Again a pulsating reddish hue.
"One must always learn language to conduct bussiness personally. Translators are an unnecesary and bothersome barrier between one dealer and another"
He waves a hand.
"I understand. I am afraid I am not quite so well-informed about your field of work; by definition you are secretive"
Ju'oda narrows his eyes.
"Sometimes, an efficient deputy can outlast a government, because they are firmly rooted in the structure and that, moff, is way harder to change or destroy, while higher offices are subjected to fickle fortunes and politics"
His marks now look pale. He was very confident talking now, his voice softer than ever.
"Oh, you flatter me moff"
Ju'oda didn't look flattered, he accepted the compliment. Clearly, he believed he was behind the system's prosperity.
"It is a relief to find like-minded moffs in this kind of meetings, Drav'ale-nuruodo"
He added, with a slight smile.

"We are fortunate to have a new Emperor who lives up his name. Many pretenders claimed the title unfruitfully and disgracefully in the last years"
The striations look pale.
"Of course. Resources is something I do not lack, nor do you see to lack information"
He looks at the Chiss with curiousity.
"Maybe... I think we both could collaborate. It would be in benefit of the Empire, of course"
And our mutual interests, of course.

I agree, we could do much to benefit it if we worked together.” The two would make a formidable pair. Naturally such an arrangement would benefit them as individuals as well as the Empire, and Valen was certain Ju’oda understood that when making his proposal.

Brock shrugs noncommittally to the older Knight as he chews more on his jerky. The emperor put out a soft announcement about my relation so I suspect most of those here already know. My guess is the vultures are just waiting to see if my status as the Emperor's bastard half brother makes me a desirable "friend" or if it means they should sneer at me and grumble. Not much I can do about that though so I suppose I will just enjoy my respite from the inevitable headache. Turning back to the other Knight in the conversation he realizes that in his own distracted state he had completely missed her addressing him when he had arrived. Sorry, I'm a bit distracted today. No as much as I'd like my armor I'm not attending as an Imperial knight and to show that I must present myself with blah blah blah blah blah. His tone shifts into annoyance at the end, clearly mocking a speech he got from the protocol officers a dozen or so times before the event. With his attention now on the other Knight he realizes she seems almost as uncomfortable as he felt. What's wrong? Still suffering from whiplash from the Emperor's punishment or just wishing you could attend as a guest rather than a guard? His tone was light and with a hint of a joke, he wasn't trying to tease her but just lighten the mood a little. He hadn't had a lot of opportunities to get to know the newer Knights since taking up the position of Steward and so he wasn't completely sure how to connect with them. Offering a faint and weak chuckle at Brock's joke, or at least the sentiment that it was meant to be a joke, Dah'lis shook her head. I'd rather not be here at all... She memmered as she caught yet another dirty look from a moff's wife. Perhaps then some of these people could enjoy themselves without worrying themselves about what the "nasty xeno is going to do." Noticing the woman was still scowling at her, Dah'lis rolled her eyes at the woman, and looked away. She was sure that was the wrong move to make politically, but at this point she didn't much care.

Benevolent she nodded, seeing the importance of this decision. The battle against the Galactic Alliance had been won, but smaller groups like the Corellian Coalition are already threatening the peace alongside the Empire's space alongside pirates and those fools within the Deep Core, who claim themselves to be Imperial, but haven't surrendered towards Emperor Delvardus rulership. Ignoring those threats could lead to the same hybris, which befell the old Galactic Empire under Tarkin. "If it benefits our military forces, you can count in my vote", she replied briefly, "We are stronger than ever before, but we can't allow ourselves to think that this peace will be upheld by public announcements and the presence of single Star Destroyers within our borders. Finding more efficient ways to maintain an expierienced army while reinforcing it constantly is thus one of our main priorities." "While there exist any that do not bend the knee to the Emperor, there will be something more to do. My job is to convince those that are reasonable... Yours is to break those that are not. Yours is more difficult, so I look to aid where I can. Zahn had been making his way through the crowd, listening in upon various conversations. Noting who various people were and the topics they were seemingly interested in. But he was soon drawn to two women that seemed deep in conversation regarding recruitment and training methods. One was a silver haired woman he recognized as the newly promoted Grand Admiral Jenia Kaselle. The other was a blonde haired politician that he had not long ago been informed as the new Moff of Carida. A world which sat within the Kuat Oversector. He gave a bow to both women as he came to a stop near to themMoff Thule, Grand Admiral Kaselle... Congratulations to you both on your new appointments... I trust Moff Thule will ensure the Imperial Academy will ensure a steady stream of Stromtroopers to help ensure the peace across the First Order, and beyond, when the time comes once more to spread our influence across the stars...

"A noble task indeed", the Grand Admiral replied benevolent, "I wish you the best of luck on your mission, so-" Jenia stopped midtalk, as she noticed another person to join their conversation, non other than Grand Marshal Zahn himself. Although she hasn't met him until now, Jenia had heard from the man briefly. He was one, who had gained the Emperor's favor, rising quickly within the ranks of the First Order - thus she respected the man in front of her already, as not everyone was up to that task. So far remaining calm, she only nodded benevolent towards him, while allowing Standash to talk with him. For the moment she wasn't sure either if there was anything of interest, what Zahn could want from her, thus she played for the moment safe.

Brock's expression dropped from his attempt at humor as he realized what was going on. While the First Order had no official policy on non-humans a lot of the upper crust of Imperial Society came from older traditions and Xenophobia was still very much a part of their mindset. Having grown up with the Jedi on Corellia and then the Imperial Knights Brock hadn't been exposed to such blatant hatred and to this day couldn't understand it, but he definitely saw it. His face turned to a small sneer toward the greater party around them as those thoughts whirled in his head. As much as he wished to spare the Knight those glances running from them only gave them what they wanted, however there was another option. A smile returned to his face and a mischievous light made it's way into his brown eyes as he had an idea. "I release you from your post for the evening." His tone suddenly formal as he gestured toward the Knight who had been shadowing him all evening as his guard.. as if he actually needed one. "Clemson will take your post. You're going to get drunk with Knight Solomon and myself." Without fully realizing if either of them responded to his "order" Brock spun on his heels and made his way to the small bar that had been set up and ordered 3 shots of whatever was the strongest. Maybe tonight wouldn't be so bad after all.

And he had a considerable amount of that to sort through as it wasI'll make sure my people prioritize getting the proposal to my desk once they receive it... As for the trip over... It was uneventful. But a much needed break from some of my tedious tasks as a Grand Moff... Something I am sure Grand Admiral Kaselle may be able to relate to, what with being the Grand Moff of the Borderlands Sector, correct? There is a great deal of military brass and political clout gathered together, all in one room...

So far agreeing with the other Grand Moff, Jenia nodded. "It will be a great challenge to keep a bustling world like Adumar in check while at the same time keeping an eye on Ilum, one of our most valuable worlds in terms of ... rescources", she added, assuming that the Moffs around her knew probably to what she refered, "I have already arranged a meeting with ship wrights in order to improve upon these tasks, given that there is always room for improvement within our security system - if I need to defend the border regions while keeping the ammount of potential rebellion reduced, I will have to know every movement within a single sector. It will surely need some investment in order to keep these sectors in line, but I'm inclined to risk it."

Maybe tonight wouldn't be so bad after all. We are getting drunk? At that Xeonon looked over at Brock and could see the look on his face and understood it instantly. Swallowing his pride he followed the unofficial order and followed after the man. Glancing over his shoulder at Dah'lis and motioned for her to follow. Watching the bartender pour the amber liquid from the glass. He only caught part of the label, Noonian something. Grimacing Xeonon inhaled and downed the drink. The taste was worse than he imagined, like pure alcohol, with only the slightest hint of flavour. Maybe someone else more experienced in drinking could identify it, but he had not drank seriously since his early 20s. If we are getting drunk can we at least drink something I can taste? Something good. Then I can tell you what those people worry about the "nasty Xeno" can do to themselves.

A shocked look was all that Dah'lis had to offer in response for a long few moments. But after the words and meaning of the words sank into the Knights head, she cracked her first real smile of the evening, and gave a salute. Yes, sir, Master Brock... I just hope you boys can keep up with me. She followed the others to the bar and without hesitation or preamble, downed her shot and as she fought the after burn, signaled to the bar tender for two more. Finally able to speak she choked out: And keep 'um coming. I'm on orders to get smashed. Once more she looked at the two senior nights and smiled. Maybe tonight wouldn't be so bad. Drink what every you like, Master Soloman, just as long as we follow our acting Grand Master's orders, I don't think it matters how we get there.

It was at this moment that Lucien Needs walked into the Convocation Chamber, standing to the right side of his father. He is wearing a ceremonial, traditional uniform, rather then his usual hypermodern attire. He and his father, along with a few other members of the Galactic Command that had been invited, had watched the speech from a box seat high above where most of the individuals watching the speech were. His father did appear to be preoccupied with something, but he still enjoyed the speech. His only issue was that he was unable to watch it with Jenia. He would hopefully, however, be able to catch her now in the main event. He sees that she is preoccupied, however, so he walks over to his fellow Imperial Knights, who are surrounded by all manner of alcohols. He chooses this in order to help build his relationships with his fellow Knights.
“Knight Ferrum, Knight Dah’lis. A pleasure to see both of you.”

It will surely need some investment in order to keep these sectors in line, but I'm inclined to risk it." Zahn knew all too well about the resources that Jenia spoke of. To many, they were simply known as Kyber Crystals. They were used in everything from the blades of the Imperial Knights and Ren, to some of the most destructive superweapons that the Empire's of old had built. Personally, he was not a fan of them. They drew from the Force. Something which, when channeled correct, could be a great military asset for the guards of the Emperor. But it was also capable of great destruction when misused. The Deathstars were evidence enough of these mistakes. He gave a nod in acknowledgement to the Grand Admiral thenAs daunting a challenge as it may seem, I have complete faith that you are up to the task Grand Admiral Kaselle. Emperor Delvardus could not have provided you a more perfect position from which to show your unending potential... He gently took Standash's hand in his own then, bowing slightly forward to kiss the back of it. Before letting it go once moreThe pleasure is all mine Moff Thule... The reports do not do your beauty justice... It was at this moment that Lucien Needs walked into the Convocation Chamber, standing to the right side of his father. He is wearing a ceremonial, traditional uniform, rather then his usual hypermodern attire. It was then, that Zahn noticed the group of Imperials make their way down into the hall from the box seats that had been set up in the higher levels of the chamber. A look of disgust briefly crossing his face as he spotted Grand Admiral Garrick Needa and his son, the Imperial Knight Lucien Needa, among the crowd. While his new rank had granted him an invitation to such an area, Zahn had declined on principle alone. He turned his attention back to both Standash and Jenia thenIndeed, things are always happening... Though some ways and customs should be left to die and rot in the past... Those old families talk of being apart of the Empire, yet sit above everyone else, lauding their names and power over others. It disgusts me how brazenly they spit upon the work that the First Order has done... They claim privilege and power, sitting in their places above all others, and only coming down to... grace us with their presence once the formalities are over...
