Breathing in a deep breath, Mariah turned, crimson eyes looking up over the ship. There were so many evacuees attempting to board. Mariah shifted her jaw as she narrowed her eyes. The boy was right, but there were three issues: one, there were too many people -- too many Jedi aboard that ship; two, she couldn't simply leave her own ship to be ravaged by the Felucian jungle; and three, a ship holding that many evacuees would be too big of a target should the Sith choose to lash out. She had hoped that he would have more faith in her if she approached him delicately, but it seemed that history could not be learned from so easily and the present altered so effectively...
Expelling the air from her lungs, Mariah snapped herself out of her memories. Looking down at Mark, she was thankful the hood would hide her expression from him, to hide her discontent from his questions even in such a dire time as now.
"I have a ship, one that will offer a more comfortable and safer escape."
Her hushed tones were now simmering with her impatience, her urgency with rose with every second that ticked away -- another second wasted with a bomb set to detonate. Time was running out, and how much time she had was still a haunting unknown. She turned back around and started her venture back into the Base -- away from the ship -- but stopped to offer one last bit of information to the boy.
"Mark, I promised your mother I'd train her children in her absence, but you are the weaver of your own destiny. Today, you must make a choice."
With her parting words said, Mariah departed back into the Base, her pace steady and unwavering. Either Mark would follow her and give her the chance to keep that promise, or he would board that ship and continue his training with the Jedi, the same choice as his mother all those years ago.
With a saber in hand, a young brown-haired girl practiced within the gardens of the Felucian Jedi Base. Mariah immediately recognized her; her source finally pulled through accurate information. Why her sister was here in a Jedi Base was a burning question in her mind, but she knew there must have been a reason Aria sought them out, be it out of necessity or a personal mission. Regardless of the scenario, their father had taught them a simple trick to safely pull each other away from these missions should the need ever arise.
Mariah approached Aria, and placing the hilt of her disengaged lightsaber to her neck, she held the girl hostage. "Come with me now... or you die." Little did she know of her little sister's fate, that Aria would not go easily as they had been taught.
