*The charric unloads two shots into the lead Wraith's chest, knocking him backwards. The final shoots through the T-visor into his computer and punches his dialysis ticket for a one way ticket back to Mand'a. The other two turn after collapsing the cave entrance, and put their Westar-14's on full auto and aim for Mahir. One jumps in the air firing his jetpack and hovers while unleashing a fury at Mahir as the other does the same in an attempt to prevent him from going airborne to meet the one in the air on a level playing field.* Their response is typical of trained military personnel, and confirms to Shihab that these aren't mere pirates. He ignores the incoming fire and sends three bolts, similarly aimed lo-hi-lo, at his now aerial opponent. Enemy fire splashes off the surrounding debris at first, but quickly home in on Shihab's large form. He tries to use force absorb to nullify the bolts, but he is too distracted and exhausted; and the bolts begin searing into his thick scaly hide, though they don't seem to cause him much pain, at least not at first. By the fourth hit, Shihab is forced to duck back behind the meager cover of the crumbling arch, which immediately begins to shatter under the automatic fire of the mando assailants. The pain was intense, and unlike the his last fight with mando forces, the force was slow to come to his aid. Shihab lets loose a deep roar of pain and utter frustration at his current uselessness, and struggles to maintain consciousness.

*The Two taking on Mahir were pre-occupied on unloading a fierce barrage and forgotten about the Twi-lek. More like an oversight with the immediate threat that Mahir posed and not so much on the other. One deftly maneuvers out of the way of the three shots, but into the shot that the twi-lek fired. It does little as it glances his shoulder as both turn to look. They both land but one goes after Mahir to continue shooting while the other has turned his full attention to the male Twi-lek.*

Crom'nen shook his head, as if signaling to the warrior that now focused on him. He thumbed the switch over to stun, then began for fire rapidly. The armor could absorb many kill shots, but stun might be a separate issue.

Something snaps into place, damn the jedi bigots and their dogma; there are suffering people here and now, I'll do what I can to help these until I die. With that certainty in mind, everything brought to a single point of focus for me at last, after months of growing internal conflict, I can once again access Ashla's light, which I immediately felt as refreshing wave over his entire being, the pain faded, and the burns began to heal. Without giving it a second thought, I break from cover, using the force to guide my aim slightly, I fire the charric one handed, in my left hand, while my right hand rises from my belt with single unadorned metallic cylinder, which I ignite, revealing it to be a midnight blue, single bladed lightsaber.
As the commando's fire follows me, I send it into his comrade's back, seeking once more to draw their attention from the thus far woefully ineffective, yet ballsy, Twi'lek male. Now I thank Adi for the endless hours of practice, especially in Form III, Soresu. Without it I would be hard pressed to do more than carelessly deflect the bolts from myself, and would be trying to hard to think about killing the two soldiers before me, which would limit my use of nearly six decades of experience and training honed instincts. It was these and the guiding hand of the force that I had been force to rely on on Yavin IV, and they served me well in the few skirmishes I had participated in before being ordered to evacuate with my master. I no longer feel any pain, mostly due to adrenaline and naturally produced endorphins flooding my system, though the burns did appear to be visibly healing, though only just noticeably. I had found my second wind.

*Whether sheer luck or bad timing, the one Wraith gets hit by the stun expecting it to be normal fire and goes limp while simultaneously getting hit in the back activating the jet pack and launching a 200 pound Mando straight at the Twi'lek. A living missile clad in beskar. He can't even mumble or scream as the numbess has taken him over. All he can do is gurgle and whimper as he launches a mere 50 feet away staight at the Twi'lek.*
*As for the other, he sees the lightsaber ignite and in one continuous uninterrupted motion, slide his rebreather down, lifts his left arm to his right arm and aims the right arm after activating a firing tube at Mahir and launches a high-pressurized stream of hydrochloric acid in Mahir's direction. The Wraith's westar dangles down on it's sling as he blankets every known surface area that isn't covered in metal.*
*Meanwhile Dred has flown overhead, taking note of the battle and starts to pick a spot to land his War Droid. The other Wraiths have sent Ghost reinforcements in the area to assist since they haven't responded in the last ten minutes.*

Crom'nen, having once learned to fight Mandos from a Mando, reacted well to the launch. He flopped over onto his back, letting the man sail right over. True, this type of falling knocked the wind out of him somewhat, but at least it did not knock the life out of him.
Meanwhile...
Talon squadron did not wish to be forgotten. They circled back after the War Droids that still remained in the air and opened fire.

As the scene shifts, and power flows through the hands of mando, jedi, and twi'lek alike, Shihab was forced to Take to the air himself, leaping just over the jet of acid, his boots did not react well with the acid, even without a direct hit, flying up and to a ledge that used to be a balcony, about 30 meters from the mando and another 10 meters up off the ground. Shiab switches targets as he leaves the ground, returning the last standing mando's fire, and desperately hoping that this would be finished before more showed up. His endurance was already being tested, and he didn't know how much longer he could function. It was time for a little help from the force, Shihab began gathering it's bright energies into himself preparing to use it to turn the mando's very body against him.

After the battle with the Wraiths was over, Crom'nen went over to one of the bodies and carefully investigated. This one had just what he was looking for, a holocom unit. Crom'nen held up the palm-sized device and inserted a cable from his comlink to the holocom. He activated a program which would bounce the location off of relays, making it appear as if he were transmitting from closer to the epicenter of destruction in the city. Once they got there and discovered the error, it would lead them to another, and another. By the time they traced it, he should have concluded his business.
From there, he turned to com unit around, so that it would initially display the body of one of their fallen soldiers. Then he searched through the presets until he found the one he wanted: the command frequency. This should connect him directly to their commanding officer, whom (unbeknownst to Crom'nen) was headed in a tank directly for the relay which currently hosted his transmission. He then thumbed on the device, making sure it was still showing the body and not enough surroundings to give away his location. Still, his voice should be more than enough.
I have received your message. You may consider this a formal answer.

I have received your message. You may consider this a formal answer. Arkan received the message, he was resting and re-arming in a building near his tank. The progress of the attack had been slow since pirate troops entered the city. The local forces had proven quite formidable in the urban terrain but on the outskirts many slaves had been taken. The Captain had been quite pleased by the whole action, slaves had been taken and terror had been brought to the Outer Rim planet. There was one more thing that he wanted to do while he was on the planet and the person who assist him had just sent him a message. It would be rude not to reply!
Senator Crom'nen I presume? I hope you weren't injured in the little scuffle you seem to have had? You seem to have rejected my offer but my offer was not meant for you. I hope you continue to enjoy watching your planet burn!

Not meant for him? Crom'nen was not nearly so naïve as to believe that they were not after him directly. He knew that the sum bounties on his golden tongue totaled far more than all the slaves that they had taken.
Come now, who do you think that I am? A great fool? No, and I don't believe that you are either. You know exactly who I am.
He turned the camera to face him.
And if you know who I am, than you should be aware that I have two reputations. There is my public face. A charming Senator, elegant, verbose, arrogant. A champion of freedom throughout the galaxy, and a man of great vengeance. Then there is my secret face. Dark, brooding, deadly, and yes, still charming and arrogant. But also practical and business-like. You know that for every slaver that I have stomped out, I had a reason. But for each one I did, there are three more that I did business with. And if you are any kind of business man, than you and I can come to some form of arrangement that will be mutually satisfying.

Shihab knew reinforcements were on the way, and recalling that the twi'lek had come from a tunnel, now collapsed, moved carefully over to it, wondering it would be easily excavated, but the mandolorians had been thorough it would take time to re-open this entrance. Firefek, this was Senator Crom'nen? Well, he was certainly a gutsy fellow. And incoming in five, Shihab moved into the Senator's line of sight, and motioned that it was time to wrap things up and get out of dodge.

The Senator had the Captain's attention now, he finally had a face for the name. Arkan was aware of the Senator's reputation having read about it on the hyperspace journey to the planet, though he was not sure if the Senator was aware of Arkan's. However he had certainly made a good first impression on the Twi'lek and he was starting to like the planet. The only thing he liked more than causing chaos and making money was someone offering to give him money after he had already caused chaos, he smiled under his mask. No-one had seen the Captain's face in a long time but he activated his holo so the Senator could see his mask anyway. He listened and contemplated for a while after Crom'nen had finished speaking and probably adding suspense as a consequence.
What terms do you offer?
His reply was short and to the point. If the terms were not very profitable he would turn the deal down and sack the planet for fun!

Crom'nen grinned, showing his sharp teeth. With the hand that could not be seen on the holocomm, he gestured to the Jedi that he would stay.
You have collected many of my people this day, there is no denying it. Now, when you take them to sale, you shall flood the market, driving prices down. That will hurt your profit margin. Now you could sell them in batches, a few at a time, but feeding and transporting them also costs money. Your trip may not be as profitable as you imagined.
Here is my offer. For the next 48 hours, I will pay three times the current market value for any Twi'lek that is delivered to this planet. For an additional week after that, the price will be twice the market value. From that day forth, I will pay 150% of market value. I believe that is a fair rate.
His expression suddenly turned serious, angry even.
In exchange, my world will be off limits to you. There shall be no more taking my people, or the money stops. There can, however, be consideration of my using my position in the Senate to open up larger worlds to you. Corellia, and perhaps more.
As far as non-Twi'lek go, I only ask that two remain here. There is a girl who is of sentimental value to me. And there is also a Jedi that is in this city. He is to be left to me. He needs to be made to pay for the day's events as a lesson to his kind.

Peetch goola.
I didn't wait for him to finish talking, so maybe they heard me, but huttese was a common language so it was unlikely that they'd be able to get any important information from my short statement. The senator thinks he can talk his way out, fine, maybe he can. But he certainly wasn't about to do it where any enterprising soul with a half decent view could end him. I close my eyes and notice that most of the reinforcements had stopped advancing as they listened to the chatter box, but some were still coming, probably more mandos, so gently lift the crazy senator eight inches over the ground and begin walking quickly towards a gap in the rapidly closing circle, with the senator in tow about a meter behind me.
After a moment's consideration, I cool the air around us, forming a bubble of cool air around us, that should minimize our chances of showing up on an infrared sensor, with all the drifting smoke and burning debris littering the streets to mask the cooler air moving with us. As I move, I don't bother to listen to Crom'nen's words, they are only a distraction to me. The condensation in the cooler air forms a light fog, obscuring the background of the holo-shot. I find a place that looks like it's been cleared recently, and double checking for surprises left behind slip inside the small devastated building. Most of the walls were intact, but the roof creaked ominously, and the windows and doors were all gone, shattered in the fighting.

With the conversation wrapped, Crom'nen disconnected the holocomm. He placed the device in his pocket and drew his blaster rifle. He aimed squarely for the back of the Stenax's head.
Put me down, Jedi, or I shall put you down.

Shihab hears the man and sighs, before suddenly spinning Crom 180 degrees, so the he now faced away from Shihab and would have to aim around himself to target Shihab. He also re-ignites his own blade just in case the sneaky twi'lek can actually pull off the awkward shot, before addressing him.
A guy saves your life, has to forcibly drag your gutsy arse into cover, and you thank him by pointing a weapon at his head. I'm aware that it is customary to greet others here with a present, but I was under the impression lethal presents were frowned upon. I may be your current protector, but you're not my boss, not by a long shot. I'll drop you when, I'm, good and ready too. Until then do you mind telling me what, if anything, was going through your brain when you decided to confront three angry mandos?
I carefully keep watch on the entrances, and notice that most of the life forms seems to be withdrawing for the area. Perhaps it was safe to let the crazy senator go. Unless of course he had a death wish, which I couldn't rule out given the circumstances of our meeting.

This is exactly why the Senator hated the Jedi. The first Jedi he had ever worked with, he was 17, just a Senator's aide. They were sent to hunt down a Sith that was not powerful, but had killed a couple of Senators. When the Sith was defeated eventually defeated after more deaths, Crom'nen was infuriated. He decided to finish the task then and there. The Jedi attacked him, force-pushing him into a wall. He had a couple cracked ribs, and proceeded to shoot at the Jedi for attacking him. In the mean time, the Sith got away, and went on to bomb a medical facility. Those deaths were all on the Jedi's head. The council agreed, and stripped him of the rank of Master. Crom'nen, who had respected the Jedi before that, became disillusioned with the whole lot, who hide behind a code that prevents them from having to think. Their morality is ineffectual and harms the people that they swear to protect.
And here again, he is faced with another Jedi who is responsible for countless deaths, but attacks him instead. Crom'nen's lekku twitched carefully.
You may not have noticed, Jedi, but I saved your life. I had carefully constructed a trap, and you interfered. You believe that you do not answer me, but you are foreign. I am currently the ranking leader on this planet. You answer to me and me only.
One more thing: you are not my protector.
In the shadows stood a small creature. He had some ability in the Force, mostly in one category: a Force ability that matched his species natural ability. He was a defel. He could not be seen, but with his ability in Force Stealth, he could not be sensed either. From outside, he fired through the door and above the Jedi's head, before moving again to not be detected.
Let me down and surrender your weapons. You are under arrest.

The arrogant twi'lek had... ahh who cares, he's a politician, a senator no less, the worst of his kind. Then someone shot at me, well not at me exactly, but in my general direction, I instinctively batted the shot right back at the shooter with my lightsaber, before laughing incredulously at the twi'lek. He wants down, fine, I set him down, still facing a way from me, and settle into defensive stance, my blade covering and slightly crossing my torso, my back to a wall, and grin.
Mayhaps we saved each other's lives, and if indeed you had a trap, it was poorly planned, using yourself as bait with only one man to back you up, even if he is almost undetectable. As for my surrendering, that would do nothing for anyone except perhaps your insufferable pride. I have work to do, as do you. Since you so obviously do not want my help, you may go your own way. I however, do not surrender to anyone for any reason, so take me if you can.

Crom'nen turned to face the Jedi. His expression was not angry, but one of concern.
You're a fool. Do you have any idea what is happening here? He pointed toward the burning portion of the city. That is a Jedi ship. There pirates would kill you, but so would my people. Will you fight all of them? You Jedi think that you are so powerful, so wise, but yet your actions send shockwaves that affect we lowly normal people. You fight wars, but you leave us to clean up your messes. You don't see the people that are hurt, not from your ivory towers. My people are angry. They are out for Jedi blood. I risked my life, as you pointed out, so that I could negotiate for the lives of my people. I'm trying to buy your life as well. You options are surrender to me, as a representative of the Jedi, or you can go to war with the people that you are sworn to protect. Your people have done much damage to my people, and need to pay. I have proved time and again willing to sacrifice myself for these people. Will you do the same, or does your sinful pride not allow you to surrender?

I keep my stance, though my grin fades, he spoke well, but and much of what he said was true. But he was wrong about my options.
Yes, I am a fool. I know the ship, and even watched it engage the smaller pirate ship. Had I known then what I know now of the crew's general incompetence, to say nothing of the apparently comatose Jedi, I would not have left this system in the first place. But I did not, and so I left. Now I am back, to clean up the mess made in, and perhaps by, my absence. The towers you speak of are not mine, any more than the Jedi are my people, but I don't expect you to understand that little piece of Jedi culture anymore than you expect me to know yours. it is because I see the hurting people, that I choose to return, if the people seek my blood, then so be it. I faced and worse threats before, and have no fear for their lives, for my conflict is not with them, or even with you, I will not cause them anymore harm than I already have. My life is not for sale, you can no more protect me, than I can protect you. I do not fear death, and if I die cleaning up this mess, then so be it. You have bargained for their lives, now I work for their livelihoods, you want my people to pay? I understand and agree that we are in your debt, but after the mandolorian war, second only to order 66 in it's effectiveness in purging the Jedi ranks, there are very few left to pay that debt. I cannot pay it myself, but I hope to at least soften the open hostility towards the Jedi so that others might be able to pay it later. I will not go to war with your people, but neither will I leave them to their fates a second time.
