The place of residence for Inquisitor Zariel and her daughter, Reya. This residence is one of the most well defended locations on the planet. Guarded by not only some of Zariel's most loyal and skilled troops, it also boasts a powerful shield generator and armor. The automated defenses are nothing to underestimate either. Some guess that if you attached engines to it, it could take on a mid sized capital ship. But of course it is difficult to be certain, for details about the residence are far and few between. Area's that have been confirmed (beyond the usual for a residence) are a highly advanced training arena, a vault, and armory. Other locations that can be guess at include a torture chamber, a Darkside shrine of some kind, and some kind of listening post. The Inquisitor entertains guests rarely, so few have entered the Palace that would spill any details. The only way to access the Iron Palace is by ship, via a trio of landing platforms.

Zariel, after a day of seeing to her duties, entered the dungeons of her personal residence. Currently only one prisoner was deemed valuable enough to be here instead of the Cathedral. A rather stubborn Lightspawn that had multiple times been beaten and tortured to near death, only to be revived again. Valon would sense the approaching darkness. The Inquisitor was ready to see if anything else could be learned from him, or if she would need to bring in help from her Eye of the Inquisition. She had plans for this creature, plans that required him alive, and as pliable as possible. So she sought to break his will. Are you ready, Lightspawn? Down here in the safety and privacy of this personal space, she could let her cold exterior drop. It revealed herself, someone of a cruel nature, who reveled in the suffering of others. No need to protect or hide her intentions behind her stoic and cold mask. I'd hate for you not to see this coming. She lowered the barrier between her and her soon to be victim and let out a barrage of Force Lightning. A painfully familiar feeling for the Lightspawn. Though she enjoyed feeling his suffering, Zariel was always careful never to over do it, lest she risk killing him and losing this valuable asset.

Valon was awoken by the all too familiar approaching presence of Zariel. Time had continued to meld together further and further, causing him to lose any sense of its meaning. His body felt broken and scarred, while small fractures and cracks were starting to form in his mind. Her constant assaults and berations were endless, but he knew he had to continue to resist. He pushed himself up into a seated position in the back corner of the cell, still not yet accustomed to this new setting. Where before he had the vague sense of being surrounded by the void and the gentle steady hum of machinery moving a vessel through it, he now felt something different. The hum of machinery was gone, and he sensed life around him at the edges of his consciousness.
He was no longer on the ship, but what place he was on, still escaped him. However, any further thought on the matter was soon pushed far to the side as Zariel came into view. Taunting him about whether he was ready. He remained silent and stoic, staring her down with his glowing golden eyes as she drew closer and closer. As soon as the barrier fell, he barely glimpsed the lightning crackling forth from her finger tips before it was coursing through his body. Sparks of electricity arced across his body from metal plate to metal plate. Wracking his form with pain as he instinctively tried to curl up. But such a natural defensive mechanism did nothing to protect him from the barrage. He could do little else but let out a bestial roar of pain

Zariel sighed as she finished her barrage. Seeing such a mighty creature, brought so low by her was gratifying. It was like a little child, curled up like that. She stepped across the threshold of the cell and delivered a swift but painful kick to the Lightspawn. You know, Kick, even if you don't tell me kick your secrets, I will find a use kick for you other than one more kick a punching bag. She knelt down next to him and gave his muscular form a look over before laughing and shaking her head. Her laugh was cold and rarely used. It would send chills down lesser beings spines. You may think yourself strong and a champion of light, but I will find a use for you that betrays everything you stand- oh no, not stand; everything you cower for! She stood back up and lorded over the creature. Not so over confident as to not be ready for physical retaliation, but still like a trophy hunter over their rarest kill.

Even as the barrage let up, Valon continued to twitch for a few moments afterwards as the electricity continued to course through his body. His mind was too distracted and wracked by pain from the electricity that Valon barely noticed Zariel cross into the cell. But he definitely felt her presence as she delivered five kicks into his body. Each one eliciting a deep groan of pain. But as she knelt down, he turned his face to look up into those cold blue eyes. Were he not in so much pain, her cold laugh might have sent chills down his spine as she continued to taunt him.
He pushed himself up as she rose to her feet, drawing upon his reserves of strength to lift himself up half off the ground As I've told you before... I have no secrets... Valon continued to struggle to his feet, getting his hoofs beneath himself before pushing off the ground and rising to his full height. Pain wracked his body as he stood there huffing. It was an excruciating effort, and no doubt would not last long before she put him back down None that will be of use to you... So torture me, break me down... But I have nothing for you... You wouldn't even know what to do with the knowledge you think you seek, even if I told you... Your heart is too filled with darkness... So try your best, but your darkness cannot wield the light...

Zariel sighed, amused, as she watched the creature bring himself up to full height. The half smile on her face as he continued to speak, spoke volumes as to how little she regarded him as a threat in this moment. She waited a beat after he finished speaking. Are you done? Without waiting for a reply she delivered a punch, likely heightened by the Force, straight to his gut. As he no doubt doubled over in his weakened state, she followed up by raising both hands above her head, clasping them together, and bringing them down on his back. This would bring him to his knees and in prime kick position. An opportunity she could not, and did not, pass up. Once more, beaten onto the floor, Zariel didn't kneel down to his level, instead staying above him.
You simple beast. All knowledge, Dark and Light, has use to me. Even if I can wield your secrets or not, knowing them alone gives me strength your pathetic mind couldn't grasp. So if you thought to dissuade me with your little speech, you will be sourly disappointed.
Satisfied with the beating she had delivered, she left the cell and reactivated it's barrier. And without a glance back she strode from the room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Several minutes latter, Reya entered the dungeon, the guards that had returned to their posts after Zariel left attempted to protest her being their. These guards didn't respond well to mind tricks, being some of Zariel's best. So Reya got creative with a lie that she had been sent to try her luck. The guards, not wishing to risk upsetting the Inquisitor, left promptly as the young woman made her way to the prisoner. She hadn't seen him since the incident on the Asmodeus. Standing in front of the cell, she crossed her arms and looked down at Valon, disappointment attempting to conceal concern marked her face. Why don't you just tell her what she wants to know? You must know she wont stop?

The punch that came was not unexpected, but Valon could do nothing to stop it. He groaned in pain as her fist connected with his gut, causing him to double over, before the second strike she delivered brought him to his knees as she intended. His breathing became more labored as she kicked him, forcing the wind out of his chest. Causing Valon to dry heave some blood onto the floor at Zariel's feet. He gulped down several mouthfuls of air as he managed to raise his head and watched Zariel leave. Part of him wanted to something further, but he was in too much pain to reply further
When Zariel left, Valon had retreated to the back of his cell and turned to meditation. Drawing upon the Force to help recover from the beating the Lady Inquisitor had dealt him. At least, that was, until he sensed a presence approaching that he had not felt in a long time. Or what felt like a long time to him. Valon really wasn't sure how many days or weeks had passed since his meeting with Reya aboard that ship. He opened his eyes and set his golden gaze upon the young girl as she stood in front of his cell I know she will not stop, it's her nature to keep pushing, but she will never learn what she wants from me... Even if she were to break me, I do not have the answers she seeks... Valon raised his hand and examined the work that had been done to him Anyone that knows how I was made is dead... Slaughtered by those outsiders... He let out a pained sigh as he lifted his gaze back to Reya once more It's... good to see you again Reya...

Reya couldn't hide the disappointment on her face as Valon offered his explanation. So he would forever be tortured, simply because he didn't know anything. She moved, and sat next to the force field. Looking at the being on the other side. It was hard to imagine the suffering he must have and still endures. But she tried her best to keep a neutral face. In truth, Reya had come here as a sort of test for herself. To see if she could resist the temptation of the Light. But her curiosity continued to get the better of her. You are a strange being. Why do you not lie? Make something up? Try to stop the pain?

Her expression of disappointment was plain to see, perhaps hoping he might reveal the truth to her or be fighting for something worth hiding. Perhaps if he had known the truth, he might have imparted the knowledge to Reya so that it would not die with him. But the opportunity for that was long gone. Instead, he watched as Reya sat down next to the force field and looked at him. Valon wincing every now and then as some subtle shift or another in his posture caused pain to lace through his form. He raised an eyebrow then, as she asked him why he didn't lie Do you truly think me capable of lying so convincingly? Or that your mother would even believe me if I did lie? She's a smart woman and would be able to see I was lying. And even if I did come up with something to appease her... then what? Do you truly think she would stop torturing me? If she is not questioning me about how I was made, she will find something else to question me about... He let out another pained sigh, knowing that so long as he remained her prisoner, she would torture him without end. especially when she realized that he was incapable of turning to the darkness. Or perhaps she already worked that out and hoped to use the knowledge of his creation to corrupt him Besides, it is better that I suffer the pain of being the target of her anger and malice, rather than it be directed at someone unsuspecting or undeserving...

This creature was infuriating with his honor and stubbornness. You clearly don't know my mother if you think you're the only one she tortures. Perhaps you're one of the few any more she personally does, but she has a host of others to do acts of violence at her command. The thought of the things that happened in the Cathedral sent a slight shiver down her spine, but then she seemed to catch herself. Standing again, in a similar panic to the one she had had on board the ship, she was feeling pity and wished to show mercy to her mother's victims. But that was not the way of the Darkside, not how she had been raised. You! You're doing something to me! You must be! She cried out in anger and confusion. All your talk of the lightside! You're getting into my head!

You're right, I do not know her. Only that which I have seen of her... It was certainly true that she had others beneath her command that would commit any act of madness ordered of them. Her cruelty knew no bounds, and those that served her would undoubtedly be willing to go as far as her. But the fact remained, even if he did lie to Zariel, she would know he was not telling the truth. And for that, he suspected she would only torture him far worse as a result. He let out a pained sigh, before his attention was drawn to Reya. The smallest shiver ran down her before she stood up and seemed panicked, accusing him of doing something, of trying to get into her head You really think I have the power left to be able to affect you? Your mother as tortured me to within an inch of my life for weeks on end... What strength I have is used to heal and recover... Perhaps it seems as if I am getting into your head because there is a light within you that hears what I am saying and sees what is being done and does not agree with it... The light calls to us all, some are just able to block out its message... Valon grabbed at his chest then, as a great pain came over him causing him to double over on the ground. Images of a world far away flashed before his eyes. It did not look like his home world. He did not know where exactly this place was. But the visions appeared as clear as day. A landscape seemingly devoid of any life. Rocks and sand spread out to the horizon. Before him was a massive valley filled with large stone carvings of faces and people. But just as soon as the vision came, it was gone again. His eyes, which he had closed tightly from pain, slowly opened back up. His breathing was laboured as he slowly looked around and taking in his surroundings. Still trapped within the cage Zariel had placed him in. He slowly lifted his gaze back up to Reya

Reya froze as she listened and then watched Valon. He spoke of a light within her, but it was impossible, she had done her best to suppress such weak thoughts. But here she was, now fighting with herself to not help this creature that seemed to have doubled over in pain. Her mind was racing and soon she found herself only half knowing what she was doing. The forcefield was lowered and she was crouched next to the Lightspawn trying to replicate her actions on the ship, trying to heal him. Do- do- don't move. She could almost not even get the words out of her mouth. How could this be happening? What was she saying? I'll- I'll try and keep my mother distracted for the next few days, so that you have time to rest.

Valon had only been dimly aware of the forcefield lowering, but he felt the healing flows of the Force wash over him as she crouched at his side. He extended his hand out, supporting himself as he remained huddled on the floor. He made no attempt to move even as she commanded him to remain still. He turned his head to the side as he gently placed his free hand upon her shoulder, a look of concern upon his features Did you not see that? A valley somewhere... Filled with stone figures... I... His grip upon her shoulder seemed to tighten before relaxing as he processed her words and the risk she was going to take. His look of concern slowly faded and softened into a smile Th-thank you Reya... But... Please be careful... I have had a life and raised a family. But you... You are still young and filled with possibilities... Do not unnecessarily risk yourself to give me another day of rest... He lowered his hand from her shoulder then, taking another laboured breath

There was a moment of fear as Valon grabbed hold of her. It was the fear of a small fragile creature that was in such close proximity to a much larger one. But the fear soon ebbed away as her present became her focus once more. A- A valley? A vision? No... I didn't see anything... After a few more moments her hands dropped back to her side as she fell back into a sitting position. Her strength had been sapped away. And don't worry about me. My mother may be many things, but she is still my mother and she does love me.

As Reya fell back into a sitting position, Valon leaned to his side and slipped into a sitting position of his own opposite her. The pain he felt had lessened, but he was still too weak to do much more than sit there opposite the woman that had helped him. He silently noted her response that she had not seen anything that he had. Confirming his suspicion that the light had indeed shown him a vision of something. But what and where it was eluded him. And even though she said not to worry about her, he could not clear the worried expression from his face She is indeed your mother and does love you, but... That does not bring me any comfort. Love is a powerful emotion and has been used to justify a great many things, both good and evil... Valon could hardly begin to imagine all the things Zariel was capable of. Even his limited experience had shown a willingness to go as far as was required to get what she sought. If Zariel thought the Light was threatening to overcome the darkness in her daughter, it was not a stretch to believe she would stamp it out. Even if it was painful, she would consider it a mercy to save her daughter from the Light. Such thoughts were troubling, but he did his best not to let them show too much as he turned his attention back to the Vision he had Perhaps I could ask just one small favour of you... What I saw... It was not somewhere I had ever been before... Perhaps... Perhaps you might aide me in figuring out what or where it is?

Reya waved off Valon's concerns. She was confident in her mother's love of her. But then the question of if she would help him locate this mysterious valley of his was brought up. A valley with some statues? That's not much to go on. Was their anything else? Any feelings? Any sign of life forms?

Valon let out a thoughtful hum as he closed his golden glowing eyes and tried to recollect the vision of the valley. He tried to recall the valley and the statues, trying to remember anything he might have missed in the moment I saw... Sand and stone... And... Hmmm... It is strong with power... The Force... He opened his eyes once more, feeling somewhat disgruntled by how little he could recall. Perhaps the vision would return to him again, or perhaps he would never touch it again. If Reya was true to her word, perhaps he could make use of these next couple days to meditate on and try relive the vision once more The connection was weak and it was over in a flash. I will endeavor to try learn more. But that is about all I can recall... It didn't seem like anyone lived there, but... It's hard to describe... Perhaps that will be enough to help narrow it down? I guess not too much... The stars are much larger than I could ever imagine... What seems unique and uncommon on a single world could be infinitely replicated somewhere out there... He motioned up to the roof, and by extension, the billions of stars that filled the night sky

Reya let out a small chuckle, having forgotten that Valon was from a pre-space fairing planet. Yeah, it could be any number of places, a lot of old civilizations have come and gone, leaving huge monuments behind. But if the Force was present, that may help narrow it down. But I'll be back in a few days hopefully with some better ideas, and you might have some better clues. She pushed herself up off the ground and took a step out of the cell. Before putting the Force field back up she paused. The woman looked at it. The cell itself. Was she a prisoner? Was she being lead down a path that was not meant for her? Shaking her head to clear her mind she restored the Force field and left the prison, with one last look back over her shoulder.

Valon looked at Reya as she chuckled, somewhat curious what she found amusing. But he didn't risk asking her about it. Instead, he enjoyed seeing such a moment of joy out of her Hopefully it narrows your list down considerably... I'll see you in a few days... May the Force be with you Reya... Valon remained seated on the floor as Reya got up and stepped out of the cage, noting her moment of hesitance as she seemed to examine his cell. She seemed torn between the Dark and Light. What her mother had taught her seemingly conflicting with something else. He shifted himself into a meditative position as the field appeared once more and Reya headed for the door. He offered her a reassuring smile as she turned back one last time. He focused upon the Light as he closed his eyes, slowly dipping into a meditative state to heal himself and seek out the vision the Force had shown him once again. Hoping to discern new details regarding this Valley and its location

While she had agents hunting for Malachor, Zariel spent her own time attempting to break old and fragmented scraps of Imperial Remnant data. The last vestiges of Jeric's personal logs. Her one time mentor, but more importantly, the one time conqueror of the fabled Valley of the Jedi. This was the prize she sought above all others. The tales of the Empire Reborn using the Valley to fuel their Reborn project, leading to legions of darkside users. This alone was enough to drive her to find the place, however, she also wished to prove herself better than her predecessors, and even claim and hold the Valley for good. Turning it to a proper Imperial stronghold. A final insult to the Jedi. But she could not find the location she sought. None of the encoded messages, journal entries, or ship logs held what she needed. And in her fits of frustration she would find herself returning to her favorite prisoner. The foul Lightspawn she kept in her dungeon. Valon would be subjected to the usual electrocution but also more base and physical beatings. Zariel had long given up trying to extract any information from him, she now simply sought to cause him pain. But for as much as she beat him, Zariel was careful never to go too far. She wanted to prolong his suffering as long as possible.
It became almost predictable that a couple hours after Zariel left the dungeon, Reya would arrive. She would make sure that Valon was alive and able to heal well. But her investigation into what the Lightspawns vision was still not turning up much, but she was finding these visits soothing. The Light was a balm in the world of darkness she found herself surrounded by. But she couldn't let her mother know about these visits. For the sake of Valon. On this particular visit, she sat down opposite him in his cell. She had done what she could for the beating he had received a few hours before. You should feel better in a bit. She's been getting more frustrated lately, and I don't know why...
