A heavy transport, able to move army elements between planets, the Assault Transport is a bulky and spartan design, which is particularly lacking in weaponry for such a large ship. This design concession came about due to the requirement to focus on cargo space, speed, and protection.
Able to move a significant amount of military cargo, including troops and vehicles along with their necessary supplies, one of these transports is comparable to the transport capacity of the larger and more heavily armed Acclamator. This Mandalorian design is faster and more compact, relatively speaking, relying on agility and swiftness over firepower; Rare in a Mandalorian design. |

I do not believe a ship this size can carry five thousand troops. The highest count, for ships these size, would be the Liberator-class Cruiser at three thousand and this is eight meters longer than this submission. However, I do believe its details came down to a Canon exception rule as I recall a couple discussions being brought up about it. A more believable limit for ships this size would likely be the Gage-class Transport sitting at ten meters longer and the carrying capacity of one thousand troops. Especially since it has to have the space for 24 small craft and the Gage-class has the same setup. In my views, I feel the Gage-class Transport's parameters, in terms of carrying capacity, would be better suited. The Liberator's details, after all, were made by a ruling of Canon Exception after some discussion was made in the past. |

I started out with an Acclamator which is approximately 50% bigger than this, but can carry 16000 troops, in addition to 300+ bikes and 100+ heavy vehicles with 11000 tons of cargo. I don't think 5000 is unreasonable. |

I would say that up to 3,000 or 2,000 is more acceptable though. Or even at 1,000 like the Gage-class.
Considering the logic behind that breakdown, then an ISD should be able to carry 32,000+ troops since it is over 50% bigger than an Acclamator, yet it carries a fraction of those troop and vehicle numbers. Numbers don’t go that high unless it’s a Star Cruiser or more so an SSD sized vessel which is close to a 100x bigger than an Acclamator.
It does seem like a sound way to breakdown to make the numbers, but I do believe that 5,000 troops for a ship size is definitely touching upon an unreasonable limit.
