The Sith Citadel was both the capital city and the meeting place of the ancient Sith Council. It as built sometime before the Great Hyperspace War by the Sith Empire, who referred to it as the Great Citadel.

A massive, looming dark figure towered out of the tallest mountain peak, which happened to be a connection of three extinct stratovolcanoes, whose magma chambers dried up millennia ago; below was sheltered fortification, constructed in the shape of a ghost town, in the valley between the mountains that housed the remainder of the entire citadel complex. The main spire was on top of a cliff with a sheer drop down. It was huge. It was intimidating. It was abandoned. Which made it all the more frightening. Around the far side of the citadel were dense, massive barricade gates that regulated the flow of the powerful avalanches that would happen when the mountains overloaded with snow at the slightest tectonic tremor.
But Angel's forces were Sith troopers. They'd experienced far worse in their combat training. The ships finally found a place to land where the massive mountain shielded them from the whiteout; the massive frigate landed further ahead on an open snow plain. The bulk freighters lowered their ramps, and Angel's army began occupying and securing the base, setting up command posts, checkpoints and exploring the entire compound of the Sith Citadel. Only the AAC-2 hovertanks deployed out into the terrain to set up a defense perimetre on the outskirts of the place. Once they set up, the tank droids rolled out to reinforce their position. Finally, the fearsome shadow AT-ATs – blending in well with Citadel colours (or lack thereof) – emerged from the massive transport, guns on safety and trained on the airspace above to shoot down any unwelcome invaders above.
The standard troopers and guardsmen set out on foot in snow-gear to stake claim and set Iridonian territory markers on the Citadel, claiming Ziost for their Sith Empire from the bottom up. The jet trooper brigade rocketed up to the higher levels to explore from the top down. All of them travelled in companies of a hundred, each never more than two hundred metres from each other, so that reinforcements would be on hand the moment something awry popped up. Knowing Ziost as a nexus for the dark side, you never know what Sithspawn or tangible dark-side illusion could pop up.
The remaining corps divided into brigades and began constructing prefab shelters as an extension to the ghost town. Commander Kaz himself oversaw this. Angel's Sith Inquisitor apprentice, Tempest, emerged from the frigate next to Kaz.
Excellent. We will set this place up conducive for Lord Angel and his associates to service as a getaway spot. No Jedi would bother to bother them here.
This place is stronger in the dark side than Iridonia. It breathes the very essence of shadow. My master will be most pleased.
Tempest's eyes glowed amber with the power of the dark side that augmented his naturally strong Force gift. It fed the darkside beast within him. He backflipped onto the stalagmite behind him and propelled into the air, unaffected by the stinging cold, and flew in himself to seek out Sithspawn for him to massacre. Touching down gently at the foot of the main entrance, he waved his hands apart, and the massive entrance doors creaked open. Tempest drew his doublesaber, and the place illumed with an amber glow that matched his radiating eyes. Then, in one hand he gripped the blade while with the other, he formed an orb of coruscating amber light that further shed light, literally, upon the Citadel's very intricately crafted interior. Very tastefully done, and despite its abandonment, everything was surprisingly intact and usable. Only light fixtures and door lubrication would be necessary. With both his Force-ball and saberstaff to light the path before him, Tempest delved deeper into the Citadel to explore, running in to the troops at a regular basis as their footsteps filled the Citadel. "Good", he thought, "they know my master's penchant for efficiency."

By the time the troopers had searched every nook and cranny within the Citadel, a full planetary rotation had passed and the storm had died down. The troopers worked on shifts, building and resting in prefab shelters and exploring the place. By the next day, Tempest oversaw the revamping of the unkempt place. From the frigate, the troopers dragged along all the interior design to culturise the place into a suitable Sith structure that fit with the raw ebbing power of the darkside that flowed through the cavernous halls. Markers and checkpoint stations had helped construct a holomap of the entire grounds, to aid in the refurbishment of the place. There was room for training grounds, quarters, archives, hangars, mezzanines, meditation chambers, courtyards, basically preinstalled into the building already. There was even a massive underground pool connected to the heart of the stratovolcano itself. If Tempest were to compare it to anything on Iridonia, it'd look like a mix of the Sith Academy and the Dark Diamond, with the spaciousness of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and the intricacy of the Praxeum on Yavin 4.
The troopers worked on making the place in a habitable and hospitable condition. They began to work on electrical works to illuminate first, then waterworks that connected to the underground reservoirs beneath the Citadel. They tapped on the geothermal nature of the ground. They erected Sith designs all throughout the building, redid the flooring, carpeting, ceiling and walls, among others. They worked on establishing communications and HoloNet connectivity up to military standard in order to stay in constant contact with the fleet above. As they worked on everything, they hoped it'd progress smoothly and hopefully the place would be in operational condition within several weeks.

The Citadel had been renewed and expanded so that the place now radiated the very menace that oozed from every pore of the stone it was comprised of. Tempest walked into the main entrance door; it shut with less creakiness. The entrance was vast and had a royal air in it; the obsidian architecture made the place feel rather hollow. Tangible malice reverberated through the grand vastness of the place.
Tempest walked further in to a place where that tangible malice had magnetically drawn him; he saw ancient stones with hieroglyphic runes splayed over it. The writing was in Ancient Sith; it read "Wielders of Dark Light, Power of the Storm". The key to opening the gate to this secret labyrinth was a display of power. Inexperienced, it would cost. Tempest lifted his hand out toward the wall, palm facedown and fingers hooked down like talons, and sent a surge through the Force to the tips. Sparks of indigo terror, known more commonly as Force lightning, coruscated from burning fingertips struck the glyphs and translated into negated orange-and-black glows tracing along the lines. Tempest ceased the dark lightning to prevent further harm to his hand as the vermilion glows turned copper-red and the walls halve to open. Tempest's hand was sickly and charred from lack of mastery in Force lightning, but ultimately decided the price was necessary to open the gate where he had previously failed on Iridonia. As he walked through, he sent regenerative properties to it through the Force and the wounds slowly made reparation and the damage closed up. The dungeon looked dimly lit so far. Tempest walked in further; rumour has it that ancient Sithspawn were found here. Terentatek, derriphan, nekghouls, rakghouls, battle hydra, smoke demons, technobeasts, storm beasts, silooths, among others. He hoped to encounter a couple before he returned to the mystic gates that held them from wreaking havoc into the Citadel. Little did he know that the ancient spells were wearing off, and an experienced alchemist, or combined strength of several Sith Lords, were needed to fortify them once more.

Drip. Drip. Drip.
Had Tempest not undergone his countless trials at Banol's Maze, the hallucinating silence would've overloaded his imagination. As an Inquisitor, one of his goals was to master the art of Beast Control; the pinnacle of that taming a Terentatek, or at very least, the red canyon krayt. The Umbaran's ultraviolet vision excelled in the dark maze, illumed by the eerie luminescent ultraviolet moss that covered the rock walls along most of the passages. Cloaked in the Force, Tempest was hidden from most of the creatures he wasn't interested in, so as to not disturb their ambling, and that they wouldn't interfere with what he sought after. After half an hour of walking through the labyrinth, Tempest found the creature he sought after.
The canyon krayt dragon that had drawn Tempest's attention let out a savage roar and bounded towards him, swinging its massive tail-club at the Inquisitor. Tempest ducked under the attack, and felt the wind of the blow sing over him as it smashed into the wall. He tucked in his head and somersaulted towards an opening on the krayt's spine, and struck it with the hilt of his lightsaber. The creature roared and flailed, causing Tempest to somersault once again to avoid the buckling body.
Well, that was about as effective as trying to sober a Gamorrean with death sticks. Tempest drew one end of his doublesaber; the creature let out a savage bellow and lunged at the unfamiliar light. Tempest's blade sang as he swung it under as the krayt passed over. He sliced the creature's underbelly and it was dead before it landed, dissolving away into darkside mists.
That was too much., he thought.
Tempest went off to seek another, a Terentatek. Within moments, he found one, or rather, it found him. As the hide was immune to direct Force attacks, Tempest had to revert to environment. He aerial-twisted to the left and felt the thud of smooth obsidian on his side as he crunched up. As the overhang passed over his vision, he reached out with the Force and created a body-sized ball of compressed air, shooting it at the stalactite slab above as the terentatek passed over. The section collapsed like a dagger towards the terentatek's spines, cancelling each other out, but trapping it under the bulky weight of the rockslide. As Tempest approached this creature, Force lightning suddenly shot out of nowhere and zapped the wall in front of him; Tempest sensed a signature resonating from the new being. Another Force-sensitive here?
Tempest turned to see an indigo acklay with neon-green markings all over it; a rare Force-sensitive breed. Maybe this would be a better prize indeed. Leaving the terentatek behind, Tempest faced the Acklay. It inhaled and spat another splitstream volley at him, but this time, Tempest angled his doublesaber so that both blades caught the lightning; a third tendril struck out toward his face, but he lifted his free hand and caught it as well as he advanced forward.. Eventually, it ran out of breath and ceased the attack. Tempest circled the Acklay and dodged under its pincer movements, and overleapt when it sent Force Push shockwaves through the ground. With nimble agility, he flipped over the constant stabbing motions the acklay made with its legs, and even swung from the middle pair to rebound off a rock for momentum and pass back at the beast, smarting it with a dual blow from his blade. Stung and temporarily incapacitated, Tempest backflipped onto the creature's hard-armoured back as it recovered, and proceeded to use his own Force lightning, albeit at low-level incapacitation power, at the vulnerable neck portion. In pain, the creature screamed and flailed about, trying to throw him off. Shifting his balance multiple times, Tempest stayed on and only ceased the attack when he sensed the creature weaken from attrition. Tempest then reached into the mind of the creature and calmed it down by filling its mind with thought-projections of the emptiness of outer space, save the occasional twinkling starlight. Seemingly futile at first, Tempest concentrated harder with a grunt and visible mental effort. The starlight faded into pure nothingness, a black void. The acklay's muscles stopped tensing, its mind stopped going berserk, and its legs slumped down. Tempest leapt off and it looked as if the acklay was lifeless. But within moments, its reptilian eyes snapped open, now glossy, but glowing with the same amber that Tempest's eyes were. The acklay was finally bent to submission to his will. The creature made no attempt to fight anymore; it knew who was boss.

Romulus' Grey Unending and his 2 flanking MAATs zoomed down towards the Sith Citadel. Romulus could feel the power from that place. It was impressive, despite it being an empty faculty. He felt the Force for a place to land. Finally, the Force spoke back to him. He spoke into his comlink.
Sergeant, ready your men. On my signal, bring them in behind me. Wait for my mark.
The clone in-charge confirmed the order, and Romulus brought the Grey Unending around. It hovered just above one of the Citadel's highest towers. And then Romulus fired a missile at it.
The tower top was blasted away, and the next thing that happened was Romulus jumping out of the cockpit and fell right into the blasted rooftop of the tower. He landed with a powerful thud! and as he stood, the menacing sound of hissing and spitting filled the room. It was dark, but Romulus could see them through the Force: Gundarks.
But no, not ordinary Gundarks. Romulus sensed that something was different with them. But before he had time to wonder what it was, one of the creatures rushed forward and attacked Romulus, roaring. It lunged forward, mouth open and spitting, right into the blue blade of one of Romulus's lightsabers. The disgusting creature fell, dead, as Romulus ignited a second blue saber. He stood in the centre of the gundark-infested room, in the middle of the illuminated circle he had created in the rooftop. The other gundarks weren't attacking, and he knew why.
FEAR. They were scared of Romulus. And then Romulus realized it.
These things... They're force-sensitive. They can feel me in the Force.
That was how they could sense that Romulus was a very dangerous enemy. That was how they could feel DEATH radiating from the two glowing blades in Romulus' hands. But as Romulus studied them through the Force, he came to a conclusion.
No... not exactly. They can feel me. They can sense me. But that's it. They cannot respond through the Force, nor WITH the Force. All they can do is sense other beings and react to them. Probably some sort of defensive mechanism by the Sith of old.
But just as Romulus came to this conclusion, the gundarks suddenly decided to move. One of them roared loudly, the others followed in kind, and they all rushed towards Romulus. But Romulus didn't move. He didn't need to. With such an overwhelming enemy in front of them, the gundarks had failed to sense the arrival of Romulus' clonetroopers abseiling down through the hole in the roof. The gundarks got within 2 meters of Romulus, and suddenly they were riddled with blaster fire from above. Their dead bodies dropped to the floor the same time the first 4 clones touched down beside Romulus. They quickly established a defensive position around Romulus and the point-of-entry, while shooting down the other rampaging gundarks. Clones continued to enter through the rooftop, firing down upon the savage beasts.
And Romulus. Not wanting to miss out on the fun, Romulus raised his lightsabers, and attacked.
When the last of the 20 clonetroopers had dropped into the room, all the gundarks were slayed. Romulus himself was decapitating the final gundark as the Sergeant-in-charge approached him.
The room's secure sir. 2 casualties, but we're alright.
Good. Leave 3 men here, and the rest follow me.
Romulus walked over to the wall on the far side of the room as one of the clones took out a small ball from his utility belt. It looked like a metallic golf ball. He threw it into the air, and it began hovering 3 meters off the ground. One second later, it released a brilliant burst of light, illuminating the entire room. This light remained on as the clones regathered and reorganized themselves. The sergeant chose 3 men to guard the rooftop, and he and the other 16 men walked over to where Romulus had found the door out. Romulus opened the door, and gestured to the Sergeant. The Sergeant saluted the Sith Lord, and entered through the doorway down a long flight of stairs. Romulus let 6 clones pass him before cutting into the line, with the rest of the clones following behind.

An avalanche roared down the extinct stratovolcano by the broadside entrance opposite to Angel's landed transports as the spire fell off and triggered it. The steady dense fortifications held it back by redirecting it down an alternate path, crashing in finality far below the forest.
Sir, we have word that one of the high spires has just been blown off. We've scanned the ships and received word from above that these are Lord Romulus' ships.
Don't fire. Contact them and tell them we're about to have way more problems than that.
A guttural roar erupted from within the recesses of the citadel, followed by what sounded like millions more. It was a horrible sound that reverberated throughout the foundations of the building and threatened to release another avalanche.
Blasterfire was then seen from the lower few levels where the clones were stationed. The red, blue and green streaks of energy bolts could be seen rapidly flashing from the outside. The main doors swung wide open and troopers began sprinting out, firing at creatures that came straight out of a child's nightmare. Kaz took out a handful of cluster impact-sensitive grenades from his belt pack. Activating them, he yelled at the nearest troopers to vacate the premises. Once they did so, Kaz hurled the grenades into the creatures coming out, and set his wrist-mounted TriShot to lethal. Firing twice, he hit each of the six grenades, that detonated into twenty-four smaller grenades with equal force that also exploded, taking out the bulk of the pursuing force. Motioning to Lieutenant Deviss, they began walking towards their designated AAC-2, marked in the colours of the rank insignia. Bodies of both Sithspawn and Sith troopers began littering the massive open courtyard.
Get me into contact with Lord Tempest. See if he knows what is going on.
Meanwhile, Tempest rode his acklay out to the runestone opening, to find it blasted wide open and the place surrounding a mess. He heard a blasterfire storm and realised something was seriously wrong. Seconds later, a revelation hit him: the acklay he was riding is Sithspawn. Yet Sithspawn shouldn't have been able to penetrate the barrier. If his acklay made it to this point... that meant all the Sithspawn accumulating down below for the Force knows how long... are probably loose in all the levels above. He contacted Kaz.
Oh, pleasant to hear your voice! What are you doing? Have you been sleeping? Do you know what the Sithspit is going on here? All hell's breaking loose with these damn creatures everywhere tearing apart our fabrications!
I do. And I'm coming up to solve that problem. Get a platoon ready for my command. Also I've tamed an indigo acklay, so if you see me coming out riding on it, do not shoot. Understood? Tempest out.
Tempest motioned his acklay into full speed into the sub-basement level just above ground floor. The place was a firestorm. From one side, six canyon krayt dragons were putting up quite a fight for a hundred cornered Sith heavy troopers. They'd be massacred if Tempest didn't do something to stop that. He decided to test his new pet's lightning capacity out. Eyes glowing amber, he channeled his power down into his beast. The acklay opened its mouth under Tempest's command and released a punishing volley of indigo lightning straight at the advancing krayts. The acklay's aptitude for lightning was greater than Tempest's; he could channel lethal amounts that would require his arm's amputation, through his acklay, and the beast could bear the burden. The two nearest ones were immediately electrocuted; a third was incapacitated and a fourth was slightly injured. That one broke path and headed straight for Tempest and his acklay. Using the Force, Tempest controlled his acklay's movements as the krayt lunged and swiped its tail, dodging the swipes and countering the lunges. Tempest went prostrate on the acklay's back and used his hands to channel Force push energy into the acklay's forward pincers, as he learnt imbuing from Angel. The acklay lifted them up and smashed them down onto the krayt's spine, impaling it through the skull and first vertebra. The krayt fell dead at the acklay's pincers. Tempest got up on the acklay and motioned it out toward the remaining few krayts, in view of the astonished heavy troopers. This, Tempest would take care of.
He leapt up off his beast, and Force-decapitated the incapacitated krayt, then used his momentum to propel himself onto the nearer krayt's back. The heavy troopers started to concentrate their fire on the other krayt, starting to overwhelm it, as Tempest struggled with the krayt he leapt on. The creature shrugged him off and Tempest broke his fall with a back handspring. The krayt swerved and swung its massive tail into the wall, weakening the integrity of the stone. As it struggled to dislodge his tail, Tempest drew one end of his amber doublesaber, and cut off the krayt's tail by cleaving through it with effort. Letting out a terrible scream, the krayt moved to bite Tempest in two, only to be met with a roar of Force blast, knocking it right into the path of the heavy troopers' fire.
Sir, what is that massive spider looking thing behind you? It isn't attacking you. Should we attack it?
Lay a hand on it and I'll skin you for its breakfast. This is MY creature now. Head up and meet with the guardsmen on the second floor by the stairwells. It looks like they could use your heavy firepower.
Sir!
Saluting, the troopers went the alternate route. Tempest tapped something into his datapad, then took his acklay up the floor, and blended in to it to mask his presence from the rush of Sithspawn running out of the door. Once in the open, the place was smoking with blasterfire and bodies as the Sith troopers hosed down suppressive fire to prevent the Sithspawn from overrunning their position. The tank droids moved in to cut off a flank route, and the AACs provided reinforced the troopers' blasterfire with heavy cannonades from behind. The AT-ATs could not do much, lest they blow up the damn complex itself. Tempest's acklay seemingly hovered off the ground in flight, differentiating from the rest of the crowd. Knowing Kaz would've ordered the troopers not to fire on it lest he face Tempest's wrath, the acklay flew to Kaz's AAC and touched down gently as Tempest broke his telekinetic control and prevent further mental exertion on his part.
Impressive creature. Now, Lord Romulus has arrived. He's up in that blown-up tower ridge. You must find him and tell him what's going on, though he's probably heard the chaos by now. We've prepared the platoon you requested for. It's in that bulk freighter with the engines purring, awaiting your arrival for deployment.
I have uploaded the different types of creatures you should be encountering. These are genetically-enhanced Sithspawn, creatures melded and/or corrupted by the very essence of the darkside itself. Get a reading on what kind of creatures they are and how many are on each floor. Contact each level head and tell them to headcount. And this acklay has been tamed. Do not let it enter into battle till I return.
With that, Tempest sprinted towards the freighter, entered, and within a couple minutes, the transport ship lifted off into the air, and towards that broken spire.

The freighter's engines hummed healthily as it stabilised its hovering balance, where Tempest immediately flipped out into a pile of gundark carcasses. Gross.
He approached the three officers who had secured the room, as his fifty standard troopers rappelled down from the transport into the room behind him.
Any idea where Lord Romulus went?

Lord Romulus just left through that door, my Lord!
The clone pointed to the door on the far side of the room. At the same time, another clone was calling the Phoenix Song for reinforcements.
...459. These are the coordinates!! Mobilize the droptroopers NOW! That's a direct order from Lord Romulus!

Thank you, trooper.
Tempest acknowledged the troopers, then sprinted out the door, his troopers hot on his tail. He heard the sounds of blasterfire and a saber or two whirling below. He knew that Romulus must be close. His troopers had found another room and fought off mutated gorgodons that had cornered two squads of jet troopers. When they had been vanquished, the jet troopers joined in with them, and they doubled up to reach where Tempest was.

2 black, oddly-shaped MAATs could soon be seen soaring through the sky, high above the citadel. Oddly-shaped, for these particular MAATs lacked beam turrets, and it had a much wider body. From under the black hull, 6 curved hatches could be seen protruding downwards slightly. The MAATs circled the citadel for a few moments.
Lord Romulus, this is Midnight 1. BLACKTHUNDER is standing by. Ready for the call.
Down in the Citadel, it was chaos. Romulus and his squad of clones had ran into an open-aired meditating field, on the roof of the citadel. They had been surrounded by a new breed of Gundarks. These new monsters were roughly the same size as their natural counterparts. But they also had the ability to super-heat their claws which multiplied their destructiveness 5-fold. Romulus' 17-clone squad had been cut down to 8 men, struggling to survive. Romulus himself was getting tired of these creatures: some of their heated claws were able to block his lightsaber, making them more annoying to kill. Romulus cut the head off a gundark before replying to the transmission. He looked up into the air and locked his eyes on the first MAAT as he spoke.
Midnight 1, lock on to my position. Drop your load slightly further up ahead, to cut off these buggers from the other side. Tell them to come out HOT.
No problem, sir.
The hatches underneath Midnight 1 opened, and from all 6 holes, a small human-sized tube dropped out and ZOOMED down towards the citadel! These 'tubes' hit the meditation field's far side with a loud SMASH, and before the dust could clear, a single, black-armoured 'Droptrooper' burst out from it, weapons blazing. Romulus was particularly proud of his team of droptroopers. He had christened them 'BLACKTHUNDER', for the fact that they entered the battlefield LOUD and HARD. They were essentially clone commandos who'd been dropped from the air. All of Romulus' elite troopers had the freedom to customize their own uniform and weapon choices, such that one droptrooper wielded two heavy blaster pistols, and another lugged a huge belt-fed machine gun.
The gundarks never stood a chance. Sithspawn or not, they quickly fell from the sudden and immense blaster fire from behind them. 1 minute later and the 6 Droptroopers had eliminated all the gundarks. They walked forward and stood in one line as Romulus came towards them.
Flashy as always.
The leader of the Droptroopers, Thunder 1, grinned behind his visor.
Just another day on the job sir.
Romulus turned to address his surviving clones.
You guys guard this area. Any creature comes or goes, either shoot it down or call backup. Thunders, you're on me.
The clones all snapped to attention and spread out to cover the entire field. Romulus stepped over a dead gundark and walked over to a pair of huge metal doors which would lead to the heart of the citadel. The droptroopers quickly established a perimeter around their Sith Lord.
2, you're on point. 3 and 4, cover the flanks. 5, you're on the rear with me.
Romulus walked right up to the metal doors and studied it. These were no simple doors. They had been sealed shut... by the Force. Romulus could almost smell it. He placed his hand on the door and closed his eyes as he let the Force flow through it. He soon had a grip on the Force spell which kept the doors sealed. The next thing Rom did, he RIPPED the Force signature apart, and the doors shuddered loudly with an ominous groan. The droptroopers started, but they quickly resumed their perimeter stance.
Without waiting another second, Romulus, with his hand still planted with his palm on the metal doors, leaned his body weight forward and pushed.

Looks like I missed the party.
Tempest and his troopers had reached the room where Romulus and his were.
I brought backup with me. The main corps outside is under heavy fire at the courtyard by the largest mass of these... things.

...but the door did not open, for Romulus had been distracted by the arrival of his master's initiate. He removed his hand from the door and turned to address him.
Ahh, Tempest. Nice of you to join me. No worries, i've been keeping myself plenty occupied. Though you wanna bring me up to speed here? What unleashed this horrendous horde?
By the side of Romulus, a droptrooper muttered under his breath.
Great, another saber-dancing Sith. Just what we needed. Not like I wanted to shoot anything.
Keep your voice down, dammit. These guys are sharper than you think.
Thunder 2 raised an eyebrow from behind her visor, slightly amused by her fellow Droptroopers.
Pfffft, boys.

There's a dungeon at the base of this structure. It seems to be the nexus point of the power of the dark side you find here. These creatures, Sithspawn, are products of the very essence of the darkside itself. The place was sealed by an ancient spell barricade, that required Sith lightning of considerable intensity to unlock. In the Ancient language, it reads "Wielders of Dark Light, Power of the Storm". I managed to get inside, and tame a Force-sensitive acklay. It literally spits Force lightning out of its mouth, and is parked outside the tanks downstairs. But that's besides the point.
Normally, the arcane barrier would not permit the acklay to get beyond the wall. But the creature had passed by easily. The prominent sounds were yells, chaos and blasterfire the minute we exited the cave. Apparently, the spell has been weakened enough for the creatures to find a gap within to escape. I have no idea how long they've been housed under there, or how extensive the cavern network system links underneath the magma chambers, but what I do know is that the barrier must be restored and reinforced with powerful Sith Alchemy, certainly beyond my capacity.
Judging by the amount of blasterfire you're hearing... we're gonna have to fight our way down there. Here is the projected holomap the army has constructed based on extensive reconnaissance before the attack.
Tempest produced a holoprojector and threw it on the ground; illuming the place in the azure glow of the building's schematics.
There are thirty floors from rooftop to ground, but the dungeon has remained unmarked, although it is definitely in the basement. The door you were just opening... there's bound to be hell beyond there. The list that's been compiled by the forces below reads as follows: they've encountered terentateks, nekghouls, derriphans, hydras, krayts, silooths, storm beasts, nexus, rancors, sand demons, dragonsnakes, accipiptero, gundarks, bursas, nightdevils, goraxes, acklays and wampas. Mutations have rendered some creatures Force-sensitive, Force-imbued, or even Force-immune. knows how many millennia these creatures have been under there for the spell to take that long to enervate. You'll encounter more of the troops fighting down there. I'm sure they'll join in.
I have a feeling we're gonna need Lord Angel for this, but I'm not sure how long it'll take him to reach here.
Meanwhile outside, the troops were beginning to sustain heavier casualties. Kaz had called them back and the tanks had taken over, raining suppressive cover fire on the beasts that fought back. Defeated beasts would dissipate into the darkside mist from which they were conceived. The jet troopers had vacated their compromised floors as the beasts began swarming and overwhelming their position
Get the AT-ATs ready. We need them to back our AACs. Do NOT take down the structure, and don't leave too many of those kriffing craters in the ground.
Get the ground forces to restock, regather, and rally again. Deviss, what is the total we've got per floor?
As Deviss handed him the layout, Kaz relayed the information to Tempest via holo-link. The tanks made a heavy line and a firestorm of anti-infantry missiles launched forward. The creatures, who deemed the corps as invaders, seemed intent on stampeding only them, and left most of the refurbished interior intact...
The shadow AT-ATs that loomed behind launched a laser cannon volley that took out the wave behind the AAC missile barrage, granting a temporary reprieve in the firefight for their restocking and replenishing.
In the room, Tempest was motioning towards the door before he stopped in his tracks. A shout of the Force impulsed him to Force-pull the troopers nearest to the door, as it exploded open and several technobeasts as well giant mutated mynocks bounded into the room. From the darkness beyond the room, the roar of chrysalides and wing-flapping of battle hydras could be heard. They would be a later problem.
The place erupted into a firestorm. Several of the technobeasts swarmed forward straight for Tempest as he drew one side of his blade and sliced open the first few. At an opening, he hurled his lightsaber straight up and launched two Force blasts that scattered the approaching technobeasts. As the saber descended, Tempest backflip-kicked the blade into the nearest technobeast, and supercharged it with Force lightning, pulling out his blade as he simultaneously Force pushed his makeshift lightning grenade into the nearest wave of mynocks. Brandishing the other end now, he leapt back to his troops and began deflecting projectile shots. He had to preserve as much cannon fodder as possible for suppressive fire.

Romulus quickly spun to face the door, as his Droptroopers were pulled back by Tempest. Igniting his twin blue lightsabers in unison, Romulus swung his blades in the air, cutting off the 2 heads of a mutated Mynock. Romulus, sensing a huge wave of enemies approaching, yelled out an order to his Droptroopers.
Thunders, DROP 'EM!
And the next moment, the place erupted into a firestorm. Both Rom's and Tempest's troopers were unleashing plasmic hell onto the unhuman swarm which was crashing towards them. The giant Mynocks were horrendous, and the Technobeasts came in all sorts of perverse shapes and designs, some with acid-spitters and crude blades, others with nothing but claws and more claws.
Romulus spun into the swarm, his Force weapon covering his entire body, and began systematically cutting into his enemies. 1, 2, 3. His blue blades danced around one another in an elegant display of swordsmanship. A Mynock with way too many tentacles reached down to grab Romulus from above, but Romulus simply sent a Spear of Midnight Black deep into it's chest. Another Mynock, with a face which looked like it'd been turned inside-out, spat hot acid towards Romulus. The searing liquid hit his shoulder, but it ate into nothing more but outer fabric. Romulus stabbed his blue saber into it's face, and force-pushed it's body back into the swarm, sending it's leaking acid all over the other hellish creatures.
Romulus could hear Thunder 5 spouting as much curses as he could in his native language above the whirring of his chaingun. From the corner of his eye, Rom saw Thunder 1 drive his vibroblade deep into the chest of a 4-armed technobeast, before blasting it's face out with a modified commando blaster pistol. To his left, Thunder 2 was doing acrobatics around the swarm, similar to what Romulus had been doing, but instead of lightsabers her hands gripped repeating-blaster pistols, and her finger moved so fast on the trigger it was a blur.

Tempest's doublesaber whirled into a Förräderi Death Weave and flowered through an intricate series of systemic angles that caught every bolt within a metre-wide radius of him. Until one of those Technobeasts that had assassin acrobatics began dodging everything, letting the deflected shots hit everything behind him. This one Tempest would have to take care of personally. Deactivating his blade and letting his troopers hose down more intensive fire, his hands began glowing a pale blue as he lashed out a Force-sped snap kick, followed through with a backflip kick that popped the beast up. As he landed, he furiously kicked up his dazed opponent, and at the right height, discharged the blue Force blasts in his hand, rocketing the thing right into a fresh batch rending through the now-smoldering door.
A mynock that looked like a succubus mashed with Aqualish breakfast charged Tempest, launching what looked like sticky gorgodon spit. Tempest somersaulted out of the way, towards what looked like a mini-sarlaac contraption. Stopping short, he flipped over the thing as it lashed out at him. From the back, he drove a reverse stab through the thing and hurled it at the succubus mynock. The Aqualish tendrils glowed as it expectorated some plasma spit thing that disintegrated the incoming projectile.
Well, that was interesting. As the thing launched another plasma, Tempest blocked it with his own plasma blade. As the spit vaporised on the blade, it made a disgusting sizzling noise. He ran toward the creature again , dodging and blocking more of its molten bile. A slash-block made quick work of another of the intecepting sarlaac things as he slid under the last stream of plasma vomit and plunged the other end of the blade into the bioplasmic sac containing the plasma. Force-pushing the creature away as it exploded, he shielded himself from the radial residue.
Troopers, the mynock achilles heel is helium. If you have any helium grenades, now would be a great time to use them.
Kaz, we need an airdrop to that rooftop for helium grenades. Where's my bloody tailring when I need it...
Tempest turned to Romulus.
We need Lord Angel. He may know more about resealing the arcane spell that keeps the creatures in check. Would you mind fending off the rest of the waves while I try establishing comms?

Do it, we'll hold the fort.
Romulus whirled his blue sabers in the air and brought them down into the head and neck of a sithspawn, decapitating it.
THUNDERS!! Establish a perimeter! Hold the line till Angel gets here!
The Thunders quickly formed a line and spread themselves out evenly across the hall. Romulus quickly assumed the point-man position.

Tempest broke away from the frontline and was covered by suppressive fire from his troopers that cornered the beasts away from him and prevented flanking maneuvers. He erected a small Force barrier for minimal protection against stray shots, then reached into his comlink.
Lord Angel, do you copy?
Having trouble down there?
Yes, what is your present location?
Low orbit. I sensed it a while before you contacted. Sitrep?
An entire army of Sithspawn are overrunning our position from the underground caverns. It seems some sorcery barrier that held them in place has finally worn down over time. I tamed one acklay, but I don't know how much longer we can hold out.
We need Requiem and Mentis to join us. If we are to restore that barrier, we'll need more than one to siphon the energy, lest it kill in the case of a single individual. I am on my way down to collect my necessary data. Then you will need to get back to the Academy and tell them to go in your stead. We'll have to hold out until they arrive.
Angel reached out to Firestorm, up in orbit and requested a K-Wing squadron accompaniment.
I will be landing on the ground shortly. Send me your coordinates and I will rendezvous with you. I also have a K-Wing en route with sufficient power to take you back to Iridonia. You tell Mentis and Requiem to get their asses over here, and you stay back at the Academy.
But the acklay –
I will take care of the acklay and bring it back to your dorm, if it means that much to you. No more.
Yes, Master.
With that, Tempest broke off connection and fled upstairs to fetch the airdrop of helium grenades to take care of the mynock problem. But not before he updated Romulus.
Lord Angel is on his way. He will be arriving very shortly. I'll be on my way up to our drop point to collect the helium grenades we need to take care of these mynocks.

Angel's craft and his K-Wing escorts whistled as they cut through the wind like ice daggers as it approached the bastion. From his meditative stance, he told Geenine to find the suitable landing spot and join him . His eyes snapped open, glowing with power amplified by the power of the darkside manifest on the planet, as the ground below him gave way to the frigid atmosphere below. He plummeted down in a controlled skydive, right onto the swathe of advancing creatures. Mighty shockwaves of Force Maelstrom buffeted his landing as Sithspawn left and right flew, blasted into pieces by raw kinetic power. Upon landing, he spun and launched right into several omnidirectional Force Waves, though not of destructive power, as the momentum of the attacks spun him around as he leapt and with a massive shout of the Force, finished the combo with a Super Force Repulse that knocked the creatures high and far over the gates into the oncoming avalanche started in the wake of Angel's arrival.
He turned toward the entrance and brandished one end of a silver doublesaber and a single indigo dual-phase blade at regular length. Rallied by their commander's arrival and restocked with ammunition, the tanks advanced forward as the troopers charged the entrance, pushing the creatures back with unbridled ferocity that resembled more of what they were like when training in Wortan, rather than the retreating that Angel noticed before his arrival. With the melee guardsmen at the lead to cut their way through, wave after wave of troops poured into the entrance that once poured out Sithspawn. They were taking back ground.
Angel walked back to his commander and inquired of the position of his apprentice.
Where is Tempest and Romulus?
Commander Kaz pointed up to the broken spire of the highest citadel tower with a ship that just took off as it approached it.
Up there, sir. We just sent in an airdrop for helium grenades, as they're having trouble with mutant mynocks.
Behind him, the acklay sputtered its trademark hiss-cry.
It seems Tempest is getting better at Beast Control. Excellent specimen., Angel thought as he took several steps and propelled himself into the air and extended his wings, flying up to the ship and hitching a ride.
Back inside, Tempest took one squad of troopers with him to guard the rear staircase as he Force jumped several storeys back to the rooftop, where his master was there waiting for him, along with Romulus' troopers that had secured the area.
Master, that was... fast.
You should've come to expect that from me. Indeed this is an impressive place which I am most pleased in, if not for the trash that came with the treasure. Now brief me more on what the frak is going on.
In synopsis, Tempest summarised what he had told Romulus earlier.
Okay. We'll all fight our way down to rendezvous the rest of the forces on the first floor. That way, we get rid of all the vermin on any floors, and you can take the waiting K-Wing back to the Academy to bring Requiem and Mentis. Take the helium grenades down now.
My Lord.
Tempest bowed, took the package that arrived from the airdrop and raced down. Angel followed suit, albeit at his regular walking pace. He descended in a dignified Force-glide, making sure he took the time out before battle to absorb and call all dark power within the walls of the sanctuary to augment his own ability. By the nexus of darkside energy on this planet, it seems he has vast resources to tap into. Indeed, he'll be most pleased with the occupation of the planet once its resident parasites were removed.

Romulus, on his part, was keeping the party in control. He had withdrawn his twin blue sabers, and was now instead relying on his mastery of Force Lightning to keep the Sithspawn at bay. He weaved himself through his Droptroopers, zapping monstrous forms with white-hot electrical death.
It was in times like these that Romulus was glad he had learn how to mold 'lightning constructs', which is essentially shapes made out of pure electricity. His most favored was the knife, in which Romulus could fashion in an instant, and release it in the next. Lightning traveled fast, and therefore the lightning knives were of no exception.
Thunder 5 was in the middle of re-aiming his chaingun on a new wave of enemies, when suddenly a bright blue piece of light was sticking out of their heads. Thunder 5, however, merely grunted in disdain and turned to find more cannon fodder.
