Neassa had, prior to setting out on their journey to attempt to recruit the alleged sole survivor of the Blackguard, instructed Gram to take the team's modified CR90 out of hyperspace near Lefrani, one of the gas giants near Mustafar, in order to allow them to gauge whether any orbital defenses that might be present would present any obstacles to their mission before they proceeded on to Mustafar and to the surface. Using the journey to Lefrani to familiarize herself with their potential recruit, Kaldera, and Mustafar itself, Neassa has spent the duration of the trip in her cabin, pouring through the files M and Isabella had provided her; files ranging from a frustratingly thin dossier on Kaldera himself and on the Blackguard he is, if M's sources are correct, the sole surviving member of, to Mustafar's Tulrus Island where M believes Kaldera will be found and the beasts native to the island.
The information on the Blackguard might, in Neassa's estimation, be of some value in attempting to persuade Kaldera to enlist in their cause, though the fact he is labeled in M's dossier as a darksider with a staunch belief in the Rule of Two which might also prove valuable as a persuasive tool could render knowledge of the Blackguard's philosophy so much useless trivia. M's tacit permission to eliminate Kaldera, along with the unnecessary caution about the dangers inherent in approaching him, is far from comforting, implying as it does that Kaldera is an asset that M believes would be valuable but far from one her employer believes will be an easy, or even necessarily a likely, one to procure. By the time they reach Lefrani and Gram and the crew begin to recon Mustafar's orbital situation from afar, Neassa is not anywhere as close to having a concrete idea of how to handle approaching Kaldera with the employment offer than she would like; with the other recruitment missions she has been on, she had a firm idea of what was needed to convince each to join the mission and a concise plan for everything from making her initial contact with them to how she would make the offer she was making contact with them for. Improvisation, fortunately, is among the skills Neassa believes she possesses, and so the fact her plans are more amorphous than usual is mildly troubling, no more.
Once Gram comms her with the results of his crews' long range scans and monitoring of comm traffic, which suggest that they will not be encountering any complications on their way to Mustafar's surface, Neassa has him assemble the other members of the team in the ship's third floor communications hub and briefing room and then, having already garbed herself in her red and black beskar'gam, makes her way from her cabin to the turbolift that will take her to the third floor.
First to arrive, her buy'ce tucked under her right arm, Neassa sets it on the table near the control panel for the holoprojector she will be using during her briefing and then waits for the other members of her team to arrive . . .

Inferno had spent most of the trip in his personal quarters, bored out of his mind. It felt like it had been much longer than it actually had been - like, around three months or so longer - since they had set out to grab their new potential friend, whom Inferno admittedly knew nothing about. Normally a lack of information would bother the clone, but he trusted Shepherd enough to follow along, to an extent. Suited up in his light combat suit, Inferno was itching for a bit of excitement when he received a message on his personal comm to meet up with everyone in the Comm Hub, Deck Three."'Bout time, hey?" He says to himself as he sets out from his quarters and makes his way in to the designated meeting area. Arriving not long after Neassa, Inferno sits himself in one of the seats and props his feet up on the table."So," he started in an idle conversational tone of voice, "what do we know about our buddy down there on volcano land?" In reference to the primary mark on Mustafar. He was hoping for at least some brief summary on what they'd be looking for.

From the pilots seat of the CR90 Gram watched as the streaking stars of hyperspace returned to their normal dots with the addition of the gas giant Lefrani taking up much of the view. This was the first time that he had piloted the CR90, and in fact he didn't think that he had ever flown a ship even half her size before, but they didn't encounter any problems on their trip. It would take some getting used to working with a crew. He had never actually flown with more then two people on a ship before, and it would take even more getting used to that he was not in full control of the ship. He thought that he had more control over the vessel then on a standard CR90 but the bridge was still full of people who were necessary to keep the ship going.
Once they had dropped out of hyperspace he had on Shepherds orders brought the ship from the far side of Lefrani and into scanning range of Mustafar. Once in scanning range the ship begain scanning the plannet with its long range sensors looking for anything that would hinder their progress to the planet. Both the sensors and what comm chatter they did pick up did not sugest they would encounter anything too interesting but he also knew that sometimes the sensors didn't pick up everything. After the scan was complete he commed shepherd with the results and after the conversation sent a message to the rest of the team to make their way to the ships communication room. He then had one of the bridge officers relieve him of the helm and he made his way via the communications room via the turbolift. The sensors may have said that they would not encounter any trouble on their way but the sensors did not have all of the intel, at least not what he assumed Shepherd must have.
As he arrived at the communication hub he felt, well guess guessed underdressed would be the more appropriate thing as both Shepherd and Inferno both had armor on while he was still just in his normal clothes. He was glad that he wasn't going to be stepping foot on that hell hole of a planet, or at least he didn't think he would be. If he had too... just think of the credits he told himself, just think of the credits. He sat down in a seat that was about opposite of inferno and leaned back as much as the chair would allow and for the moment kept silent.

Hans had dozed off after finishing his weapon maintenance and came to with a start when the order came through the comms for the team to meet. Looking at his chronometer, he noticed that he had only been dozing for about 20 minutes, but it felt like so much longer. He shrugged it off and got up to get ready. Within minutes, he had suited up, slung his rifle over his shoulder and was heading for the ship's comm hub.
Upon entering the room, Hans noticed that Shepherd was already there, along with Inferno and their pilot, Gram Andor. He hadn't really spoken much with either of them, and he hadn't talked to Shepherd much since she had arrived on Dantooine to recruit him for the Perses Project. It would likely take time for him to get to know everyone and learn to work together, and that started now.
Adjusting his rifle on his shoulder, Hans stood by and waited to see what this mission had in store. He knew they were looking to add another to the Perses Project, but that was all he knew for the moment.

Neassa nods a greeting to Inferno when the Echani clone arrives, a hint of an amused smile appearing briefly at the right corner of her lips when he asks, in his typically irreverently playful way, about the prospective team member they have come to attempt to recruit. With an apologetic shrug of her right shoulder, Neassa asks rhetorically, "You don't really want to make me go through the briefing twice do you? Why don't we . . . trailing off as Gram arrives, Neassa nods to welcome him to the briefing and then tells him and Inferno, We'll start as soon as . . . trailing off once more as Hans arrives, Neassa nods a third time to greet him and, once it's clear he'd prefer to stand, begins by saying, Let's begin."
Reaching down to press a button on the holoprojector's control panel, Neassa, looking at each of the members of the team in turn as she speaks, says, "Our candidate is, an image of a vaguely sinister looking being - cloaked, hooded and masked - appears over the center of the conference table, a Sith pureblood known as Kaldera. Knowing that Kaldera's background might prove to be contentious given what she and the others have been told of The Organization's mission mandate, Neassa elects not to try and downplay the inevitably confusing facts and says flat out, Kaldera is allegedly the only surviving member of the Blackguard and a darksider that espouses the Rule of Two. Taking a moment to allow what she has said to sink in, Neassa, her own reservations about the idea of working alongside a darksider hidden beneath her all-business exterior, explains, M believes that by appealing to Kaldera's narcissism and drive for power our team can make use of his skills and whatever intel he may be able to provide concerning individuals and organizations that pose a threat to the universe. Holding up a hand, Neassa admits, It's a risky tactical decision, but M believes the potential benefits outweigh the risks. M's sources suggest that Kaldera, Neassa continues, is a more powerful than average Force user, so this approach calls not only a great deal of caution, but, given that we are dealing with a darksider not likely to be motivated by serving the greater good, also a bit of . . . creativity in how the recruitment pitch is made. I'll be tailoring the facts to suit the candidate and, bearing in mind we're dealing with a narcissistic personality used to getting his way, massaging his ego while doing so. If any of you think you'll have a problem appearing humbled and awed by our candidate or with the idea of potentially working alongside him, I need to hear it now so that I can adjust my plan accordingly."

Hans studied the holo that had appeared in the center of the table, wondering just what it was that had possessed M to think that such a dangerous individual could be useful. He didn't pretend to be an expert on the Jedi or Sith by any stretch, but he knew that the Sith didn't exactly have a reputation for playing nice with others. Naturally, he had doubts on whether or not this mission would succeed, though he wasn't about to back out now. Still, there had to be a backup plan, right?
He took a step forward, leaning down against the back of one of the chairs and addressed Shepherd."Do we have a plan in case he...declines to work with us?"

Inferno's eyes narrowed behind his mask at the mention of the word, "Sith." For whatever reason, the clone could not stand Sith any more than he could a Jedi; clouded emotions filled his thoughts, and he made an educated guess that they weren't all his own... He was aware that there was at least one Jedi on the team already, and conceded that he would have to get used to that fact and play nice. But a Sith? Now that could prove to be a different story. Especially this one, described by Neassa as particularly full of himself and his Sithly ideals. Can't make trouble while we're out on the field though, I suppose... He thought to himself. He wasn't certain that his pent up feelings against this creature, Kaldera, and others like him were worth putting the rest of the group either. Although he wasn't certain that they weren't, either. Maintaining his reclined position, the clone raised his left hand and snapped his fingers into a 'thumbs-up' gesture. "If by 'massaging his ego' you mean not turning him into a yucky paste the moment I see him, then we have no problem." Inferno then shifted his feet off the table and planted them onto the floor, taking a slightly more dignified position, before continuing. "If you mean glorifying him and playing the 'we are not worthy' role to make him feel especially good about himself," he shrugged, "then we may have a small problem..."

He started to get a bad feeling when Shepherd started explaining their "friend" down on the hell hole of a planet that they had travled too. In fact his bad feeling started just around the time that she mentioned their target was a sith. Now he didn't exactly know much about force users but he knew that sith was usually synonymous with bad in most situations, and this felt like one of those situations. His feeling only got worse as she explained who he now thought as "Mr high and mighty". He sounded like someone who not only he but most people should probably try to avoid if they like not having a lazer sword intersecting with different parts of their body.
He stopped leaning back in his chair and took on not so much of a business like attitude but more of a concerned one.
"Ya, well along with those questions, is it really worth the risk to go talk to 'Mr High and Mighty' he sounds like the kinda person you wouldn't want to meet, ever. And you know kind of an important question are you sure he wont just attack whoever he sees on sight?"
It was then that he felt like an idiot and probably answered his own question when he realized that every other member of the room was warring some kind of armor or combat suit.

Neassa nods when Hans asks whether or not she has a contingency plan in mind in the event Kaldera doesn't prove receptive to their proposal, waiting to speak until after Inferno has voiced his opinion on the distinction that he wants to see between stroking Kaldera's ego and presenting themselves as syncophantic inferiors and Gram asks a question she is sure has crossed everyone's mind. Addressing all of the team's concerns at once, Neassa says, "M is well aware of the need to be prepared for Kaldera to answer our appearance with hostility and accepts that our recourse, defending ourselves without restraint, may mean we have no choice but to neutralize Kaldera."
Pausing for a moment, Neassa emphasizes her next statement with a modicum more passion than she has displayed thusfar, continuing, "Let's be very clear: our primary objective is to survive this encounter as far as I'm concerned, not convincing Kaldera to join The Organization; that comes as a distant secondary concern. Looking at Inferno, Neassa, with the slightest suggestion of a smile that, nonetheless, does not reach her eyes, addresses his concern as she says, I'll be the only one engaging Kaldera verbally, so leave finding the appropriate line between respect and kissing shebs to me. Looking at Gram, Neassa answers his question bluntly, We can't be sure Kaldera won't attack on sight, no, which is why, she looks at Hans and then Inferno, we're going into this with our eyes wide open. If we reach Kaldera and if he is in a receptive mood, I'll make the offer we're here to make. Meeting Hans' and Inferno's eyes, Neassa explains the contingency plan she has in mind when she says, You two will be subtly watching Kaldera the entire time, ready to neutralize him at the first hint of hostility or if he declines our invitation. Though it is doubtful that either Inferno or Hans will have any objections or further questions so far, Neassa, before moving on to the discussion of how they will be proceeding once they set down, asks, Is everyone clear so far?"

Neassa seemed well enough prepared for Inferno, and her plans for proceeding left him satisfied enough to give a nod, dramatized a bit to compensate for his mask and hood. He didn't have any real reason to object at this point, and that actually left him feeling a bit... useless. Though he suffered this discomfort in silence. <<You're okay playing nice with a Sith'ari?>> The voice in his head echoed warily, <<I'd assume you're planning something a bit more violent and satisfying....>> "Not exactly 'Plan A'," Inferno answered aloud, though speaking primarily to himself, "but I'm really hoping he does something... hostile." <<That's more like it.>> Playing with the rest of the unit was important, and Inferno got that clearly, so he wasn't about to do anything unnecessarily stupid. Although he never really does... Sometimes, however, he needed to indulge in a fair amount of recklessness, if only to get it out of his system. So the clone cocked his head left, then right, before rising from his seat and idly stepping behind the chair which had recently been holding him. Glancing up at Neassa, he says, "I don't think there's anything else I need to know, is there?" Then, not necessarily waiting for an answer, he turns and heads for the doors leading back to the corridor down to the lift. "Right. I'll see you kids planet-side then."

Despite still thinking that their target seemed more trouble then he could be worth Shepherd's plan did seem sound. Make the offer and neutralize the target at the first sign of danger. He especially liked the part about their survival being the primary goal. Despite anything that he was requested to do that was always his primary goal, no matter how many credits he was being paid, and it was a lot, no amount of credits were worth him dying over, you cant spend credits when your dead.
He looked confused watching Inferno just abruptly leave the room while the meeting still seemed to be going on. He didn't pretend to understand the man and he guessed that nobody probably did. But that really didn't matter, there were more pressing concerns at hand, like how much danger he in specific was going to be in.
"Ya well everything is clear so far, except im just curious what my part in this little operation is going to be?"

Though it is doubtful that either Inferno or Hans will have any objections or further questions so far, Neassa, before moving on to the discussion of how they will be proceeding once they set down, asks, Is everyone clear so far?" So the backup plan was to simply kill Kaldera, probably easier said than done, and to be honest, Hans thought he probably shouldn't have even had to ask. As for how they would go about killing a Sith if he decided not cooperate, they would just have to figure it out when they got there.
He nodded."I'm good." Inferno had left the room, telling everyone he would see them down planetside, which irked Hans slightly, as he would never leave a briefing before being dismissed, but that was the soldier in him, and old habits die hard. With a sigh, he turned his attention back to Shepherd, waiting to hear the rest of the plan for this mission.

Aside from an arching of her left eyebrow that lasts a mere second when Inferno excuses himself from the remainder of the briefing, Neassa has no discernibly visible reaction to the event; were the mission one that involved any amount of particularly detailed planning that his missing out on would result in endangering the rest of the team, Neassa would have reacted far differently, but as it is, she sees nothing to gain in calling the Echani clone to task for being, she assumes, so used to operating solo that it may take time for him to fit neatly into a team situation.
Looking at Gram, Neassa continues as though unphased by Inferno's departure, answering his question, "You'll be acting as our forward observer. A slight smile accompanies her assurance, Don't worry, you won't be leaving the ship. I'll be releasing a pair of R-4 recon droids once we're boots on ground and both their feeds and the readouts from my helmet's systems will be linked to your boards here on the ship. I need you to have your scanner crew monitoring all the incoming data and running scans on the island's land mass and relaying anything pertinent to me. Focus on life signs, electronics, anything that could pose a threat or point us in Kaldera's direction. If things get tense, I'll be counting on you to direct our fire and find us defensible positions. Keep your gunnery crews at their station and ready in case they can provide fire support. M's intel says that we should only expect to encounter Kaldera and local fauna, but I want to be ready for any surprises."
Addressing both Hans and Gram, Neassa explains, "The island's native population should pose only a minimal threat if we're careful. The tulrus, she brings up an image of one of the beasts in question as she speaks, are a pack animal, usually non threatening unless provoked. The bad news is that provoking them is easy, typically a simple matter of getting spotted. Their vision is poor, however, so we'll do what we can to stay out of visual with the help of Gram and the R-4's. If we're spotted, they'll attack primarily by charging and trying to trample us, so taking them out while they're at a distance will be key if we do have to engage. "
Changing the image to that of another beast, Nessa explains, "We might encounter one or more of these big boys as well. They prey on the tulrus, so the island is naturally a hunting ground for them. Their size means we should have plenty of advance warning if one is nearby. There isn't a lot of information on them in terms of taking them down. Avoid the tail, obviously, otherwise, she shrugs, when in doubt aim for the head with the strongest weapon you've got. Last but not least we have, the image changes once more, this charming . . . thing. A jundak. The adults are big, ugly and dangerous. Nothing, she smiles confidently, we shouldn't be able to handle though. They start out, however, as a small parasitic organism, so we'll be sure, she looks at Gram to indicate he'll be responsible for this part of the mission when the time comes, to have everyone thoroughly checked out by the med team before we make for orbit."
Shutting the image down, Neassa says to Hans, "We'll be using standard three-man fire team tactics on the island when scouting for Kaldera. Staggered column formation, fifteen meters apart at all times. I'll be on point, then Inferno, and you'll be in the drag position to give you the longest possible range for engaging any targets to our 12 o'clock. Picking up her buy'ce and holding against her left side, Neassa concludes, I think that covers it. Let's go catch up with Inferno and get him up to speed. Looking at Gram, she says, Comm me as soon as you start getting the feeds from the R-4's and get your scanning crews started on getting me a picture of the current situation on the island. Nodding to Hans, Neassa lifts her buy'ce onto her head as she starts for the door, saying, Let's move out.

After stepping off the lift on the appropriate level with the Hangar Bay, Inferno was practically skipping down the corridor. He truly lived for this kind of excitement; venturing onto some brand new world with various dangers. Tossing a Sith into the mix was a bit unnerving for the clone, but he'd get over that... probably. His train of thought halted and he caught himself walking in place for a moment as he passed by one of the ship's various airlocks. His interest piqued, the clone took a few steps backward, realigning himself with the door to the airlock, and thoughtfully peered inside. "This could work." He stated after a moment. Then, after manipulating the controls for opening the internal passageway, stepped inside and resealed the cabin. "I've kind of always wanted to do this," He said a bit giddily as he glanced out into the open space just outside the external doors. A small conundrum annoyingly crept into his head, however, as he scrutinized the inner walls of the airlock for a few moments. "Okay... how do I open the outside thingy?' <<Those controls are on the corridor wall outside of the airlock.>> The voice in his head chimed in. <<Most likely to avoid people accidentally doing something stupid like, oh, I don't know, launching themselves into open space....>> "Well that's all well and good." Inferno conceded. "But what if those people want to do something stupid on purpose?" <<I would imagine that type of thing isn't normally encouraged....>> "So I just have to wait for someone to jettison me outside then?" The clone huffed in disappointment, "that doesn't sound very practical..." Folding his arms over his chest, Inferno leaned against the wall of the airlock cabin and waited expectantly for someone else to walk by on their way to the Hangar Bay so that he could attempt to talk them into pressing the controls for opening the 'outside thingy', thus releasing him from the ship. All in all he anticipated that it would be incredibly fun, so long as he could manage to get through the waiting portion...

Hans nodded and threw a quick salute, mostly out of habit as this wasn't the Republic military, but there were still some of those old ones that he hadn't really broken. With that, the briefing was over and he slung his rifle over his shoulder and followed Shepherd out of the comm room. He understood everything well enough and had plenty of experience with the battle tactics and formation outlined in the briefing. Now to see if they could get Inferno up to speed and then they could get this mission started.

After the meeting he felt much better about the operation mainly for the reason that he would not actually be leaving the ship. He was especially glad of this once Shepherd had shown a few pictures of the local "wildlife" if they could sill be classified as such, might as well just call them monsters and get it over with. With those things out on the surface of the planet he didn't mind at all staying in the ship watching the feeds from the recon droids and apparently from Shepherds armor. He never had soely payed attention to sensors before, most of the time he had an astromech or a RIO to do that for him but he had his job to do and he would make sure it got done.
He made his way back from the meeting room and back to the bridge taking his seat back at the helm. Assuming Shepherds last comment was an order to bring them to the planet he kicked in the CR90's impuls engines and brought them out of a stationary orbit of Lefrani and straight for an intercept course with Mustafar. He started laying in landing coordinates to land at the Island where presumably they were going to find this Sith that they had come here to find. During the short journey on impulse between the planets Gram informed the bridge crew, specifically the two officers in charge of the short and long range sensors of what they needed to know about the mission. It was not long before the CR90 reached its target planet and Gram began the process of entering the atmosphere and the ship started descending towards the surface.

Inferno tapped his foot impatiently inside the airlock cabin, growing more and more exasperated with each passing second. "I can't believe no one has come by yet!" He finally uttered. "How long has it been now?" <<Eight minutes.>> The clone let out an irritated groan; he never had been one for waiting any amount of time, regardless of how embarrassingly short-lived his lingering about had actually been. "What am I supposed to do if no one shows up?" <<Well, you could use the Force to manipulate the controls from here....>> The voice in his head casually suggested, causing Inferno to stop and consider this option. "I can do that?" <<In theory, yes.>> "Why didn't you mention this before?" <<Because I hadn't thought about it in the previous post....>> "Oh." The Echani had made up his mind by now, and reached out via the Force in order to trigger the controls to open the airlock. "I really hope this is going to be as fun as I think it's going to be..." The airlock released and opened, and Inferno was abruptly drawn out into the vacuum of space. Swiftly enveloping himself within a Protection Bubble to compensate for the lack of oxygen as well as the obscenely low temperatures of open space, Inferno drifted away from the CR90, but managed to alter his course through Force Flight so that he was traveling toward the planet Mustafar. <<This is definitely power juggling....>> "So what? Don't distract me while I'm breaking the rules." The clone barked at himself while maintaining his focus on keeping the Bubble around him stable. It wasn't long before he began entering into the planet's atmosphere, and then the issue with being obscenely cold become substantially nonexistent... His arms outstretched to either side of him, Inferno burned violently through the atmosphere, the barrier around him screaming white hot as his attention and energy strained to preserve himself. He could feel a few drops of blood escape from his nostrils and batter the inside of his facial mask, but if he could not afford to lose his protective bubble while in the process of atmospheric entry.

The Skydance winked into existence out of lightspeed and its occupant dove the ship down towards the planet's molten surface, in search for a certain crystal.

Happy to be free from the searingly obnoxious heat of the lava flows, Angel's air-conditioning was on arctic mode as he piloted his ship out into orbit and screamed off into hyperspace.
