Was going to see if it'd be better to wait until things got a little further along so as to not disrupt anything and let you guys finish things out. I'll go with whatever you guys think is best. Knowing it through the Blackguard would be the best and simplest way for Gavin to know. Finding it out, he'd put his classes on hold and make a quick trip there, eager to see what's going on.

I mean, that certainly works as well. Mariah is a little inundated with NaNo I believe, so waiting till we get things moving along properly IC further might be good. I’m sure you’re in no hurry to go anywhere

I am also looking forward to seeing what spawns off of the revival of the DJO...and it certainly has the potential to make things...interesting....

So, a curious question that might not need answering, but the Blackguard would have the equipment to forge synthetic crystals correct? And where would they be located? Here soon, Luxeria will bleed one of the crystals from her trophy lightsabers to use for her original lightsaber gifted to her by her first master to use on assassination missions that keep her identity hidden. But through this, and her study of lightsaber technology and crystals, she has decided to craft a lightsaber using this technique, if only to complete the circle of crystal gathering as well as to see for herself the suggested mastery of the Force that comes with doing so.

Are we blending old and new cannon? Cause synthetic crystals became crystal bleeding... when that Vader comic first introduced the idea and then rebels supported it?

According to Wookiee, the synthetic crystals are no longer a canon thing. They became a Legends thing.
shrugs
I dunno. Canon and Legends can be confusing some times...

JvS is a blend of canon and legends stuff.
And what sort of non canon tech?

I was under the impression that Legends was just as much canon for us on this site as the new canon lore was. Otherwise, that does certainly eliminate a lot of what we normally utilize.
And bleeding crystals by what I gather is an entirely different process than synthetic crystals as bleeding is the corrupting of a crystal already tuned to another, typically a light sider while synthetics were crafted from scratch in a special furnace as was done by Maul and Luke. For that reason as these things were done before the new trilogy, I don’t see why that was even considered legends anyway.

The whole point was that it wasn't explained how so and so got their crystal... so someone before made up synthetic crystals as an answer. It stuck... was used in a book or two, but was never made cannon. Disney answered the question in a Canon way, and so it took away all the half answers before and introduced bleeding as an answer.
but I agree with Lux... we cant rule out legends or half of us would be SOL on half hour powers and story lines. So if you want to have a synthetic crystal go right ahead. I for one would love to see what you do with it!

For Lux, not much other than having a fourth saber/spare saber. Her entire point for it is showing her mastery of the Force. But there are plans for a couple others to create them for use in primary lightsabers.

I mean the site has already placed rules on what crystals can and can not do... its not going to be like Force Unleashed where you can make a crystal do certain things, or make you stronger in the force. So what does it matter if they find it laying in some cave, or make it in a lab... its all about the story.

Legends have never been ruled out though, only the stuff that is very much OP or could cause issues with players creating unbeatable characters.
We accept some things in Canon, such as the Resurgent-class SD, but I know we banned a new tech from Canon which involved a powerful tractor beam that could bring down ships ten times the size of the vessel utilizing it. I.E. a warship known as the Starhawk-class which was around the size of the ISD took down an Executor-class at the Battle of Jakku with this tractor beam.
I believe the Whills are doing a massive rule overhaul that may result in some significant changes and help define things. Perhaps, it would be best to post your question to the RPA and see what they think if you feel you need an answer, Lux.

Disney Canon and Legends are both acceptable to use on JvS. As Malvus explained, some things have been nerfed out of necessity, but for the most part, everything else is fair game. So bleeding lightsaber crystals is perfectly acceptable. As is using synthetic crystals.

Overpowered, but actually saw a video on that battle explained on how the star hawk was capable of that. It only effectively brought it down while it was crashing due to the SSD’s engines being shot out. Seeing that I was all like, "that sounds familiar."
But I’m not worried about yea or nah, just wanted to know if the equipment was available within the Blackguard. Do have plans for a character to create one that overly powerful and unstable, but only to give some semblance of a reason to use a cross guard saber, to which the extra vents would keep it from overloading the saber and make it usable and stablish.

I mean... that still sounds kind of overpowered when the ship, using the tractor beam, is going down and still able to drag an Executor with it. It's just considering that the example was used in a situation where the vessel was handicapped, there are other possibilities if there is an instance where a ship of that size isn't inoperable and the tractor beam may still be viable for usage.

I mean... Its space... ships do not have Mass or Weight in space. if the engines were not working then a tractor beam on any ship would have been able to move it. Just like the battle over Skariff when the Hammerhead Corvette crashed the SD into the planetary shield when it was disabled by the ION cannons. That isn't over powered, thats just understanding science.
Also Kylo's cross guard saber was the sloppiest construction imaginable...

Yeah... so, just to clear up any confusion on this matter: JvS exists and operates in Legends Canon. It's that reason, that we have everything we do. We merely adopt anything from Movie/Disney Canon that does not directly contradict or interfere with Legends. So you're all good there.
BUT, to answer your actual original question: I;d imagine crystal forges could be found at both of the Blackguards HQ's (the training academy and the obelisk).
Also, arguably, I would have to agree with Lux and Vasari on this one. I mean, if the SSD is disabled and basically falling anyway, a tractor could affect it. Really the only thing normally stopping a ship from being tractor beamed, is the engines being active and strong enough to resist what ever is trying to tractor beam it...
