It didn't take long for them to consider it. Well, at least for the fierce one. Ellie Ordo she didn't see. Apparently the Mandalorian left at some point. Amy was a decent detector when it came to lying, but she was mostly rubbish with other emotions. Still, what she saw in the protectress' eyes held a ferver that was possibly hope or sheer desperation...maybe both. But in that moment, Amy saw the protectress in a different light, and she learnt a whole lot more about Fel than she did the first time they met.
Home.
That was one word that struck a chord with Amy. She idly thought about her uncles, wondering where in the galaxy they were now. The Empire, the Alliance, and the First Order had all separated them from one another. The protectress said his people. He had people, maybe a family, maybe a bigger crew, maybe even a clan; he was working with Mandalorians after all. She respected the man for that goal, and if anything, with that revelation, she became more determined than ever to ensure Fel survived.
“Okay,” said Amy, she reached into her kit and carefully picked out three vials of different coloured compounds. Popping open the vials, she used an automated pressure syringe and withdrew a precise amount, then pressed a light blue button on the syringe, clearing out any traces of oxygen inside. When it was ready, she cleaned and disinfected the spot on his left arm below the bicep, and applied the compound. “We'll know soon enough, if this works.”
Now it was up to the Captain, and how strong his will to live was. In the meantime, the young Corellian took her healing stick and began the slow process of cleaning and applying the treatment to his wounds. To her relief, the monitors began to read his vitals as responding to the medication, and slowly, but surely stabilizing. A steady, soft beep gave her a hopeful report of his heart rate, pulse, and pressure. He wasn't completely out of the woods, and any extra stress on him would quite quickly send him plummeting back into the danger zone. But if she could keep him like this until they found a better equipped facility, they could save his life. “He's going to make it.”
She looked up and smiled at the other woman, “The medication's working. He's still near critical, but we can move him now, try to make our way to the nearest medical facility, and take care of everything else.”

Melia was outside, walking in the space surrounding the much larger corvette. She didn't know if it would work, what this doctor-she-had-never-met-before had said, and she had been all-too-ready to consign Fel's life over to her ministrations. She thought about who she was, who she is. What she is. She thought about everything that had come before, and all that was lost to time and devastation. She was tired. Tired of who she was. Tired of being on the receiving end of orders, and ideologies, and shit. If Fel died, so be it. She'd find some backwater to get lost on, and disappear. For the best, likely. She thumbed the safety on her sniper rifle, off, on, off... on. The sound of footsteps made her turn. Not in that 'Target acquired' kind of way she could turn on if need be, but just in a resigned, 'someone's looking for me' kind of way. Doctor?
“The medication's working. He's still near critical, but we can move him now, try to make our way to the nearest medical facility, and take care of everything else.”
Melia nodded. There was relief, and maybe a little hope in her response, but also a good deal of resignedness. As if it were the expected report, and now the torment continued.
Then I guess I better see who can navigate this old tub. I'm not much of a pilot... I usually just kill stuff.

*Ellie sat a short distance away. Her mind was weaving in and out of the force, catching any bit of emotion she could from the people around her. The doctors arrival brought her full attention to the two women conversing a short distance off. So Fel was going to make it, that was good news. Ellie then focused on Melia. The woman was a whirlwind of emotion, relief and hope filled her. There was something else however, deeper inside..regret maybe? This confused Ellie some.*
*Standing up, she put her flask and her mind back where they belonged. Stretching the soreness out of her injured leg, she walked over to them. She patted Ami on the shoulder and gave her a small grin.* "Good work Doc."

Amy was beginning to think the fierce protectress to be a paradox of virtues and cognizance. After delivering her report, and hearing the woman's response, she was briefly surprised by Ellie's arrival, and returned the Mandalorian's grin with a wan smile of her own. Fel wasn't out of the woods yet, and maybe it was the sense of melancholy all around her that had her own mood going down despite the optimistic reports of Fel's response to the treatment, which had a fifty-fifty chance of working to begin with. Regardless of that, Amy was soon back to all business and she turned to address the protectress first.
“I'm a Corellian,” she said, “guess you can say I learned to fly even before I learned to crawl. I can handle the corvette, but I'll need two people to give me a hand. Can't jump into hyperspace without at least a co-pilot.”
Next, she turned to look Ellie over again, scrutinizing the woman's condition with just her eye, and she wasn't too happy with her own accessment. “Miss Ordo, after we get underway, I'll have time to give you a lookover. I seriously recommend it, unless you're absolutely certain there's no risk of infection in any of your wounds. You and the other guy. You both look like hell.”
The next thing was to get everyone ready for flight. Fel was stable, but she didn't want to dawdle. The bed on the D5 was flexible and light, and could easily be transfered to a hover-sled, which she had. Mandalorian mentality meant they designed their ships and bunks with mobility in mind, and right now, that was a blessing for them all. She told the women all of the steps they needed to take to move Fel over and to bring over whatever they needed from the D5 to the Blasphemy, unless some of them wanted to stay with the D5. She warned them about the faction that seemed to be in power over this planet, and while she said nothing outright, her tone hinted that at the least, she didn't think staying was a good idea. The other thought she had was for both ships to leave the planet, since there was a chance of discovery, and an unattended ship would likely disappear if a skilled slicer broke through the locks and commandeered the vessel.

*Ellie gave a smile grin at Ami. So not only was she a doctor, but also a pilot. Quite the list of talents. Ellie gave a sheepish grin at Amis accessment of her injuries. She gave a small shrug and a hesitant smile.* "Their not that bad. Although...I guess it wouldn't hurt to check them out."
*Under Amis orders, Ellie helped in moving Fel over to the corvette. During that time, Ami explained the dangers of the planet via the factions. She was right, sticking around this place wouldn't be very wise.*

Janos had been silent for quite a long while. Tight-lipped and anxious, he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts as he waited for confirmation. Wordlessly, as Ellie and Ami moved Fel down the ramp, he moved forward to help them, listening to the woman talk about the faction here on Varonat. The way she spoke, she seemed eager to leave quickly; and Janos couldn't agree more. Two ships out in the middle of nowhere was bound to spark some interest, especially when a government was in transition. Overall, though, Janos was far more fixated on the corvette.
Entering the Blasphemy, and setting down Fel, Janos turned to Ami, gesturing at the ship. "This ship...how did it come to be here? It needs a crew of at least half a dozen to be even slightly near fully operational, or automation at the least...I don't see either." As he talked, his eyes ran over the lines of the ship. Sturdy. Decently armed. Corellian. It would take a hit and keep running; take a dozen hits, and keep crawling. "A Corellian ship for a Corellian lady?

If there was one thing that was commonplace among soldiers was near-implausible deniability. Amy was only glad Ellie didn't look at herself and say it was a flesh wound. What was it with them anyhow? It didn't matter whether they were men or women, they always never willingly admitted how bad it looked and probably felt. Maybe it was a macho thing. Either way, her expression of complete lack of belief said what she wanted to say without a word concerning Ellie's wounds. But at least she was willing to let her have a look...which in turn translated in Amy's mind as the probability that it was very bad, if she was okay with a check-up. She decided not to delay that too long.
“Soon as we're up, and in hyperspace, I want you in the Medical Bay.” said Amy.
As they moved Fel, the only other man she had seen so far came over to lend a hand with moving the Captain. She was about to tell him she wanted him in the MedBay as well for examination for his injuries - and probably give him a sandwich while she was at it - when he started asking her about the ship. She noted how he was taking in all the details and suspected he might have had some history or background involving keeping a keen eye and good observation.
She folded her arms over her chest as she answered in a friendly tone, “Sure,” she said, “but my Corellian heritage aside, there was a crew that brought it here. I stayed behind, they left. End of story.”
She decided to leave out the Alliance or the fact that Fel was by rights, as far as she could tell, Captain of the Blasphemy too. That was his tale to tell, and as of now, he wasn't even bloody conscious, so she had no idea where these folk stood with him. She'd leave the additional details to him. But she supposed she'd need about half a dozen people to help her get the ship up in the air. “As you've astutely observed, it takes more than one person to make this ship get airborne, so I'll need all of you to lend a hand, really. You prepared to abandon the D5?”

*Ellie saw the look that Ami gave her. She raised an eyebrow in mild confusion. The pain wasn't that bad.* "Alright, Alright. I'll go to the medbay once we're off and going..where ever it is we're going."
*Once Fel was finally situated, Ellie took a step back and listened to the conversation. Reaching into her pocket, she removed the flask once again. She took a deep swig of the strong liquid and felt the effects clear down to her feet as she swayed a little bit. Putting one foot slightly back, she rebalance herself and looked at the flask. A thought crossed her mind that maybe all the drinking shes done lately is the reason why she didn't feel much pain. Which reminded her, her flask was now empty.*

*Ellie replaced the flask and quietly slipped out of the room to let Ami and Janos talk ship. She gave a small smile at the two as she left them alone. Her foot steps almost sounded heavy in the mostly deserted ship. Curiosity guided her through the vessel until she came across several cabins. Letting out a sigh, she decided to remove her armor. She picked the first cabin she came across and stepped inside.*
*Slowly, each piece came off and either fell to the floor or was tossed onto the bed. Finally it was the breastplates turn. Ellie carefully undid the straps, and was greeted by relief then a sharp pain. She dropped the heavy piece of armor to the floor and lifted her shirt to look at the side of her chest. To her surprise her lower right rib had a large bruise on it.* "Fantastic..."
*She sat down on the edge of the bed. Closing her eyes, she let out a sigh and tried to let the events of the day slip away. That was a challenge though, a challenge that had been growing worse with each passing battle. Instinctively, she reached for her flask then remembered that it was empty. Her eyes panned up to see herself in the reflection of a mirror. She stared for a few seconds at the person she almost didn't recognize. Her eyes held a tiredness that was becoming all to familiar. Ellie was in even better physical shape than ever before, but she also had more scars then ever before. A tattoo worked it's way up her left forearm, a growing reminder of all the force users she's killed.*
*Letting out a sigh, she rubbed her eyes before standing up. Her injured leg protested under the strain. She was beginning to realize just how bad it was, if the poor bandaging wasn't any indication. That was going to have to wait though. She was on a mission now, a mission to find something to refill her flask with.*

Things eventually moved into place, and a short discussion determined that it was tactically unsound to split the already small group between two large vessels, with the Blasphemy being significantly larger, and in need of far more crew members than was readily available; thus, they would have to take a risk and just lock up the D5 as securely as they were able, taking whatever they could, leaving behind almost nothing, and not wanting to waste more time, as their presence very likely would be picked up by the authorities that now ran Varonat, they all went to work, even BB-Drunk, in setting up the corvette for lift-off.
Amy made sure to alert all present to the little BB-unit's unique problems and tendency for random and out of control movements, so they had best keep their eyes glued to the ground lest they trip over him, and injuring themselves. She also made a point to get their names, or at least whatever they were willing to give her to use, because she rationalized, “Going 'Hey, you!' would be rather tricky to work with if you're all in the same room.” Thusly, she took her place as the pilot, with Melia keeping tabs in the Engineering department, Janos at the Comm Station and Scanners, and BB-Drunk sat in the co-pilot's chair next to Amy. She let Ellie roam free at the moment, still eyeing the woman critically whenever she was within sight. The galley had been fully stocked, thanks to her time in town, doing enough work to earn coin for supplies.“Attention, everyone,” said Amy, activating the intercoms except for the sickbay, where Fel rested, not that he was likely to be awakened in his current state, “We're beginning take-off in five. Brace yourselves.” BB-Drunk warbled questioningly at her, wondering why she warned for everyone to brace themselves, “Because this is a CR70 Corellian Corvette, and we're undermanned,” was the reply, “I'm slaving multiple controls to my console alone, even with your help. Janos, keep an eye on the scanners. Give me a path with the least amount of ship traffic. Keep to low level scanning only. Active scans would be picked up by military crafts, I'm sure you know that, and we don't need the attention.” The ship thrummed with life, and as Amy gently applied pressure to the steering yoke, she managed to lift the vessel on its ventral thrusters with enough steadiness that there was only the slightest lurch, while she muttered to herself or to the ship to keep steady. It certainly wasn't loud enough except for probably Janos or BB-Drunk to hear, but they were up in the air, and soon, with all the engines activated, they were breaking through the atmosphere, and then from orbit. She followed the path laid out by Janos and his scans, careful to avoid military crafts on patrol, and she soon slipped out of the net, breaking into hyperspace.

Location: Varonat - Equal Distance Between Tropis-on-Varonat & Edgefields-on-Varonat
In the distance turbolaser fire struck the planet like bolts of lightning hurled by an angry god, thundering throughout the jungle and disturbing the natural order. Animals fled through the underbrush, dashing and darting in all directions. The ground shook with each impact, rattling the bones of Varonat, causing minor quakes that uprooted trees that inevitably released landsides. Smaller burning streaks ripped through the clouds and impacted the jungle in small explosions as armoured drop-pods hit their targets, sinking into the somewhat soft jungle floor, half burying themselves in moist tropical dirt and leafy foliage. Hydraulic hisses were elicited as the pods depressurised and unsealed themselves, lowering quadrasteel plates to the ground as they released their fell cargo. From within the dark interior of the pods, which belched hot steam from their open hatches, crimson orbs illuminated and narrowed. Claws and foot talons clacked on the metal of the ramp as black scaled monstrosities hurled themselves out of the pod and into the jungle.
These monsters of the flesh were the darkspawn of the dreaded lord of Famine. Warped by dark sorcery and the unnatural corrupting influence of the malevolent fey, they were mindless feral things, lacking any form of true sentience. Despite their mindless nature, they shared one unmistakable trait with the Hungering One, beyond their physical appearance. They were driven by an insatiable desire to feed, and nothing tasted so delicious as the succulent fear soaked meat of humans.
Saurian shrieks of unbridled savagery and hunger echoed through the jungle as the children of Dragus took to the wilderness and began to hunt for prey.

Esthh seemed to wake up from a dream, from frozen in time, frozen in the mind, a wisp of smoke on a foggy morning, no one knew what had happened when time stood still, or time flowed forward, or backwards, to deposit things where it chose. Space time was a curious thing. Esthh was going to have to have a good talking too with the Shapers about those new strains of dovin basal they were working on....
Nevertheless...it was time to use what knowledge he had gathered, and begin gathering the needed items from this galaxy...the ones that were not already catalogued in the Shaper qhasa's during the invasion.

Esthh Krazhmir sat down and pulled out his qhasa, coaxing the creature open to delve into its memories. He looked at his previous thoughts and the biological specimens collected in this galaxy so far. Predictably the genetic patterns that had been entered into the general knowledge followed the invasion corridor. Conduit Worms and Stone Mites from Coruscant...he couldn’t call it Yuuzhan’tar...it had never been and had since lost that title. Exogorths from asteroid fields, mynocks… Schostri Hornets and Wolvkil from the so called Unknown Regions...the Vaagari had put up a decent fight but their tactics assumed too many things about their enemies...especially an unwillingness to kill hostages, fools, their biots would be added to the Yuuzhan Vong...the Vong, he reflected sourly. There were no gods so the honorific of god chosen or god blessed Yuuzhan...no longer applied. He growled to himself, his people had been beaten because there was not enough adaptation to the people of this galaxies rapid improvements in their technology to counter the Vong’s servants. But with the dissolution so to speak of the Yuuzhan Vong gods...so too went heresy, aside from the now widely known heresy of Shimraa. With heresy gone, the...Vong...were now free to create their own biots and protocols, with a wealth of new biological species to improve and to make into tools. There were a number here, but only some were useful...too few of what he was looking for. A start yes, but not enough… Esthh withdrew his mind from the qhasa and stood, striding back towards his matalok.
The Matalok was old, heresy improved in the Unknown Regions during his campaign there, but old, grown well before the invasion, decades, many decades, it would soon embark on its continued quest to serve. The first destination was already in his mind. Boarding the ship the vessel moved up into the sky silently and climbed quickly out of the warm coat of the heated atmosphere and into its home, the cold of space.

The two mataloks came in to land, dropping gently onto the ground. The site had been pre-planned, the location was on a relatively flat plane in a delta of a river at the end of a long flat valley, an area of low wind but the delta was full of rich minerals. Warriors and shapers poured out of the ships, young gricha and gragricha were prodded into position and young damuteks and other buildings were placed and rooted. Other shapers and warriors moved about the perimeter, warriors prodding animals that began removing vegetation in a planned pattern, shapers and biots planting the desired defensive plants inside in multiple rings.
Slowly the outlines of a base took form. New buildings too started going up, growing quickly.

A matalok descended to the flourishing Yuuzhan Vong base and unloaded its biological cargo and samples. The shapers went to work discovering all of the specimens secrets, ensuring that they could be reproduced and added to the qhasas.
Esthh transferred to the other matalok even as the unloading continued on the first one. After boarding the empty matalok lifted off and headed into orbit.

A matalok returned and set down, quickly unloading the new acquisitions to the proper shaper damuteks. Esthh was pleased with the growth of the base, it being nearly complete. There were eight shaper damuteks that were surrounded by defensive structures and fields full of needed Yuuzhan Vong biots. There were still more to collect however. He headed to the first matalok, as it was ready to go, allowing the one that he arrived in to unload and resupply. The matalok lifted off and headed for space. He also sent a pair of transports, escorted by blast boulders to different planets.

The base could hardly be recognized from what it was, it had turned into a sprawling base and industrial area, though one that few would recognize. The shaper damuteks and animal enclosures, hidden from view and made to be environmentally sealed and internally alterable, housed many dozens of species and thousands of new chimeras as the shapers were not just ensuring stable dna patterns into the qhasas, but also starting to isolate specific genes and animal and plant abilities. Those that were already domesticated were much easier as their was a multitude of data on their dna from wider sources. More wild stocks took longer and more work to pin down. Breeding programs were established and cloning began to increase their numbers.
All of these animals and plants of course needed something, fuel, in any language or measurement it was fuel, energy, food. The shapers were busy with growing and hatching species that were already available and modified and bred for harvesting as food in themselves. Large fields had started to spread from the base as modified harvester beetles from Neimodia were busy planting, cultivating and harvesting crops. It was here that the strangest thing happened. There were large multi legged creatures, local Morodins, moving a herds went through the fields, adding plants, removing others, and everywhere they went left a large lines of slime. With a first attempt to shoo the creatures away being discouraged a shaper took samples of the leavings and did a quick examination of the plants that they were adding. The shaper was startled to discover that from field to field, or plant to plant, the slime composition changed, it was startling in that the slime was the optimal composition for the plants growing there, in fact far better than the work that the harvester beetle offshoots were able to do. Even the plants that they added to the fields only increased the plant health. The decision was made not just to allow the Morodins to continue but the shapers ordered samples to be taken from the morodins to add them to the qhasas, but let the creatures continue to do their work and study them further. Curious at the fact that these creatures had been right under their nose, the head shaper ordered a inventory of the planets plant and animal life to find out what else might have been missed, or simply not reported.
Quickly the shapers and their adepts worked on gene compatibility and slicing, even rebuilding dna from the ground up in the hopes to create new organs in different species, focusing first on the overall plans that Esthh Krazhmir had put forth in his vision to improve the Vong’s ability in this galaxy. Focuses were put on gralloc, purrgil, beldons, conduit worms, exogorths, lobel, skekfish, thornsniper plants, droid breakers, Jodokan Needler Crabs, Hela, Andelm beetles, flying serpents, firewyrms, whaleships, large squids, jakobeasts, meduza, mon cala eels, thernbee, Verpine, bartokk, Givin, schostri hornets, lava nymphs, chiru, Vollka, and many others. The old protocols were used as guides, but only as a basis of knowledge as a jump off point. The heresy from the old way of thinking was blatant, and frankly encouraged. Results is what mattered, new biot tools, new symbiotes, species, and abilities, something to fill the gaps that had crippled the Yuuzhan Vong in ways not considered before.
The head shaper headed into his particular shaper damutek to work on the project that Esthh had assigned him. A new yammosk. Not just a yammosk, but one that addressed the weaknesses of the root species. Its amazing abilities to link with dovin basals was also one of its major weaknesses, being able to be tracked via gravatic emanations, and only being able to operate on a single frequency so to speak. Villips were consciousness linked, the goal was to have a yammosk that was not traceable, not able to be jammed, and to be able to communicate with warriors, aiding them in their movements, or being able to link with villips selectively on the telepathic level. An enforced lack of innovation had doomed the Yuuzhan Vong, only towards the end of the war had the protocols been allowed to be strained and innovation be created. That restriction on innovation had been done away with, and innovation would make the Vong strong once again, and strength would keep them alive.
A team was busy working on plants, creating new passive defenses, and offensive plants, beginning to test them, panopticon willow dna was melded with thornsiper plants, giving the hoped ability, to give the plant a vastly greater accuracy rate. Baby steps were taken, if rapidly, making sure the footing was secure with a new species or ability before moving forwards with the next step. It wouldnt do to have a catastrophe of plants or animals wreaking havoc.
Vonduun crabs were grown at large size and their energy glands were increased and enhanced with the genes copied or spliced from mon cala eels and conduit worms, their crystal matrix of their shell growth enhanced to push the energy field further with more intensity, quickly moving the creatures towards being shield projectors, capable of potentially bouncing a laser cannon or perhaps in time turbolasers.

In the electrical area of the shaper compound in several damuteks, shapers were working on various species making sure that the organs that were desired could be reproduced and integrated as biots into other combined organisms. Lobel were bred, and dissected, cloned, genes modified, spliced and bred again, and again, testing their abilities. It was already known that they could cause repulsorlifts to fail if they got close enough, which was a considerable distance, a complaint that had been voiced by another shaper in another damutek who was working with the Hela, there were not however complaints about the headaches that the beasts could cause. That just would not be tolerated. Slowly several forms were taking place, mostly moving towards tube shapes, and others that were bred towards area coverage strains.
The Sparkflys from Dathomir were easier to breed, and breed quickly, the small creature could always develop a considerably discharge from their capacitor like organs. They were quickly bred to be more and more powerful, helped along with genetic splicing and manipulation. It didn’t take long, only a handful of generations to go from just getting knocked down by a stinging discharge, to the first time that a beast was straight up killed. One of the big advantages was that the Vong and shapers were well aquatinted with working with insect species.
In an aquatic area the shapers were working in a similar manner with the Mon Cala Eels, the electric creatures had considerable volt potential, and efforts were made to increase this. Parallel efforts, but separate lines worked to increase the energy storage of such creatures. A third group was developed to rapid recharge capabilities, with the plan to slowly integrate the lines as necessary towards an end goal power source.
The Vonduun Crab team had the easiest time as the vonduun crab were well known to the shapers. The team’s goal was to rapidly grow the beasts from simple armor to much larger armor, the crystalline structure changing and improving to handle more energy supplied to them and to project that energy further off of its surface. The hope was to come up with a kind of shielded armor, it was doubtful that they could make projected shields in this manner, but it was hoped that it could create some semblance of it to throw off some of the damage that would otherwise land. The yorik coral that was used in virtually all of the ships was useful for fighting other Yuuzhan Vong, mass was good and the yorick coral had an excellent job and trading material for hits with plasma weapons, but it was heavy, and took a large amount of effort for the ships to replace. The weight alone was a problem in this new galaxy, making the bigger capital ships sluggish. This would change.
Another team was working on that very issue...shields. They had many opportunities to examine the technological wonders, but finding a biological equivalent was a bit more complex. They already had a basis in the oggzil and the mabugat kan, one being able to transmit on electromagnetic frequencies, and the mabugat kan that could detect hyperwave signals. Keying a code into the genes of a creature to grow like an antannea or rectannae was fairly basic, even if it required a much more specialized diet, the energy required and the frequency control, was a different manner. This was a brand new creature and teaching its genes so to speak, to defend itself using projected energy was causing a considerable stumbling block. It was hoped that the team could borrow some genes from the dovin basals in order to create the controllability and instincts in the creatures. Things were not promising however as the only creatures they had been able to get past hatching had died within a few days. Starting from scratch was new, overcoming obstacles however was not.
Conduit worms were an interesting one, and the team of shapers worked diligently. They had a multi part mandate which demanded the spawning of many many lines of worms going in the direction that was required. Some were bred towards components, others towards sensor systems being able to detect power and electricity. Others were geared towards batteries and capacitor storage and discharge, hoping to eventually use the capacitors to power or feed other power hungry creatures, perhaps in the shield team that was struggling to develop a stable genetic pattern.
The shaper team worked diligently on mynocks, they also had mandates to make a number of lines of creatures to improve their abilities to be not just be more effective, eating energy and storing it, but to work them towards being integrated into other superorganisms, and another team working to make them weapons in their own right, a kind of hungry power damping creatures. The same team was working to make grallocs into mobile, and hopefully weaponized power drains, not being used like ion cannons per se, but rather power dampers on droids, sucking vast amounts of energy from a target. A different line of grallocs were pushed in another direction, working to enhance their ion engine type organs to be larger, stronger, and more efficient, the beasts quickly gaining power and speed. Nothing near a useful engine for anything larger than a single warrior and being moved around in a zero g environment mind you, but it was progress. They hoped that within a few generations they would be able to start moving a coralskipper with some kind of decent expectations. Other line of mynock and gralloc were bred towards only for the use of their wings and solar membranes, able to propel craft just capturing the interstellar winds, an effective and promising, but stealthy means of locomotion.
Another team was working with the interesting jelly creature known as a meduza, the jelly like blob creature could consume biological matter, at least carbon based life forms, and was able to hold a large electrical charge in its body, with, well no visible organs. The creatures could kill a warrior with its electrical discharge, and the shapers hoped to make it much much more powerful, specifically moving it towards being weapons grade power. The hope for this team was to turn the meduza in to a kind of biological ion cannon or projectile, that could be inserted into other propulsion devices or projectiles.
The team working with the vollka had quite a bit of time on their hands, as the creatures were not fully understood, and they had few subjects, and most of them young. Despite constant watching they had not yet seen the creatures turn invisible, especially the young. They had seen the creatures form and fire lightning bolts, and the consensus was that the control of it had something to do with the horns on the feline’s head. The shapers were busy with cloning, creating a large number of the felines in order to have more genetic material to work with in the future as they waited for the young to grow. None of the animals were mistreated and beast handlers and shapers took extra care to work with the animals and try to train them, in fact all of the animals were treated shockingly well. No one wanted to have an animal of these potentials go beserk and have to kill them and cause a massive panic which could be a cascading problem. The team working on burning snakes from Yavin 13, gathered and added to the qhasas from the main invasion force and their occupation of that system, worked to increase the creatures efficiency in absorbing solar radiation. Another line was focused on its ability to surge create heat, already enough to burn someone badly, it didn’t take much genetic enhancement to start lighting things on fire.

At the largest buildings in the base, huge half domes that were covered with other growth, had been grown into the ground, deeply into the ground. Massive chambers reinforced against the crushing pressures of the planet trying to smash the vacuum inside the chambers. The creatures in this damutek were special, but not all were in vacuum. One, the beldon chamber, was not, filled with the first batch of cloned beldons, deliberately dwarfed as they floated in the gasses. Shapers worked to unlock the mysteries of the beldons and their internal workings to put off the gas called tibanna, that was used in the blasters of the weapons that had faced them in the war, and still the primary weapon used against them. The others however were different. The shaper team worked with the young purrgil that had been captured, and new ones were created. Beast masters handled the creatures, carefully building trust with the large animals as the shapers examined the creatures in great detail, studying how they seemed to defy gravity and move about, and the internal structures that allowed the creatures to travel between stars in hyperspace. In other chambers other teams were working on Colossus Wasp eggs, preparing to hatch, with the last being the baby whale ships. The teams had cloned as many as they could, but they were not ready to be born, but soon, the development accelerated somewhat artificially, and cloning was well on the way as plans were made to implant control biots so they could be observed and tested in open space.
