Trailing ash and smoke, a crimson coloured AIAT/i rocketed out of Mustafar's atmosphere and took to the void. Once clear of the planet's naturally formed gravity well, it made the lightspeed jump to hyperspace, streaking towards the Core.

With Xitan's opening move beginning the conquest of Mustafar, the Dark Fleet started to deploy out its waves of starfighters from the carrier refits. Gunship and Missile Boat refits started to unload their arsenals upon the Blackguard Remnant Fleet that sat protecting the former throne world. Marr-Class Devastators jumped in from hyperspace, running their attack approaches, and then disappearing into hyperspace once more. It was in this moment that thousands of pairs of red glowing eyes lit up across the Felstorm, revealing that the Star Pyramid was not covered in some new armour system but rather in Vulture Droids and their variants. The shimmering mass of fighters launched off their mothership and charged into the fray, with a large number of them falling to the enemy's opening salvo. Those that survived kept onwards and engaging enemy fighters in dogfights, whilst the bombers made runs on the capital ships to weaken and bring down their shields

As the battle of Nur continued on, more segments of the Dark Fleet were able to shift their focus from the forces near the moon to the main Blackguard Fleet over Mustafar itself. The C-9979 Modular Frigates had already been dealing with the fleet without too much power imbalance, however the missile boats were starting to pull back from the conflict to dock with the Felstorm and get their wing attachments changed out for ones that were stocked up with fresh supplies before launching back into battle again. The processes best record was around 15 minutes, although that time varied greatly depending upon a number of factors. A number of C-9979 Base Configurations pushed around the fleet, using the distraction of the battle to use the edge of their formation to made for the surface of Mustafar. fighters broke off from the main swarm upon the defending fleet to help provide escorts in case any of the commanders tried to make a play on the surface assault forces

With the last of the naval forces loyal to the rebellious Favoured struck down, The Felstorm moved away from the moon of Nur and focused its attention upon the Blackguard Fleet over Mustafar proper. With the aide of the remnant fleet now under Travis Slane's command, the Blackguard forces would find themselves overwhelmed enough that landing transports were being launched. From the Felstorms main hangar bay a Command Refit of the C-9979 Modular Frigate appeared and made for the surface, with the Felstorm taking pained efforts to ensure its protection, for the Supreme Leader was currently aboard it as it made for the Dark Obelisk to bring about the fall of what remained of the Blackguard

Having done his duty on Mustafar, Xitan was planning to make a hyperspace jump towards Dathomir when the commander on the bridge of his personal warship communicated with him as he entered orbit. It seemed that the Supreme Leader wished to speak with the Acolyte on his vessel, the Felstorm. The Star Pyramid loomed over Mustafar among the wreckage of the battle which tore apart the defending fleeting. Keying his console, Xitan took over manual control and flew his Annhilator-class towards the great vessel. Flying past patrols, Xitan imagined this would have to do with the dealing of the Favored on the moon of Nur. His troops were already beginning to garrison the moon for future usage by the Sith.
Getting approval to land in one of the ships large hangar bays, Xitan flew in his starfighter, landing it before shutting the whole thing off. The trip to Dathomir would have to wait for now as the Acolyte got out of his cockpit and proceeded to find who he was supposed to meet that would take him to the Supreme Leader.

The Felstrom was a flurry of activity as Transports and C-9979's moved to and fro between it and Mustafar. Droid Legions were being deployed across the planet to secure the iron grip upon the planet. More C-9979's were starting to appear from hyperspace as they carried precious cargos of droids and organic slaves whom would be put to work operating the Molten Mine and when their service was done, would act as fuel for one of the many Forge Worlds. Aboard the Felstorm, the chaos of battle and organisation was only as prevalent as Valefor allowed it to be. Where it came to the Hangar Bay that Xitan's Annihilator-Class Starfighter had been guided to, such chaos was a far off dream. Several Droid units consisting of various B2 Models, Droideka's, and B1 Models stood at attention. The Anubian Guard formed up on either side of path toward the hangar doors and there, waiting in person, was the Supreme Leader himself.
His business ground side had been attended to, with the Dark Obelisk now shattered and the last remnants of the Blackguard Reborn burned to ashes. Mustafar would soon be up and running as the Molten Mine soon enough, but before any of that could happen there remained one thing to take care of. The Coup had created a number of voids in the power structure of the Sith Eternal after some traitors had been attended to and had found a number of missing Lords. Today, he would correct one of those newly created voids Darth Xitan, welcome aboard the Felstorm. I apologise for interrupting your escape from Mustafar, but I promise I will not take up too much of your time. Tell me, Favoured, do you believe yourself properly and correctly ranked amongst the Eternal?

Just as the former regime had done its best to keep Dragus close and thus easy to watch, seemed they didn't do that with Valefor. The late Supreme Leader had proclaimed him the master of their industry and manufacturing, ensuring that Valefor was granted the means to build his private army quickly. Or, perhaps, this was all according to plan by his predecessor. Xitan had not been present for the coup, so he was not fully aware of the details, beyond the reports and what Sirona had told him. Yet, when the new Supreme Leader addressed him and inquired to his belief of his place among the Sith Eternal, it did cause the Acolyte's eyebrow to go up slightly.
The Sith had been from one end of their territory to another. Subjugating Ryloth alongside Dragus, bringing force sensitive Wookiees back from Kashyyyk, conquering a handful of worlds for the Sith Eternal's future... some whispered that his association with Dragus did ensure he was hindered, given the Council's abrasive attitude towards him. However, Xitan wondered if there was more to it. A wider picture that was hidden by curtains. An answer that he would never get moving forward.
I was told, upon coming here, that those who prove themselves will be rewarded. Merit over bloodline, action over word, loyalty over sycophants.
And yet...
In the end, the sycophants were rewarded more so than those who were capable.
Considering those that Xitan had killed on Nur. He had known a few of them there were only Favored simply because they were liked and given patronage by the late Melabor and Vullorr. The pair of them had always sought to exert influence and ensure good loyal persons were within the ranks of his peers, a necessary means to ensure their place and the power of the late Supreme Leader.
I have been a Favored for longer than most, Lord Valefor. I have personally slayed my peers upon Nur, I have bloodied their noses, cracked their skulls, and broken their limbs in the fighting pits of Tawntoom, and I have performed duties and deeds that have seen the Sith Eternal's ranks swell and their territories expand.
Xitan was not speaking of what his agents were doing on Eriadu though. They had promised a shiny new title as an achievement of his influence over now two major sectors within this part of the Outer Rim: the pristine shipyards of Sullust and the mighty heart of Imperial civilization at Eriadu. They had planned and schemed, Xitan waved his hand, approving of what they desired to do. However, if the predecessor had known, Melabor and Vullorr would have likely whispered in his heart to crop him at his knees.
After seeing what the Favored had become, Lord Valefor, I would say that I am not where I should be.
In the end, most of them were dead. Killed by blaster rifles, slayed collaborators of Valefor, and hacked to death as Xitan cut them down at the old Inquisitor Fortress.

That would be the question hanging over Valefor for some time yet to come: had this all been apart of Carus' plan? Had the former Supreme Leader and head of Quantum planned for this to happen all along? It seemed unlikely that Carus had plotted to draw the Demon Lord to his side for his own death. No, Carus had likely drawn him in but with the intent of destroying the wayward experiment that had gotten free. But thus far the old man's strength had failed him, and Carus crown now sat safely in the care of Valefor's chosen Loremaster.
He was glad for Xitan's candour, the boy was unafraid to speak his mind as to what he had seen and felt about what had happened under Carus. Whilst he had not personally seen Xitan's every achievement, Dragus had spoken highly of him and Valefor had kept a close eye upon the battle reports coming in. He gave a solemn nod to the Masked Sith Lord Yes, I do agree the former holder of my title was prone to favouritism and letting loose the leash upon his dogs... Your career and progression has suffered much because of it. But I would see this stone walling brought to an end for the betterment of the Sith Eternal... With Garrax having died, his replacement was Darth Rebellious, but he has gone missing since before the coup. As such we have an opening upon the Council of Seven that would be perfect for you Xitan. I would name you Fist of the Eternal, or perhaps a title you feel more fitting of your new role and responsibilities, assuming you accept of course...

While Xitan would not sing the praise of Darth Carus, he felt that there was more to that picture.
I do not believe it was the favoritism of him, but rather his two lieutenants.
Vullorr and Melabor were well known for exerting their influence whenever they liked. They had sought to block Dragus' many experiments, attempted to curtail the patronage of other members of the Council into the ranks of the Favored. Even going as far as setting up the failure of their so-called compatriot's appointees in order to make room for who they viewed as true and loyal Sith. Loyal to their seats, not that of the Supreme Leader.
Like Vitiate of the Sith Empire, the absence of your predecessor created the issues that caused what has occurred.
Absence created deterioration in the very structure of the Sith Eternal which allowed Vullorr and Melabor to do as they pleased. It is true that they were utterly loyal to the late Supreme Leader, but they still ensured friction for the sake of their benefit. They were a small part of the stars and such issues could lead to disaster. As a result of this, the coup had left the Sith Eternal licking their wounds, having lost many Favored and others to the protocols of the pair in the end.
Beneath his mask, Xitan's eyebrow arched slightly when there was a mention of an open position and that such a post was being offered to himself by Valefor. Was this a means to leash him or was this truly a way to secure the loyalty of his person. Xitan held firm and strong loyalties for the Sith Order itself, albeit ensuring he benefited somehow considering the lack of promotion. But there was one thing to consider, wanting to know of Valefor's opinion.
In accordance with the design of the Sith Eternal, only a Sith Master may be named to a council position, Lord Valefor. I am but an Acolyte.

He could not fault Xitan for believing the problem stood with Vullorr and Melabor more when it came to favouritism. Perhaps once Xitan had made his trip to where ever it was he was headed, Valefor might further enlighten the Despot as to the true depth of the rot that had riddled the Sith Eternal Leadership. Carus may have seemed like an absentee father, but it was quite the elaborate ruse for he was keeping a very close eye upon the Eternal under the guise of Xazatar. But such matters were pushed to the side as Xitan spoke again, this time bringing up that only Sith Masters could sit upon the Council. To be quite honest, it had slipped the Demon Lord's mind that despite everything, Xitan had remained an Acolyte. He raised his right hand up to scratch as his chin as he considered the comment Yes, I do suppose that might present an issue... Assuming of course such an overlooked mistake was not rectified. I'll admit I am surprised that you have remained as such for so long and that Lord Dragus did not elevate your rank. After all, he did raise your linked paramour to that of Sith Master alongside my daughter... But I suppose even he recognised the limits of his own position back then. He reached out both of his hands and clasped Xitan by the shoulders. There was not exactly a formalised ritual by which one raised an Acolyte to Sith Master quite like the Jedi had. Perhaps it was something which Valefor might help rectify for the Eternal going forward As Supreme Leader of the Sith Eternal, I name thee, Darth Xitan, Sith Master. You have languished too long under a title of subservience to those weaker than you. You stand now as an equal, not as a favoured, but as a Sith Lord, as you should have for quite some time now. You are the master and decider of your own fate. I hope you accept my offer, else I fear I will have to find someone much less deserving of the title to sit upon the Council instead...

First time one addressed Sirona as a paramour. Dragus had mentioned a 'close connection' when they had concluded their adventure upon Roon, even whispered a tease about how the Saurian had noticed Xitan watching her suddenly and more often. And, at present, he was to go off and meet with the very same Sith Lady on Dathomir. In truth, nothing romantic had happened, then again, nothing formal had occurred either. There were times that he felt himself looking at Sirona for a long while, but never speaking. Other times, as he trained, the Sith had felt someone watching him... and he knew who it was. And then the rare moments where Xitan even thought of her.
The formality of anything had not occurred considering the stars that separated them at present. Xitan had kept off of Roon for many months now while Sirona was upon the Nullus Beacon. Many a time, they spoke and conversed through their 'connection'. Most of the time this was sudden considering the understanding of what it was was still developing. Only recently, as of before departing Mustafar, had they realized one boon to its existence. His mind began to wander now, thinking for a moment and allowing thoughts to rise before being snapped out of the daze that the Sith was finding himself in.
Valefor had clasped his shoulders after speaking. There was a bit of blur in which he spoke, mentioning Sith Master, elevation, Lord Saurian, and such. It was true that Lord Dragus had elevated Elarinya and Sirona to Sith Master but had not done so for Xitan. Then again, there was this one ticket for anything favor that he had not cashed upon yet. He recalled how tired and sore he was to not care that others had been elevated... an interesting oversight considering his quick temper at times. Refocusing, as Valefor spoke, the Sith exhaled deeply but quietly. He had finally been recognized by others beyond Dragus.
Xitan was now Sith Master. He was no longer the Acolyte of the Favored. An Acolyte among the Sith ranks. He was now Sith Lord.
I will accept your offer to join the Council, Lord Valefor. Given the new era, I will change the name of Fist to that of Executor.
A title used to denote a supreme military authority during the Dark Empire, a period in which the Emperor was reborn and sought to reclaim the galaxy from both jealous Imperials and the weakened New Republic. Executor sounded somewhat more... fearsome than Fist in Xitan's views.
I show my gratitude to you, Supreme Leader, for granting me these boons.
His masked face bowed slightly before raising his gaze upward once more.

He clapped Xitan's shoulders again, giving them a squeeze as a smile spread across his face. There were few others amongst the Sith Ranks whom had conquered quite as much territory and proved as successful. Valefor and Dragus both held more territory, but neither of them could serve as Executor. After Xitan... Well, he was pretty certain Elarinya would not have wished to serve as Fist/Executor under his command. He let go of Xitan and motioned back towards the Annihilator-Class Starfighter Excellent! With our business settled, I shall waylay you no longer, Executor... Be on your way once more.
