*This area is a section of the main central building of the base. It consists of several halls, lined with rooms of varying sizes. Most of thees rooms hold a bed, table, mirror, washroom, two chairs, and a window. Several also contain a meditation mat normally placed before the window. A few rooms are larger than others, and contain more than one bed, or a large bed. Windows either view the gardens or the outside forest.*

Jair woke up with a start... It was odd, for he could not recall any dreams. But something was wrong. Very wrong. A sense of panic threatened to veil over the young knight as he scrambled out of his bed and looked about the room frantically trying to get his thoughts together.
Aria... her signature in the Force... had vanished. Jair quickly grabbed the side of his bed to keep from falling. It... it couldn't be... could it? No. He refused to believe it, but the thought terrorized his mind. He needed to know, he needed to find out what was going on. Who would know anything? Nobody had seen Aria in so long...
... Valance.
Jair briskly bolted out the door and into the halls. He had to find Valance. Valance always protected her. Surely she would be safe with him.

*Nothing. Morgan was nowhere to be found. Nor was Lokay. Michelle and Annabelle were also not here, but they were probably at lessons or training of some sort. Jake frowned, now standing in front of the door to their quarters, eyes wandering without focus as he wondered what could possibly be going on here, when a voice from behind him made him jump.* =Bix= Something wrong, Jake? *It was only now Jake realized he'd left the door open. Ignoring that, he looked up at Bix.* Oh, no sir. I mean, yes sir, I was supposed to meet Morgan in the hangar so we could go into the jungle, but I can't find her anywhere. *Bix frowned.* =Bix= And you're sure she's not anywhere in the base? *Jake nodded.* Yes sir. I looked all over, and she was supposed to meet me in the hangar, but she never showed up. *Bix's frown deepened as he reached up to stroke at the patch of beard on his chin.* =Bix= How long ago was this? *Jake looked down thoughtfully before looking back up.* About half an hour ago, sir. Er, well, no, when I left our quarters to go study, Morgan said she'd meet me in the hangar in half an hour, and I worked as fast as I could and got there on time, and I thought I did, but she wasn't there. So I waited, maybe ten or fifteen minutes, and she still didn't show up, so I went to look for her. *Bix nodded, then stepped away from the door, gesturing for Jake to follow.* =Bix= We'll check the security footage. I'm sure we can figure this out quickly. *Jake's eyes lit up as he started to follow Bix outside the quarters.* Thank you, sir! *Bix then gestured to the console on the wall beside the door.* =Bix= Don't forget to lock the door, bud. *Jake nodded, nearly having forgotten that.* Yes, sir! *Bix then turned to look down at the boy.* =Bix= Oh, and Jake? *Jake, who had reached up to lock the door, retreated his hand, turning and looking up at Bix curiously.* Yes, sir? *Bix allowed himself a brief smile, gesturing horizontally as though waving something away.* =Bix= You know you can just call me "Bix," right? *Jake grimaced, then blushed a little, smiling sheepishly.* Yes sir— Six— Bix! *Bix chuckled, then started to walk down the hall, slowly enough so that Jake could catch up when he was finished locking the door. Jake did so, then jogged to catch up with Bix, who quickened his pace to a normal walking speed as Jake fell in step beside him. Jake smiled at Bix, appreciating his kindness; he was a lot like Jake's father, but maybe that was why they were close friends. All they had to do now was get the security footage from the security center, and they could find out where Morgan was...*

*Along the way to the dormitories, Aerandir had held the weeping Morgan in one arm, while, with the other, he set about attaining three spare rooms in the guest wing, all adjacent to each other. When he settled this, he sent the information to Kory and pocketed his datapad, wrapping the now-free arm around Morgan once more. When he reached their quarters, he supplied the passcode and stepped inside. No one was home.
Turning on the light and shutting the door, Aerandir strode to the armchair, gently lowering himself into it as he cradled Morgan, resting his head against hers. For a moment he was silent, stroking Morgan's hair. Then he spoke gently.* Is there anything you need, Morgie? Food? Sleep? Would you like to get cleaned up? *Her best interests were at the forefront of his mind. He wouldn't force her to talk, giving her the opportunity to do something else that would take her mind off of whatever had happened to her. At least for the moment, then she could tell him about it when she calmed down a little. He just wanted her to feel comfortable first.*

*The whole way back to their quarters, Morgan simply clung to her father, sobbing gradually growing softer, tears still flowing but also appearing in fewer number. By the time her father had sat down in the chair with her, she was now merely occasionally hiccuping, resting her head on her father's shoulders as moist, glistening eyes studied nothing in particular. Lokay, who had been riding on her father's opposite shoulder, took a moment to inspect her, before gliding to the couch and curling up on a pillow.
For a moment, there was silence, Morgan's father content to just hold her and stroke her hair. Then he spoke, asking if she needed anything, like food, or sleep, or getting cleaned up. She sat up a bit, so that she could look into his face. Food and sleep she hadn't actually had in quite some time, true, so it would have probably been a good idea to get some of both soon. Getting cleaned up might also be nice; a hot shower sounded relaxing right now.
But more than anything, she just wanted comfort.* Just hold me, Daddy! *As she buried herself into him once more, fresh sobs escaped her throat. She needed to tell him what happened, but first she needed a little more time to let out her grief and despair. Just another minute or two.
When she finally did cry herself out—at least, for now—she was reduced to sniffles as she attempted to regain her composure. She waited for her breathing to return to normal, occasionally attempting to blink away the moisture in her eyes. Then she sat up, wiping her eyes on her arms and sniffling. She then peered into her daddy's eyes, fishing in her mind for the right words to start, then she began.* Daddy, I... I got stuck in someone's ship again, and— *That wasn't a good place to start. What if she got in trouble?! He'd warned her before about being in ships she didn't recognize, and now that she'd done it again, he might get mad at her! She quickly began to explain herself.* I didn't mean to! Lokay chased a bug in there and I was going in to get him out! But I got locked in, and I didn't get out until the ship landed in Haruun Kal... I couldn't find who owned it, so someone told me about the Jedi Temple there and how to get there. I was going there, when a big fight or something started in the streets, with guns and explosions and stuff! So I ran away into the jungle with Lokay, and I was attacked by a vine cat, which I wasn't sure if I could have stopped it or gotten away from it, but a guy saved me with his gun and told me he'd take me to the Temple... *Morgan trailed off, looking down at the chair's armrest. She didn't even want to think about Mesh for fear of bursting into tears again, but she had known she would have to eventually. She might as well get it over with and try to be strong. She looked up at her father, face a little more determined as she continued.* His name was Mesh. He was a Korunnai, one of the people who lived in the jungle. He told me about the Summertime War, between Korunnai and B-... Balawai. He called me a Balawai, until I told him I was from Felucia and was a Jedi. So he wanted to help me find it. I... *Her expression faltered, as the sadder details began to resurface.* I asked him why he was helping me. He said it was because he didn't want to be like Balawai. *She then stopped entirely for a moment, staring into her father's eyes, wondering if he understood the implication. When she spoke, it was suddenly louder, and full of despair.* They killed his family, Daddy! He was alone! *A stream of moisture trickled from both of her eyes, but she fought not to begin sobbing again. She blinked and wiped away the tears on her arm, then looked back up at her daddy and continued.* ... so he helped me, but we were attacked by an akk dog. But I made it my friend! I used the same powers I use to make friends with animals here and he became my friend! His name's Rush, and he's in the jungle right now! I'll show you him later! *It was a relief to smile, for Rush was indeed a very exciting part of the story. He was a good pet, a good partner, and had saved her life. And now he was roaming Felucia, learning about his new home, and would be her companion and protector from now on in the jungle. But unfortunately, the joy couldn't last, as the details only got more grim from there.* ... so we kept walking, and the jungle suddenly got... different. It was all blue and purply, and... evil. Someone was there, it sounded like a woman, but it was an evil voice. It talked to me, almost like the darkness did on Dagobah... It wanted to leave, it said. But I told it no. That's when it tried to kill us... *Morgan froze. This was the part she didn't like. This was the part she was trying to avoid, trying not to think about. But she couldn't keep it out of her mind. She once again threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck, tears spilling forth as she cried out.* He died, Daddy! Mesh died because he was trying to protect me! He didn't even know me and he gave his life for me! *She had no more capacity for words. She cried, loudly, like an infant. She felt so guilty for what happened to Mesh, and she truly believed it was her fault that he'd died. Wasn't it bad enough that Mesh had his family taken from him? Why did he have to die too? She wished she'd never gotten on that ship, she wished she'd have done the smart thing and looked or waited for the owners first so they wouldn't have left with her on board. Then Mesh would still be alive.
The Force could be so cruel to people sometimes.*

*His asking what she needed was met by a brief moment where she simply looked at him, then gave her answer: "Just hold me, Daddy!" And his heart almost broke for her as she again buried herself into him and wept further. His arms curled around her, holding her close and tight as he rested his chin on her shoulder, rocking her back and forth. What happened to his beloved daughter? What had put her in such a distressful mood that she was crying this much? She had gotten upset before, but nothing at all like this.
But he let her cry. She needed to. When at last she settled enough to sit up and speak to him, she began to tell her story. Starting with her getting stuck in someone's ship again. Well, of course that was a bad decision, one she quickly explained away as her chasing Lokay. That was fine, she was just looking after her pet, though she could have also made sure no one was around first so that they wouldn't have taken off with her aboard.
That could come later. She continued her story, explaining she'd ended up on Haruun Kal. Aerandir knew that place. There was a small Jedi faction there, which Morgan mentioned and had made her goal apparently. Smart girl. But she'd been waylaid by a fight in the streets? Not good. And he really wished she hadn't fled to the jungle. Haruun Kal's jungle was dangerous, perhaps even more so than Felucia's if just because of the various bacteria in the air that harmed metal and skin. She could have laid low elsewhere until it passed.
And then she proved just how dangerous the jungle had been, as she revealed she was almost immediately attacked by a vine cat, and was saved by a Korun named Mesh. She seemed to hesitate when she spoke of him, which made Aerandir curious. Was he the cause of her distress? There was something about him that was making her hesitant, but she only spoke of how he'd taught her about the Korunnai, Balawai, and the Summertime War. She'd even asked him why he was helping her, she revealed that the Balawai had killed his family.
Judging by her sudden tears, she cared for the man. So why was she so hesitant to speak of him?
There was a brief bright spot in the story where Morgan seemed genuinely joyful and happy, even smiled: When she spoke of the akk dog she had befriended, using similar tactics to those she used on the beasts of Felucia. She'd even named it Rush and brought him with her. Well, that was certainly wonderful, and he meant that sincerely. Akk dogs were great companions, and that she'd managed to befriend one meant he could worry even less when Morgan was in the jungle. He definitely wanted to see this beast, mostly so it could get his scent. Probably would be a good idea to let it take all of Morgan's friends' and family's scents...
But the moment quickly passed. Morgan explained a strange change in the jungle, the colors becoming blue and purple, along with a dark entity that Morgan compared to the voice of the dark side from the cave on Dagobah. When she'd refused to "help" it, it tried to kill them. She was safe and well, now, and so was Lokay, and so was Rush.
... so this Mesh was the cause of her distress, but not in the way he'd expected. He'd apparently protected Morgan. With his life. It was such a distressing thing for her that she'd cried out this fact. Then again buried herself against him and cried. Powerfully.
He was surprised to find tears in his own eyes. Someone, a total stranger, had given their life to protect Morgan, his darling daughter. Without that sacrifice, she might not have even been here to tell this story. But his death had had a profound effect on her as well, and he could feel what it was: Guilt. She felt it was her fault he'd died. The poor angel. She was too young to understand the kind of sacrifice he made, and that it was no one's fault, except perhaps the beast that had tried to kill them.* Shh sh sh shh... It's okay. It's okay, baby. You're safe. I'm here. I've got you. Everything will be okay. Listen to me, angel, it's not your fault. Mesh wanted to protect you. He gave his life for you because he wanted to protect you. You couldn't have changed that. *He patted and rubbed her back as he cradled her, blinking away his own tears but not bothering to wipe them. Morgan needed both of his arms for comfort, and he wouldn't think about taking one from her even for a second.*

*Morgan didn't even bother to try to control her crying, knowing full well she must have sounded like a baby, but not caring that she did. Her daddy would never make fun of her for such a thing, and indeed he was only holding her and cradling her in his arms. So why should she care how hard she was crying if no one else was around? Besides, it was honestly helping, letting all this out while someone who loved her dearly was here to comfort her.
He gently began to shush her, telling her that it was okay, that she safe and that he had her, and that everything would be okay. She wanted to protest, that it wasn't okay, that it wasn't going to be okay, because Mesh was dead! But she also didn't want to just deny his attempts at comforting her. He wasn't finished, going on to say that it wasn't her fault, that Mesh had made the decision to take the blast for her, and that she couldn't change that.
That was where she could protest. That was where she could say he was wrong, and that she could have changed it, and why it was still her fault. Choking back sobs and trying to calm down enough to speak, she sat up again, looking into his eyes, her own moist and puffy from crying.* No, Daddy! I-if I hadn't gotten on that ship, if I never went to Haruu-uun Kal, if I d-didn't go into the jungle, M-M-Mesh wouldn't be dead! *She sniffled again, but her crying was spent. That was probably a good thing; she'd cried enough at this point, regardless of how sad this all was. So she watched him, not bothering to wipe her eyes, waiting for his response. She was guilty, and she didn't want to hide it. Couldn't he see that? Mesh's death was her fault, how could he possibly say it wasn't?*

*Morgan finally seemed to control herself and sit up so she could look at him. She looked so pitiful Aerandir immediately wanted to pull her back into a hug, but he let her say her piece. Clearly, she was not letting go of this notion that she was to blame. But why? Why would she want to be the one to blame? Did she feel that if she was the one at fault, she could somehow feel better by chastising herself? Did she not realize just how that didn't work?* Morgan, sweetheart, you could not have possibly known all of this would have happened. You stepped on that ship trying to rescue Lokay. The owners didn't know you were there and so they left. You didn't know that would happen. You just thought you would get Lokay and get out, but the ship took off while you were inside. And then, all this happened. It's not your fault. Fate works in mysterious ways. Mesh... is in a better place now. He's back with his family. You've returned, with Lokay and now a new pet akk. And you have knowledge of what this thing is. We can give that to the Jedi there, and they can hopefully prepare against this thing, or we could send aid. Not all that came from this was bad. Think of it this way: Mesh barely knew you, but he thought you were worth saving. I don't think he wanted you to sit here and mope about it. I think he wanted you to escape and live your life the way it was meant to be. *If that didn't get her to accept what had happened, he didn't know what would. He wanted her to cheer up and feel better, he wanted her to accept it wasn't her fault, that it had happened, and now it was time to move on. It was okay to grieve, but Morgan was doing more than grieving; she was outright blaming herself for his death. He just wanted her to get over that. He missed his bright, shining, happy Morgan. This disheveled, heartbroken, tortured girl in his arms was all but a stranger to him.*

*Immediately he once again began to assure her that it was beyond her control, that she didn't know any of this would happen. Well, sure, she didn't, but how did that make it not her fault? She hiccuped, considering interrupting, when he told her that Mesh was in a better place now. Was he? Maybe... maybe he was. His family had been taken, and there was nothing but war in the jungle, from what she'd inferred. He would be back with his family now... She hoped so. He deserved it.
Her daddy then continued by saying that it wasn't all bad, that she and Lokay were unharmed, that they'd brought Rush with them, and now they knew about this creature in the jungle and they could warn the people there about it. Yes. That was true. They would need to be warned. Her daddy would probably do that.
But then he made his conclusion, pointing out that even though she and Mesh hadn't known each other long, Mesh still thought she was worth sacrificing himself for. Morgan sniffled, then just stared into her father's eyes. She... hadn't thought of that. She had been so absorbed in her guilt, thinking it was just some man doing the right thing and she'd made him do it, when she hadn't. People made the conscious choice to put themselves in harm's way for another, and not all were so noble. Mesh had made that decision.
Morgan shut her eyes and bared her teeth before throwing herself against her father once more. But she didn't cry. Not anymore. Just a few tears fell from her eyes as she hugged her father. He was right. Mesh wanted her to live, not sit here and cry about it. She would see to it that his sacrifice wasn't wasted. If she was to live, it would be in his honor.* You're right, Daddy. He wanted me to live. And I'll live, for him. *Her eyes were open now, the last of her tears spilling out as she stared at the wall. Once again, he'd done it: Her daddy had delivered the words she'd needed to hear and free her from her misery. He always knew what to say. This time was no different. She squeezed him as best as she could before lifting her head, kissing him on the cheek, then sitting up so she could smile at him.* I love you, Daddy.

*Finally, he'd gotten through to her. She'd thrown herself at him, but only to hold him. She wasn't crying anymore. And then she spoke, saying he was right, and that she'd live for him. That... was beautiful. Aerandir smiled, but then Morgan, after kissing him, sat up. At last, there was the smile he'd wanted to see, that beautiful little smile that made him grin just to see it. And nearly made him cry when it was accompanied with her telling him that she loved him.* I love you too, Morgie. *He leaned forward to give her a kiss on the cheek as well, accompanied by a hug, then he smiled at her again.* Why don't you go get cleaned up, and I'll make you some food. Then you can rest a bit. Does that sound good? *He hadn't forgotten her other physical needs. He didn't know when the last time she'd eaten or slept was, and that was probably a while ago, considering all the story he'd heard regarding this. He hadn't heard how she'd gotten back to Felucia, but that could wait. He wanted to get her back into good shape, and not pester her for details. Though more details about the creature in the jungle probably would be a good idea, he could use that to send a notice to Haruun Kal...*

*After reciprocating her love, her daddy then suggested she get cleaned up while he made her something to eat, then she could sleep. She was rather hungry, come to think of it. And tired. It had been a long and stressful day. She nodded, said "okay," then slipped away to the refresher. After a long, hot, relaxing shower, she returned to the kitchen to find her daddy had fried up some bacon and eggs for her, with a little toast too. Of course, he had made extra bacon for the rest of the family when they came around, but hers was the freshest.
She ate her food, savoring the flavor and enjoying the meal as Lokay nibbled on some bacon on the side. Her father asked him how she got home, and she told him that Jake and Bix had found her while the... thing was chasing her. He asked about it, and she described it as an armored figure with an arm cannon and large, round shoulders. She also described the atmosphere. She did her best not to think of Mesh or feel scared or saddened again; she knew her father needed to know this, and so she gave him the details.
She actually felt much better, now that her belly was full of good food, she was cleaned up, and she had gotten the story of Haruun Kal off her chest and Mesh's death had a meaning to her. She hugged her daddy again, thanked him for everything, then went to her room. Removing her gear and her Felucian garb, she climbed into bed, nestling herself under the covers as Lokay curled up beside her. She stared up at the ceiling for a moment, thinking about the day and all she'd been through. It was difficult, tragic, and nearly cost her her own life, but she'd gotten out of it unscathed, and back to a home where she was loved and taken care of. She allowed herself a smile at that thought, then whispered aloud.* Thank you, Mesh. *One final, happy tear slid down her cheek, then she closed her eyes. Soon she drifted off into a deep, peaceful sleep, unplagued by dark thoughts...*

*Tom had no official authority over the base and selection of dormitories, but formally requesting a residence and having some standing with one of the base's leading figures tended to help in his favor. He was able to procure a room for Asani, not too far from Tom's own quarters, and, incidentally, Zemear's and Covi's shared quarters.* Hopefully this will be to your liking. If you need me, I'm over there. *Tom indicated his own quarters, then smiled down at Asani.* I hope you rest well.

She nods to Tom, glad that her quarters were near to his, taking a glance at the inside of her room from the entrance. "Oh, this should be fine. I used to live in a hollow tree, this is like a palace by comparison." She says with a laugh. "May you rest well also, see you in the morning!" She says happily before heading into her room. She would take some time to meditate to calm herself and clear her mind, then quickly drift off to sleep. The next morning, she is up early, and after taking some time to brush out her fur, she leaves her room and heads for the dining area for some breakfast.

*Aerandir arrived in the residential wing, leading Terra to the quarters he'd set aside for her. Inside, the setup would be somewhat basic but still have plenty of comfort, with a bed, small mat for meditation, table and chair, and fully-equipped refresher. Aerandir opened the door, then stepped aside.* Here you are. I'm not gonna abandon you quite yet; I'm here to answer any questions you need first, as well as help accommodate you. *He paused, thinking on Terra's statement in the hangar, and decided it might be a good conversation starter.* If you don't mind my asking, who is your Master?

Terra looked around the room and she dropped the bag containing her spare clothing on the bed. The room was much like her room in the Corellian academy, not much in the way of decoration, but she was fine with that. It wasn't quite as warm and humid as it had been in the hangar, but she still wanted to shed a few layers before doing much else. She turned to face Aerandir, sighing again when he asked her where her master was, and she shrugged. "Well...Serrin...er...Master Roma wanted me to do this on my own..." That was the reason she had been given, to help Terra get better at adjusting to new environments and meeting new people to help her overcome her shyness. Personally, she would have preferred to have Serrin with her, but her master was right. She needed to start learning to do these things on her own to prepare herself for Knighthood.

*Another sigh, before she revealed the identity of her Master: None other than Serrin Roma. Aerandir's eyebrows noticeably raised, impressed; Serrin Roma was a fine Jedi, one Aerandir held in high regard. If Terra was her Padawan, then Terra was one Aerandir would respect as well, not that he would treat her any more highly than anyone else just because of this fact.
Apparently, Master Roma's mission for Terra was to "do this on her own," and now that Aerandir thought about it, Terra did seem kind of shy, and she didn't seem to talk much either. Seemed Master Roma's judgment, unsurprisingly, was solid in this respect. Aerandir nodded to himself.* I understand. As Jedi, we must learn to fend for ourselves, but who am I kidding, you probably knew that already. Is there anything I can do for you right now?

Terra shrugged again, not really needing anything besides a few minutes to change into something lighter. "I think I'm OK for now." Serrin hadn't given her specific instructions for her visit to Felucia, save for to help out if needed and to try and learn a few things from the Masters. Other than that, it would be up to Terra to decide how to make use of her time.

*Aerandir nodded and gave her a slight bow before backing away from the door. He did have to wonder if Master Roma left any specific instructions for her, but whatever those were, they were likely none of his concern. At least, not yet. He offered Terra a friendly smile.* Well, then, we'll likely cross paths again soon. Hope your stay is an enjoyable and edifying one. *He then turned and departed down the halls, back to having nothing to do. Why was that such a bad thing, though? He could be using the time to relax. Which meant he would have to beat Cassie and Kayla home... Subtly his pace picked up, as he made his own quarters his next destination.*

Terra smiled and nodded. "Thanks." She closed the door after Aerandir had left and started setting up her room. Given that she had only brought her spare clothes and her lightsaber, this didn't take long at all. When she was done, her heavier cloak and tunic was exchanged for a lighter short-sleeved one, and she hung her cloak on the chair. Feeling a bit more comfortable, she secured her lightsaber to her belt and headed out of the room.

Terra had bid goodnight to Morgan before heading to her room. It had been a very fun day, but also a long one and she was tired. Still, what a day it had been. She had learned a lot, but more importantly, had made a new friend. Morgan was an extraordinary child, and Terra was glad that they had met.
She grabbed a quick shower, toweled off and didn't bother getting dressed before locking the door and climbing into bed and going to sleep.
The next morning, Terra woke, freshened up and dressed before heading out of her room. Today, she planned on finding some reading material and making good on her promise to Serrin to learn something while she was here. Might as well start with the planet itself...
