Noticing that the human children had finished eating, Brightfang made his way over, guessing that now they'd want to take it easy the rest of the night. Before addressing the kids, he instructed his daughters to prepare lodging in one of the huts for their guests. While they went off to do that, he turned to Morgan and co, just in time to hear Jake ask where they could sleep tonight."Did you enjoy your meal? My people deal with humans every now and then so we tried to make something palatable for you."
Serena smiled politely, managing to hold back a yawn."It was tasty, thank you."
With a chuckle, the Ewok chieftain gestured towards the hut that his daughters were preparing for them."That's great to hear. That hut over there will be your lodging for the night. My shaman is in the next hut over and he can speak Basic in case you need anything."
Serena nodded and yawned."Oh...OK thanks..."She turned to Morgan and Jake."Dunno about you guys, but I'm gonna die if I don't get some sleep now..."

*Oh, the Chief was still here, good. He asked if they enjoyed the food, stating that they tried to make something fit for humans. Serena answered for him, so he didn't bother to answer; he wasn't sure he could answer truthfully anyway, not because he thought it was bad, but because he'd been hungry enough that he wouldn't have noticed its quality unless it was really bad. The Chief then gestured toward the hut they'd be staying in; Jake made a quick note of it, then, when Serena stated how badly she needed sleep, Jake waved them on.* You guys go ahead, I'll be there in a bit. *He then ran up to the Chief, gave a little bow, then straightened and grimaced a little.* Er, evening! Chief. Uh, I was wondering if I could talk to you a little bit? Nothing important really! Just kinda curious about some stuff is all...

*The food? The food was fine. Morgan couldn't complain, she had been hungry. She supposed it wasn't anything great, or she would've thought so even when hungry, but it was definitely edible. She knew Lokay couldn't complain; to him, meat was meat. She supposed. She wasn't actually sure if animals like Lokay had tastes as refined as sentient life forms, though maybe they did; he had a specific love for mynocks, after all.
The Chief directed them toward where they could sleep, and if there was to be no fun to partake in, sleep was more than welcome. Jake, however, seemed to want to talk to the Chief... about what? Boring history stuff? Well, whatever. She tended to side with Serena right now anyway, though not quite to that level of hyperbole...* Come on, let's go sleep, Jake will catch up later. *She then headed off toward the hut, sleepily dodging anything that was in her way; she could stop giving effort when she was laying down on something comfy.*

The beds in the hut that the chief's daughters had prepared for them were little more than hay piles with blankets, but Serena wasn't going to complain. Picking one of the piles, she put a blanket on it and lay down, closing her eyes and dozing off within seconds as she gave in to her exhaustion.
Brightfang was a little surprised that Jake hadn't gone straight to sleep after eating, but he also couldn't blame the boy for being curious. Well if the kid had questions, the chief could certainly spare a few moments to answer them."I've got some time to talk now. What would you like to know?"

*Morgan happily and tiredly followed Serena to the hut where'd they stay. A bed of hay wouldn't normally be her sleeping place of choice, but it would suffice for the night. She curled up under a blanket, Lokay curling up beside her as she pulled the blanket over her and quickly drifted off to sleep.*

*Cool, he could talk to the chief for now! He turned enough to wave at the girls as they went to bed, then turned back to the chief to... freeze up. What should he ask about? He felt like he'd had so many things to talk about earlier, but now he was drawing a blank. He stammered a bit, then decided he could settle for something incredibly generic. It wasn't exactly that interesting, but it was a start he supposed.* Er, so um, do you see a lot of humans or other species? I mean, um, how often do you? Are we the first ones you've seen in a while?

Brightfang gave a slight nod."I've made contact with humans several times. Most of them are just people who have gotten lost, though we do get some who want to trade. You, however, are the first humans I've made contact with in several months."He was glad that it was just human children looking for a way back to where they had come. Not all of the humans who had passed the village were as friendly."There are others besides humans, of course. Not all of them are friendly."

*Most people the Chief had seen were people who'd gotten lost? Jake gave a bit of a goofy smile at that, glad they weren't the only ones. There were traders as well though, which was interesting to Jake. What exactly would they be looking for to trade? He couldn't imagine any of the goods here were worth anything, except perhaps some novelty items or something like that.
But apparently there were other people the village saw, not all of them friendly. Jake frowned, looking around at the place. He didn't really see anything he could consider a battle scar, unless he just couldn't tell or they were good at repairing those. That, and he didn't particularly sense any darkness or death in the ground. Well, trees...* What kind of people? *He hope that wasn't asking too much, or bringing up any negative memories for the Chief. Maybe he shouldn't have asked... well, he'd find out soon, he supposed, and he could apologize if it was too much to ask.*

Brightfang shrugged, not really seeing the need to go into too much detail about the many perils the village sometimes had to face."The Ewoks have enemies, Jake. My warriors have always dealt with the threat before it got too close to the village, of course."It was a point of pride for the village's warriors that they had yet to allow anyone to cause harm directly. They had even held their own against the Sanyassans, ruthless scavengers who seemed to take joy in causing the Ewoks anguish."Do not worry. You are safe in the village, so long as my warriors remain on guard."

Huh? Oh, I wasn't worried! I was just curious is all. Like, what kinds of enemies... er, that wasn't a question! Unless you don't mind telling me. I just... like to know things. *He appreciated the reassurance from the chief, though he wasn't really worried at all. Well, perhaps a little bit, but the village had clearly held their ground for a while now, and any threats would have been dealt with. But knowing what kind of potential threats were out there would be valuable information, especially should something actually happen...*

Brightfang chuckled softly at the boy's curiosity, and in a way it was refreshing to be talking with someone like this. It had been a little while since the last friendly visit and he didn't often have a chance to converse with someone other than his tribe."Ha ha...well if you really must know, the Sanyassans are our most dangerous foes. They raid us every now and then, seemingly out of spite rather than an actual attempt to steal anything. It's strange..."The chieftain sighed softly."Ah but enough of that. It's getting late and I have to see to a few things. You get some rest and we shall speak more tomorrow, all right?"

*Information! Jake stared at the chief with intrigue as he mentioned a group called the "Sanyassans," raiders that seemed to occasionally harass the village for nothing more than sport. That was awful! He was eager to learn more about this new thread, what they were like, if they were primitive or used more modern technology, if they were tall, short, large, small—
... or not, as the Chief was ushering him to go sleep. Jake's mouth worked silently, tempted to protest and ask for more, but decided the Chief's hospitality shouldn't be ignored, at least for now, and accepted the offer, bowing and bidding him goodnight before finding his way to the hut. Serena, Morgan, and Lokay were already all asleep, which suddenly just made Jake feel more tired himself. He took up his place on one of the spare hay mats, pulled the blanket over himself, curled up, and soon fell asleep.*

Serena was awakened in the morning by a gentle prodding, and she woke with a start to see one of the chief's daughters was standing over her. She sat up quickly, yawning and trying to brush the young Ewok away, but she persisted in prodding the girl until she finally stood up."All right all right! I'm awake! Sheesh..."The chief's daughter scurried away, seeming like she was quite amused by that, which caused Serena to huff. Looking over, she saw two of Brightfang's other daughters prodding at Jake and Morgan to wake them up as well. At least she wasn't the only one...

*Morgan had been so tired that she hadn't dreamed at all, and she could have probably slept well into the morning if she hadn't felt the prodding. Her initial reaction had been a toddlerish whimper as she changed positions and curled up, as though that would shield her from the prodding. Then, when she was reluctantly awake a little more, she shot up into a sitting position, throwing the blanket off of her.* Alright, I'm awake! *This was the action that had stirred Lokay, as he uncurled and peeked around with a small noise of curiosity. It was also what caused the Ewok that had been prodding her to scatter backwards in shock. Morgan would've felt bad, but she was too tired to think of anything other than the fact that she'd been woken up before she wanted. That, and she could really use a bathroom. ... how did Ewoks go to the bathroom up here? On second thought, she could worry about that later.* Ugh... *She rubbed her eyes sleepily and tried to compose herself; she never felt this much fatigue on Felucia, so going to another planet was always disorienting in that sense. She looked up, seeing that the others were awake too. Well, they might as well get around and figure out how to get home...*

*Jake dreamed about raiders, faceless raiders, attacking Ewok villages, only for the Ewoks to retaliate. He watched all this from an undetermined vantage point, he didn't know if he was there watching, taking part, or was watching from the point of view of an Ewok. It wasn't a bad dream, it was actually quite exciting, until he felt an arrow pierce his skin. And another. And another.
Jake gasped awake, hands frantically grabbing at where he'd been shot only to realize that the "arrows" were from the surprised Ewok standing over him. He'd been prodded awake? Well that was kind of rude... Hopefully it was for something important. He looked around: Serena and Morgan were both awake, and both seemed irritable. Not that Jake could blame them... He sat up, rubbed his eyes, then looked around.* So... now what?

There wasn't much time to ponder Jake's question as the Ewok females nudged them out of the hut and back towards where they had eaten the previous evening. As it turned out, it was simply breakfast time and it seemed that the chief hadn't wanted his guess to sleep in too late and miss it. At least that was what Serena was guessing. The chief was actually nowhere in sight...
Oh well. The food they had set out looked all right so Serena sat down."Looks like it's breakfast time."She started to eat slowly, not feeling quite as hungry as she had the day before.

*The Ewoks were even less patient than Morgan realized, going so far as to prod them out of bed and out of the hut. As it turned out, breakfast was ready and they wanted to include their guests. Oh. Well Morgan felt a little apologetic for her flustered attitude. Mildly. Still, there was that certain other issue she needed to take care of, and it wasn't an experience she particularly enjoyed nor wanted to think about it, so she instead focused her best on breakfast. Which, well, she wasn't all that hungry, considering the fairly large meal she had just before bed, but she ate some anyway, and Lokay didn't seem to complain either...*

*Breakfast? Oh, well it was nice of them to wake them up in time for breakfast. Not that he could particularly say he was hungry, maybe a little bit, but he partook anyway. It wasn't what he would have expected from a breakfast, but these were completely different people; Felucians too had their own odd meal choices as well. When he was finished, he let out a satisfied sigh and looked at his comrades.* Well, I guess maybe we should find out how to get home...

Serena nodded in agreement. It wasn't that she disliked being among the Ewoks, but Jake and Morgan's dad must be worried by now, as they had been lost for a whole day. Hopefully the chief or someone knew the way back to the enclave."We should probably ask the chief or something."
As Serena was speaking, the village shaman was walking over to where the kids were sitting. He was clearly much older than the rest of the village inhabitants, as his fur was grayed and he moved much more slowly.
He stopped in front of the group."The chief informs me that you three are looking for a way home."

*The Chief? Yeah, he would've been a good person to ask. Was he around? Probably, but where at? Just as he was looking around through the crowd of curious Ewoks, he noticed what seemed to be an older one slowly making his way over to them, one donned in a somewhat eccentric headdress. This must have been the shaman, Jake guessed, though all he did after approaching them was speak to them in Basic, explaining that the Chief had told him they were looking for a way home. Jake immediately stood, offering a bow.* Yes sir! Uh, my name's Jake, this is my sister Morgan and our friend Serena. Do you know how we can get home? *He probably should have asked for the shaman's name, as he didn't want to seem rude, but ignoring the topic at hand only to ask his name seemed equally rude to Jake, so he decided it was best to just leave it be for now. Besides, maybe he was about to introduce himself anyway.*
