*Carlos could tell from Louie's face that even he was afraid of the potential consequences of incurring a crime lord's wrath. He was obviously hesitant to give any information about the crime lord. But the credits had won him over. Carlos decided to reward Louie's... bravery, if it could be called that, by giving him two credit chips this time. But Carlos still had two more credit chips. He wasn't finished yet. Leaning in close to the bartender, Carlos whispered: *
"One last question - do you know where Fa'athra or any of his contacts hang out?"
*Carlos jerked his hand slightly to remind the bartender that there were still two more credit chips that were his for the taking... if he were to offer him valuable information. To drive home the point, Carlos decided to offer a little verbal encouragement as well.*
"I'd be most grateful if you could tell me. Perhaps I'll head straight to this place next time I want to chill out."

*Ovluv started to nod when Ryker repeated the information for confirmation, but stopped at the second half. True enough, the pearls were indeed worth a "ridiculous sum of money," but the paid research, well...*"I should clarify. I am paid for my research. Apart from a few sponsored sojourns, I am not paid to do the research; I do not yet have that luxury. However, should I manage to capture a krayt and study it, that will be worth a hefty sum of credits to my sponsors, and perhaps truly escalate my status as an esteemed zoologist. If we cannot procure any pearls, then I should be able to easily pay your crew for the money the research itself would bring." *Perhaps an answer the smuggler wouldn't want to hear, so he quickly assured,* "I'm a frugal man, so I will at least be able to pay you an advanced sum, should the latter scenario come true." Ovluv must have sensed Ryker's uneasiness with the thought of the research money not being an option because shortly after he offered an up front payment. That peaked Ryker's interest even more. He stroked his beard thoughtfully for a moment."Alright.... We should be able to work something out." He stated as he typed something into his datapad again. "My crew is currently procuring some needed parts for my ship and speeder, and we should be able to leave in a few hours after a refuel and stock up on inventory." He placed the datapad back into his vest "Upfront price on my crew and ship for transport would be 10,000 credits. We can use the possibility of obtaining a pearl as leverage to bring in the extra crew that is needed." Ryker grinned "Oh, and along the way I can give you the information on my contact on Nar Shadda for your pheromones... assuming you'll still want those if we survive.

The Barkeep nervously dabbed his forehead with a bar rag. "Sum of 'em here," Louie looked around. "They's tha ones over in tha corner." He nodded to a table in the dimmy lit back where four men were, and they seemed to be listening. "I've 'eard tell'a of 'em also bein' en Jabbas' ol' place - out en tha Dune Sea. But ta tell ya tha truth, you'd have ta be in tha rong place, at tha right time ta meet eny of tha Slug's crews."

But ta tell ya tha truth, you'd have ta be in tha rong place, at tha right time ta meet eny of tha Slug's crews." *Carlos paid the sweating bartender his dues.* "Thank you. I'll see you around soon."
*Carlos took his whiskey, which he had yet to drink, and sat a table with a lone Ithorian, counting on the alien's passiveness. Surprised, the Ithorian intoned something with its four deep throats, but Carlos' eyes were on the table that Louie had pointed to in the back. The men were discussing something, making some sort of payment, then three of them walked out of the door. Carlos prepared to follow them, but noticed that the fourth thug had cast a glance in his direction. Carlos sat back in his seat and pretending to talk with the Ithorian, who was still utterly puzzled.
Every so often, Carlos looked up to see if the fourth man was still there. After a few minutes, he had suddenly disappeared. Carlos took this as a cue to begin leaving. He bade a courteous goodbye to the Ithorian, then realized that he still hadn't taken so much as a sip from the whiskey. He made his way to the bar, planning on dropping off his glass as soon as Louie turned his back. When he made it to the counter, however, he felt a rough tap on the shoulder. He turned. The fourth man from the table was behind him, with one hand on Carlos' shoulder, the other in the folds of his coat, obviously preparing to take a blaster. He spoke threateningly, baring yellow, rotten teeth.*
*Carlos maintained a calm, cool and perhaps unconcerned expression.*
"I'm trying to get a spice deal across to Fa'athra. Do you know where he is? The coordinates he sent me led to here, and, well, I can't see him anywhere."
"I already told you - I'm trying to smuggle in spice to Fa'athra's compound, and he gave me false coordinates -"
*The thug, suddenly enraged, pushed Carlos with the hand on his shoulder. As Carlos fell into the seat behind him, he immediately lashed out with a kick to the thug's face, staggering him. Predictably, the thug's other hand began to pull out a blaster. Carlos needed to act quickly now. The glass of foul whiskey was still in his hand, and still full. Carlos threw the glass in the thug's face even as the thug whipped out his blaster. The glass shattered against the thug's face, and he screamed - Carlos couldn't tell if it was because the glass had cut his face or because the whiskey was so foul, but the distraction was enough for Carlos to kick the blaster out of the thug's hand. Before the stunned ruffian could recover, Carlos followed up with a vicious blow to the face, knocking out the thug.
The eyes of everyone in the cantina were suddenly on him now. Still maintaining a cool, casual exterior, Carlos bent down, retrieved the thug's blaster, then searched the insides of his coat for any possessions. He pulled out a token and a holoprojector, with some coordinates. Then he stood back up, smiled at the patrons and Louie briefly, and nonchalantly left the cantina.*

Ryker had seemed like a swell fellow, helpful and genuinely interested in Ovluv's line of work, but just as likely they only played that up to gain one's trust, before gouging their wallets. Ovluv was prepared for any price, however, and should they claim the pearls... then his payment would be more than covered.
But 10,000 credits? That was merciful compared to what he could have been asked for, though Ovluv did his best to keep a straight face. He did, however, smile at the renewed offer for the pheromone contact.* "Of course!" *he responded, offering his hand once more.* "Then it's a deal!"

Ryker smiled as he took Ovluv's hand. "Glad to hear it!" He gave a firm handshake and released Ovluv's hand. "My crew will be arriving back to my ship to install the needed parts and load up the supplies shortly before returning here to pick me up. That should give you plenty of time to grab anything if you need it. Next stop from here is Nar Shadda." He waved the bartender over to order another drink while he waited for his crew to return.

*Ovluv nodded, briefly considering another drink before deciding he'd had enough; they were on the doorstep of a grand endeavor, and it was best if he kept his mind as intact as he could. As far as anything Ovluv needed, he stroked his upper lip contemplatively.* "Hmm... My ship isn't nearly large enough to carry the krayt... And I don't exactly have any lures suited to a krayt..." *Spreading his arms and shrugging, he concluded,* "So, I suppose I'm as ready as I'll ever be."

Ryker took a sip of his newly acquired drink. "Hmm... Well, lucky for you my ship is quite large." He set his cup down "It's an old frigate actually that I.... happen to come upon." He gave a slight smile and took another drink before gesturing towards Ovluv. "You might as well get yourself a drink or something. We're gonna be waiting a bit on my crew I'm sure."

"Oh, very good!" *Ovluv replied enthusiastically at the news that the ship was large enough to transport the krayt. Hopefully it would be a safe journey for the krayt and the crew; at the very least, once they got it to Lothal, Ovluv could quite easily store it in one of the cells there. Gears then suddenly began to turn in his mind as he stroked his small beard once more, considering how one could possibly easily carry large creatures of this sort, safely...
His mind came back to the present when Ryker suggested he take another drink. With a smile, he waved it off.* "I couldn't. I'm too excited now, I need my brain intact, or as intact as it can be." *He offered a jovial chuckle at his little joke.*

Ryker grinned at Ovluv's little joke as he nodded his understanding and raised his cup as if too toast before tipping back his head and draining the rest of the drink into his stomach. He sighed as he set the cup down.
"Very good stuff." He stated as he checked his datapad again, obviously anxious to get underway. "Soooo, we got a decent enough plan for knocking one of these Krayt's out..... and we got a large enough ship to move one to wherever you want...." He rubbed the back of his neck "What form of transport do we need to get this thing onto my ship?" In his excitement for a good payout, he hadn't thought of this little detail before.

*Ovluv's eyebrows raised. How to actually load the beast onto the ship... ?* "Good... good question..." *Ovluv mumbled as he looked first around the bar, then out a nearby window at the sandy streets. Sand, sand...* "Locals perhaps?" *he mused aloud.* "Yes... perhaps our subduing of a krayt may be enough to draw their attention and enlist their aid..."

Ryker shrugged "If you think that will work, it's is good eno..." There was the faint noise of a device vibrating in a short pattern. Ryker reached quickly into his vest and pulled out the data pad he had been anxiously checking. He smiled wide and shoved it back into his pocket.
"Alright chap!" He slapped his legs before jumping up out of the booth "We appear to be loaded up and ready for this crazy adventure." He waited for Ovluv to stand before heading towards the door. A short walk from the tavern and they would arrive at Ryker's speeder truck which would take them too the ship.

*Ovluv nodded, hoping indeed it would be enough to draw in their aid. He could hope, at least. Fortunately, now it was time for the adventure, which elicited an eager grin from Ovluv. He followed the smuggler to the door, flipping some credits to the bartender before exiting and entering the speeder truck. It would begin soon...*

Waltzing unceremoniously into the pub, near and dear to his heart. His entourage of followers swelled the establishment as guards cleared the way. People scrambled to clear a path for the monster.Set down back facing the wall in the deepest corner of the pub facing all he scanned his domain. The band kicked out a welcome home tune as all settled back to the standard orderly chaos. Kingpin is home.... Lots of rippers and roaring business, legal and illicit transpired frantically. Kingpin laughs sickeningly as his sidekick, the Kowakian monkey-lizard, Uglyas Sin, mimics after -Kongpin- "Ho ho ho...." -Uglyas Sin "Yo yo yooo...."

In all his glory Kingpit the Hutt sat in a secluded corner, his loyal, irritating Kowakian monkey lizard at his side and his entourage spread out around him. He waited calmly, as he had for many a year. This universe was not what once was he thought but he survived and indeed flourished. Empires.... They came and went but he remained feeding off the underbelly of society. The key? Information. And there he sat

And there it was.... Louies Taven.... She looked At the sign for a long second wondering how in a universe with such a high literacy rate that she noted so many grammatical errs? Tail flipping she sauntered up to the tavern. One more "Sorry, this institution is not horse friendly" or worse some hick howling "We don't serve your kind here!" and amuck I run and destroy everything and everyone in my path. Up to the door... almost there. Opened! Yes! Ok. Breath deep. Looking real calm, cool and collected, up to the bar she walked. Before she even had a chance to open her mouth the bartender, who had to be one of the hotest human beings that she'd ever seen, spoke -Hunk a Burning Flesh Barkeep- "What's your poison lady?" With an upward nod she responded -Epona- "Tatoonie sunset please." On look! Holo news. And there it ran for all to see. L ive News: The Juvex City Standoff.... Interesting.... A journalist spoke describing the footage. -Journlist- "this is live footage of the ongoing standoff between the Juvexian National Guard and the narco terrorist Grainne Mhaol and her bizarre associate Fiach Dubh." Epona now hung onto the edge of the table so tight her hands went white as the blood left them. An animated reel on the Twi'leck girls then rolled by. At one point she said aloud -Epona- "Kieran and Laoch?" There was an eerie quite about the place. Something was going on here. Or was it..... The centaur hurriedly typed out one main message to many people

Just seeing the name, as her Comm. device had visual display too, was exhilarating; At the distinct sound of Kieran's voice almost soiled the floor at her feet. But she said nothing, instead tapping out a dry, businesslike mesage. Then hit send.... She did not sit back, as the lower part of her body made that rather difficult and despite advances in furniture design that was quadrupedal friendly seating for a half horse was not high on activists list o issues to scream about.... Now we would see what happened

And The nose knowns! This was it! Gid knew it somewhere in her heart. This was it. She spoke -Gid- "Be ready girls.... Guys." And as a team they burst through the doors, not guns a blazin but ready to shoot the place up if need be. Through the eyes of Gid, the place was everything she'd have expected in a bar in a Tatoonie town. And worse. It housed the typical crew of deadbeats but seemed rather a ghost of what it once was..... Rather perfect actually. Immediately she noticed a Hutt. And his entourage of roughnecks. She eyed them over. Fast but effieciently. And there at the bar stood a four legged individual she knew. Too well. A smile crossed her face but it was Alem who spoke first -Alem- "Epona!!!" And all three Twi'lecks stampeded for the centaur
