There was a time for Zahn when his feelings regarding Force Users were very black and white. But the last few years spent developing the HOPLITE Project had definitely had a marked affect on those views. He'd been forced to trust a Force User, a former Jedi at that, with teaching the HOPLITEs how to use the Force and fight against those that could use it. Granted, Idris held some resentment to his former comrades and had been willing to help train a fighting force meant to protect against similar such religious zealots wrecking havoc upon the galaxy again. But the man had earned a certain amount of respect from the Grand Marshal, and that had affected the way he viewed other Force Users. He did not trust them still, but he was not so quick to think of them so inhumanely as he once had.
Thus there was some mixed feelings as the Comms Officer had stepped forth to deliver his report before scurrying away. On the one hand, he was unsurprised to learn of the Ren's betrayal. As a group, they were the kinds of organizations he sought to protect the Empire from being lead by in to Ruin. But at the same time, he could better sympathise with how Octavian would feel, given the betrayal by his own Sister.
He gave the Emperor a moment to process everything, not daring to interrupt him. But he was ready when the man finally spoke. As the situation stood, there was no real hope left of preventing escape, only dealing as much damage to those assembled
It would be my pleasure... You heard the Emperor! SHATTER THEM!
Orders were relayed about, with the starfighters pulling away as the handful of Onager-class Star Destroyers with the fleet powered up their main guns and fired. Lancing shots of energy fired out across the battle field and tore into several of the Star Destroyers primarily belonging to Baltasar's rebellion, but that could also include Ren spies. Starfighters started scattering, the prototypes fleeing the field as fast as they could. A few fell victim to Loyalist Starfighters or laser cannons, but others were just simply too fast and far away. Soon they would become tiny flecks of light as they jumped to hyperspace. The Grand Marshal turned to a comms unit
Hear this! Lay down your arms and surrender! Or be destroyed!
There was a few moments of silence as some of the smaller vessels debated their choices before flying flags of peace. But the larger Destroyers stood resolute and continued to fight. But a few more shots from the Siege Breakers disabled them enough to make them surrender, or breached the ships reactor left nothing but a debris cloud. The last stand of Baltasars Rebels at Yaga Minor was over. Reports were quickly coming in about the surrender and capture of prisoners aboard the shipyards. It would be some time yet before the total loss was tallied. But the TIE Imperium was no longer a secret
Yaga Minor has been rescued Your Highness. Reinforcements should arrive soon to secure the sector. Once we retrieve our forces, what shall be our next destination?
