With a new merger, proposed by the One Sith to the reborn Blackguard, the Sith Academy, hidden beneath the Tarkin Estates, was alive like a beehive with activity. Sith agents were being sent across SesTrade and Blackguard space to aid in the furthering of their Sith'ari's plans for the galaxy. Their former regent, Darth Malvus, still served as the Eriaduan master for the Blackguard and as the Jen'ari of this organization. With the resources at his hands, leaders of his former One Sith ranks ensured that much was done for the Blackguard within this sector of space. The Western Outer Rim had long been a stronghold for Sith and Dark Side activity and so it shall be again.

The duties of Jen'ari kept him going between Eriadu and Mustafar, yet Malvus was still able to conduct his own experiments in the end. Eriadu was still his fortress, even though the planet had undergone some changes since the sudden death of Viceroy Tarkin. Malvus dropped his guise as Ulric von Tarkin and, thus, became the shadowy master of the planet. His rule was enforced, directly, via his Crimson Acolytes, a cadre of red-cloaked and masked servants of his will. Below them were Truth Officers, an organization of dark side practitioners trained as Inquisitors. Below them came the various Sith warriors and regular infantry that made up the rest. Eriadu has fallen under a dark depostic rule, enforced by a strong military presence.
In light of Eriadu's old army vanishing, which was covered up by the controlled media, a new recruitment drive had begun. Truth officers going about to find the most loyal of subjects and those whose weak minds could be conditioned to be loyal soldiers of the Blackguard. Eriadu's massive population helped with this. In addition, droid founderies were founded at Phelar and began to churn out Sith war droids and battle droids to augment the dark legions under the banner of the Blackguard.

How are the new recruits doing?
Malvus speaks to Commander Solaris as the two of them walked through one of the training facilities, left over by the SesTrade Hegemony's days. It seemed like yesterday, but it had been months since it was dissolved and the new, and more pro-Sith, administration was put in place. The Sith Lord was making one of his rare visits to his old home on Eriadu, a vital asset to the Blackguard Reborn's power within the region. The foundries were churning out new war droids to augment the legions being trained for the Sith armies that were slowly being forged.
You won't need to worry about their loyalties, my Lord. I have seen to it that new officers have been selected and train to replace our old staffings. We have even found prospective pilots, crewmembers, and other naval personnel which have been deployed at the Sith'ari's command and wishes.
Malvus stops to watch from above at the training of a platoon of these recruits. They were presently learning hand-to-hand combat while others were being trained with electrostaffs. From what he could tell, this platoon was being slated for paramilitary roles. With the new administrations falling across the recently conquered Sith Worlds, new police forces were necessary to keep law and order. His eyes glanced over at a live-fire drill with another platoon.
Any of them adept in the Force though?
A select group, my Lord, no more than fifty of them have been selected by your Acolytes and sent to Mustafar. The remainder are better suited for the army and naval roles that are being drilled with presently.
No more than fifty, not bad for a haul, thought the Sith. It was better than nothing.

Malvus quietly walks down a corridor, an individual, cloaked in red, walking beside the Jen'ari within the depths of a Sith research facility beneath the Tarkin Estates. It had once been the cornerstone of Cygnus's bizarre and many unsuccessful experiments. It had been left in a neglected state when the Sith Lord took control of Eriadu but found it useful nonetheless. Cygnus had attempted to revive a number of old Imperial researches and experiments from the days of the Old Empire. The late Tarkin had a great fascination with the Empire's experimental technology, particularly the research done personally by Palpatine. Today, it seemed some of those experiments would come to be useful for the future of the Blackguard.
You are certain that the empowerment has been working?
The Sith Lord speaks to the red-cloaked individual beside him. There were seven of these persons who served the Sith directly as his hands, his Dark Side Adepts. The one present was Maxir Harend, whose sister, Tiiona, also served in the Dark Apostles. Both of them were from the planet of Eriadu themselves and were known to previously be in the service of Cygnus Tarkin. Malvus picked up the two individuals, finishing their training and exerting his influence over them. Maxir was the assigned Dark Apostle to be the Overseer of the ongoing experiments in this part of the facility.
We have seen a heightened combat expertise by a 18% positive margin. It is still in progress, my Lord, but it is making leeway nonetheless.
Malvus recalled reading the material on the Dark Trooper program, a successful experiment, performed by Palpatine and his Dark Side Adepts, that heightened and improved the combat ability of Stormtroopers by one of two means. The first being empowered by the Dark Side, which Malvus had used before, while the other was giving them a minimal education in the Dark Side, nothing more than to heighten their prowess and abilities to be above the average soldier.
If these are to catch the eye of the Sith'ari and be useful, they need to exceed 20%, Maxir. I need this to be successful for the future of the Blackguard and to further the plans of the Sith'ari himself. His grand schemes and ambitions shall be realized, by a core of these soldiers under his banner.
Maxir bows his hooded head before proceeding into the main facility. A number of scientists and Sith adepts rose and bowed to the Jen'ari as he briskly walked across the room to gaze down at an ongoing training session with these empowered soldiers. His eyes watching as a group of them fired rapidly and without a single flinch. Another group performed melee combat with another group of soldiers. However, the opposing group were not a part of the experiment and thus displayed the combat abilities between empowered and average soldiers.
Better than before it seems.
Indeed, Lord Malvus. As I said, we are making progress. Just some more time and effort and they should be ready. Their bodies need to be properly conditioned to accept the empowering ritual... not a lot of bodies can do that, unfortunately.
Malvus turns to Maxir.
Then Sith alchemy is helping improve those who are the best candidates?
Maxir nods his head, making the Sith make a tsking sound.
Too slow of a process...

Gavin's YT-1930 descended from orbit and made its way to the capital of the world. As they flew over towards the spaceport, Gavin could already see the buildings and streets. There were some alterations since he was last here, but nothing seemed altered too much. As he guessed, what these two perceived as reality wasn't exactly what was true. They might not have realized in their young age the Sith pulling the strings from the background, feeling that an Imperial-style government might have been entirely different from one fully controlled by the Sith. A shock of the moment in seeing the truth and being taken from their families and sent to Iridonia for training. His biggest question would have actually been why only the two were sent to Iridonia. No doubt there were others capable of using the Force here. No doubt that Malvus kept the rest to be trained here under his own work.
Reaching the landing area, Gavin brought the ship down and powered the systems down. He sat there for a few moments, letting the two have a few extra seconds to let things settle before he departed the ship via the boarding ramp.

As they passed over the city for their designated landing zone, Cayne and Elysta looked down at their old home. While they had expected things to have changed from what they remembered, something seemed off. It was like the home they remembered wasn't what they were looking at. Had the Sith taken over that much? Irritation settled over them, though, for some strange reason, they couldn't lace the why of it. Obviously, it should have been at the Sith and Malvus, but as much as they tried to justify and align it back to that, their feelings kept swaying.
For now, they pushed the thoughts aside, standing and following Gavin from the ship. Once they were free from the boarding ramp, they were finally able to see exactly how their home looked.

It did not take long for Gavin's visit to go unnoticed. For within just a few short minutes, a skiff came down some yards away, carrying a handful of Sith soldiers and their commanding officer, a Sith Warrior. However, there was something different about this one. For in a ways, Gavin was one of the few who had seen the various forms and faces of Malvus, formerly Valstrol Horica. The man rarely kept the same form due an unknown condition or reason, in this case, as Gavin and others never truly knew of it. In a way, the Sith looked like a younger Valstrol; darker hair covered his head and Sith tattoos, remnants of the old One Sith that resided here, covered his face.
Darth Vurkar, born as Aasim Horica, had been notified of Gavin's arrival. His father had grown more powerful than ever before, his Force sensitivity far reaching due to successful experiments and Sith alchemy. That Sith Crystal within his chest cavity definitely was a great boon to the Jen'ari. Vurkar glances at the pair with Gavin before returning his gaze to his father's old associate.
=Darth Vurkar= Gavin Phoenix, my father, the Jen'ari, sends his regards. He is currently dealing with matters and was not able to come and formally welcome you. However, Lord Malvus plans to make himself available as soon as possible. He is rather surprised by your visit though. Is there something he could of service for?

Gavin's attention turned upwards as the skiff arrived and those onboard approached him. Despite the years that separated his last visit, the face didn't go unrecognized. He had seen the man that first day he had arrived and he looked so much like his friend back in the old days on Alzoc III. He gave him a bow of his head before speaking. "Vurkar, correct? Yes, it does seem as if your father is always busy nowadays. Surely that task of being the second-in-command of the Blackguard is far from an easy task. I had no intention of disturbing him as I only wished to allow my students a moment to return home and visit their families." He then walked behind the pair to introduce them. "Cayne Etamis and Elysta Serao, former residents of Eriadu City. They were found with potential in the Force and were sent to Iridonia to be trained as Sith shortly after the merger between the merger of the Blackguard and One Sith."

As the skiff landed, Cayne and Elysta tensed up, already able to to feel the power radiating from them. Sith, to be sure. Why would they be anything else? They only remained quiet as the two spoke. Vurkar was his name and he was the son of Malvus. This reality only stirred their irritation and tension as they watched the man. Still, when Gavin introduced them, they gave a bow, not wishing to cause a problem before they could even get to their families.

Vurkar's attention turns to the two individuals with Gavin. He motions to one of the soldiers, acquiring a datapad from trooper. The Sith searches those two names. Everything checked out from what he had seen. Both had been acquired for their potential in the Force and sent to Iridonia after the merger with the Blackguard Reborn. However, Gavin Phoenix was a member of the newly revived Dark Jedi Order. Wonder how these two came to know him.
Cayne Etamis and Elysta Serao... seems you were sent to Iridonia for proper training.
Vurkar turns his gaze back to the datapad.
Your families were relocated to the Upper Districts. A boon granted by Lord Malvus for those families who supplied force users to the Blackguard ranks. You will find them in... District 7, Block 103 for Serao family. For the Etamis family, District 4, Block 45.
Vurkar taps the datapad some more.
I am authorizing you three to have Privileged Guest status so that you may be able to move through the city without any issue. Lord Malvus will be notified of your visit and I know he will aim to join you three shortly.

Two years before the formation of the Dark Jedi Order, Gavin found himself arriving at Iridonia and joined up with the Blackguard and became a teacher to its students. It had been two years of training, and a third since moving to the Dark Jedi. But as they were two groups unified, Gavin had decided to ensure that he saw the training of his students before he departed for Ambria on a permanent basis. He always had been one to finish what he started.
As Vurkar spoke, a small smile played at his lips. Already, he felt that the perception the two had about the situation was off. No other place would have done as such for those who gave up members of their families to be taken to bolster the Sith ranks. He then gave Vurkar another bow of his head. "Thank you, Vurkar. It is most appreciated."

As Vurkar spoke, Cayne and Elysta became more confused by the second. It didn't seem right. The Sith took over the way of life here, stole them from their families. There was no way any of what they were seeing could have been real. It had to be some illusion. The city was happily living life under Sith rule? Their families had basically offered them up and handed them over? No, it had to be lies. The tension inside of them was rising as the confusion kept spreading.
Still, when they were given the information about where their parents had been moved to and why and that they were given such status to move freely throughout the city, they bowed, ready to go the very moment Gavin led them off. They had to see their families, had to sort things out. But even now, everything they thought they knew was beginning to crumble within their minds.

This was the true reality that Cayne and Elysta would come to realize during their visit to Eriadu. Over a decade of rule over the planet had ensured that the Sith were not resisted nor an unpleasant occupation. Rather, they were respected and accepted by the populace of the planet. Under the shrewd rule of Lord Mendacious, the Sith presence began as Eriadu was molded into a model world that was to be an example of Sith rule over the people. Though there was some turbulence under the rules of Cygnus and Adulph, who were not fondly remembered, they still remembered the more capable reigns of Raven and the Dark Tide, formally known then as the Galactic Empire. The reign of Malvus came most recently and the evidence of the Sith presence was everywhere, as plain as day.
There was propaganda that supported the Sith regime and encouraged the populace to contribute in any way they could. Sith and their troopers patrolled the streets, but the people seemed un-phased by this armed presence. Their lives continued normally and without any problems. Business boomed thanks to the former Hegemony and the present Blackguard as trade flowed in and out. Life seemed as normal as any other world. The banners of the Blackguard hung high and proud over the streets, the authoritarian regime being a reflection of the Old Empire that Eriadu had been proud of.

With everything said and done, Gavin led the two onwards into the city. He took it slow, allowing the sights to mull about in their minds. There was no sign of problems among the residents. All seemed happy and content. In truth, that was something to be said. Most didn't care for the rule of the Sith, but it seemed Malvus, as well as Viox, had worked to ensure that those under their rule followed a different system of beliefs. They didn't rule through fear and power, at least, not like older empires. The power of the Sith could be felt, but they ensured that life thrived. After all, better to have people who were grateful to follow you than to have them hating and plotting against them. Even living in fear hindered what could be achieved. With the mindset seen here, this place would continue to stand the test of time and stay loyal to those that ruled over them.

The two followed behind Gavin as they made their way towards the upper district, all the while looking around, trying to understand the sights they were seeing. None of it made sense. This couldn't be what reality was. It had to be forced, nothing more than an illusion. But as they reached the upper district, Gavin gave them the go-ahead to head off to find their parents. Wasting no time, they split up making their way to the designated locations.
Reaching his home, Cayne stopped at the door for a moment, simply staring at it. After all, he had seen, he was almost afraid to knock, to know that what he believed was a lie. If it had, what did that make of him and the plans he had with Elysta? Shaking the questions and doubts from his mind, he knocked a few times before his mother reached the door. He allowed his gaze to fall upon her, taking in the details. Even after three years, she looked just the same as when he was taken.
It took a moment, though, before his mother was able to piece together the appearance of her son.
"Cayne? Is that you? What are you doing here? We didn't expect to see you again for a few more years."
As her words came, the confusion he had been feeling only increased as he feared the truth of what she meant.
"What do you mean see me in a few more years?"
His mother, then moved from the doorway, leading him inside and back to the kitchen.
"We thought you'd be in training for much longer before you were able to come back here on your own. Did you finish already? I always knew you were a quick learner, but I didn't expect you to make it through your training so quickly, not with the Sith anyway. Show your superiors just how capable and valuable those from Eriadu are?"
Cayne griped the counter as he thought on her words, the picture he didn;t want to see becoming ever clearer.
"You make it sound as if you willingly let me go with the Sith. But that wouldn't be right. They took me and Elysta from you, from our home, forced us to become Sith. We've done nothing but hate them since then."
His mother looked surprised when he spoke, not realizing what he had percieved to be true. Shaking her head, she moved over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder, seeing the shock this news was putting him under.
"They didn't take you from us, Cayne. They came to us when they felt you had potential in the Force and asked for you to be taken to become Sith. It's a great honor to be seen as worthy of the title, to be trained as a Sith and we knew you could achieve greatness. We've always believed that about you. This was your chance to show it. I..I'm sorry if you felt they took you forcefully from us, but that wasn't the case. But you were quite young when they came, so I guess what you perceived as the truth was different than reality. It all did happen a bit fast, though, didn't it? The Hegemony that followed an Imperial-like doctrine suddenly replaced with the rule of the Sith. But we've always respected the Sith and they have been good to us. I grew up in a Sith ran the government, so I guess I didn't notice the difference. But the Sith are respected here, and they respect and treat us well, Cayne."
As the knowledge was set upon him, Cayne took a seat, trying to process what he was being told.
Elysta was at a full sprint as she ran by houses, checking the number on each until she finally reached the one that held her family. She had to get out of here with them, had to get away from the false illusion the Sith had set for the city. She refused to believe it, knowing it was nothing but Sith trickery. The moment she stood before the door, she began pounding on it as hard as she could.
"Mom! Dad! It's me, Elysta! Open up! It wasn't even a few moments before a hurried scrambling was heard inside the house. Quickly the door came flying open and the arms of her parents' were around her.
"Honey, what's wrong? Is everything okay? We didn't expect you to be home so soon. They said it would be much longer before you would have been effectively trained as Sith and would be able to come back."
"We need to get out of here quickly before they realize. Hurry. grab what you can and.." It was only after a few moments did she catch what they had told her. "What are you talking about? Who said it'd be awhile?"
Elysta's parents looked between each other before leading their daughter inside. As her mother helped get her comfortable in the living room, her father went on to explain.
"The Sith said so. When the Hegemony was replaced by the rule of the Blackguard, they came seeking people with Force potential. They felt something strong within you and your friend Cayne and asked us if we would let them take you to be trained at the academy on Iridonia. We agreed. The Sith have always been good to us in the past, plus it's a great opportunity. It was hard letting you go, knowing we wouldn't see you for a long time, but we knew it was a great chance for you. I'm sorry if it didn't turn out all that great. We were just thinking about what was best for you.
Elysta took a few breaths, trying to remain as calm as possible.
"You mean all this time I thought we had been stolen from you against your wills, set to be trained only for their benefit, they actually asked you because they felt I was worth something more than just another piece in their conquest?"
Her parents nodded.
"Yes. We respect them and they respect us. Our planet has prospered under their rule just like it has before. Despite what many think, not all Sith seek to dominate and rule the galaxy as some supreme dictator. There are many, such as those of recent times that cared about establishing a stable government where their people are respected and taken care of. They know how to properly lead and we wanted to to be a part of that greatness.
The hours went by as Elysta's family explained the truth to their daughter.

Gavin had given the two a time limit of twenty-four hours to see their families and decide what to do. Once it was time, he'd meet them at the entrance to the upper district to return back to Iridonia. That left him time to wander around and take in the sights, to see more of the world that his friend called home. And so he wandered the streets at a casual pace with no reason to hurry himself along.

At some point after the twenty-four hour limit had expired, Gavin would certainly sense a dark presence coming towards the area where he was meeting up with Cayne and Elysta. A skiff came into view, actually, more like a trio of them. Darth Vurkar stood on the lead one with the Dark Lord Malvus, a red-skinned Sith humanoid, present as well. The skiffs touched down near the entrance to the Upper District where Gavin and the two visiting persons were destined to meet. Malvus disembarks from the skiff and quietly approaches the trio. His eyes glanced at Cayne and Elysta before turning his gaze to Gavin.
Never thought you would find a cause to support, Gavin. You always seemed like a wanderer when Tyrana followed you about.
Malvus had known Gavin for many years now, ever since he went by the name of Valstrol Horica, an identity that had been discarded for some time. Slowly, the Sith's gaze turned to the two other youths with his old acquaintance. The Sith could sense confusion and uncertainty within them. From there, his gaze turns upward to gaze at the high buildings that housed many families.
Your apprentices seem confused, Gavin. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to why.
The Sith says as he looks back down at the dark apprentices.

Gavin had returned to his ship for the night and to wait on his students to return. He had found it odd that in all his wanderings through the city, not once had Mavlus shown up. Then again, it wasn't really surprising. As the master of Eriadu and Jen'ari of the Blackguard, having a full plate of things to tend to was certainly expected. Malvus, unlike himself who possessed fewer duties, couldn't just always up and leave when he felt.
As the final hour ended, Gavin awaited Cayne and Elysta at the entrance of the Upper District, who showed up a little later. He could sense that the confusion within them had lessened after speaking with their families, even able to notice that much of the hatred they harbored had dissipated as well. He was just about to talk to them about it when he felt the powerful presence approaching. He gave only a smirk before turning his attention towards the incoming skiffs.
When Malvus spoke of his wanderings and not seeming as one who would have settled within an order to support a cause, Gavin laughed a little. "It has indeed been many years of wandering. I can't remember the last time I walked side by side with those of an order. However, I couldn't ignore the way the darkness was beginning to move. That sense of unity within darkness brought me to Iridonia almost four years ago and I have stuck around ever since to see how things would unfold. Yet, soon, I'll once again walk another path as I return home to the Dark Jedi, now that it has been revived by Ifrit and Mariah. Once I finish training my students and make them ready to find masters of their own, I'll take up new residence on Ambria."
As Malvus spoke of the remaining uncertainty within his two students, he looked to them with a smirk. "Let's just say its from an altered perception of reality."

Cayne and Elysta met up at the point where they had split up the day before in order to meet up with Gavin again. As they met up, they could only stare at each other, no words being passed as they both understood what the other was feeling. Everything they had known was a lie. They had been given to the Sith when their families were basically asked to let them be taken for training. The Sith were respected and treated everyone here properly and lifted up those families that provided someone to bolster the Sith ranks. Everything they had thought had been nothing but an illusion crafted within their minds and it left them uncertain about what to do. They couldn't follow through with their plans anymore, couldn't fight the Sith and run away with their families. So what did that leave them? Continue to train and become powerful Sith? That seemed like the only option.
Metting up with Gavin, they could already see it his eyes and smirk. He had known all along and had brought them here, not to help them with their plans, but to help them see reality. And it had worked, for the most part. There were things they still needed to come to terms with, though. It was then they sensed the presence of a powerful Dark-sider approaching. Turning they saw the skiffs land and Malvus make their way towards them. They took a few steps back, moving behind Gavin a bit as one would expect from students. No doubt he was here to see Gavin anyway. As he approached and glanced between them, something began to simmer within them. Despite what they were learning about the truth, there was still a hatred that burned within them, just less than it had been. They might have been offered up to become more than they were, they realized it took from the life they could have lived. At this point, it seemed unlikely they'd fully change their view on the Sith and what they represented in their minds.
When Malvus asked Gavin about their uncertainty and their teacher's vague answer, Elysta stepped up. They might not have been asked the question, but she could tell that Gavin gave such an answer for a reason. That reason was to leave it open for them to speak. She gripped the two Rol stones gifted to her by her family. They had intended to be gifts when she completed her training as a student, but with her arrival and demonstration of her abilities, her parents went ahead and gave them to her. Now, she could finish her lightsaber, as it would work as a focusing crystal.
"Coming home showed us that we percieved a different truth than what was real. The sudden change that fully brought the Sith out of the shadows and to walk the streets, to come asking for people to be offered up to bolster the Sith ranks was reflected differently in our minds. We were younger and didn't understand what was taking place."
Cayne then stepped up.
We hadn't yet come to understand the history the Sith had with this world and what it brought here ages past. So when the change came, we believed it to be the Sith taking over, believed that the Sith were stealing us away from our families. By Master Phoenix's act to bring us home, he helped us see the reality of what happened, and that us being taken by the Sith wasn't merely for the benefit of the Blackguard, but for ours as well. All our hatred had been misplaced and had left us planning a way out. Plans made in vain as there is no reason to run from an order that accepted us to be lifted higher."

Malvus listens to both of the young natives of Eriadu. He was never fully involved with the measures that had been implemented by his governance, leading those tasks to trained recruiters and experienced eyes when it came to find suitable recruiters for the Blackguard's ranks. Which had now extended to giving recruits over to the Dark Jedi presence on Eriadu as well. The Sith looks between both of them before his eyes looked above and behind them at the grand city of Eriadu that they stood within.
My mentor, Lord Mendacious, sought to integrate this planet fully with the Dark Side of the Force. Tyranny and despotism can only gain loyalty through fear and force of arms... that is the makings of an occupation rather than true governance. The troubled times of Cygnus and Adulph was what you two endured and it is understandable as why your views were perverted. Cygnus was a mad man who deserved to be put down like the rabid dog he was and Adulph was an arrogant little brat... neither were truly worthy to rule this planet and, by their actions, this world suffered tremendously.
Those two words cause a flare of anger to rise within the Sith. The two who had barred him from his rightful inheritance and tried to marginalize him in any way they could. In the end, Malvus prevailed and slashed apart the burial tombs of both his late uncle and cousin. A fit of rage that lasted for many hours as his lightsabers cut through the metal till there was nothing resembling what they once were.
You were taken away by the desires of your families to see you contribute to society. And for their reward, we granted them better lives. Even if you had died in battle, your families would have been looked after well. Sacrifices were made, willingly, to ensure you two rose to greater heights than what you may have been destined to do here before. We are a new generation of Sith who understand the need to govern and to be governors. We still rely on our anger and desire power... but like any society, a backbone is needed. And that backbone are the people we rule.
Malvus looks back down at Elysta and Cayne. This was a trial they had endured and survived. For if they had acted as they desired to do before, the pair would have certainly been exterminated and their families dishonored by their actions. He turns his gaze to Gavin.
They remind me of Luxeria. She too was deceived by that heretical group known as the Order of Ruin. Deceived to become weaker than she was destined to be. Their deception has been turned to truth and now these two can focus on what truly matters... and that's becoming properly ordained practitioners of the Dark Side.
