Hullo. I thought I would drop by to introduce myself, seeing as you're all here to write about stories, roleplays and affairs in general that are related to the Illustrious Galactic Republic. Might I inquire as to whether you all allow or accept split timelines? Therefore allowing the same character to be in more than one place at a time? Or shall I say, separate storylines? I'm looking to introduce my character to the universe of JvS, and based on my character's background, I thought the Republic and places in the Republic would be a good place to start. That is, if you're in acceptance of my...how shall I say, application? Then again, I suppose this is dependent entirely on whether any of you would find potential for storylines with a character who is mostly an actress and a singer. If you're not comfortable responding here, you can always send me a Private Message. I check regularly. I hope to hear back soon. I'm really still just lurking until someone has something to suggest. I have a thread of my own here going as well. A good day, afternoon or evening to you all, wherever you are. Emi-Lee Wareno.

. . . Well. As long as you manage your split SLs and reconcile them some how (writing a past and future line simultaneously), but that's up to you.
but. . I don't really know what we can do with an actress at the seat of government.
I don't mind Scipio writing as the banking clan. But as far as resources are concerned, I would review the policies of the economic council of JvS before proceeding.

Actors and Actresses make perfect politicians. They have already acquired an important skill: telling people what they want to hear and being believable.

Guys, how would you feel if I set up a Charity ball, or gala on coruscant? to liven stuff up? Of course, it would be to put agents in coruscant, but it still could be fun!

Ummm, knowing you're the benefactor? kinda pervy to be honest. sure, why not? What cold possibly go wrong? Flees the universe in the hopes of avoiding the ensuing mayhem, probably unsuccessfully.

Are politics the only thing this group does? I mean, no other fields of involvement, stories, activities? I mean, like criminal activities, Jedi affairs, poverty, war, threats of war, epidemics? Across the galaxy. Doesn't multiple worlds span the Galactic Republic? And do you not have to not only discuss the matter(s), but also deal with them? Perhaps an attempt on a politician's life, or even maybe my own, and then things spin out on their own from there. To make a real-world reference, look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, who became the governor of California, or the scandal about Marilyn Monroe and John F. Kennedy. What I'm trying to ask is, is there none of the above-mentioned things happening? And if I may, I am not just an actress and a singer, or even just a weak Jedi, but I am when all is said and done, a person. And as a person, I think I am not limited to the professions I have, but it simply presents strengths and weaknesses I would have when faced with a variety of situations, the real issue now, is just what kind of activities you're having at the moment, and if you're full up on the roster. At the current moment, I'm about to make a post on Corulag, in recognition of the storyline started up by one Nase Talsey, and from what I understand of the storyline, Corulag is a Republic-controlled planet, and Nase Talsey and his cohorts are trying to incite resentment against the main body of government. As a humanitarian celebrity and activist, and as a Jedi, I'm going to be there to participate in a galactic tour. During said tour, I will be stumbling upon evidence of sinister background events, which would boil over into a hair-raising adventure, as I understand it. After which time, assuming I safely make an exit, it may be relevant for me to address a figure of authority in the Republic senate about what's going on on Corulag.

I didn't mean to be derivative of the possibilities for RP that are there, I was simply offering the most prevalent of questions with your character in relation to the grand narrative that is our organization and the story arcs thereof. I sort of just latched on to the 'mainly actress' portion of it. If you are willing to diversify, we are willing to have you. And it would lend itself nicely to that little gala that Atia suggested.
And the Corulag SL sounds fantastic and right up you allety. Had no idea you were a jedi as well; you post there yet? I really should stop posting from my phone as if responding to texts-- but if I didn't, I would never post. :-P

Most of us active right now are politicians, so Chils little obsession can be excused, this time. Seriously, I would love to work out a SL or two with you, and I don't mind waiting till the corulag SL is done, since I have a pretty full plate at the moment with the current trial and the Dressel RP.(which I need to go attend too) In short, Welcome to the GR!

Not exactly up my alley as you say, but I am certainly going to give it a shot. I have made a post there now. We shall see what happens. I am a Jedi, but certainly not the first pick of the Order for any proper assignment. My title is really just a glorification of something in me that barely exists. Emi-Lee
Criminal activities, Jedi affairs, poverty, war, threats of war, epidemics? Add in murder and blackmail, and you pretty well have my character's definition of politics.
Seriously though, we've struggled with ideas and SLs, and all of us are also involved in other worlds in individual stories (like mine and the recent battle of Ryloth, of Cihlbar's Jedi character, etc.) But as a group, we've struggled to figure out how to keep the Senate alive. Anything you can bring to the table, we would be more than welcome to have.
Atia, Admit it. You just want to get close to me.

I do have to say, even though the risks are made clear OoC, having a charity ball in Ryloth's name may help invigorate our Senatorial RP. Any credits donated would be sent as an extra benefit package to the people, letting them know that despite the tragic events that have occurred, the Republic has not forgotten about them.
Perhaps that may be a prefect ingress for myself as well, starting out as an Ambassador - then once granted inclusion after this Jedi Trial, continuing onward as a Senator of the Republic representing the sector.

Anything you can bring to the table, we would be more than welcome to have. There is much I can bring to the table, Crom'nen, in due time. In the short time that I have been here, I have seen that there is quite a fair amount of activity in virtually all fields, but if I might ask for clarification, what is the situation of the Senate? Based on your statement about keeping the Senate alive, I am assuming that it is presently in a state of decline. Is it because of a lack of interest in Star Wars politics? Or just boredom of running through the same old thing? Is there somewhere where I might be able to catch up on the current times and news? Or would I have to manually read through every players' posts on every planet? I mean, it would be helpful if I could find out what's the main cause of the problem as it were. A charity ball would be quite interesting to organize. But what would be needed to create a "fun" experience for all those who write it out, so that it would not risk becoming a run-of-the-mill event in terms of RolePlay? An assassination attempt? Rogue army? Just some madmen? Perhaps some brazen robbers? I told you Crom, I will have someone close to you. It just wont be the usual cloth wrapped psychopaths you are used to. I havent seen a fat character yet, so here comes.... erm... soon. Crime? You have me there Mrs Watson. Heh, I think I already see how this charitable event will turn out.

Nah, it will have nothing to do with crime, besides being paid by it. Its the spy expect I am trying to get a presence on Coruscant with Juvex Import Exports.

In short, we've had a lack of activity due to lack of authors. Most of us play multiple characters on multiple worlds. At current, the best SLs we have going is a trial that shall be starting as soon as I get the go from Cihlbar, where my character is putting a Jedi on trial for the devastation of my homeworld, Ryloth. It is quite controversial OOC and IC, but I think I hold a few surprises for everyone. Then we need to work on improving the ties to the Jedi, but that's a much larger issue. We also need to induct some new members, maybe pass a reparations bill for Ryloth. But with so many inactive members these days, we have had a hard time creating and sustaining. Even the most regular people (Cihlbar, Darma, and myself) have been irregular at best. In other words, (and I say this to Emi-Lee and every other person on this board) we need some new blood to spark something newer and better.
