"They're called Jekk. All kinds of sentients and critters taken and twisted by Sith alchemy. My old boss was trying to find a way to create the perfect soldier, and if you think a controlled hive-mind of vicious creatures is perfect, well, he succeeded." She paused, casting a glance at Kol as more sounds of violence erupted from the alley beyond. This was fast turning into someplace she had no desire to be. "They're bad news, and they've been dogging me for years on Galen's command." Mal pulled on a lopsided smile. "Don't blame him for being worried. I took all his research and ran. Wouldn't want that shit floating around in the open either. Haven't seen a Jekk in about a month. Probably a bad thing. ANYWAY. Nothing you need to worry about, mister....whatever your name is." Okay, time to shut up, Malora. Let's not give away all our candy for free... She shifted a little, coming to stand between Kol and Aajax. Aajax holstered his slugthrower and reached back, fastening his roundshield back into place over his shoulders next to his Falchon. It was clear that he would have no stake in the bounty for the girl, there were far too many people interested. What was more, he could sense no real danger from the two before him. They were no threat to his purpose, or his person."Jekk huh?" He spoke softly, removing his helm with a soft "hiss" as it broke the seal."The name is Aajax, though most don't call me that." His eyes seemed distant as thoughts of his not-too-distant past crept through his mind. It wasn't that long ago that everyone called him "Lord Inquisitor"A sly smile played at the corner of his mouth "But, I think you two meet the requirements for the exception." He turned, facing the pair head-on "I need you to tell me something. These, Jekk... were the once human?"

The girl had spoken. She had picked Andor.
"The girl has made her decision. If you don't mind, I'll escort her to my ship now." He stated matter-of-factly.
He looked at Valerie, "You made a smart decision, Young One. Let's get out of this alley."
With the girl holding onto his cloak, Andor took a step back (towards Gavin's illusion) which then spoke up and told Andor he had the Sith Lord's back.*
*Andor nodded his head, acknowledging and thanking the Jedi as Na'an began a monolouge.*
*In a change of events, her and her droid companion suddenly jumped into action, their attention (and gunfire) drawn to a bounty hunter taking residence on the roof above them.*
*He heard yet another crash as Kent dove for cover, aiming her blaster at a nearby fire escape, bringing it crashing down overhead.
His mind drew on the darkish, letting the tension of the scenario, Valerie's fear, and his own fear for that matter, give him power as his pace quickened towards the exit of the alley.*
*The direction he took put him further away from Kent, Na'an and the Doctor, and the Republic soldier (as well as the Mando and bounty hunter on the roof) and put him closer to Gavin and Anven (Sorry if I'm leaving someone out!) As he backed away, he took extra caution to put himself between Valerie and his adversaries, his lightsaber still held before him.
"Let the Force guide you," His mind touched Valerie's, "If someone comes at you, let your fear and anger fuel your movement. Your emotions make you stronger."

Jekk, eh? This conversation was getting more interesting by the minute. He'd heard the name before, whispered from ear to ear along his various information networks before finally reaching him a mere handful of times. Most of the people he'd heard mention them called them a myth, horribly disfigured creatures born out of the ire of a vengeful god, children taken from their beds by some malevolent force that would then turn them against the families they once held dear... One tale even said they were the souls of those who died in space, returned to the planet of their origin in some hideous form to wreak terror and havoc. Most of it was utter nonsense, but this woman seemed to have a personal knowledge of the creatures. He briefly considered reaching into her mind and simply taking the information, but in light of their amiable relationship thus far and her current willingness to divulge said information he opted instead to simply wait and listen.

The fire escape crashes down over them. Effectively putting a roof over them. There was still and opening at the front and back of the alley, but anyone that wanted to join this party would have to come from either of those spots. She still hadn't decides if it was time to leave this rendezvous but it was close. She began to plan her exit.

Cuyan was disappointed, but nodded. She had chosen her path, and he would not break his oath by trying to force her down another. He saved an image of the sith she was with into his permanent databank, then spoke. "Well then force witch. She has made her choice, and I shall not break my oath. Enjoy your slave dark one, but be aware that I will remember you. Valerie, I hope you know what path you've chosen."
Cuyan held his arm out and fired his whipcord and grapple, moving to a higher location and calling his speeder bike. He felt bad for the poor girl, but her choice was her choice.

He wouldn't attack just yet. There was still no telling who was lying in wait for them. No doubt if either of them wanted, they could handle a group well enough, but with the girl, it did tend to hold one back.
The illusion looked out to where Kent was taking a moment to look hr over. For a moment, he wondered if Andor had Valerie or not, but if it hadn't been for him watching earlier, he might be hard pressed to tell them apart. He gave her a soft smile and a nod. Without warning, the illusion spun the long way around before throwing out his hand towards Ambuscade, four throwing knives flying straight for him. Being illusion they passed right through, though the angle might have made it look like they went through the openings in it. Nothing more then to add to the confusion before it would fade and Gavin would continue on.*

He turned, facing the pair head-on "I need you to tell me something. These, Jekk... were the once human?" "Aajax, cool. I'm Malora, this is Kol, and a good portion of them were human, yeah." Mal caught the momentary ruminating look on his face. She wondered what most people called him, then, if not his name. But, questions for another time. Narrowing her eyes just the slightest, Malora cocked her head a bit, arms crossed over her chest. "Galen found out humans didn't make the best Jekk, though. Too…strong-willed. After a few years, they started resisting control, eventually breaking away from the hive mind and going nuts." Mal shrugged a little. "That's when he started using aliens. Lasted longer. The critters, too. But there are still human Jekk in the hordes, and last I heard, he's still using humans for experimentations. Nabbed one of my crew, in fact. Not too sure what he turned him into, but I'm on my way to find out—"
There was a huge ruckus from the alley. Malora jumped a little, whirling back around to stick her head into the alley just in time to see the fire escape become a roof over the group. "What the hell is going on over there? Shit's fallin' down everywhere. Looks like there's more than one wizard, too, but I can't make much of it out clearly. Kol, you see anything?…" She kept her eyes on the alley, but tossed her words over her shoulder at Aajax. "Why so interested in all of this, anyway, Aajax? Why do human Jekk matter?"

See? No. Well, yes, but there were better ways to obtain more accurate information than relying on the eyes. He could see the commotion well enough, but it was still a commotion even to him. What they needed was the perspective of someone closer to the action, someone like the doctor with the slugthrower who seemed to have no connection with the force, and therefore no way to detect a little mental perusal in the name of information gathering. "Give me a moment." He reached out then, thought covering distance in an instant as he looked into the other man's mind. What he found initially was not surprising, thanks to the violent altrecation the man was currently apart of, but the walls he encountered seemed far stronger than a human with no potential in the force should be capable of mustering. They weren't just layers of static thoughts, either. This man had been trained to outright block his mind from the intrusion of others. Very interesting.

*Between all the drama and BS Ronin didn't know what was going on. One moment they had a stand off, shots fired next at the sith, and just like that they had pretty much let the sith just walk away now turning on a random guy above them. It was like taking kids with ADD to a zoo. That's when he felt a presence touch him, and Ronin didn't like to be touched. Ronin pushed back at the presence, and began looking around for his mental groper. This was a good enough excuse to leave this God forsaken alley. There was nothing more he'd like to do than to seperate some heads from their owners.*
"Play nice," Ronin had to keep reminding himself

Kol's eyebrows rose when he felt the nudge pushing back at his attempted intrusion, then a small smile formed on his lips. It seemed there was more to this doctor than met the eye, or rather the mind. Whether he continued hiding his force ability or not, Kol now knew the truth about the man. It would also be immensely difficult, if not impossible, to continue hiding his potential while actively engaged in a psychic duel of sorts, which meant that if they didn't already, the others in the alley would soon know of the man's deception. His surprise would be ruined, and his advantage against them lost. Kol brushed the psychic push aside, deflecting it as a grown man might redirect the punch of a child. Clearly, the doctor wasn't trying very hard. I'm afraid you'll have to do much, much better than that. The words would be projected directly at his mind, and "audible" only to him, but Kol had a suspicion that they would be heard despite the wall he had put up around his mind.

The pair had rushed past him. In that moment, he had stretched out his senses towards the two of them, only to find..
Oh. Right. There WAS one of those running around. He had encountered his sister's imitation droid before on Yavin, back right after he ..
Wait...
Nanii?!?!
That was the droid's selected companion, if his memory served right. And the girl that the droid had been with.. Well, she certainly looked the part. Minus an eye, from what he had seen as he turned and they ran past. He almost laughed. The paths that must have led to this moment were difficult to imagine, but still they were there, and here he was in the same place as Vidalu Na'an once again. He didn't wait too long before starting after them, opting to take a different approach. Gathering the Force around him, he leaped up to the nearest rooftop, and almost immediately spied another figure jumping down from a higher roof to the same one he had landed on. Luckily, the building had a stairwell leading to the top, and Cao was able to duck around the corner of that before the armoured man had a chance to spot him. He didn't know why he had chosen to hide, but something about the man..
The moment seemed to pause as he felt a massive buildup of power in the alley on the other side of his chosen hiding spot, followed by a literal explosion of fear whose psychic impact tore through Cao like a flechette gun through flimsiplast. He fell down to his hands and knees, his wide-open senses reeling from the sensation..
The darkness in his mind roiled, swirling around in anger as it reached out through his mind to target the epicenter of the explosion, just to ascertain its nature.. and recoiled when it saw that it was just a mere child.
Weak! Get on your feet, Cao!
Before he even knew it, he was pushing himself back up onto his feet, turning and focusing all his senses on the alleyway. He heard the offer of a choice, and from the reactions, he knew what the girl had chosen. He sighed as the darkness chuckled, but a decision was a decision and one's will was always one's own. And then he heard a voice, that voice so much like his sister's, and it seemed that the bounty hunter watching over everything did as well. The man leapt into a backflip as soon as a volley of blaster cannon fire struck the edge of the rooftop, and it was just as well: another volley followed, from a different angle, and there was a screech of tearing metal, and at almost the same moment there was a small flock of throwing knives.
It seemed that this man was an enemy of a lot of people down in that alley. And if his sister's voice.. if that droid had been the one to start shooting..
Cao never doubted his sister's judgment -- or that of her creations -- on friends and enemies.
The man was about to land on his hands -- the grenade he had been carrying, as well as the repeater, were both discarded on the rooftop where he had dropped them in his effort to get away -- when Cao stepped around the corner, his left hand reaching for his belt while his right hand was already outstretched. He didn't speak a word, simply narrowed his mismatched eyes as he Pushed the hunter with the Force. It caught him square in the chest on his landing, ruining his momentum and sending him reeling. As the bounty hunter was hit, Cao's fingers curled around the hilt of his lightwhip and snapped it off his belt, reaching into the Force and uncurling the weapon's cord. It was his favourite weapon to use: he was so intimately familiar with its design and its own unique Force signature, he could effortlessly control the tendril of energy with the Force and manipulate it how he chose. So when he swung it outwards, the cord was moving with more momentum than it would have had normally. The violet energy stream rocketed down the length of the cord as it snapped forward towards the man..

They were actually respecting her decision. That came as a bit of a surprise.. She had expected at least someone to try and change her mind for her. At least they were keeping their word. The cloaked man was already giving her advice, and he seemed to be being backed by another man in a trenchcoat.
And then things started getting loud again, and she looked up to see the flash of silver and blue that she had come to associate with the man who had had it out for her. This time, she didn't even bother trying to hold back her fear, opting to let the power build up instead, and that it did, waiting for a trigger to release..
================
Generally, if someone is trying to get the jump on someone else, it is a wise idea not to shout something along the lines of "I see him!" or "There he is!" Statements like that, when not simultaneously accompanied by action, do nothing more than alert the "he" that you see to your observations and intentions. So it was that Ambuscade had a split second of warning, and he did not intend on letting that go to waste. He launched himself backwards, dropping the grenade and repeater in his hands -- he could retrieve them later, and he had plenty of other armaments on his person that weren't worth dying over -- and managed to narrowly dodge the multiple blasts and volleys and flurries and every other word for a swarm of shots coming his way. This had complicated things, but it was still manageable. He spread his fingers to come down on his hands, the world briefly upside down..
..and an upside down Jedi walked out from around an upside down stairwell with his hand outstretched, and Ambuscade cursed. There was nothing he could do as the telekinetic blast hit him dead center in his chest, sending him sprawling backwards, his legs flipping back down so he was almost flying headfirst back towards the alleyway.
Well. Other than the fact that there was now a kriffing Jedi behind him, too, that suited the bounty hunter just fine. His jetpack was a simple blink away, and it roared into life, evening out his position and steadying his trajectory over the alleyway.
And then it was sputtering, and he could feel his flight pattern start to derail. Turning his head as he began a steady, chaotic descent to the rooftops on the other side of the alley, he saw the Jedi holding an odd weapon, like a lightsaber but a whip, its violet tip having just severed the bottom part of his jetpack..
"Kriffing DAMMIT!" he screamed, managing to get a grip on one of the sidearms on his belt before crashing into the opposite rooftop..

Kent looked at Val like a big sister would. Nothing manipulative behind it, just concern. The threat from above had flown wildly off course, and the collapsed fire escape providing more than enough cover. But more and more people were joining this party. The Dr. looked distracted. The only two that looked like there were aware of what was going on was the woman and the Shadowy guy Val was drawn too for some reason. See what happens when you invite the galaxy to your problems? The galaxy shows up and all hell breaks loose sister. Now you are jumping for the first hand that says he can save you? Girl, hopefully you will get the chance to learn to think before you act.

Na'an blinked, and the world had promptly gone to hell. Between the rubble and the sight of the bounty hunter Leigh's cannon had helped launch into view, everyone in the alley had scattered. The Sith was on his way down the other end of the alley with the girl, while the others seemed to have disappeared entirely the minute the explosion went off.
Good. That cleared the way for more creative moves. She shouldered the rifle, and pounded back down the alley towards Leigh.
"We have a contact in the Corellian Sector," the droid said at her approach, dropping the artificial boosters to her voice.
"Good. Put out an APB, I'm going up." Without another word, Na'an reached town with her free hand, wrenching Leigh's body down towards her and clambering onto her shoulder. Leigh sighed, and had her hologram been on her eyes would have rolled.
"Really?" she protested, already revving the gears in her shoulder and pushing her other arm under Na'an's behind. This move was effective, but the aftermath was always...annoying.
Na'an grinned fiercely in response, pulling the black patch of fabric off her left eye to reveal a closed, ravaged lid. She cocked the rifle again, and huddled tight against Leigh's tensing arm. "You know you love it. Hold my patch."
"...Okay, fine. Firing in three...two..."
The motors in Leigh's arm tightened painfully, squealing in protest against being held in place. In the robotic equivalent of a wince, Leigh calculated the amount of miniscule damage the tension was causing in her arm...but it was the fastest way to get up to where the bounty hunter was. And it would give her time to get the alert out about the Sith and his new friend...
"One."
Leigh released her arm. Na'an whooped as the tension flung her up high in an improvised catapult, curling her legs up under her and reaching to grab for the rooftop edge. She vualted up onto the roof, rolling to absorb the momentum, and pushing to her knees to shake the shock of the impact from her hands. Returning to her feet, she allowed herself a smirk, then her grey eye focused again on the target above.
Which...wasn't alone. Apparently, the drunk they had passed on the way here was more than a drunk; his cloak billowed behind him as he thundered his way through the air and the Force. The guy was powerful, and even stranger, he was familiar. She'd seen that style before, following a push at the plummeting bounty hunter with a lash of a lightwhip...
"Lightwhip," Na'an found herself saying, more than a little surprised. "What the...?"
There was no time. She'd be able to talk to this 'drunk' once the bounty hunter was handled. She took a knee, shouldering her rifle and sniping several shots at the rapidly moving target. Her ruined eye remained closed--no point using that unless the target made it necessary.
***
Below, Leigh scanned the area, attempting to map a course from the ground to the rooftops that would be able to handle her bulk. The rails from the fire escape were flimsy, and there were no other courses--she couldn't simply parkour her way through a space like her human friend could. However, she was able to do some things better. As she turned back towards the open street and headed for the nearest cover, she opened up a comlink to the ally that had contacted her only moments before.
Adelle, we need you to keep watch for two people exiting the Refugee Sector. One male in his forties, Sith in nature, and a female, approximately 15. They are together consensually, but they should not be allowed to leave without clarification. Copy.

Aajax swore softly under his breath at the confirmation of human mutations.
You mustn't misunderstand, Aajax didn't care that innocent human lives had been ended abruptly and most likely, in a violent manner. In fact, he had sent many innocents into the depths of Chaos himself. Usually with a grim smile on his face. The thing which made him sick to his stomach was the fact that there were such abominations that existed. Their insistence at simply being was an affront to the purity of the Human species.
Aajax spat as the flurry of activity across the road became a cacophony that signaled true combat.
"I can not suffer such abominations to exist in this galaxy." he growled, his thick coruscanti accent punctuating the word "abominations" with a true disgust that was more than evident on his face and in his tone.
"Will finding your crewmmate lead you to the Heretic? The one you called 'Galen'?"
The look in his eyes, should one take the time to look, would betray murderous intent. It wouldn't take more than a second for anyone to make the connection that Aajax fully intended to find and exterminate each and every mutant human, and to do the same to their creator with extreme prejudice. Even the most casual observer would see that he clearly believed in his skillset enough to believe that he could singlehandedly dispose of everything he saw as a blight upon the galaxy.
It was at that exact moment that the cacophony in the adjacent alley became total chaos and Aajax jerked his head back, as to suggest that the trio find somewhere further from a battle zone to discuss things.
Occasional blaster fire is common, but a ruckus such as this, will attract the attention and measured response of the local authorities Aajax thought to himself as he began to back to the opposite end of the alley, hoping the other two would come to the same conclusion and follow his lead.

Andor felt the power building inside the little girl, waiting for release. That was good. She was drowning in her emotions, each second bringing her closer to the Darkside. He smiled.*
*Things were progressing fast and although Andor currently was not threatened, he knew that that could change at any given second. By now he and Valerie had reached the end of the alley. He deactivated his lightsaber and hung it on his belt before looking around. His eyes met with Kent's as she spoke to Valerie. Although she spoke the truth about the girl and knowing that Kent probably saw the Sith for what he was, Andor couldn't resist. Kent was smart, and Force-Sensitive. He could take the two girls and mold them into a deadly duo, wrecking havoc against the Republic.*
*The thought was intriguing, "You're more than welcome to join us, Miss," Andor invited Kent, "I sense great potential in you as well. Follow me and I can get us out of here."
Andor didn't wait for a response, he turned around and looked into the street, his eyes scanning the nearly nonexistent crowd. His eyes spotted a small speeder , only big enough for two. But should Kent come along, he was sure the two small girls could fit into one seat.*
*Over the skirmish of the battle with the bounty hunter, Andor picked up the droid's voice warning someone about him and the girl. A Sith-like male, late forties with a girl of the age of fifteen. Vague descriptions, but it would be enough to draw some attention. The Sith silently cursed the Droid and almost ripped it apart there and then, but he held back. He had more important things to do.*
*Hopping into the speeder across the street from the alley, Andor began to activate the controls, preparing to start the small vehicle for his escape.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=aHjpOzsQ9YI*Ronin's scan brought his eyes to fall upon two figures within the crowd. A fairly good looking woman (Malora) And a male (Kol). Ronin couldn't figure which one was nudging him or for what reason. Pistol still in hand he began walking towards them. Behind an explosion went of to which Ronin didn't turn to look or pay it any mind (cool guys don't look at explosions). Fighting behind him sounded as if the mob had found another target to vent their frustrations upon. * "Kiff women, nothing but trouble." *Was his passing thought as he stepped out of the alley. Stopping a few feet in front of them (6ft) he spoke up.* "Hello I'm the Doctor, can I help you today?" He wasn't so foolish, knowing the Sith's intent for the girl. It was always the same. However, he was no Jedi, and had descended into darkness himself many times. In the end, the path he walked was much different. He also knew the feeling of being on Andor's side, wishing to help and bestow great power on a young girl who was being hunted so that she would never be the hunted again.
Looking to the roof, he sensed the action growing top-side. With Ambuscade engaged, it would help with the girl's escape. In an instant, the illusion faded and Gavin opened his eyes. Andor had already passed, leaving no time to waste. Jumping from his spot, he used the Force to bounce between the walls of the alley, keeping to the shadows the best he could. Once he reached Andor, he popped himself in a fire escape above him. Focusing upon the man's mind, he spoke.*<<The one hunting her is currently engaged and distracted. He shouldn't be a problem for a bit. But we are not out of the fire yet as I'm sure you are aware.>>

So this shadow of a man wanted Kent to come along too. An interesting and almost laughable proposition. If he was serious it would take more convincing then that. A thought occurred, what if Kent was the person he really wanted? The other girl was powerful yes, but clearly untrained, Kent could feel deep down she had some untapped power as well. But Kent knew she had something the girl didn't. A mind that could overcome most any situation. If he was after Kent, what did that mean for the girl. One conclusion kept making its self known, the girl was as good as dead. To many people have died because of her already. She took off after them, ducking into a ventilation shaft last second to get to the rood tops and continue her pursuit from the high ground unseen.

"If anyone needs help, it's those folks in that alley." Kol addressed the doctor when he approached, giving him a quick once-over, after which his expression remained unimpressed. "A doctor who carries a slugthrower and would rather kill than heal. Well isn't that just a contradiction in terms." The pressure on the man's mind increased, searching for a crack in the defenses. There was always a crack in the defenses, which was why Kol preferred to actually defend himself rather than hide away in a hole of his own making. That, and you couldn't feel a thing when you had yourself closed off so tightly that you thought yourself safe. Once again, the voice sounded in his head, easily loud enough to be heard even through his mental barrier. Now run along, boy. It was forceful, almost forceful enough to be a command rather than simple communication. It would be interesting to see how the young doctor would respond to such an intrusion.
