penlight from his utility belt, his voice not at all mocking. If anything, his concern merely tripled.*
"We are currently on the planet Agamar, in Calna muun city. Kriff... you must have hit your head harder than either of us thought." *Even though their was an amused, albeit brief, undertone to his voice, the young Mando couldn't help but very gently, re-examine her head wound, taking the situation VERY seriously. After flashing a penlight across her pupils, he frowned with a soft groan.*
"Haar'chak! That concussion has triggered a form of retrograde amnesia! Do you at least remember your name and where you are from?" *He asked, all amusement absent from his voice this time as he continued to gently prod her sore head.* "I need you to be truthful with your answers, or else I won't be able to determine just how mild or severe this amnesia of yours is." *He chose to ignore her prodding questions, taking priority over her well-being. Answers could come later.*
(Mando'a Translation: Haar'chak! = Dammit!)

Crystal blinked irritably at the light flashing in her eyes. "No, I woke up and encoutered you. I've traveled to a few different planets but this one does't seem terribly familiar and I have no idea how I arrived." Crystal felt anxiety build in her chest like a coiled spring. The feeling was an old friend to her, she knew that instinctively. What could she remember? She knew her name was Crystal Spire, she knew she had felt much sadness and pain in her life, she knew that she had a connection to an otherworldly ability. Crystal closed her eyes tightly and breathed in and out slowly. She tuned out everything around her and the individual noises slowly dropped away like she was shedding a second skin. Silence met her in her mind. She sat cross legged in that dimension and her earthly body mirrored her as well in the chair. In her mind's sanctuary, Crystal wore dark robes and a hood shrouded her face. She heard the thrum of a lightsaber, shouts of fear, and the delicious thrill of the hunt crept into her slowly. The connection built slowly but ever so much stronger. It was there, it was always there, the power and companion she had always had despite everything.
Crystal's eyes flew open and she sprung out of her cross legged position into a stand. "I remember enough. My name is Crystal and the past doesn't matter. I am headed back to Dathomir. I have some unfinished business there." Crystal stared straight into the man's eyes covered by his helmet, positively vibrating with the connection to the force she had re-established.

*Adonias sat as though petrified but in all truth, was a bit stunned by her sudden outburst. He could also feel a connection with this woman. Eyes widening, the young Mando realized that he was sensing the force, both around Crystal and within himself. Though the young man had to admit, he didn't know much about the Force. The one thing he didn't know how to do was control his "emotional outbursts"...and by that, Adonias visibly flinched as a memory resurfaced from several years earlier.
He was a young teen, about 13 years of age. The pirates that had kidnapped him from his home had been abusive from time to time. They never laid a hand on him again after what he unintentionally did...he'd been SO angry!! He felt a hatred welling within his heart. Sick of the verbal, emotional, and physical abuse they heaped on him...forcing him at gunpoint to leave his family behind, forcing him to do criminal deeds that went against his own moral center, forcing him to live a life that was never his own,...he released an enraged scream at the top of his lungs with tightly shut eyes as the Force built up both within and around him.
"STOP IT!! LEAVE ME ALONE!! I HATE YOU!!"
A young Adonias was unable to control the terrifying aftermath as his Force repulse sent the pirates flying into the walls, knocking most unconscious. Perhaps that was a mercy, because every single one of their weapons were lifted up by an invisible force, pointed directly at them, and---*
"NOOOOOO!!" *Adonias returned to himself and felt his cheeks flush from embarrassment to find that his outburst made a few people passing by, stop and stare at him. He was standing on his own two feet again, leaning heavily on the tabletop with shaking arms, looking for all intents and purposes like he was about to collapse. Shaking his head and struggling to regain his composure, he took a few steps back and stared stonily at the ground. He responded with a soft voice that nearly cracked from the emotional strain. That flashback had hit him like a wrecking ball...*
"The past will always matter...Crystal."

Adonias' strong reaction stunned Crystal. She had been so wrapped up in her own emotions and rememberings that she hadn't reached out to him via the force at all. The young man's loud shout gutted her as it echoed a nightmare she had woken from too many times. She had no idea what had caused such a reaction in the man but she power she had felt radiating from him during the intense brief moment still called to her. He had a connection to the force as well. Now that her mind wasn't so clouded, she could feel the strength in Adonias. Whatever vision or memory that had plagued him and left him drained hadn't diminished his pure abilities. An idea blossomed in Crystal's mind.
"Come with me. Your past may haunt you but my future calls to me. As I said, I have unfinished business and It seems that business may include you as well." Crystal drew herself up, standing tall. She was dressed in threadbare black canvas pants and a black form fitting top but despite the inelegance she had a certain ominous aspect to her bearing. "I sense you have more to you than even you might think. Do you seek control?" Crystal gazed dispassionately at the man, awaiting his reply.

*Feeling slightly creeped out, he began to distance himself from her, hand instinctively straying to his knife hilt, still sheathed and strapped on his right thigh. He wasn't sure how he knew...but he just did...he knew this woman had great potential to be a very real threat. What the hell had he gotten himself into? *
"Oookaaay....Nice meeting you Crystal. Good luck with your mission but I can't see myself tagging along with someone who can--" *He snapped his mouth shut. He felt increasingly insecure and didn't want to admit to this dala, that she had practically read his mind. Of course he desired control! Control so he could never unintentionally kill another living being again. He felt he was a danger to his twin sister, Telarial...which is why he kept his distance from her.*

Crystal was in her element. Subterfuge, stealth, manipulation; those were the skills she had built over the years beneath the tutelage of her master. She smiled widely, for the first time, at Adonias.
"I possess the key to learning control. Perhaps you are aware, you have a connection to power greater than some may have? I was forged in a fire as I aged and know the ways to learning both control and mastery of that power. I can ensure you are no longer an unwilling carrier of the force, but a master over it as you command it's capricious ways."
Knowing better than to push as the man distanced himself, Crystal half turned. "If you have no interest though, take your leave and may you find the worthiness you crave."

*Her wide grin looked very akin to a firaxen shark, the kind of predatory 'I have you now', expression. Even though every fiber of his being was screaming at him not to indulge this obviously manipulative woman, and to just turn around and walk away...her offer was too good to pass up. This was the chance he'd been waiting for. To finally be able to control and hopefully prevent any further 'accidents' from happening. Finalizing his decision he nodded slowly in acceptance.*
"Perhaps you are right. Maybe we can help each other. Come...my ship is docked in the spaceport a few blocks away," *The mandalorian gestured for her to follow him and began to walk through the parting crowd, a little proud that once again, people were clearing a path for him through the bustling city streets.*

Crystal followed the mandalorian closely, pleased and finally feeling as though she was on sure ground. She knew where to go, how to get there, and exactly what she was going to do along the way. This man was easy to read. He may end up not enjoying the experience but she would make sure he ended up with all the power and control he could have ever hoped for. Her thoughts drifted back to how young she had been when she first started her quest for power. It was always sought as a tool to help those one loves but the journey sometimes twists a soul. Her lips quirked bitterly. She had been so young and naive. Adonias reminded her a little of herself. He was so noble. At least, he was now. At one point, so had she been as well.
She forced her thoughts forwards. Dathomir was her goal. That was the last location she could remember being and where a majority of her training took place. Crystal dodged through the crowds closing behind the man, the people weren't as impressed with a road weary woman as they were an armored warrior. The spaceport loomed closer and she quickened her pace, eager to move on now that she had a goal in mind.

*When the two of them finally reached his landing bay, Adonias was pleased to see that the port official ensured that his ship The Star Runner had been well maintained and refueled. In fact, it was already prepped and ready for takeoff. Pushing a button on his gauntlet, the canopy opened. Climbing into the pilot's seat near the nose of the ARC-170, he looked back expectantly at the woman.*
"Well? Are you coming or not?"
*The young man didn't tell her that the passenger seat had been heavily modified and retrofitted into a single sleeping cabin. He'd had the foresight to convert the large cargo hold, since there were times when he could not afford a hotel. Still...there was a part of him that still retained that old mean streak he'd had in his youth. He had a very strong feeling that despite how much he'd done already to help her, the couth lady was no doubt using him, perhaps even for a nefarious purpose. He didn't trust so easily. There were a couple of times when a supposed damsel in distress turned out to be far more than meets the eye. Adonias remained heavily guarded as he waited expectantly for her to take the aft passenger/gunners seat right behind him.*

Crystal was breathing hard by the time they reached the landing bay. It had been a long walk with her battling crowds, her injuries, and the headache nipping at her heels. She couldn't remember a time when simply being alive had been so difficult and she didn't like the feeling. Stopping in her tracks, she stared at the ship before her. It was an excellent craft and well outfitted. The force was truly with her.
"I wanted to thank you for what you've done." Crystal looked up at Adonias and stared intently at him with a serious expression on her face. She let her expression soften and was surprised to realize that part of her meant the words. Subterfuge all began with kind words a smile, she knew from experience over the years. "I wasn't in a good position back there, I'm not used to that nor am I used to accepting help. I won't forget the debt." Crystal lowered her voice, murmuring the words almost without meaning to say them. "You did what no one else has done for me."
Then, letting the anger, frustration, and bitterness fuel her, she climbed quickly into the passenger seat. Joining Adonias in his ship felt like entering a dark cave. Crystal shuddered as the ghostly echoes of the force licked at her mind. She vowed not to underestimate this individual she was traveling with.

*Adonias gently dipped his head as he replied, no doubt a Mandalorian honor display to express his sincerity.*
"Think nothing of it. I guess I was in the right place at the right time."
*The young man couldn't stop a stray thought from flitting through his troubled mind as he sized up the formidable looking woman behind the mask of his T-slit buy'ce. I just hope it never turns out that it was the wrong place at the wrong time...*Once she was seated behind him, he lowered The Star Runner's canopy and without further delay, took off up into the sky above. As they flew out beyond Agamar's orbit, his concern for the lady's exhausted and disheveled state, prodded him to reveal a guarded secret about the passenger 'cabin'.
"If you are tired, that seat you are sitting in lowers down into a rather comfortable bunk in the cargo hold. Just flip the small red lever in front of you. I'm setting a course for Dathomir."
*After they traveled beyond the gravity well of the planet's orbit, Adonias punched in the coordinates and then activated the hyperdrive. In seconds, the starry expanse of space turned into bright, streaking light. Setting the ship on autopilot, Adonias reclined in his pilot's chair, thinking silently to himself.*

Crystal ran through the darkness, feet pounding and lungs aching. She ran and ran with no goal before her but to escape what was behind her. A roar rang out from behind her and she increased her speed. she slipped around a tree, skidded on loose dirt and almost lost her footing. Thankfully she recovered in time to keep moving. The roar sounded again, not as muted this time. Crystal shed her flowing robes as she ran until she was in nothing but her training undergarments. The night air was clear and with no cloud cover, it was easy to see. She continued to run and finally left the tree cover behind, only to realize she was trapped. She came to a stop on the edge of a cliff overlooking a ravine. There was no way across and before she could even think to attempt a jump, the beast following her burst from the trees, snapping a few at the base like they were nothing more than twigs. The beast was tall, nearly fourteen feet tall with teeth larger than Crystal's hand. It was a young bull rancor, ready to defend it's territory and Crystal was in the wrong spot thanks to her master's whims. "Defeat the worst monster, little one, and then we will take the next step." Crystal rolled her eyes mockingly as she remembered her master's words. She was twenty one years old and definitely not little. And then the rancor charged and she let all thoughts slip away besides the next instinctive move. She took a running leap, touched down on the bull's shoulder as he passed and then landed behind it while barely dodging it's slashing horns This bull was smart, it had tried to snag her out of mid air. With a bellow, it whirled on her as she touched down and nearly succeeded in grabbing her in it's large clawed hand. Crystal danced out of the way, light on the balls of her feet. With a practiced move, she withdrew her lightsaber and with a press of a button, sent the yellow blade into the air. Nothing could challnge her. Swinging the lightsaber around a few times to warm up, she continued to dodge the creature's massive hands while drawing on the force to off set her exhaustion. The bull rancor was young but only had a certain amount of energy, Crystal sliced cleanly through a thick claw. The bull roared and lashed out more quickly than Crystal anticipated, throwing her twenty feet back into a tree. Crystal grunted at the impact as all the air left her lungs and a few ribs crunched. With a snarl, she leapt upon the charging beast and stabbed it through the eye while melting it's brain matter. The beast collapsed and Crystal stepped neatly off onto the grass that cushioned the sound of it's falling body. This was the best the planet had to offer? She scoffed. She was wasting her time.
Out of the shadows surrounding the clearing on the cliff, stepped a shadowed figure. Crystal bowed her head and dropped to one knee. Her master. The figure spoke, voice echoing on the clear night. "You are still so sightless. You have anger and fear, but you do not embrace them. Your arrogance leaves you vulnerable rather than strong." Crystal looked up, shocked at his words after expecting praise. Blue lightening engulfed her and she spasmed, body falling to the grass. She writhed in agony, a nearly soundless scream leaving her throat.
Crystal shot bolt upright in the bed, heart pumping and body slick with sweat. The dream had been too real. She could swear she still smelled the burning of her flesh and feel the crackle of pain through her spine. The last thing she remmbered was flipping the small lever in front of her that Adonias had gestured towards. She must have passed out. She sighed. Her master had been cruel but thorough. This trip to Dathomir was long over due. She settled back into the bed to hopefully sleep wihtout dreams and desperately hoped that the man close by hadn't noticed her disturbed sleep.

Calna Muun continued to prosper, despite the division between Mandalorian and Imperial administration. The laws did their best to be equal if an individual worked in an Imperial-controlled sector, but lived in a Mandalorian one. Supervision was largely mixed between Protectors and Stormtroopers who shared responsibilities and took over areas, temporarily, so that another department could focus on incidents or needed to cycle men for shifts. Overall, it was a model world for one being divided between Imperial and Bralor Mandalorian. This relation was highly sought by the Imperials to be kept strong. In fact, the Emperor even thought of sending his son, Octavian, on a diplomatic mission to the Mandalorian homeworld in the hopes of gaining a larger net of alliances and treaties.
