*The space around the planet Empress Teta*

The arrival of a single Victory III-class Star Destroyer was something not entirely new to the Empress Teta system. Long ago, this was one of the territories of the Deep Core Remnant. It had the prideful honor of being the home of the reigning Empress of the First Order, Faina Nikulin. As such, the Emperor came to visit this place of memories. An old reminder of the nation that once ruled within the Deep Core, the first step on the road that he took to the throne that was his. Once position in orbit, a single transport exited and headed planet side, with a squadron of TIEs in tow.

With approval given, the two thousand troops, within the hull of the Victory III-class Star Destroyer, were deployed for the surface of Empress Teta. Upon this day, the banners of the monarchy and the Empire would be waved side by side.

The usual traffic around Empress Teta went too and fro, transporting goods and people along the designated traffic zones, while local enforcement patrols kept Civilian Traffic to specific lanes and areas. Something that was important when a pair of Onager-class Star Destroyer's appeared out of hyperspace, accompanied by the Resurgent II-class Battlecruiser known as Reaper. 11 Lancer-class Frigate's and a pair of Needa-class Corvette's were also dotted around the formation.
The Tyrant and Despot set to work immediately scanning and mapping the traffic in orbit and reporting it to the rest of the fleet. The Onager-class crews reported in that all Orbital Bombardment Particle Cannon's were showing online and green. TIE Fighter crews were also reporting in as preped and in standby mode. The Lancer crews were soon reporting in as well, giving their green to go status. TIE Fighter crews aboard the Reaper were soon reporting in their go status. Information that was all collated and displayed on the holographic display in the middle of the bridge of the Ren Flagship.
Harnan sat upon his throne watching over everything. The Knights were all arrayed around the holodisplay, each one taking in the information on display. This was the first offensive the Ren had undertaken since Harnan rose to Master of the Order. But it was going to change little about the way in which Harnan commanded the battle. Captain John Smith, or rather Admiral John Smith, as his latest promotion put him, would have command of the Naval forces of the Ren for the most part. Despite how much rigour Harnan put the man through, he trusted the Admiral. In fact, he was one of the few Imperials that Harnan liked.
With the fleet in position, they waited for the arrival of Grand Admiral Jenia Kasalle Neith, prepare your ship, once the Grand Admiral arrives, I want you over there and ready to go...

Prior to the arrival of the Ars Moriendi other Star Destroyers would slightly fill up the orbit of the system, repairs and system checks being conducted briefly. One of these ships, that would eventually take it's place near the Ren flagship and the two Onager-class vessels would be none other than the Conservator-class Star DestroyerCharybdis itself, commanded by the expierienced Commodore Paxter Thorne, one of the Grand Admiral's most trusted followers. Although initial plannings considered a vessel of the Pellaeon-class vessel to form up the interdiction field, that would shield the position of the Onager-class vessels and it's escort fleet, once they would enter the orbit of Fondor mid-battle, Jenia's calculations lead her eventually to the belief of trusting this important position to one of her own men, given that the siegebreaker's strike was of the utmost priority.
As the walrus-bearded man overlooked the window port of his bridge, the whole magnificence of the First Order's fleet was covering the Deep Core. From old era vessels of the Imperial-classes, including also a few Imperial-III class Star Destroyers up to a few Imperious-class Star Destroyers and the feared Resurgent-class were present on the battle fleet. Here and there among the smaller Star Destroyers, even a few Venators and two Kasalle Company Convoy Galleons attended the whole meeting. Most likely due to a deal, that the Grand Admiral had struck with her father or by the order of the Ren, when mobilization for the campaign had begun.
Yet most captains, aside from the Grand Admiral, some high-ranking ISB officers and the Ren advisors themselves, didn't even know the attack target yet. While present spies of the Coalition, shouldn't they have been discovered already could solely speculate for what reason they had gathered an entire fleet in the middle of nowhere, the Coalition's attention remained still on the Corellian borders, surrounding the Quellor run and the Froz system to name some of the more important systems in that region. While they believed that the First Order was sending most of these assets to the defense of other borders or deal with internal turmoils, they had met up here for a reason.
As Thorne opened up the communications with the Reaper to report their presence, the sudden appearence of the large Executor-class vessel briefly cloaked the bridge of the Charybdis under a massive shadow. Even from the underside, the Ars Moriendi was a spectacular sight to behold, outshining even the Assertor-class Dreadnaught Ad Gloriam, that had once lead the charge against the Galactic Alliance over Dac. While some of his own officers gazed mesmerized up to this imposing sight, Thorne mostly ignored it though, as he established communications with the Ren. "Lord Ren, Commodore Paxter Thorne of the Conservator-Class Star Destroyer Charybdis reporting. The Charybdis is fully operational and prepared for Order Broken Arrow. Once Operation Ascending Star has started, we will remain on a separate communication channel to inform you of the situation on the battlefield. At the time the Grand Admiral gives the order, we will ready up the interdiction field to close up the very moment our siege breakers show up. Afterwards we are assigned to serve under your command directly for the time of the battle."
Ending the transmission, the Commodore then waited for some time patiently, while the Conservator-Class Star Destroyer sheared out towards it's lonesome spot, right in front of the Siegebreaker fleet. It wouldn't take long now until they were ready to launch the assault. Fondor would fall. And with it soon enough the heart of the Coalition. Of that, the Commodore was very certain.

As you wish, Master... She turned her attention from the holo display and gave Harnan a half bow. She gave Fiora a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder before taking her leave of the bridge and heading to the hangar bay located near the bridge of the Reaper. Several TIE Silencers were sitting on either side of the Wyvern, ready for use by the Ren. She slipped into the leftmost one and took off into the void just as the Ars Moriendi appeared out of hyperspace. It was a behemoth, dwarfing every single vessel gathered so far. Even the Resurgent II paled in comparison. The Coalition could not field anything large enough to challenge the Executor-class. It would be a decisive victory, and the First Order could bring order to the disorderly.
Gripping the controls of her Silencer, she guided the starfighter through the gathering of capital ships and headed straight for the hangar bay of the Ars Moriendi. Her personal codes being transmitted when requested

Harnan's gaze fell upon the display as the Charybdis' IFF showed up and started moving toward the temporary detachment of Scourge Squadron. Even without the small display informing him, he already knew the vessel to be Jenia's flagship when she was not commanding Super Star Destroyers. He was also well aware of the vessels capabilities, given his own flagship when not commanding the Reaper was a Conservator-class as well. It was likely that the Grand Admiral did not trust the Ren to execute her plan and wanted one of her own vessels amongst them to be her eyes and ears.
When the Commodore reported in, technicians got to work updating its status and adding it to the Scourge Squadron battle group for monitoring. Harnan activated the comm link back then Very well, Charybdis. I trust you understand then, Commodore, that going forward your orders will come from myself or Admiral Smith until this operation is over? I will not tolerate an officer under my command that does not understand or agree with this... The Coalition might appear to be crumbling, but Harnan was not willing to take any chances. They had a mission to complete at Fondor, and the Conservator's gravity wells would prove crucial in aiding the Onager's defence. If the Grand Admiral needed assistance, Thorne would need to ignore it

The codes were checked quickly and the TIE Silencer was granted permission to land aboard the main hangar bay by one of the higher communications officers. Most likely authorized briefly by Jenia herself, given that Neith had a short waiting time. As she arrived aboard the Super Star Destroyer, she could already see how things were in motion, several TIE pilots and engineers mainly finishing up some last protocols, while each fighter wing was ready. A myriad of TIE-Xs hang from the ceiling of the bay, inbetween them a regular First Order TIE model at first glance. Yet with an expertised look it didn't take long to realize due to the large radar dish under it's belly that it was one of the recently developed TIE Signals, that were assigned to the regular squadrons of the Ars Moriendi. Taking it's place next to the other Silencers within the bay, where the Knight of Ren would count at least two squadrons assembled, she was only briefly eyed by the present security forces in the form of Imperial Navy Commandos. When she left the vessel, all that remained from these expertised Stormtroopers was a brief salute and them continiueing their regular watch duties. Though feared, each of the soldiers respected the Ren, even if they didn't serve under them directly.
-----
While Paxter Thorne knew that this was probably tied to the inner political games, that the Ren tended to duke out within the Empire's inner circles, he decided to stay formal about the situation. ::The command was handed to you and the Grand Admiral by the Emperor's orders, so I have no reason to object::, he simply stated, ::My task is to scout the location ahead of us and to remain at the edge of the planet's natural gravity well until we have a clear picture of the situation. The safety of your fleet, specifically the Siegebreakers, is of utmost importance for the Grand Admiral, considering their potential. Or would I object with these orders your orders?::
It was a curious question, yet one that would most likely answer itself. From what Commodore Thorne has heard from the Grand Admiral was, that the Interdictor ship was vital for the plan and something on which was agreed on. Furthermore he was also warned of the Knights of Ren's usual mood in situations like these. Probably also another reason why he was chosen. Having commanded an Interdictor-class Star Destroyer in the past, even earlier before he was assigned to a Victory II-class Star Destroyer in Jenia's fleet, Paxter Thorne was a patient officer, that had gotten used to serve on more fragile ships within the Imperial Fleet. To coordinate a ship with a gravity well generator was always a high risk, no matter how strong and imposing it looked. Most captains either tended to overlook the ship's weaknesses during the power drain of the interdiction field and thus realize too late the weakspots within their defense or were too hesitant to actually utilize the ship's full potential, feeling as if they served aboard a moving bomb, that could explode at any moment a starfighter opens fire upon them. Years of expierience in ship battles have hardened Thorne in a way, that despite improved vessels like the Conservator-class or the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyers, he would have also taken up the challenge of leading one of the old Interdictor ships into the battlefield, would the Grand Admiral have required this of him. Yet the Charybdis would be suitable for the task ahead, making the process even easier for him to handle. He would serve as the backline within this battle, once the Onagers would arrive. A token soldier in the unlikely case that the ambush would recieve an ambush from behind. However only, unless he recieved other orders from Harnan Ren and his Admiral himself. In that case they would take the responsibilities, that rested on his shoulders from him for the moment.

Neith deftly piloted the Silencer into the Hangar Bay as directed, noting the clockwork preparations and precision with which the crews attended to their duties. It was impressive to say the least, but not unexpected of her cousin. She was a brilliant commander and one that Neith respected greatly. She docked in the open bay and swiftly made her exit from the ship, returning the salute from the Stormtroopers on duty nearby. Compared to most Ren, Neith had done her best to maintain good relations with most Imperials she served alongside and over. While she knew some hated her or disliked her, she gave them no reason to lean into those prejudices any more than they needed to.
With the salute given, she made her way from the hangar bay and through the many hallways and corridors of the behemoth to its bridge. A task made easier by the holographic minimap displayed on her HUD which gave her the most direct path to her destination. Officers, Crew Members, Droids, and Stormtrooper Patrols were all passed on her way through. Given the massive size of the Executor, patrols were maintained to ensure that any intruders that managed to get onboard were discovered. It also kept the armed forces on alert and practised up until they deployed in battle.
Neith navigated around them and remain unimpeded towards her goal. She strode through the archway onto the bridge a few moments later, coming to a stop close by to where Jenia was currently overseeing everything Grand Admiral... It's nice to see you again...

The Commodore's response was cautious and formal. He made no challenges, only probed to see if Harnan was going to contravene the Grand Admiral's orders with new ones Not at this time Commodore... He cut off the comm link for now, leaving his crew to maintain their reports with the Charybdis. Soon the assault on Fondor would begin, and Harnan would see just how well trained Thorne was. It was unlikely a situation would arise in which a call for help might come down that the Commodore was inclined to respond to. At least those under his own command he knew where their loyalties lie and that they would stay on mission. He wouldn't be overly concerned about this setup, were it not for the significance of the strike ahead

Arriving at the bridge command tower, some of the stationed Imperial Navy Commandos saluted with their blaster rifles as the Knight of Ren passed by them, each of them standing nearly cerimonial in a corner of the room. Knowing her cousin, Neith could probably guess, that these soldiers stood there not solely for parade but rather for guarding her in an extreme situation. This thought would be more confirmed by the far more less visible Novatroopers within the more shadowy corners of the Ars Moriendi's command room, who despite Neith's appearence haven't even moved in a slight bit. Perhaps it was the usual paranoia when it came to assassins, which Jenia had, though her position and events in her past hardly left the Grand Admiral any excuse for not having a fully operational bodyguard around her.
When Neith entered the main room of the bridge, she could see as Jenia talked to a man with the rank plaque of a Senior Commander. "... but either way, tell Commander Lawrence that I have the command within this operation and not Arcavius", she stated calm, "The Emperor expects a swift victory over our target and for the operation I wish the gun crews on the right flank to respond to your command immidiately. If he still disagrees, relieve him from his duties and appoint Senior Lieutenant Herdigg to his position." "Aye Grand Admiral", the elder man stated obedient, only waiting few seconds, before he dared to ask a question, "May I inquire why specifically Lieutenant Herdigg?" By now Jenia had noticed Neith in her back, turning around towards her, as if she wasn't too surprised, before responding towards the Imperial officer. "Because Herdigg had already served during the Battle of Dac aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer Caestus as the main weapons officer and the reports of the Caestus gun crew's target list are proof to their battle expierience and the ability to no question the decisions of their captain. Lawrence is a capable man, but if he disagrees with you, he also disagrees with me, Senior Commander. I need men, who fire in conjoined operations upon the targets I tell them, once I give the order, not glory hunters, who are only firing at the next best targets in range the whole time." "Understood, madame, I'll give him a warning. Section D won't disappoint you. Ad Gloriam, ad victoriam!" Stoic the officer left the bridge, saluting only briefly to Neith, as he was more focused on his duty. Now the Knight of Ren had the Grand Admiral's full attention, as she remained where she was, indicating that her cousin could move over to her.
"I knew that they would send you to assist me, yet to this point I'm not sure if they did you a favor with that, mylady.", she said, remaining so far formal, leaving their talk on a public bridge with several officers bustling around as vague as possible, "I have heard that the Jedi and Sith are capable of battle meditating entire fleets to increase the crew's coordination, just like the Emperor over Endor did and similiar to what the infamous Joruus C'Baoth had done on Grand Admiral Thrawn's command. Yet an Executor-class Star Dreadnaught is far larger than most Imperial Star Destroyers and we count 280,000 crew members aboard, not even counting in the naval security forces and the stationed army garrison, that wait for their time to strike upon the target. How difficult will it be for you to coordinate these forces and potentially to swiftly change this sorcery up to another ship section, if you were sent for that reason? I'm merely asking because the Princess suggested it to me at the Council. And as you know, I'm willing to listen to new ideas and concepts."

Neith gave a return salute to the Navy Commandos, not one to shirk Military Customs and Expectations. Her gaze briefly swept past the Nova Troopers, their positions only revealed to her due to her connection to the Force and the knowledge of how paranoid her Cousin was. She made no move to indicate their positions, lest there was indeed a would-be assassin aboard. The Ars Moriendi was the crown of the First Order, service aboard it did carry additional requirements and expectations. But any system involving people was always prone to exploitation. And with the Executor's size, it was almost impossible to guarantee absolute safety.
She came to a stop a respectful distance away as Jenia wrapped up a conversation with one of her Senior Commander's. Despite their pledge to all serve the same Empire, some Officers had... preferences for their commanders. Politics amongst influential families undoubtedly played a part in this matter. While Jenia might have held a Marquess title, they still undoubtedly looked down upon the Kasalle family as a whole. There was also the matter that Julius had been assigned the Ars Moriendi as his command, so for Jenia to come in and take take that command away likely did not sit well with his Officers. Respect played a huge part in how well crews worked and followed orders they were given.
To that end, Jenia undoubtedly kept a cadre of Officers around her that could be relied upon in such situations where temporary replacements were required. In the heat of battle, petty contrivances would only lead to errors and avoidable defeat. Thus, ensuring these were handled in advanced was a smart move.
As the Senior Commander took his leave, Neith offered a brief return salute before crossing the rest of the distance across to where Jenia was standing. Her gaze scanned the bridge in front of them, watching the officers and technicians at their stations. The gesture was meant to deter anyone from eavesdropping upon them or letting themselves get distracted My Master assigns people as he deems fit. Better me, though, than the Young Princess upon your bridge, no? While Neith had not been present for the war planning meeting, Harnan had filled her in upon the details. Suffice it to say, the picture her Master painted of Jenia's feelings toward Fiora was not flattering. Her gaze didn't falter from the crew as they continued their works as her Cousin questioned her about Battle Meditation The Executor might be larger than most ships, but Battle Meditation isn't so... narrow. It links the caster with all the hearts and minds of every ship within range, filling them with a greater sense of purpose and confidence. Even when defeat seems likely, they will fight to the last instead of retreating or surrendering prematurely. On the opposite scale, the crews of enemy vessels feel their will falter. With the right equipment, They can even be made to see enemy ships where there are none, and see no enemies where they actually are. Unfortunately we don't have a Meditation Sphere aboard, so I won't be able to conjure up ghost ships. But you'll find your crew a lot more compliant and focused with their orders... That goes for not only the Ars Moriendi, but the rest of the vessels within your battle group... Palpatine and C'Baoth were certainly impressive figures, but even their efforts paled in comparison to what the Sith of old could do. Neith just regretted that she would not be able to demonstrate her full capabilities If possible, Grand Admiral, perhaps I might be able to make use of your quarters in the coming battle. The bridge is going to be on high alert, and I'm going to need somewhere I can focus...

"You can use any of the quarters below the bridge, taking the elevator", she stated solely, pointing over towards the security foyer, where most of the communication consoles were, "So far I have only utilized Arcavius' former quarters, so don't expect too much." Like her own quarters aboard the Charybdis the Fleet Admiral's quarter room was clean and sterile, offering only space for necessary storage rooms and at best a small bust of none other than Emperor Nicademus himself. "Alternatively you could utilize the Imperial Throne Room though", Jenia then added as another suggestion, "As you might know, most Imperial-Class and Super-Class Star Destroyers have always a pre-built-in throne room, a leftover from Palpatine's times as Emperor. Wheras Nicademus has changed with the First Order many of these customs, the Executor-class was also among the ship lines, that were expected to be visited by the Emperor and the refit still features the room layout, including the view ports from where you could also see the battle directly. Those that still view Palpatine as a hero would call my suggestion outrageous, but we live in more practical times and the First Order is more than the Galactic Empire could ever have hoped to be. And our Emperor would see the tactical benefit." She made a brief pause before continiueing. "Some forces under General Ares' command, his Novatrooper platoon and a few Elite Dark Troopers are stationed there, yet they are few and you can tell them to leave, if their presence disturbs you. I only chose the location for them, because it is the easiest access point for the Stormtrooper transports in the main corridor halls, should the ship be boarded by unwelcome guests, that our regular troops can't handle." Jenia didn't know whether other Imperial navy officers also utilized on the larger ship classes hovercraft transport vehicles in order to bridge the distances between larger ship sections, yet given the length of the Super Star Destroyers it was in her eyes mandatory, if her soldiers shouldn't get exhausted by marching marching several kilometers to a security breach location, just to realize that those they are looking for had already moved on.

She finally turned toward Jenia then, noting the elevator that her cousin pointed out would provide access to a number of quarters just below the bridge. In truth, Neith didn't need much from a room for meditation. In fact, the emptier it was, the better it would be. She turned her focus back to Jenia as her cousin then suggested using the Throne Room aboard the Executor. She raised her eyebrow, hidden behind the mask, out of curiosity. She hadn't expected the Throne Room design to have survived Nicademus' rework of the vessel. Assuming no major changes had been made to its design, it would function at least halfway decently as a make shift meditation space The Throne Room will actually be much better... Palpatine designed them to help enhance his powers, similar to what a Meditation Sphere does, but on a much lesser level... It seems an odd choice for Emperor Delvardus to have kept it. As for General Ares and his men, so long as they aren't secret Palpatine worshippers I suspect they'll be fine to stay... The Ren get a bad enough wrap, I do not wish to add to it by kicking your Special Forces out of the Throne Room. Though I suppose the sight of me sitting on the throne may have an equally negative reaction...

"Our Novatroopers have only sworn loyality to Emperor Delvardus and those, that directly serve him.", Jenia stated dry, "General Ares is one of the Stormtroopers that have fought upon various battlefields during the war against the Galactic Alliance, including the assault on Dac before he was promoted and sent to Muunilinst, once the test facility has been made fully operational. His official designation is Novatrooper NTM-001, marking him as the first member of the Novatrooper Division on Muunilinst, but team members nicknamed him 'Ares', making it also easier for us officers to spell out, when it comes to communication." She smiled weakly, actually being quite fond of the project that she had initialized quite some time ago. The Emperor would certainly be proud. "They already form up cadres, that match the abilities of the famous Republic Commandos", she further added, as she watched outside the window port more larger Star Destroyers arrive in orbit, "The Empire had many attempts within the Darktrooper Project, where they tried to create the ultimate soldier... and certainly they have their uses. Yet I would dare to say that our Novatrooper's abilities are even on par with that of the famous Mandalorian warriors. They might even be able to overcome those previously known elite forces of ours, if it would be necessary."

Neith was sure many and more Imperials had sworn their only loyalty was to Emperor Delvardus, but that did not stop them idolizing Palpatine. Many still remained unaware of his powers as a Sith, viewing him as just a man of and for the people. The same persona that Emperor Delvardus sought to evoke. Perhaps she, like her cousin, was just paranoid as well. But betrayal was no stranger to her. She'd watched Imperial Knights who had sworn oaths to protect Nicademus' life turn on him in a heartbeat.
She shifted her own gaze out the viewport, watching as more ships arrived, while Jenia continued to extoll the greatness of her Novatroopers and the program she had spear headed. Neith turned her helmet and gaze back upon Jenia, as her cousin compared the Novatroopers to the Mandalorians and postured they may even be better than previously known elite forces Bold claims Grand Admiral... Though, not without merit, I am sure. Perhaps one day your Novatroopers will get a chance to prove their superiority, or lack-thereof, against such foes... I doubt the Coalition forces will give me much opportunity to truly see them in action, if at all... Perhaps something could be arranged though...

With the final preparations drawing to a close, Fiora had preparations of her own to make aboard the Reaper. A heavily armoured door opened and then closed behind her as she made her way into the secure room within the depths of the Resurgent II. Sitting below the bridge and in the thickest part of the ship was a Meditation Chamber. Neith had brought her to this room a few times, showing her around the self contained room which had emergency back up power and life support should the ship get breached or the room itself end up in the vacuum of space. It was a giant armoured box in the centre of which was the Meditation Sphere itself.
As if sensing her approach, the top half of the Chamber rose up as if sensing her approach. Fiora didn't flinch, as she strode forward and entered the Chamber itself. The lights outside dimmed as the top half of the Chamber lowered down and connected to the Base. Fiora assumed a seated position, crossing her legs and waited. Several holo projections appeared around the small space, giving tactical data on the Ren fleet, as well as that of Grand Admiral Kasalle's forces. One display also held a direct feed to the Bridge, from which she could observe Harnan and Admiral Smith, along with the rest of the crew on the bridge

The ship left hyperspace amidst the silence of deep space. Lights faded out through the viewports, replaced by a bottomless pit of dreadful black, only pierced by the light of distant stars, too dim to break apart the darkness. The cruiser was like a dagger, pointed out towards the heart of the system. Black on black, it crossed the emptyness silently, using the sublight engines. As soon as it was on the arranged coordinates a hand, clad in a black leathern glove, sent ahead a message to Lord Harnan. Vardus had returned, fulfilling the summons and placed his ship at his disposal. There was a hiss when the heavy helmet was placed atop the curly head and an aide placed a cloak atop the broad shoulders. The knight flexed his arms and placed his hands at the belt; resting, forwarding his presence by the Force. If he was commanded to do as much he would take his fighter and kneel before his master, the master of the Knights of Ren himself.

Harnan tapped a button on the arm of his Throne, which caused a holoprojection of himself to be sent to Vardus Vardus... welcome... I trust you and your forces are ready?

The cloak fell in well-arranged drapes behind his back and the helmet shone under the artificial light. His voice sounded deeper thanks to the vocalizer.
