"Is that what she wants?"
Devlin shrugs.
"I suppose that doesn't much matter to you."
He shuts off his lightsaber.
"You know, I could stand in your way; but you'd just send more of your agents to retrieve Keda. Soon, you'd send an army. Am I right?"
He looks down at Keda.
"I suppose this is where we part ways. If you need anything, just say the word."
Thus, Devlin found himself certain that this little experiment had come to an end. However, he wasn't certain if he felt it was a satisfactory resolution. But, it was a conclusion.

"I doubt standing in the way of an army for the mere sake of saving her would be worth your time."
*As he spoke, Ace moved closer towards the window. He was preparing himself for retrieving Keda. Closing her eyes Keda faced the ceiling again, all the while carefully retrieving something from a side pouch on her belt. She pulled out a small cylindrical divice and gripped it in her right hand. Letting out a sigh, she forced herself onto her knees and began to try and stand. Shakily she made it to her feet and squared off with Devlin preparing for another round. Taking a deep breath, she let it out slowly, opened her eyes and stared down the Jedi master. Ace came to a stop at the sight of Keda preparing to fight again.*

Devlin raises an eyebrow when Keda stands and faces him.
"You still have some fight left? I'm impressed."
He crosses his arms over his chest.
"I'd tell you knowing your limits is a strength; but you seem more determined to crash through yours."
He smiles.
"I think I'll miss that most about you."
He eyes her warily but makes no move to attack. He slips easily into his fighting stance and holds his unignited lightsaber at the ready.
"Ready when you are."
He, however, doubted Keda's ability to attack. She seemed weakened. He didn't, however, doubt her intentions to attack.

*Keda tightened her grip over her wound with her left hand and raised her right towards Devlin. She slowly began to circle the Jedi with cautious steps to keep herself upright.*
"If I don't push myself beyond my limit, then it means that I never truly tried."
*Picking her target she started off at a slow jog then into a quick sprint at Devlin. Closing in on the Jedi, she brought her fist up to strike at his head. He attack weren't as fast now due to her injuries, but they still held the same determination in them.*

Devlin raises his right arm to block Keda's strike in an attempt to catch her fist with his forearm. He takes a step forward with his left leg and strikes with his left hand, palm open, into the center of her chest.
"There's no quit in you, Keda. Commendable. So, where does that leave us?"

*Keda's arm was easily caught by Devlin. Pain coursed through her body, and mainly the blaster wound, as his palm struck her. She clenched her jaw to keep from gasping in pain, it was then she tasted blood in her mouth. Her eyes locked onto Devlins, she could now feel blood beginning to run out of the corner of her mouth.*
"I'm not hardwired to quit." *She took a shaky step back away from Devlin but remained within arms reach.* "This probably leaves us back at square one, but I doubt for long. *She lowered her voice to just above a whisper, knowing Crix wouldn't pick it up on the comlink.* "It's all the time that I need though."
*She struck again. This time she lunged forward to strike with her left knee.*

Now Devlin was intrigued.
Keda's knee strikes Devlin's stomach. The air rushes from his lungs. He drops to one knee and places his right fist on the floor. He coughs. Then raises his head and looks Keda in the eyes.
"I'm curious. Once you've defeated me, what's your next move?"

*Keda looked down into Devlins eyes for several seconds before answering.*
"I don't know what I'd do. Either way, I lose no matter what the outcome."

Devlin breathes a little easier. He gets to his feet. He warily watches Crix, Keda, and Ace.
He was uncertain who would make the next move or if he would even be the target.
"Life is full of choices."

Talon keeps his distance for the moment. He trusts his Master and his ability to control the situation. He knows if there is an entry, there is an exit strategy.
He sends a message through the force to Jacob Erie concerning their guest...with hopes of cutting off any escape routes.
There are answers needed, and hopefully, she can stay to answer them.

*Keda took several steps back from Devlin. She was now leaning slightly to her right side, breathing was also starting to become harder. Her eyes fell on Ace before she turned back to Devlin.*
"Sometimes, the choices are made for us whether we want them to our not. Does this not apply to the philosophy of force users? My brother and I know that all to well."

Devlin shrugs.
"Perhaps that is a way of thinking we aren't in control of our lives...but I prefer to consider it a way to gain perspective. You might call it fate or destiny; but we, Force-users, call it the will of the Force. Since the Force flows in us, around us, and through us--just as it does through all things--by seeking to understand its ebbs and flows we seek a better understanding of ourselves, the future, and our place in the universe."
He smirks.
"But, I am certain you are not here to listen to a philosophy lesson."
The Cardooinian grins.
"Suffice it to say: 'Always in motion, the future is.' Who knows what will happen in the next moment? Or how our choices will effect the future. Jedi may be able to see possible outcomes, but they cannot see every outcome."

*Keda thought about what Devlin said, it was true that she wasn't here to learn philosophy, she had never really paid much attention to it before anyways. She looked down at her wound, the blueish red blood was now seeping through her fingers and dripping to the floor, and mumbled to herself.*
"Always in motion."
*She knew she couldn't continue fighting, she was to injured. Her eyes gazed from Devlin to Ace, she then closed them and lowered her head in defeat.*

*Crix looked up at Devlin through the static of the holo*

"I believe the data we have collected today is sufficient. As for what happens now, I retrieve my subjects and leave Ossus. Ace, if you would be so kind as to collect Keda, we're leaving."
*Ace made his way towards Keda, he kept a healthy distance from Devlin incase of an attack. He reached his sister and picked her up as one would a child. Keda was to tired to fight back and resigned to her fate. Ace turned and faced Devlin.*

"Master Jedi, would you be so kind to lead us to the entrance without any incident?"

Devlin looks at Keda and nods.
"If that is what you wish."
He walks past Ace and through the doorway. He walks through the corridors toward the entrance to the Praxeum.
He felt saddened at Keda's defeat and capture; but some things just couldn't be fought...at least not on your own.

Devlin raises an eyebrow.
"Forsaken?"
He stops at the front door and gestures toward it with one hand.
This was their way out. And he wasn't sure if he'd get a deeper explanation. Or if he'd ever see them again. He wasn't sure if he was relieved or disappointed.

*Ace stopped beside Devlin and looked at the Jedi.*
-Ace-
"Yes, the ones left to a terrible fate. Nothing more then a fairytale from what I've heard."
*He began to move forward, but as he did Keda dropped the cylindrical device onto the floor. Inside was a small packet of information contained in a holo. Ace continued moving forward as if he noticed nothing.*

"Do not fear Master Jedi, for I'm sure we'll meet again."
*Without another word, he left the Jedi standing there with his thoughts.*

"Indeed."
He nods to Ace and watches the pair leave the Praxeum.
"May the Force be with you."
Once out of sight, he bends down and retrieves the holo. He walks into his office and places the holo on his desk. He picks it up and twirls it in his hand. Then places it back on the desk.
It intrigued him, no doubt. But it also worried him.
Why would Keda drop it? Why hadn't Ace noticed? Am I thinking too hard about it?
Closing his eyes, he lifted the holo into his palm and begin to meditate.
Not that he expected the holo to reveal its secrets while he meditated.
After a few calming breaths, he opens his eyes. He places the holo on a computer terminal separate from the rest of the Praxeum's network and activates the holo.
"Better I figure out what it is sooner. That way I know if someone is trying to kill me before they try it."
