On another note, I'd so far give people, who are observing our activities, may it be for curiousity or because of actual interest into the faction what has so far happened rp-wise and what will most likely await us for the future. People within the discord usergroup probably know already at where the plans so far are, but given newer story arcs, I assume that it might be a good step to share it on the website as well, since one could get the impression that we are "just another Sith faction", if it just comes to the name and our identities.
So far we
- made an alliance with the Blackguard, as Siths and Sorcerers have a common enemy within the forces of light
- introduced the Amphi-Hydrus, a race of darksider telepaths into our ranks, allowing them controll over Dac's administration and naval fleets
- took over Abraxin, from where we recruit Barabel mercenaries into the ranks of our armies; Abraxin will furthermore provide us more room for further experiments, hidden facilities and temples in order to strengthen the sorcerer cult and those, whom they worship
- laid siege to Jabiim, taking over the Monsoon Mesa while marching upon Choal to break the last resistance of a world, destined to provide the Dominion with more materials and armies in the form of droids
-have a cult spreading on Thyferra, which makes use of mutated Gungans who seek to summon forth their dark god (RP in cooperation with the Jedi and the CC)
Yet these steps are only the startup and given that Thyferra kinda shows quite well, how the terrors of the Dominion can be utilized, I would like to thank so far everyone inside and outside the Quarren Dominion, who supports the RP we have so far done. Utilizing the cthuloid elements of Star Wars in a way, where we can actually create a faction, that emphasizes these elements without looking too much out of place is a creative and fun challenge, where I'm glad that people are still interested, provide their personal feedback and interests while they help to form the faction as a whole.
Without you it would just be one Quarren Sorcerer doing his stuff and thus I'm grateful for the faction that has formed over all that time.
If it wasn't for you, I'd probably have given up on this faction project, so I really appreciate the support.
Thus, what might await us in the future of the Quarren Dominion, after Jabiim and when things got settled?
- Currently the Dominion is in a state, which I would call personally Phase I: The rise of mechanical horror in the form of massive dreadnaughts, potentially even a modified Subjugator cruiser as the Dominion pretty much means to make the Tarkin Doctrin look like an understatement. A look into our database also shows nicely the kind of vehicles and units we will utilize during our campaigns in order to get us a faction identity. As mentioned few posts ago, we will also include Aqua droids into our army frontlines, so there will be another Separatist remnant upon which our Great Overlords will trust.
However, things will become more organic in the future or so at least we hope them to be. Which will mean: Subjugated space creatures like Neebrays, organic ships like the ones of the Yuuzhan Vong, ships with massive tentacles sticking out of them... anything we can actually implement in agreement with the ruleset, as that one is my only concern. However, until we reach Phase II it will still take a lot of time. Phase I will stick around for a long time and stuff I'll explain later on will be most likely come in Phase I.
It should also be said, that I consider Phase II as "The Endtimes" or rather as "Things have grown so much in the Dominion that it can't be ignored by the rest of the galaxy anymore", so I really don't want to rush it. At least on the status quo and I might reconsider stuff written here, when we reach that point. ^-^'
- Depending on faction members (from the current count 6 active within the usergroup), we might expand up to 4 worlds to round up the current borders of the Quarren Dominion, as Lothal is pretty much bordering Mon Calamari on the galaxy map. I would consider an expansion around 8-10 members, as I'm not a fan of a small faction occupying more RP space of the galaxy than necessary, but it will depend on how things will go so far within the RP.
Even if it won't come this far, there is still the idea in the room, that we will recruit members from Lothal in order to form a Wolf Cult into which we will pretty much introduce thematic Sithspawn in the form of Werewolves, wolf-like humanoids and whatever fits the thematic. Forming a dark gang society under the surface of Lothal, where selfproclaimed werewolf hunters and witchhunters will rise in order to fight the spreading darksiders could potentially give the planet an interesting thematic - perhaps it could even escalate into some sort of Vampire VS werewolf rivalry where these feral cults have actual infighting in favor towards those, they worship.
- Cloning facilities: Yeah, we'll go down that path.
And yeah, we'll also include Spaarti cylinders to cause more madness.
As we maintain massive armies, droids and Mechu-Deru tricks alone won't solve the problem for our success, since we will waste a lot of armies on open field, sending unit after unit into the grinder until the Prophet and his beasts have gotten what they desired within their major plan to bring doom upon the galaxy. It's only logical that we'll have to clone soldiers at some point in order to replace those fallen.
Additionally it will also provide us more RP opportunities on Mon Calamari, as I can likely imagine scenarios, where we suddenly have clone serial killers passing through the streets, causing enough chaos among the public in order for the gouvernment to manipulate the entire situation in their favor.
- Slave trade: Not solely will we come at some point in contact with the Cartels and the Hutt Space in general, but as well utilize its worth - for as Mon Calamari is thirsting for more scum within their army. The future generations of Dominion Troopers might have seen solely the dry heat of a Hutt planet before they got enslaved and bought by mysterious men in robes, who would send them straight into the next port to get them recruited - a new future in an army awaiting them.
If there is interest by any criminal character out there, who has to deal with slave buiseness, we might join up there and enter the market. Due to the First Order's new decisions when it comes to slavery, the Quarren Dominion with it's shady buiseness might be a welcome trade partner.
- Raid on Felucia - the abduction of plant people: This idea is breeding since a while in my head and depending on how nicely the whole RP on Thyferra goes, I'd like to catch some new Poke obtain an enclave of Jungle Felucians in order to add more horrors to the beastiary. Could be a fun RP scenario, but this one is up to the Jedi Order on Felucia as well... the idea sounds nice and cool in my head, but I don't want to be the next Darksider on your list, who threatens and raids your domain unpunished.
- Journey into the Maw: A place as mysterious as many Sith and Jedi sites. Although I have no full plans for the territory itself nor lay claim on it, our sorcerers and ships will have peculiar interest into this region for several religious reasons. The Way of the Dark has not a blind eye on dark entities within the Force - and to one of them, once located there, the Sorcerers and the Prophet still pray for as they herald their return. Yet who knows what other horrors they might find.
- Tund: Part of our systems the Quarren Dominion will also launch expeditions to Tund in order to learn more about the Sorcerers there, to seek the madness to which once they were exposed for there awaits only eternal darkness those, who follow up the path of the Dark. As well we might use this planet as well for a few events here and there, even if Roleplay would have to be conducted on Open Hyperspace.
- Conflicts with the Jedi Lords: In the end the Quarren Dominion will need enemies to fight. Alongside the regular Jedi there is also interest in our fleets launching engagements against the Jedi Lords, the more militarized branch of the Jedi Order, as the conflict of Light and Darkness is what drives in the end most Star Wars expieriences. It will be fun to see those massive dreadnaughts of the Dominion carving their way through the enemy lines, while they find their end in bloody battles, some more successful than others. Overall I hope that some of the space battles will have a more alien-esque atmosphere for as the Dominion has a large majority of drop pods and ships, which prefer to breach through an enemy ship's hull in order to send in various monstrosities which will fight the crew aboard in direct combat. And inbetween the mad sorcerers who will take any chance to attack their opponent's mind in hopes to turn them.
Especially the Jedi and everyone willing to fight numerous monster hordes aboard a cruiser will have a lot of fun in these scenarios, as I imagine the space battles to look quite monumental and more dire.
If I recall there is interest from mentioned factions into these kinds of events, so I'll look forward them and hope that we can create a lot of fun battles out of this, no matter if in space, on land or somewhere else.
- Lots of mystery plots: In the end I can't plan for everything so I'm in for most stuff people suggest, inside and from outside our faction. Need a mad sorcerer, who really is more occult than traditional Sith Lords or Dark Jedi? Now that the Dominion has conquered the stars, we can make it possible, draw in the connections of some weird eldritch master plan, nobody really understands except for its mad creators. So far I've also seen interest there and would like to see more of it in the future.
Other than that I'll look forward other suggestions and hope that people got a better understanding of what expectations are out there so far from my side as a faction leader.
Of course nothing is finite and I'll always take the advice of other players here as well, since thought processes can change over time,
therefore I welcome further suggestions and of course critique on what I have presented up so far. Hope it's not too long for reading and has given people some insight what drives the faction so far OOC and what we might see IC one day as well, planned out smoother and potentially more interesting than presented here.
