He had seen nothing to indicate thus far she was untrustworthy or anything like those whom had experimented upon him, had she not rescued him and seen he received medical aid he would no doubt have died. However that did not mean she didn't have an incentive to offer her services further, that said he could gain from this too and for the first time he was being offered not just training but understanding and a means to control this power which he knew little of or about. He knew some of the feats he had achieved but not how, not really.

Whether he agreed to training or not, did not have any particular affect on her. She had no real stake in the man's future beyond the offer she made to him. If he had said no and walked out, she would not have stopped him. But even so, a part of her was somewhat pleased that he had agreed to stay and be trained by her. She relaxed her posture a bit more and walked around the man, her carapace heel like spikes clicking against the floor as she examined him
Numbers and designations are for stormtroopers and slaves... You are neither one... But what name to give you...

He watched her beady eyed and alert, the tension would be clear in his stance and palpable in the force it would indeed take some measure of time for him to learn to trust, perhaps he would never fully trust anyone, which at the very least may help keep him alive if nothing else.
He watched, his head turning as she paced around him the repetitive cracking of her footwear almost beating in time with his heart, as he watched her and she surveyed him he asked.
"How does one normally acquire a name... on what basis are they given or decided?"

Eris hummed in acknowledgement, thinking for a moment as she turned her gaze from the man even as she continued to slowly pace around him. Considering the question for a moment
There are many ways in which one acquires a name... Most are given at birth by their parents... Others receive them upon a rebirth... The Sith taken upon themselves new names when they attain Darth-hood, crime lords use titles and pseudonyms to hide their true identities when operating legitimate businesses on the side... I received my name when The Fallen elevated me to the rank of Twilight Mage in recognition of my growing skills and power. A name is a thing of power: it can inspire hope in your allies, or fear in your enemies...
She came to a stop in front of the man and turned her face side-wards toward him. Her gaze settling upon the man without a name
A name can be decided by you or be bestowed upon you by your master. It is up to you, how you want to be remembered by those you meet... Whether it is with fear or fondness...

He was almost mesmerised trance like by her repeated circles about his person. He shook his head as though clearing his mind and sharpening his senses, what she said was new to him and interesting, he could be or choose anything, but still the q question remained as to what to call himself regarding what Lady Eris had conveyed a name should at the least have a purpose and potentially a power behind it, so he wanted it to have a meaning but what.
"I will ponder upon this and come to you when I have found something fitting."
He would no doubt discover exactly who or what he was along his journey and then a name would come to him, until then he would not rush to make a poorly made decision in haste.

She gave a nod as her first student stated he would think upon a name to take and let her know when he settled on something
Very well... for the time being, I shall refer to you as Indictus, it means the unnamed...
Eris turned her fully toward Indictus then. With at least something to refer to the man by, it would make teaching him that much easier. By the time their training was at an end, he would have time to come into his own away from the people that had enslaved him
For your first lesson, I think it would be prudent for me to understand what you know of the power you have and what happened to you... That way I'll know where we need to start your training and what fundamentals you'll need to learn...

With the return of The Fallen, so too did it mean it mean the return of The Fallen Corps patrolling the Temple alongside the Ambria Defence Corps. Not to mention the myriad Sithspawn that made up the forces under the command of Lady Eris. Creatures that slithered along the paths and creatures that flew through the air, and even bigger beasts that could ram a tank.
Tribune Terrano certainly seemed to be happy to be back on Ambria in the Temple once more. It was home for him, and one he had helped build. Now he could help defend it once more

*Ronin's look of amusement fades as a stern look crawls across it and a raised eyebrow. He pulls his hood back over his head.*
**At last an introduction. He muses quickly.**
"Indeed. I am glad to make your acquaintance."
**Most unfortunate. It seems I am too late once again he chides himself.**
"Yes, it is unfortunate. Ifrit and I were never formally introduced to one another, we were in different circles but knew of each other. Our...Teachers were better acquainted than us."
*An offer to meet the successor make him nod in agreement.*
"I find this agreeable. I will meet with your leader."
*Ronin begins to walk forward with his hands behind his back, when Zaya gestures.*
"I would be delighted to share of my knowledge. After all, I have in my ship, all the archives from the Villa Obscurum. I believe they will be of use." |

*Ronin follows in tow, his hands cupped and overlapped behind at the elbows in a modified parade rest.*
**Ronin knew the scenic route was a delay tactic. He was no fool. Even as coy as she was, he wasn't fooled even for a second. He was a master of subtlety himself. After all, the most dangerous dagger didn't come from behind or in front. It was the dagger in your side coming from someone whom claimed to be your ally.**
*He makes no response or acknowledgement of the training rooms or dorms. He had seen many in his days.*
**Ronin didn't want to come off as annoyed, but he was a Count after all. He was entitled. Which meant because of his influence, he had access to many outlets of information. Depending on how this goes, will be extended to the DJO without question.**
"I am familiar with the Blackguard, and I know of Viox Savage. And, I know of their and his philosophies, as well. It was merely nothing but Sith propaganda. The teachings of the Sith are....a path to power but it only scratches the surface of passion and power. Never how to master it. It is flawed in it's dogma and offers nothing but eventual self-destruction."
**Ronin knew personally how tenets being followed can undo an order. As it did the last one.**
*When they stop in one of the training rooms, Zaya shows him the scrolls. He makes no show of outward emotion.*
"Codes and tenets are simple points of view. The Order I once belonged to followed the Code of Xendor. The reason that Order fell...was because of that code."
**The memories of how the Order fell come rushing back, but not in shame.**
"Zealotry has always been the downfall of many. Especially when arrogance clouds said zealotry. They believe themselves the true followers and adherents, when instead they sow division and intolerance."
*His posture remains firm and statue-like as he looks at the scrolls. Regal even.*
"That is what happened on Muunilist. Brother turned on brother over...belief. Belief is powerful, but command, emotion, strength, and conquest are but tools in the proper hands. Or destructive in the wrong ones. Control what others believe and guide it. That is how true power is wielded."
*Ronin turns his head to her. Slowly. Purposefully. *
"This is my purpose in coming here. To be a spiritual guide for the brothers and sisters here. To avoid the destructive path of the old guard. This is my offer to YOU. Should you accept my guidance, that is."
*Ronin turns his head back to the scrolls.*
"But I can only show that path, as it is up to you to walk it."

And what guidance would you give then, if you were to be asked? What is it that you would have us do?
She was curious to see how he would handle things. Whether he would see them do away such things, or would be making sure to guide members away from radicalised adherence and zealotry. She was still gauging just what place the Count would have amongst the Dark Jedi

"Do you not sense the power of the darkness within me?"
**Ronin allows her to sense what he's done over the decades of searching. Mastering himself without losing himself to the darkside.**
"Can you not sense that I have fully immersed myself in it without succumbing to it?"
**The Darkness of the Temple itself is allowed to cloak him, empower him. Without making him lose control and all out attack her.**
"This is the spiritual understanding that I have attained. I will steer those whom wish to learn, away from radicalization of indoctrination. Or cull those individuals, whom do not."
**The Count goes back to his normal power. Stopping the flow of darkness within him**
"As for what I would have you do? Use my knowledge. Leading the Dark Jedi is your role, such decisions I leave in your capable hands."

She felt the darkness within her stir, ready to leap into action should it need to protect her as Ronin conducted his display. Just as it stirred, so too was it dismissed with ease. One last gift from her former Master to help her in her journey forward.
She was certainly impressed with his credentials, with his display backing up his words. Few, if any, Sith could immerse themselves in the darkness without losing control of themselves. And it seemed unlikely he was a plant by the Sith in an attempt to sabotage the Dark Jedi. It seemed more and more likely he was being genuine. Such a boon to the Order could not be easily passed up. He certainly seemed to have discerned her true role within the Order, so there was little need to continue acting otherwise
It is one thing to sense something, and another entirely to test a physical manifestation... You are right that leading the Order in the right direction is up to me. We are certainly in need of fresh blood, so to speak, to renew our strength. You would be a valuable asset if you still wish to join us?

*Ronin's sinister smirk dances playfully across what little is exposed from under his hood.*
**So, he was correct in his understanding. She was indeed the successor she alluded to introducing him. It seems his display worked. Years of research and study, coupled with sparing no expense of his nigh-limitless family fortune. Mastery such as Ronin's was only attained through discipline, while others simply sought it with selfish ambition. Multiple techniques where used and many instructors as well.**
"Forgive my display, but power perceived is power achieved. I sensed words would never sway you, unless I could audition my knowledge in such a grandiose fashion. I admit it is quite....pretentious. But, it is only arrogance if one cannot back it up properly."
**Thus, he had every intention to honor those whom trained him by becoming the next Dark Jedi Sage.**
"I consider it an honor for you to offer me an opportunity to join. Something I gladly accept."
**After all, it would be completely foolish to pass on an opportunity to train the next generation of Dark Jedi. If the Lord Sovereign were still around, he would torment Ronin relentlessly for passing on such an offer. As if he could still here his old mentor's jovial laugh.**

There is nothing to forgive, come...
She lead the way out of the training room and continued the tour of the Temple, heading upwards through the various levels toward the Throne Room. It was always much nicer to walk and talk, especially with someone new. It would provide Ronin a chance to become familiar with the Temple's layout
The rank of Midnight Cardinal is one of four titles which we bestow upon those whom have attained mastery of their skills with a primary focus upon a certain area. Twilight Mages are masters of the occult and alchemical realms. Phantom Reapers act as spies and assassins, moving within the shadows. Void Knights are combat experts and are primarily in charge of our armed forces, known as the Crusaders. And Midnight Cardinals, like yourself, are those that excel in manipulation and politics. They are good indicators of where ones strengths lay most, though it certainly does not preclude individuals from studying across many fields...
It was certainly quite true that many of those of a Master rank within the Order did diversify their skillsets to augment their abilities. It was something Zaya encouraged, since a diversity of skills and knowledge could help present unorthodox solutions to problems

*Ronin continues to follow Zaya. Almost shoulder to shoulder with her but not quite, as he gives her just a little bit of the lead.*
**As she explains it, he understands the status and title that are awarded with recognition of mastery. Noting that it was almost reminiscent of the term given to those whom pass their trials the term Jen'Jidai. This amuses him. Especially, the term Midnight Cardinal. Mastery of politics and manipulation.**
"I see now. You honor me with that title my Lady. A fitting term for my position here. Politics are manipulations and vice versa. The perfect fit for Sage-like spiritual guidance."
**The pieces were falling into place nicely. After all, Ronin did enjoy a good game of Djarik. Putting pieces into position, feinting, counter-plotting were tools of his trade and he did enjoy playing and planning for the long-term.**
"As you no doubt would expect, I would like to interact with the other Masters. Keep them....within reach so to speak. Especially the Phantom Reapers. No manipulative politician worth their saber, would move without a good spy or assassin at their ready discretion."
*Ronin continues his stride. Hoping to see more of the Temple.*

I had a feeling it would be suitable. You shall serve as the first of the Midnight Cardinal's, allowing you the access you would require to fulfil your various duties and work. There are few Masters left, which should make your job easy for a little while. But I will be sure to send them your way. Keep an eye on the Dark Templar's and Dark Paladin's, they make up the bulk of our Order. There may be some promising aspirants for elevation.

Given the recent turmoil and changes, many of the rooms stood emptyI had a feeling it would be suitable. There are few Masters left, which should make your job easy for a little while. But I will be sure to send them your way. It is a problem I am all too well aware of...
At their height, the Dark Jedi had counted a number of Masters and Knights amongst their ranks. Unstable leadership over the last half a decade had seen many depart the Order for safer, surer shores. She hoped that her leadership would bring many of them back when they saw stability maintained. She kept leading the way up through the Temple to the fourth floor, where her own personal quarters and those of the Order's highest ranking members were allocated at her discretion. She lead the way to the Throne Room and through it up the staircases that flanked the Throne and to the Roof. It was a large flat area from which they could see the Mountains that the Temple was set into and the Canyon off to the South
Quality over quantity. I'd rather we elevate the right people for their skills instead of just for the sake of padding out numbers. Anyone who falls prey to greed is also unworthy of our ranks.
