Dang, y'all write a lot in a short time period. And here I thought the Jedi were an inactive bunch.
So, how do we know which Jedi are still active to vote on the new Council? I mean, obviously every Jedi should get a vote. I just wonder how many Jedi are actually out there.
Just a question: Is the vote for 5 members also a vote for Will's plan where Council Members are voted without concern where they are affiliated and is the vote for 7 members also a vote for Mer's plan for one member from each Praxeum/Temple and one representing the wandering Jedi? I just want everyone to be informed voters.

I believe we were just trying to get a solid idea of people's opinion towards the number side of it. As for the other bit, I'm not sure we've really set an opinion to one or the other. But if it's 5, the non affiliated would seem appropriate and for the 7, affiliated 5 plus 2 non affiliated would seem appropriate (or 6 and 1, not sure on that). That being said, yes?

Ah. Makes sense. Just thought I'd ask.
Sidenote: Eli, your signature reminds me of an idea I had a while back (not very original, and I'm certain others have had it) to form a Jedi "strike team"...I was basing it mostly on the Avengers. Your signature brought it back with another idea: Avenger signatures for the strike team members. That is all. Okay, move along. Nothing to see here.
Also, I'm still curious about how many active Jedi we have; because, to me, that will determine how much we should consolidate. Though I would like to see the Jedi everywhere we currently claim and then some, I just don't know how realistically feasible that is at the moment. I mean, 1 Jedi per world, we can do (and are doing it on Ossus quite well...ish); but it's not the best for an inclusive, vibrant IC academy/temple/praxeum. But that's just a thought. I'm not really for abandoning traditional Jedi strongholds, either...not that we need them for a "power base" or anything, more like keeping with the traditions and history already established there.

Well, the problem with being everywhere is that it spreads the group thin. I think consolidation will help to rebuild the group, as a whole, and will help to sort of develop these new relationships. I think we should try and keep however many academies we have now and see how the writing responds before we move out more. But that's just my thoughts on the matter.

Yea, i already gave my opinion. 5 seats, no affiliation.
And where did all those 'active' names come from? Half of them I have never even heard of.

Eli is me (Reverance), Raylia is Sin, Tyor is Steven Stormro, Jena and Lyssa are Honoghr Jedi, and I assume you know everyone else.

No, I agree. I am just wondering if we have enough writers to keep the academies we have active. Sure, some places will be more popular/active; but should we move Jedi off less populated planets?
current(ish) Jedi worlds: Belkadan Corellia Coruscant Felucia Honoghr Ossus Yavin
possible Jedi worlds (I'm just uncertain): Rodia Osarian
worlds with Jedi presence: Endor
I'm sure I'm missing (or adding) some, too.

i say no affiliation because, like I mentioned before, we need to widdle down the number of the jedi worlds. Centralize the Council (office hours) and also make it the main seat of learning and orders.
Hash it out OOC, and we will play it out IC.

then i will be hated.
for where my story is, monte is going to go be a hermit for some time. and because minus small rps it is Abandoned, i could play it as having a hand in the government, Bakura may soon be a jedi friendly location
that said, i still intend on being available from coruscant via holodroid if i am called

No worries. That's okay with me. Besides, it'd make sense to take both Ossus and Yavin off the list after the Mando attacks end. Those are both places that the Jedi will need to reclaim thanks to the Mando crusade. Of course, neither the fates of those two planets are yet certain nor if/how the Mando war will continue.

Count me in... Not to the council, but for support in bolstering the numbers.

Wow. I am actually being serious. You know something? Everytime I even mention a consideration to try a light sided character, you change the subject or treat like trolling. If you have a problem with me, file a complaint. If not, stay the Hell out of my way. It's not a fucking honor or privilege to be a Jedi. I'd love to see a Jedi written by you. Honestly the Shard idea intrigues me most, as it will be interesting to see how you write a droid jedi... I think the only one I've seen even attempt it is Old Man Eralam... though I haven't exactly been looking for shard characters so there may be several others I've overlooked. What style/branch of Jedi would you be writing out of curiosity? Would you be a warrior monk? a theologian? a healer? a diplomat? an illusionist? all of them at once? ... that could be interesting. Edit: Also, I'm here and active on the boards, just not a master, and in a SL on Ryloth atm. Might be put on trial by Ryloth for failing to defend it from the Exchange... that should be fun. I'd love to write with Vexxtal, but I may not survive this SL so I'm hesitant to split my timeline and start RPing elsewhere... or I could just get myself cloned at the RDMC... and legitimately be everywhere at once... hmmmm, I'll have to consider that one for awhile.

Oh ho ho. I was thinking of having this character have two skills: Force Absorption and Force Immersion. Anything else will have to be shown to her the hard way.

Yea, i already gave my opinion. 5 seats, no affiliation. And where did all those 'active' names come from? Half of them I have never even heard of. Jena Shaewe and Lyssa Ramaela are my ~Jedi Master~ alts and are primarily doctors. I have actively RPed them, as Masters since their creation(s) on 1.5, on Honoghr at the RDMC. While I can't speak for every single Master on the list so far, I can assure everyone that mine are indeed active accounts. They mostly just stick to one planet because that's where they're "employed" and it's easier for me to have them in one place.......

That makes more sense.
I see that Eli put himself as the 'leader' of the Order for now. If people are okay with that, then okay. I never really understood the use of usergroups at all.
I will also point out that Will, Dev and Aer are still active and seated members of the HC, to get back to the task.
It looks like '5' has the vote at current. Should we call it then? And it looks as if, even if it does swing 7 we won't have enough Masters to fill the seats anyhow.
Of the Masters on the list, who is willing to take the post?
-Eli Vandal -Raylia Venci -Mike Frantz -Diamonte (no) -Tyor D'nec -Aerandir Calmcacil -Devlin Dewe -Kel'Al Raganella -Zion Morviael -Will Sontir (yes) -Jena Shaewe -Lyssa Ramaela -Ael Jade -Adi (no)
Based on opinions already expressed, feel free to quote and fill in your personal responses, Masters. And of those left standing, if more then 5, everyone will vote to see who is on and who is left behind.

Sadly, I must decline. I wouldn't be able to do the role it's proper justice right now. I have a lot of loose ends to tie up.

I kinda stick to the ideas MER put forward earlier with one councilor per academy and then one or two (so there is an odd number) to rep the order in general, I think that is 5 for my vote And as to my running, I will let my colleagues if a newly minted master is worthy of a seat at the council
