When she had trained an learned her skills in the Unknown, Shel had never received reward for doing her duty, because it was what was expected of her. She was meant to use her Battle Meditation to win the fleets battles. She was meant to take up the mantle of leadership and guide her crew home. She was meant to serve the Empire when she returned. Now it was all in front of her. A life time of service to the Empire was finally, as others would put it, paying off. But this to Shel was another assignment. Another task that was asked of her by her Emperor because of this unquestioning sense of duty and loyalty. Nodding, seeming accepting the answer, whether she agreed with the finer points of it or not, it was not her place. If Nicademus wished this to be a reward, than so it would be. The next words she spoke were similar to those a sycophant would use, however she did not make them bigger than what they were, it was simply a matter-of-fact.
=Shel= Thank you, Your Majesty. My only desire has always been to serve, I am glad that you are so pleased with my efforts. As long as I can draw breath the well being of this Empire will be my soul focus. And as a Grand Moff I will have even greater opportunities to make this so. Thank you, again, for this opportunity, my liege.

As long as I can draw breath the well being of this Empire will be my soul focus. And as a Grand Moff I will have even greater opportunities to make this so. Thank you, again, for this opportunity, my liege. The Emperor was pleased with Shel's response. Her career was one that showed capability, but the record indicated no reward for services rendered. Nicademus was not the sort of ruler to leave his subordinates wanting. Those who showed merit and deserved reward were granted it. This was the structure of meritocracy that was strong within the fabric of the First Order. Doors were only closed if one did not work for them nor deserved it to be open without merit to their name. Birthright, connection, bloodlines... it meant nothing if one could not prove themselves worthy. Something that Nicademus did his utmost to ensure Octavian and Fiora were ready to rule. That the merit, of their name, would earn them respect and justify the legacy they sought to continue after his time.
The Imperial glances out at the shipyards of Yaga Minor. These shipyards will miss your presence, but Yaga Minor must remain for the usage of Grand Moff Kasalle and to support the Oversector run by Director Piett. These facilities are important to our Outer Rim defenses and presence. He turns to Shel Hu.I have ensured that you have command over Bilbringi and Corulag. Both are vital worlds given the former has important shipbuilding facilities and the latter has strong ties to the Imperial Army. Garqi is a quiet world, so you won't have to worry much. The Emperor then gestures to his brother, the Grand Marshal Baltasar.Report to the Grand Marshal when you have chosen a headquarter for your Oversector.Nicademus continues to gaze upon the newly made Grand Moff.I have no doubt that you will do well, Grand Moff Hu.

Shel gave a short nod in response to the Emperor's explanation as to why Yaga Minor would no longer be under her purview. It had been nice, having a single place to orbit, instead of constantly being on the move. Regular shore leaves had also helped the crew moral. But as a Void Born, it was to her ship that she truly felt a kinship.
=Shel= Of, course, I would not dream of wishing to deny Grand Moff Kasalle of this world, a very useful one at that. But to where my capital would be. I would, if it is all the same to you, my lord, wish to continue to operate from orbit. I have lived my whole life aboard this ship. It will also save us trouble and resources constructing new facilities planet side. It will also allow me to move as needed between my worlds, as need arises. Of course, if you would rather I choose a world to set as my capital, I would be inclined to choose Bilbringi.

She had, at least, two choices, one of which she named. The other was Corulag, which was a significant prize within the Empire. It was the second of prestigious academies dedicated to the education and drilling of future soldiers of the Imperial Army and Navy. Grand Moff Hu had her the right to name her capital within her Oversector.I would have otherwise suggested Corulag, but Bilbringi will do. I know you enjoy the comforts and familiarity of your vessels. Bilbringi sits upon a vital hyperlane too, between our holdings in the Outer Rim and the Core. So, choosing that as your place of operations seems and sounds reasonable. The Emperor replies with a nod of his head. You have my approval, Grand Moff Hu.

Shel bowed her head to the Emperor once more.
=Shel= Thank you, my Emperor. I will begin the process of moving at once. I look forward to furthering our mission in this new Oversector.
The Miraluka was already beginning to shift her crew's focus through her Battle Meditation. It wouldn't be long before they were ready to depart Yaga Minor and head for Bilbringi.
=Shel= Is their anything else, Your Majesty?

Suspicious activities within the neighbouring systems have been put to an end by an Imperial squadron, as a group of pirates was brought to justice by the laser fire of an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer and it's escorts. Most of the ship wreckages drift around as a smaller debris, while the leading ship, a modified Providence-class Destroyer, has escaped the battle. It is unknown, why the pirates thought that a skirmish within reach of the Yaga Minor Shipyards would be a wise idea, given that there's not much to gain from the region itself, yet it is suspected that the individuals in question were probably hoping steal incoming kyber crystal deliveries from Ilum or other easy prey. While it is up to speculation, given that there were no survivors, the case is closed for the navy, even though Grand Admiral Kasalle has send a request to the ISB to make sure that informations about the fleeing vessel and their commander are obtained.

The Yaga Minor shipyards were among the tireless locations of the resurgent Empire. Having been the first system taken by the would-be Emperor, before the formation of the First Order, it's shipbuilding capabilities became of vital importance to the fledging nation as it expanded, strengthened, and projected its power into the galaxy. Many remembered the days when it, alongside Bilbringi, churned out starships in droves to fuel the war machine that would ignite the Reclamation Wars and, eventually, the Third Galactic Civil War. Many a notable ship was built here and many legends were born within the ranks of the Imperial Navy at these docks.
With his arm almost healed, Saren ensured he departed the hospital at Taris to make his way to Yaga Minor. There, the Grand Inquisitor had utilized her newly founded influence to ensure a new fleet was formed for her Deputy Commander. Gazing at the star piece, a Regulator-class Star Destroyer, Vidarr knew that his days as an Admiral were over. He couldn't perform both the duty of a fleet commander as well as his obligations as the Deputy Commander of the ISB. And so, there was a reason why his trusted lieutenant, Val Cardas, was with him. Thankfully, the mutiny had spared his life as well as that of Arsus Bravanc and Gil Berend.
=Val Cardas= ...Are you serious?!
The reaction had come when Saren showed the officiated documents that raised Cardas from a simple Captain to the rank of Commodore, equaling him to that of Rear and Vice Admirals. His former superior nodded his head in affirmation of the promotion that was being granted to his lieutenant.
Command of the Hercules II and her sister ships will fall to you, Cardas. As Deputy Commander of the ISB, I will have new duties, ones that will keep me away from the fleet. Although the First Order has been generous to let me keep a rank within the Navy, a simple honorary title of Senior Admiral, the ISB work will certainly keep me more on planets and in cities.
Saren chuckles, never imagining his role would put his boots more on the ground now. Yet, Zariel requested his services and gave him his place, by her side, as her second-in-command, just as he had been before the Diarchy and during its minor existence. It seemed that the Grand Inquisitor's desire for his services would not be dying anytime soon.
You will have good persons to help you though. First Order has quite the academies and their regimens in education have churned out fine recruits and officers. Even Gil plans to attend one, officially, and continue his services in the Navy after. You might have a young new officer at hand soon enough.
Vidarr smiles as he pats Cardas on the shoulder. His time in the Navy had come to an end, perhaps permanently or perhaps for now. It had been good and bad years, but the experience had been fruitful. Now, the Imperial had a new job and a new station to report for. Arsus would be joining him as his favored subordinate as well as Maxir and his Gang of Five.

Some time after the events at Byss
Having returned from a previous mission from the Inner Core, several Acclamator-class vessels deliver the veterans of the 709th Legion and those, that recently joined their ranks from the training grounds of Adumar to the surface of Yaga Minor with some of the troops remaining in orbit of the dockyards. Given recent military successes, it seemed that this honored regiment would take up the leadership of present cohorts, as the 709th was making themselves a name as one of the more mobile regiments, that the First Order could unleash upon the galaxy.
Time would tell what these movements were indicating.

Jenia KasalleThomas ZahnMavera NakoA TIE-X fighter squadron, screeched by the surface of the Bellator-class flagship of this combined Imperial fleet. They trailed after Aelph-class starfighters, taken over by a group of Imperial mutineers. The TIE-Xs opened up their laser cannons, striking down a few before chasing them further away from the capital ship of the Royalist Navy. Octavian had watched the dogfight, from upon the bridge, before looking forward at the carnage that had unfolded in the Yaga Minor system. The reports were true: a rebel cell had erupted here and caused havoc. And their intentions seemed obvious, according to the lead Military Researcher, who had they managed to contact.
Yaga Minor, along with Bilbringi, had been the site of major shipyards that served as the bedrock for Imperial Military resurgence under his late father. But, more recently, they had been the testing area for a new starfighter, the TIE Imperium. The lead researcher had reported the rebels earnest advance towards the well-secure part of the shipyards where the prototype starfighters were housed. It seemed the same was happening on Bilbringi, a great worry to the Emperor. Octavian didn't want these new starfighters to fall into enemy hands, but unfortunately, these rebels came prepared.
Upon arriving in the system, the local defense fleet was found holding off a rebel fleet composed of several Tector-class Star Destroyers, a handful of fleet carriers, and a strong presence of fierce destroyers and support vessels. These rebels... they weren't simple mutineers. Even though the First Prefect was away with the Grand Admiral, Octavian had asked his Yuuzhan Vong to aid in securing Intelligence they vitally needed. Roland Ferrum had given them a good picture with the transmission he had managed to slip to the Emperor at Bastion, but there was more than what could be seen right now.
Octavian pulls away from a guard rail to return to the holomap of the ongoing battle. Royalist ships were arriving still and helping in repelling the enemy fleet that had parked itself close to the shipyards. Stormtroopers were being deployed to the orbital facilities to help in relieving the defensive forces keeping the starfighters from falling into enemy hands. We have to make this quick if we are to help Bilbringi and still make our time table for penetrating into the Core...

Thomas Zahn, as the only remaining Grand Marshal that was loyal to the Emperor, stood opposite Octavian at the Holomap whilst a projection of Lieutenant General MacCoinneach stood just to his side. Several landing craft showed up on the map as they headed for the orbital facilities with units from Umbra Company and the 201st Legion aboard to assist in reinforcing the stations before they would move on to the Shipyards. But first the defences needed to be secured Dinna fash yirsel aboot it, we'll hae thae stations secured soon enough. Then oan tae th' shipyards! we'll be landing in five minutes. Zahn gave a nod as Gregor delivered his current status whilst trying to reassure the Emperor. Leaning over the display he motioned to a group of Acclamator's and designated a landing site ground side The Lieutenant General is correct. This is merely a distraction. We'll have these rebels crushed soon enough and they won't be so eager to challenge the Empire afterwards... Then we can deal with much more pressing matters. The Core Worlds were ablaze with rebellion and conflicting reports. The most known factor was that Baltasar had declared himself Emperor upon Coruscant. Forces loyal to him across the Core had started to engage and bring worlds into his power. What was less clear, was the situation with the Ren. There was news of an attack upon Kuat and rumours that Fiora had declared herself Empress from Empress Teta. This seemed like the most relevant truth. But it could be the strike on Kuat had been to remove agitators under the rule of Baltasar and claims to the Throne were meant to wedge a divide between the Royal Siblings. What ever the truth, they would find it out soon enough

Stuffed into an overcrowded landing craft, Mavera and Dawntree waited eagerly. Dawntree's typically simple saddle and bridle bore more adornment than usual. Charms and wards that the Witch had crafted to help protect her already sturdy companion from harm. They were simple compared to the more skilled Sisters back home, but for now they were better than nothing. Since news of the chaos had reached her, Mavera and Dawntree both had held an anxious amount of energy, that only could be born by a den-mother separated from her cubs. She knew her duty as an honorary Imperial Knight was to protect the Emperor, but that also extended to his family, to his younger siblings and mother that were now out of contact and had become Mavera's first real connection outside of Dathomir. The shuttle was not large enough for her to already be mounted onto the back of her Rancor companion, so she stood beside her. Both hands gripping her saber hilts with ever whitening knuckles. From what was coming over the coms, their shuttle would be putting down in one of the hanger bays to secure a landing zone. The rocking and jolting of the ship, as it evaded incoming fire, didn't seem to bother Mavera at all. She knew her duty, the sooner Yaga Minor was re-secured, the sooner they could push for the Core. Here we go! The witch said through gritted teeth as she felt the shuttle shutter onto the deck and the hiss of the doors depressurize. Answered by and eager snort from the large beast beside her. Mavera's yellow bladed sabers leapt to life as she and Dawntree launched themselves out of the ship like bolts leaving a blaster rifle. Fighting in tandem, the pair ripped into the foes arrayed before them. Tooth and claw, saber and magick, rip and tear.

The Emperor glances in the direction of the Lieutenant General who seemed to be the right-hand of the Grand Marshal Zahn. He understood their optimism, but Octavian felt that this was going to be a bloody fight. As Roland reported, a vast majority of the more seasoned and older among the military and its hierarchy supported the claim of his uncle, Baltasar Delvardus. Octavian had the support of the younger, eager, but inexperienced among the ranks. There were some rising stars, but he feared the loss of the veterancy and reputable among the Imperial Military once this war concluded... whatever that conclusion was. And worse, the rebel uncle had captured the pride of the Imperial Navy, the Pax Imperialis, which had been his father's flagship. A Super-class Star Destroyer with enough firepower to hold against any fleet.
Tenacity will certainly be in their favor... these are men who can fight ten of ours.
Certainly, a core of them must be with this strike at Yaga Minor and another at Bilbringi, considering how far they had penetrated the shipyards.
Grand Marshal, deploy our detachment of the 501st Legion. They should be more than a match for the veterans among their ranks.
The strategic reserve that Octavian would have to use carefully. After all, a good portion of the legion was killed at Coruscant, another kept at Bastion to defend their base of operations, and a third was now following the Emperor to the battlefields to come. They were to be vital. On the matter of the enemy fleet, Octavian contemplates, looking at the formation.
I can't seem to recall the specs, but do the prototypes of the TIE Imperiums have hyperdrives?

Using standard tactics, I would certainly agree. However you will find those odds drastically decreased thanks to the twentieth army... He keyed some commands then, sending out orders to have the 501st begin their deployment. While he was not particularly eager about using such a limited resource, he would acquis to the Emperor's Request, for now. New pings started coming online on the tactical display as additional transports started launching from the fleet and heading to reinforce the advanced parties which were already touching down and unloading boarding parties within the defence stations. Lieutenant General MacCoinneach would be leading the charge alongside the Stormtroopers of the 20th Army and the Imperial Knight Witch whom had been assigned to Octavians guard. Hopefully their combined forces would be able to blitz the traitors positions and get into the shipyards in an hour, two at most. Beyond that, they risked Baltasars Rebellion gaining access to experimental technology that could help shift the battles ahead within their favour.
When questioned, Zahn pulled up a rough technical spec hologram for the TIE Imperium. It was more marketing material than actual blueprint, but it was good to have the visual reference as he multiplied them and highlighted several in red Of those constructed, a dozen have functional Hyperdrives. The rest were for testing and have various systems missing, but could easily be finished once the blueprints were acquired. We'll make sure that doesn't happen. It might not seem all that certain, given the current circumstances. But Zahn was quite familiar with the experience his own army had gone through alongside the training those out of Corulag had been subject to. Experience under most standard Imperial training might be on the side of Baltasars Rebels, but they had never faced the foes Zahn had out in the Unknown Regions
The AALs had disgorged their occupants the moment they'd touched down in the Hangar Bays. Initially there appeared very little identifying way to differentiate each side other than the opening firefight between those coursing out of the Landers and those holding defensive positions. However, the Grand Marshal had foreseen this issue and had ensured a mixture of identifying bands and marks were used to distinguish friend from foe. When the battle was underway, they would have only a moment to sort out who was who. This way they could do so at a glance.
More and more Stormtroopers continued to flood into the Golan III's as they pushed their way through the defending forces and kept the pressure on toward the Control Room

Gregor was certain that from afar, the attack must have felt like a much more drawn out and sordid affair. But up close and in the trenches with the Stormtroopers of the 20th Army and the 501st Legion? Well that was a very different tale. Blaster fire and grenade explosions kept your senses ablaze with alertness as you were forced into a fight or flight mentality. You could not afford to let your guard down in this environment, those that did found themselves dead quickly. A couple unlucky new additions to the armies ranks had learned that lesson the hard way when they'd caught blaster bolts in the soft spots between their armour plates.
The push through the Golan III's continued. Both sides were taking losses, but what the defenders did not have, was a stream of reinforcements. Even as members of the 20th and 501st fell, new brothers and sisters in arms took up their fallen comrades places. Baltasars Traitors lacked this strength and as their numbers diminished, so too did their strength and hold of the Stations. Gregor was certain that it would not be long yet before the Golan's were taken and then the assault could begin upon the shipyards proper

A dozen too many... if the reports were true, the defenders were hard pressed by the rebels and traitors advancing upon the facility where the prototypes were housed. Octavian seemed to go quiet now, almost similar to how his father had been when he thought. Damnable traitors. He recalled the stories of the Imperial Mutiny when his father ascended the throne after the sudden disappearance of Sinistra. Contained to the Deep Core, there were reports within the Imperial Military records showing various hunting operations against stragglers that existed till recently. Now another civil war was on hand, greater than the one before. Had he failed at something? Was this a sign that he, Octavian, was not ready?
His thoughts were interrupted by an officer coming up to him and the Grand Marshal. The Emperor waved his hand, allowing the male to speak.
=Officer= Your Majesty, Grand Marshal, report from the defenses: the rebels have broken through. There is a scramble now for the TIE Imperiums.
Octavian knew what this meant. These prototypes were top of the line and, even without their hyperdrives, they could be an issue if in the wrong hands. Octavian rose from his seat, looking out at the space and the shipyard facilities. His eyes twitched to both places before he turned to the commanding Admiral.
Renew our pressure on those Star Destroyers! We can't let them get away!
The Emperor commanded as the commanding naval officer acknowledged the order. A flurry of new commands were sent to a handful of squadrons as they broke off from the main fighting and proceeded to the section where the TIE/Imps were being housed. Best to minimalize the damage as much as possible.
Grand Marshal, are the testing pilots present on the shipyards or planet side? Are they loyalists or not?

Once the Golan that Mavera had been deployed to was secure, she and Dawntree once more crammed themselves into a transport shuttle as the push for the shipyards themselves began. The Witch and Rancor duo took the time to rest. The pair had been pushing themselves recently, with the death, capture, or MIA status or so many Knights, the Dathomiran felt responsible to pick up the missing slack. Her relentless efforts and wrath in battle with the traitors would have given a Nightsister pause back home. But this short space flight, while itself dangerous due to the continued battle in orbit, did give her and Dawntree an opportunity to cool down. After wiping away the sweat and blood on her brow, Mavera managed to wedge herself into a position to clean out a shard of Stormtrooper armor that had gotten stuck between some of her companion's teeth. There! I could feel the distress that was causing you, sister. Dawntree snorted a thank you. The shuttle shuttered and its doors began to hiss again, signalling that the battle was soon to be joined once more.
The ship yards offered more open space, allowing Dawntree and Mavera to fight as mount and rider instead of two individuals. They made the spearhead that pushed to secure where the new prototype ships were being stored. It was made clear that securing that location was top priority. Saber blades flashed and rancor claws rent; where ever they were was a moral hit for the enemy. For it is one thing to hear over comms about a wild woman on the back of an unstoppable beast, it is another when they are bearing down on your position with deadly intent. Not to mention the loyalist soldiers at their backs.

Zahn worked several controls on the command table and brought up the Test Pilot program for the TIE/Imps. 20 head shots appeared with the pilots name and rank. He then marked several pilots in green and several in red It depends upon your definition of loyalist... But of the twenty pilots, twelve have been confirmed loyal to you and seven have been confirmed as siding with Baltasar. The Commander, however, remains an unknown. He could side with us, or... your Uncle. How his decision falls, will affect several pilots. Working some more controls, the projections then shifted into 2 groups These nine pilots were station side when the attack began and the rest were ground side. of those nine, they are split evenly with the Commander as the only neutral. Not enough to make off with all of the TIE/Imps or turn them all against us. Last intel reports were that they had been confined to quarters and locked down. But... Understandably if they do decide to side with Baltasar, they wont remain confined for long. That's assuming your Uncle is the only person in play here. Whoever your mysterious shadow is... He could represent a third side with loyalties to parties unknown... A Communications Officer hurried over to the table then, his hand falling from his ear piece as a long range call was relayed to him We just received a message from Captain Alastair Voz of Task Force Kingsword at Ralltiir. It appears Baltasars forces were defeated before their arrival, however... He reports Ren Forces in orbit above the planet with a... A Mandator Five? The day was going from bad to worse. Zahn was not intimately familiar with the Mandator V project since it fell under the Navy, but he had been briefed on the Ships intended capabilities Shit... dismissed! The Officer gave a curt bow before returning to his station to await the further updates that had been offered. Zahn brought up the Mandator V files he could find and projected it on the table Well, if they're not allies, that will complicate matters here further... The Obsidian Order was on Imperial Intelligences Radar before all this. its exact membership is unknown, but it could affect where loyalties lay if they are making a move... I mean no disrespect Your Majesty, but it is a possibility we need to consider. Harnan Ren is not ranking at the top of everyone's most loyal list... It was a bold move to imply the Ren, and by extension his own Sister, were potentially traitors. But it was not his job to assume the best any more. If they had possession of the Mandator V, then they had passed through Kuat. Maybe they were just executing a pincer movement against Baltasar and Captain Voz would radio back soon with such news. But he had a feeling that was not likely to happen
Lieutenant General MacCoinneach led the charge alongside the 501st and 20th armies as the transports docked and came up in the charge behind the Rancor riding Imperial Knight. With the main fleets engaged, the 3 Veers-Class Legion Support Cruisers made their pushes into the shipyards, docking in dry docks and connecting to the yards bays. Forces from the 20th Army and those belonging to the Army Corps of Engineers streamed out from their ships to provide a larger reinforcement pool to deal with the rebels rear guard

The report by the officer did bring Octavian's attention away from the battlefield and to what was said. It seemed the force, sent from Taris, under the command of the Grand Admiral and First Prefect, had finally hit Ralltiir. However, the report of a Ren presence and now the news of the missing Mandator V project did alert the young Emperor. While Zahn looked for the files on the Mandator, Octavian took a moment to fall silent and contemplate. The Ren were making a move... public view, both within and outside the Imperial government, towards the Ren, was not at all the best. Despite a Ren being the first Empress and mothering himself and his twin sister, the heirs of his late father.
Eventually, Octavian's eyes blink as they refocus on the conflict before the bridge of the Vigilance. Breathing deeply, he looks to the Grand Marshal.
Apply the pressure. Get in communication with the commander you spoke of, promise him a promotion to Captain and becoming a squadron commander within the Imperial First Fleet. Such an opportunity should make him think since We are here and it is the traitor attacking Yaga Minor, not Us.
His tone changing as he could see now that if things didn't break here, the Imperial offensive into the Core would be slowed. Octavian could see now why his father told him that ruling required a just and firm hand. That an Empire needed a degree of fear upon its subordinates, fear of what happens if they crossed the line of treason and sedition against the First Order. He had planned things differently, but now, it seemed... he would have to do what was necessary to preserve the legacy of his late father.
Remind him of his loyalties to the state and the dynasty. Remind him what my father did to traitors and that We are capable of doing the same.
Octavian looks once more at the battlefield and then to Zahn.
Once that is secure, the fleet must push the traitorous presence out of Yaga Minor's orbit. We must make for Bilbringi and Core soon.

If we can make contact, I'll be sure to relay your message... The last contact that had been made with the test pilots had been before the attack had begun. Pure tearing th' steid up.He left the comm link on receiver mode as he lifted up his pistol and looked to some Stormtroopers nearbyC'moan ye cowards, push onwards! As ever always, Gregor was not one to simply lead from behind as he pushed over the crate and lead the charge up behind the Imperial Knight and her Rancor Companion, shooting out several rebels that had been trying to get in close. Blaster bolts whizzed and burned by in near misses, grazing his armour. the 501st and the 20th Army, however, were more more skilled marksman and were dropping targets. Whereas Baltasars Rebels were trying to hastily adapt to rebel tactics, Gregor and the 20th Army had been forged in the crucible of the Unknown Regions in dealing with such rabble.
The push through the shipyards was a long haul, but they were finally nearing the labs area where the Imperiums were being produced. The Lieutenant General was dismayed to find the quarters where the pilots had been holding up were now empty. With Mavera pushing on, he gave the place a once over as he activated his comm linkIll speirins sur, th' pilots ur gaen... Zahn hadn't held high hopes that the pilots would still be in a secured location, but it definitely would have been niceIt seems the Commander either made a choice, or was forced to make one... There was an alert as several explosions tore holes in the shipyards and several TIE Imperiums broke free of their hangar bays. The Communications Officer approached the table with a grim expressionCaptain Voz just sent through an update sirs... Begging your pardon, but Fiora Ren has claimed herself as Empress and declared you a failure. The Forces under the Grand Admiral are still engaged and making progress. The Communications Officer quickly hurried away back to his post, not wishing to intrude upon the Emperor and Grand Marshal's time any more than he absolutely needed to, especially with such news

Octavian had heard what Zahn had said, but what came next struck him right in the heart. His own sister, his twin, the one he had shared a womb with and had been his most closest and cherished of friends had... utterly betrayed him. Fiora declared him a failure, proclaimed herself Empress, and raised a new banner of rebellion. Now there was not a rebellious uncle, but also a traitorous sister. His own family had fallen apart... Octavian had felt the death of his uncle Brock, heard of the coup by Baltasar, and now the treasonous proclamation by his twin sister. Roland, Remus, Yvaine, and Faina were safe. Amaris likely chose her place in all of this chaos.
Even as the Vigilance shook under the weight of a new bombardment from turbolasers, the Emperor had fallen absolutely silent. His eyes even glazed over, dimming from their usual bright color to a dull hue. Those who had helped teach him, those who had leaned upon, those his own father had told him 'trust above all others' had died or stabbed him in the back. Eventually, Octavian blinked and came back to the chaotic reality. His eyes looked forward at the enemy fleet they were engaging and then at the mess that was the shipyards.
Grand Marshal... blast a hole through these traitorous ships. And then send a message to them.
Octavian looks at Thomas Zahn.
'We do not forgive twice.' Give them the opportunity to surrender or face the wrath of the Empire.
The Emperor would see this battle concluded and then onward to the very claws and daggers of traitors.
