Description:
Aldar legends told of majestic ancient Sylvan cities that could traverse the stars. Inspired from the legends, the Halo-class star city was made. The first, and for now, the only one of its kind, the city of Aérondel was built for a multitude of intentions, with one of its functions as a life-ark. Although capable of water landings and submerging, the city was more ideally suited for land, with access to fresh water and natural resources. It had shifting hull plates that could be moved to protect damaged or vulnerable areas in combat. As a civilian/merchant/paramilitary vessel, it held residential districts, commercial & entertainment centers, education academies, trade hubs, cargo warehouse stores, three Jedi Temples, several hospitals, a medical research facility, farms, mining facilities with vehicles and tools, agriculture and aquaculture sectors, advanced science institutes and even production factories and facilities, all allowing this massive ship to be self-sustaining and capable of long-term space operations and exploration. Most call the ship a mobile space station rather than a ship.
While most military factions sought to build planet or fleet-killing superweapons, the Aldar thought it would be nice to have a ship with a technical superweapon that sought to rebuild or restore life instead of taking them. Housed within were two prototype arks which carried DNA samples and biological matter to recreate life on a suitable world. These arks were prototypes, and it was unknown if the vessels and the technology within them were truly capable of restoring life on a planet. A sizable portion of the ship carried soil and other land matter from the native homeworld of Archon, including two artificial oceans and sea life. Everything else that the Aldar could think of to add to a self-sustaining city, they've already added, as well as military sectors and the navy. Due to the size of the ship, turbolifts, transport tubes, taxis, busses, trains and in-ship shuttles were necessary for travel within, unless one felt inclined to do marathons.
Aérondel was not suited for sustained or direct combat, but it would nonetheless give many ships pause when it came to firepower.
Despite its size and the fact it was armed, Aérondel was not a dedicated military vessel, a far cry from true super star destroyers, and a confrontation with one was to be avoided at all costs. It nevertheless boasted (single-barrelled) 30 heavy turbolaser cannon turrets, 60 turbolaser cannon turrets, 30 heavy ion cannon turrets, 30 ion cannon turrets, 30 heavy laser cannon turrets, 60 laser cannon turrets, 30 capital-grade warhead launcher turrets, 30 fighter-grade warhead launcher turrets and 60 Phylon Transport Q7 tractor beam projectors. All of the weapons were concealed until needed, and most of them were concentrated on the dorsal section of the ship, with minimal armaments on the ventral section, since this ship spent the majority of its time with the ventral section underground. With its armaments, it could take on starfighters easily enough, and most capital ships, the sole exception being another ship of its size.
In terms of complement, the city ship had a crew requirement of 300,000, with a minimum crew of 30,000, 3,000 gunners, and held seven towers that housed a total of 70,000 troops with accompanying vehicle and ground support. It also carried 3 Archonian prefabricated garrison bases and 7 prefabricated townships with the titanic shuttles needed to transport the parts and construction vehicles needed to set up. The passenger complement allowed for a maximum of 12,000,000, including livestock for the farms, though at most given times, the total population on board, including livestock, came to about 6,000,000. It could carry 3,000,000 metric tons of cargo and had consumables for up to 12 years indefinitely. The city ship had three hangar decks that could count as operational starports thanks to their size. Each hangar was 3 square kilometers in length and stood 1,000 meters tall, with one deck split at 200 meters, for fighters, transports, shuttles and freighters, whilst the 800 meter high deck could house ships ranging from corvettes all the way up to light star destroyers. Two hangars were located on the dorsal section of the ship with one in the ventral, which was only operational while in space or above ground.
On average, the city housed around 1,200 fighters of its own and regularly transported a personal escort fleet of light-to-heavy cruisers within its hangars.
The escort fleet comprised of:

Once it was grounded, only the dorsal hangars remained active and operational, and opened up to become miniature starports. Ideally, it would set up on a land mass near mountains and large bodies of fresh water, with fertile land around, allowing it to quickly settle in and mine the planetary resources. The Aldar followed the give-and-take principle, and thus, as much as they acquired from the land or the world around them, they gave back a return of the riches in produce, refined matter, and trade. Trees and the land matter within the ship were brought out, including Archonite, the semi-sentient crystals, all but concealing the ship on the surface, and most observers would think that the city was built on the planet it's on. It could create a shield dome to protect itself and its surrounding townships or buildings near enough to it when under attack, and had some of the most advanced sensors ever designed to detect potential danger, even beyond the planet it was on.
At present, due to the volume of resources required, Aérondel remained the only ship of its kind, and was considered the mobile royal capital of the Aldar. Thus the Archonian Royal Fleet followed wherever the ship went.
OOC Creator's Note: By itself, it cannot be considered a battleship, and would not actively partake in any naval combat. This ship is strictly for civilian and merchant use only RP-wise. Meaning it will not take part in any IC combat between fleets. It's pretty useless for such purposes anyway, since a proper SSD would decimate it, even with its impressive shields, defense systems and armour, in relatively short order. That said, I would like to specify that this is a military hybrid vessel, and the mobile royal capital of the Aldar. While they rely more on the Royal Escort Fleet for protection from attack, the ship itself is well armed and more than capable of destroying most cruisers except for a ship matching its own size.
