[ Gwyn | Cockpit | Morninglord-class Light Defender (Unnamed) | Bay 35 | Esden's Freeport | Zeltros ] Attn: Jair CrawfordGwyn sat down in the pilot's chair, and slowly went through all the pre-flight checks. It sometimes surprised her how the vessel often just seemed to respond to her, it almost felt to her like it anticipated her. Which was even stranger since the ship did not belong to her originally, but to the Jedi that had engaged her team. The last one of which refused to stop attacking and pursuing her despite her pleas...the one that led to the Force Storm...she closed her eyes and willed away those dark and depressing thoughts, focusing instead on Jair and his voice...and his words.
She looked over at him wonderingly.
“Are you not lost in thought and oddly friendly with someone from a rival faction all the time, then?” Gwyn asked sincerely

Jair pondered her words for a moment... it was a good, and understandable question to ask. He decided there was no reason not to be completely honest with her in his answer.
"Well... normally, when I meet a Sith, they are eager to try to kill me as soon as they even recognize that I'm a Jedi. And, while I'm trying to fend them off, and defend myself, I'm trying to figure out if... and how... I can try to convince them to see the Light..."
He looked over at Gwyn quizzically. "But I never even needed to say that to you, because I don't sense any darkness in your signature."

[ Gwyn | Cockpit | Morninglord-class Light Defender (Unnamed) | Bay 35 | Esden's Freeport | Zeltros ] Attn: Jair CrawfordGwyn's expression became slightly troubled, a slight squinting of her eyes, and an uneasy set to her shoulders as she struggled to come to terms with Jair's revelation. Was she so easy to read to everybody? She could never hide her nature from her fellow Sith, who found her to be...quite strange. So she blushed and looked away, as if being full of Light was an offence she committed.
“My fellow Sith always said that about me...”
She returned her gaze towards the Jedi, “I am a Nùe, of Brùn. Though we appear human, our similarities end there. We live far longer than most humans, and tend to be quite a bit stronger too. We never lose our youth and vigour until the day we die....and all Nùe are Sith.”

"All Nue are Sith...?" Jair paused for a moment, deep in thought. "This is the first I've heard of an entire race being entirely devoted to an order. At least, in our current times. Then again, this is the first I've ever heard of the Nue of Brun. Typically we Jedi don't hear about a group of Sith unless... well... unless they cause trouble of some sort. Your faction has never crossed our radar. It would seem for good reason, if you are any indication of the character of your order..." Jair added with a slight, yet genuine, friendly smile. Though there were so many things he did not understand.
He was perhaps a bit concerned at her comment about how her Sith comrades always said that about her... how the light emanated from her being... Her body language indicated that she was almost ashamed of it. Why would anyone be ashamed of the Light? Ashla is the most loyal of allies. He would not speak on this just yet though. He did not want to speak out of place.

[ Gwyn | Cockpit | Morninglord-class Light Defender (Unnamed) | Bay 35 | Esden's Freeport | Zeltros ] Attn: Jair CrawfordGwyn shook her head.
“I am considered unique among Nùe, and not in a good way,” said the diminutive redhead, “that is not to say my life was exceptionally bad amongst my people...my parents never pushed me to do anything I didn't want, and even the more belligerent folk would ne'er raise hand against me, not lest I deserved it. We know...about other Sith, and the Jedi, of course. We're more...cautiously ambitious, wary of the dangers of greed and power. Yet, we are by no means the kindest folks you would meet.”
She self-consciously brushed her hair back behind an ear, looking away wistfully.
“I was born in Cheaping, Dorneget,” she said, “my family were comfortable enough in wealth and position, but because we lived in Cheaping...most saw us...me, as a lesser member of society, would not even let me into Brickwood Fairwater. They had the best markets and fairs, you see. But a noblewoman...I suppose she liked me enough, and took me into her care, raised me like her own daughter, with my parents' blessing. I was good...”
She glanced at Jair, and the ghost of a smile formed on her lips, “...I was inducted into the Noble Seventh Division of High March Knights, as a forward charger...I had my own horse too...it was as good as life could be...”
Her expression became sombre the next instant, “Then the First Order came...”

Jair quietly yet attentively listened to everything. Gwyn had quite an interesting history, though he still did not understand much about it. In all his life Jair had only ever met one other individual who claimed to be a Sith, but was a practitioner of the Light. What even was his name? Tenneng? Tannung? ... Something like that. Either way, this was most definitely a rarity. And Gwyn radiated far more Light than Jair recalled from the other man he met briefly long ago. Jair winced and sighed slightly at the mention of the First Order. She could no doubt tell that he was definitely not a fan, either.
"What did they do?" Jair asked, quietly, already having some idea from the images she had projected to him earlier.

[ Gwyn | Cockpit | Morninglord-class Light Defender (Unnamed) | Bay 35 | Esden's Freeport | Zeltros ] Attn: Jair CrawfordGwyn wasn't too surprised by Jair's expression at the mention of the First Order. After all, who liked oppressors?
“They were mildly surprised to find out we were all Sith,” she answered, “but they made a mistake in assuming that meant we wished to align with them and the Knights of Ren. The Nùe declared war despite the greater numbers and firepower. I suppose in the initial exchange, the First Order had not expected such ferocity, but their retaliation was swift, relentless, and continuous. My home city was brutally bombarded.”
Tears began to fall as she spoke of that day once more, remembering the little boy she held in her arms as he died, countless burns over two thirds of his body. The thought and the emotions tied to that memory was so intense, she started projecting again.
“The noblewoman who had all but adopted me...I...I watched her be slain before my eyes...and I was powerless to do anything to help her...I was powerless to help anyone. I don't have it in me to hate, even with all the pain I saw...felt...”
She shrank into herself with shame, her right hand rubbing her left arm uncertainly, “The Knights of Ren captured my division of the High March Knights...one of the last few that survived the onslaught of the First Order Invasion. They took us to a holding cell...stripped us bare, and had a hundred stormtroopers aiming their weapons at us, and gave us a 'choice'...join or die.”

Jair winced ever so slightly at the vision. It was a tragic sight to see. Unfortunately, it did not surprise him to hear of, and see such atrocities. The only thing that surprised him is that these Sith did not align with them, and not out of spite, or jealousy, or greed, but out of what seemed to be a stark difference in moral standing between the two groups. These Sith were... different. But in light of how much Gwyn had been through, he didn't want to press too many questions just yet.
"I'm so sorry... Their cruelty knew no bounds. I can assure you, I have no love for the First Order." Jair stated this boldly, his relaxed demeanor temporarily gone again, at least, for the moment, before sighing, and relaxing a bit again, speaking softly.
"Where we are going, you will not have to worry about them."

[ Gwyn | Cockpit | Morninglord-class Light Defender (Unnamed) | Bay 35 | Esden's Freeport | Zeltros ] Attn: Jair CrawfordA desperate hope filled Gwyn's being at Jair's words and assurance. She looked up at him uncertainly. He certainly was unlike the Jedi she'd encountered. They seemed determined to kill her and the others...which led to her primary concern.
“Would you or the others say the same if you all knew what I've done?”
She rubbed her left arm nervously, though it was unasked, she pressed on, this last tale was most important compared to everything else.
“The other Knights...” she started, “they agreed to serving the Knights of Ren as advance scouts and attackers. I was...forced to follow them. They enjoyed their position perhaps a bit too much. I could not bear to be party to such needless wholesale slaughter...I was about to be executed for refusing to participate...and that was when the Jedi came. They engaged the Knights of Ren, the Sith, and me...I tried to surrender, tried to plead with them, but they would not stop...so I ran. I was chased, and attacked relentlessly. I think...these Jedi were former residents of the latest world we'd been set upon, and they...could not be reasoned with any longer. I was so tired of fighting, I wanted it all to stop, I wanted everyone to stop...”
As she spoke on, her emotions began to well up in her, forcing away the calm that Jair had placed the day before, and she looked at her palms helplessly. Though they were physically clean, in her mind, she saw only blood.
“I drew on the Force...in a way I have never done so before...and I saw the clouds, the ground shook, and then deafening thunder and lightning struck all around me...when I came to, everyone was dead. As far as my eyes could see, the land was scorched and even turned to glass in some places, I was awash with blood, and...and...I could no longer wield the Force...though I can still feel it. Tell me, Jair Crawford...where I will take you, can I find forgiveness and peace?”
There was a deep terror within her that Jair would say no, and her hands trembled even as she stared at him with clear fear.

Jair sensed the emotion welling up within her as he very carefully listened to everything she had to say. Her story was harrowing, and tragic. And... ah... there it was! It all started to make some sense. Her ability to wield the Force had been wounded somehow. That's what he could sense that was so off in her signature. Jair allowed himself, again, to ease himself into a calmness in the Force. He hoped that she would be able to sense it, and tap into it like she did before, so that her mind could be at ease. At the same time, he answered both of her questions with an emphatic nod.
"Yes. I will say the same. My friends on Felucia will say the same." He looked at her very intently. "You absolutely can find forgiveness. In fact... I suspect you already have it. But you've not learned to forgive yourself... that will take time to learn to do. But it can be done."
Jair paused for a brief moment, but still had that ever so intent gaze as his aura continued to exude a calmness. "You can find peace, too. Peace... is very real..." That is all Jair would say on that matter for now. He did not want to push things too far. He knew all too well what the traditional Sith code said about peace, and just in case she was taught that code, this was not the time to have a whole philosophical debate about it. Instead he shifted, and clarified one more thing.
"And such wounds in the Force can also be healed in time."

[ Gwyn | Cockpit | Morninglord-class Light Defender (Unnamed) | Bay 35 | Esden's Freeport | Zeltros ] Attn: Jair CrawfordShe heard him, but she did indeed find it all but impossible to forgive herself. She had hurt, killed, and slaughtered in the end...She did not want to, but it happened all the same. She felt like she needed to do things for the rest of her life to atone. And she very much wanted to feel absolved of her deeds. It was why she was afraid to even try returning to Brùn. If her parents still lived, she could not bear to face them. To say nothing of the fact that the First Order and the Knights of Ren occupied her world, and as much as virtually all Nùe were trained since childhood to wield the Force, the First Order had sheer unlimited numbers they could throw at them. She would not last long.
But she frowned in confusion at the last thing he said.
“Wound in the Force...?” she asked, “What is that?”

"Whenever someone, or something, tries to sever someone's connection to the Force, it creates what we call a wound in the Force." Jair gave her the simplest and most concise explanation for now. This was a deep subject, that some Jedi Masters specialized in studying. And to try to go into all of the details right now would not be helpful. "What's important is, it can be healed."
Jair continued to exude a calmness from his Aura, wanting to make sure Gwyn was alright. But he did not realize that he had tapped in so much that he was getting very close to nodding off to sleep.

[ Gwyn | Cockpit | Morninglord-class Light Defender (Unnamed) | Bay 35 | Esden's Freeport | Zeltros ] Attn: Jair Crawford“Oh, I see,” said Gwyn, “thank you, Jair, you have given me much to ponder...”
She looked over at the Jedi and realized with a start that he must be very tired, and there she was, unloading her woes on him, a man she had literally just met. Sighing softly, she stood up and rested a hand on his shoulder.
“Please, rest a while, master Jedi,” she said quietly, “It will be some time yet before I am able to depart. But we will be in Felucia soon enough.”
She then returned to running all pre-flight checks, then headed to the Hangar bay, to ensure the Jedi's fighter is fully refuelled and set the maintenance droids to work on it. She had no idea how long he had been travelling around in it, but it wouldn't do to let him go back out on his own and have the fighter fall apart mid-flight. She'd seen it happen once back on Brùn.
Then she began checking all the hyperdrive engines, the shields and sublight engines. Whoever owned this ship previously took extremely good care, or the ship was just that good a design. And she idly realized she would need to give it a name soon. She couldn't even think what to call it, as she'd never owned a ship before, and this was a very luxurious vessel. Heavily armed too, based on the schematics she found.
After nearly two hours, she returned to the cockpit, started up the ship, and they were soon leaving orbit once she received clearance.
