I was thinking that the Mando's confiscate Joshua's X-Wing on Algara II. Transport it to the fleet over Yavin with the idea that they could use it to circumvent the shield. Then when Joshua is captured he can escape and reclaim it and Plug on the way out. Kind of like when Karrde, Mara and Luke retrieve the Falcon the the Thrawn Trilogy.

Genius Idea. I wanted, actually, to talk to you about Josh's escape at some point. Had a half-idea in the months of the great crash. I'll grab you once we've got the main Siege started.

As for the communication chip, It would have been one of the ones Aya was using to co-ordinate the attack (probably something off one of the crashed deployment pods). So they can listen in to any communications that Aya uses to direct troops, but with the chaos on the ground, but Aya's limited knowledge of the area (fewer than average security systems, or at least working security systems), the effectiveness of her directions will be limited & things will be going on that she will not know about until it is over & done with.

I want to start up writing with duke again, so here is the question, its mostly to Dav and Ashrah though, but anyone wanting to pitch in, shoot.
So, the plan with duke before the "Rapture" was that he would descend to the surface with all the other escape pods and get inside the shield generators emitted shield before the it is activated.
Question: Can I start writing him as such? Will ashrah be there with him, or not? Will he bring Dukes gear? (since he has no electrical devices besides his beskargam electronics) Any other way to start so its good for everyone and anyone?

Gotcha. Just a reminder... the shuttle from which the chip came was destroyed. We will work issues out. ;-)

The shield will be up when the escape pods head down - all the pods will land outside the shield barrier, save a handful which may tragically be destroyed against the shield. 2) We're not writing anything on Yavin as having occurred post invasion yet. That will all be 'launched' simultaneously with a post on the relevant boards to "tell the story" of the Battle. 3) Gear's all good. 4) Do you want to start planning our fight, Dav versus the big lady, as a way to get your head in the game?

He's on his way down towards that section of the Station. He ought to get there no terribly long after Duke and his team has finished escaping Major whose squad had started shooting when the old site went down.

Dav, I am gonna write Inks and Ashrahs fight in JoTW, then post a link on Yavin, or copy paste the entire thing so that people can read it into the RP. I will throw some flashbacks of the fight on the Station too. I will just use NPC's that don't mean anything to make it a bit easier for me and for everyone else to follow.

I kinda wouldnt want him killed in a not as epic flashback post, if I can have my wish through... but he is yours and I will write something nasty if you really want him killed. So, I should start posting a flashback post in the yavin station? Posting the big gal burning her way to the "bridge"?

No posting yet Nandor, until we 'launch' the RP with the IC posts. You'll see why, I think, when we do it. As for the major, he IS dead - have a look on my profile! For his death, let's flashback to it, but write it as we would have, so both of us writing the flashback in turn as an RP. I'll PM you when I'm done at work about it.
Also, could someone nudge Ander and make sure he's following this?
Also also, Rob, if you want a good flashback fight on Yavin Station, Will Son'tir might be the man for you, as that's where he was at the time. In terms of our RP, I can't remember what we were going to do on the station, but I was going to write a flashback from the perspective of my Squadron captain who was pursuing you on your approach, just to give her some life. Do you want it as an RP, or shall I just do it in a one-post jobby?

Giver as a one poster no problem. I just finished the first post in the fight in the JoTW. Andi is gonna write a bit in it as well. If anyone else wants in to witness, please, be my guest. I'd like it as epic as we can make it.

I'm writing up a narration post that flows into Corr's post IC. It basically goes over what has happened, kind of builds on your introduction post, Dav, but from the Concordians point of view. I'm using the encryption of the station to bring Elly into the RP and am gonna write in Joshua's X-Wing being on the Aggressor. I have a plan for Joshua's capture and subsequent escape, three separate plans actually, all malleable and soft to allow for alteration. I need to speak to Ander about whether he still wants to be a part of that capture so I'll give him a nudge.
Another thing I want to ask you; I'll be writing the CD fleet being pretty roughly mauled. One of the Victorys will be drifting powerless around Yavin Station, taken down by the Ion Cannons. The crew will be trying to get it operational again but its feasible that as soon as it starts moving you guys would hit it again, if for no other reason than to deny the Mando's an asset. May write something along the lines of a couple of ship getting close enough, using the Station as a line of sight shield, and trying to tractor beam it to safety. We can discuss that further. I also want to write one of my Keldabes being destroyed in the fight, possible in a one-on-one with one of the Yavin Defense Fleet. Or Jedi Task Force if you like. Perhaps both ships could have gone up abruptly, all hands lost? One of the early tragedy's of the war.
Um... I'm sure there's more I've got but that's it for now.

Ok everyone… after a bit of time. the chip finally has it's story arc… and it is kinda short. Bear in mind that Monte's storyline is advance of yavin's by about 2 time skips. anyway, my intent on 1.5 did not carry through over here to 1.6 as in the time since the reboot… The Mandalorians have yet to establish a proper ooc channel for me to hack (that and Ashrah apparently has appointed a muppet as his chief strategist) kinda making the usefulness mute. so instead the chip will go out with a Bang… or at least a pop… I plan on writing out shortly the matter of trying to hack the chip so that monte can establish a link into Mando net… however something in the process will go wrong, frying the chip and making puck's sacrifice in vain. HOWEVER, during the final offensive of Yavin… the frying will serve to mess up Aya to help give an Event flag to the jedi to cue them forward.

*Flails violently as Dav nudges him awake from a deep sleep.* WHAAAATHHHHHFFKK!?!?!?
Oh, hey, sorry about that. Internet at one house, not at the other, wife and I don't have our own yet so we're stuck going back and forth. That's the problem with divorcing parents, they make everything so complicated for their returning children. Jerks.
Anywho, I'm tracking what's going on for the most part, looks like Station-activity will be foregone in favor of quick wrap-up and start of surface RP. Sounds good for me, though I have to stress a clearer tactical view of things so we don't have random forces tripping over their own c**ks. Or anyone else's for that matter.

The Mandalorian Siege of Yavin IV begins, and the Mandalorian Holy War is reignited on new JvS. First of all: The following OOC thread has been created. Can everyone make sure they have read and understood the first post before partaking in the RP. Mandalorian Siege OOC ThreadSecondly, the main IC narrative, outlining the conclusion of the battle lost to the great crash of 1.5, as agreed by the leaders of both sides of the battle, are outlined in the following post. Please also read that, firstly so everyone is following the same story, and secondly because I spent a lot of time trying to make it suitably cool and I like to think that people would enjoy it: Yavin Orbit - Mandalorian Holy War Narrative PostSome threads within the Jedi Praxeum still have current RPs unfolding on them, please let them finish before any Siege-related posts happen on those threads. I will repost the opening crawl on each thread as and when said thread is opened to the siege.

Getting this back going again so we can get things rocking forward through the rest of the Galaxy. So, to start with: YavinThe plan is this - Over the course of the next few months OOC, and also probably the same amount of time IC, Yavin IV will be under siege and blockade. That's set. Reasons being, the Mandalorians have such a large and effective blockade set up, using interdiction mines and a large fleet (Semi-closed RP protocol is applied, and Yavin's Jedi writers have agreed with the Mando writers that the Mando fleet will be a fair bit larger than fleet regs for the sake of the story), that breaking it will require a very large, and organised military deployment, requiring coordination between vast amounts of the Republic and Jedi to get it done. Frankly, Yavin IV, as a location, isn't as big a priority as the protection of civilians is right now - we can manage for a while, IC speaking, so the rest of the good guys need to concentrate on making sure other worlds aren't attacked. What will happen between now and the fall of the Siege: The Yavin Jedi will need, at some point, to start running the blockade for supplies and the like. This will begin when Ronan Starflare, plus a handful of others including Joshua Kierra-Solo and Alexis Karidian, will make the first successful blockade run, flying down to the planet on roughly day five of the siege. Before then, if anyone wants to try and make a blockade run or a strike at the Mandos and fail, you are very welcome to do so. Talk to Ander, Ashrah, Admi, and above all, Corr, to sort out something. After Ronan's successful run, then we'll definitely want some others to try to do the same to deliver us some supplies. Success of failure on these runs is up to you guys to work out - or achieve through RP - with the Mando blockaders. Also, if anyone wants to write an NPC, or an alt, as having been either on Yavin or on Yavin Station during the original attack on the planet, please definitely do! We're looking for people to write POWs on Yavin Station, and potentially people trapped inside the blockade on the planet. RP is a bit slow just now, we have a few key people who have been away for a bit, but you're welcome to sort out anything for Yavin Station, which is under Mandalorian control - though the computer is locked out, preventing them from being able to use the Station as well as they'd like. Details of most of this are on the Yavin OOC Thread. Beyond YavinNow, the wider galaxy. Mandos are, hopefully, going to be taking the fight to other Jedi, to non-Jedi forcies, to the Sith too. That's something, however, that we kind of need to get started on now. That's in the hands of Corr and Ashrah, but I have some suggestions. The following is a map of a section of the Galaxy around Mandalore. One of my pet peeves is that JvS practically never accounts for journey times and supply lines and things like that. I'd like to change that, and propose that for the duration of the Mando War, we make sure we take some account for that. So, that said, that map shows everywhere surrounding the heart of Mando space. I propose that the next step is to have the Mandos hit the Forcies on some of the worlds covered by that map - with Yavin's orbit, Mandalore, Concord Dawn, or various other Mando worlds within there used as the staging point for those attacks. Ossus is already being discussed. What else can we do? And what do we want to apply in terms of OOC Agreements and Semi-closed RP protocols? Politics within the RepublicIt's going to be a major discussion point in the senate meeting. Do we help Yavin? What do we do about the other worlds the Mandos are now poised to strike at? An important part, I think, will be the political games that are played in response to this. Let's maximise that too. What will that involve? MandaloriansWhat do the Mandalorians need next? Apart from more people getting in on this, is there anything that can be done to help the Mando worlds get some life? Gearing up? Diverting resources to the front lines? Will Ashrah and Corr and co be treated as heroes when they go back to Mandalore on a visit from Yavin? Anyone wanna write anything on this side? So, umm, yeah. That's... that. Let's discuss things.
