A fierce, but short, dogfight occurred just beyond the prow of the Emperor's Wrath. The TIE/Defenders of the 181st Squadron performed their duties well in defending the intended target. Although some went down in the skirmish, it seemed the rebels changed their mind and fell back. Orders were given to not pursue, so the TIEs returned back to 'friendly' space around the advancing Resurgents. With the attack blunted, Commodore Triald began reviewing reports from the other Resurgents present.
Of the three in combat, the Omniscient Eye and his ship, the Hyperion, were taking the most damage as they were in the thickest of the fighting. Omniscient Eye reported losses on several decks, the destruction of some guns, and shielding down to sixty-seven percent and dropping. The Resistance Fleet was a ragtag organization but the ships still had teeth. The Commodore had to give them that. Reviewing the holomap of the battlefield, Triald begins issuing new orders.
=Commodore Triald= Get one of our Demolisher Squadrons equipped with anti-starfighter ordinances. We will have them run at the escaping shuttles. Continue advancing our squadrons against the enemy positions... they are keeping formation... not a sign of breakthrough yet...
The Imperial bites his thumb, knowing they had the firepower, but not the numbers. These smaller ships could swarm one of their battlecruisers and hammer it to bits if they weren't careful. These vessels weren't immortal, just extremely tough. They still had some reserves, but they were running low fast. Just as the Commodore was reviewing his plans of action, an ensign, on the sensors, spoke up.
=Ensign= Commodore! Incoming hyperspace signature!
This got Triald's attention as he, and the senior staff, looked up from the map to the ensigns.
=Commodore Triald= Is it Imperial, Ensign?
Just then, the sound of a vessel coming out of hyperspace was heard. A new Resurgent battlecruiser had parked itself just off to the left of the Emperor's Wrath. The Ensign quickly got its IFF signature and reported to the Commodore.
=Ensign= Sir! It's the Pride of Muunilinst!
The Commodore grins and slaps the console with delight. The reinforcements had arrived! That meant that the Malleus and Enduring Conviction were not far behind! There was a chance to stamp out these rebels once and for all. With the arrival of a fourth battlecruiser, Triald could go on an offensive and attempt to break the Resistance formation! He grabs a transmitter and begins relaying orders.
=Commodore Triald= Hyperion to Pride of Muunilinst, deploy your TIE-Xs and join the fight! Send a squadron of TIE/sfs to escort a Demolisher squadron to the escaping shuttle craft. All battlecruisers, maximize firepower and advance! For the Empire!
With that said, the advance resumed! Yet, despite the presence of the four battlecruisers, there were two openings for the Resistance. There was a wide enough gap between the Hyperion and the Emperor's Wrath, the new center, for ships to slip through. With the focus on the battlefield within both the Resistance formation and towards the planet, this left the Imperial's left flank rather empty and easy to get away from.

Entering the system behind the gas giant Tamarena, the New Rebel Alliance (NRA) fleet transitioned from hyperspace, streaking across the star speckled tapestry of space as it slowed to sublight speeds. Somehow despite the fact that both an MC80 Home One and Liberty type both respectfully left the Hoth system before General Endor's EF76 Nebulon B, the Mossflower was there at the tip of the spear, having arrived just a fraction of a second fast than the two larger cruisers. An angry communication from Admiral Jyn Dackbar aboard the Liberty type, Star Urchin, caused the Mossflower to fall back into preplanned formation.Inside the open hangar of the Home One type, Aura Blossom, General Endor and his squadron mates gathered around a messy table with a holographic projector in the centre. The luminous image changed every couple of seconds, showing the latest intelligence gathered on the star system, before replaying captured footage of the forced labour compound on the surface of Dantooine. Many bothans died to bring them that information. They had to make sure that sacrifice wasn't in vain. The bushy bearded rebel sipped from a cup of steaming stim-caf as he got in a last minute stimulant fix to keep him mentally sharp."What do we know?" Asked Endor, his mane of greying brown hair already looking like a greasy mess from the brief time he had spent in the cockpit. His forest green eyes flittered over the display, focusing on the blue print schematics of the TIE Whispers they were expecting. The druid put his mug down on the edge of the table before placing both hands on its surface and leaning in. Next to him, Tarfang swaggered to his side, the short greying bear's good eye just able to see over the table's detritus covered surface. Across from them, the human rebel agent known as Drenlin Vortek stared back, his usually stubble lined face thick with coarse hairs as he looked on them with eye that had drooping bags under them. He looked like he could use some sleep."The last intelligence reports we received place a lambda shuttle and a full squadron of superiority TIEs at an airstrip adjacent to the prison compound. The labour camp is surrounded on all four sides by an electrified fence of inch thick razor durawire. Nasty stuff. The anti-aircraft cannons are located on each corner of the base..."

NRA YT-2000 light freighter, the Lepota - Lounge
Emerging from hyperspace behind the gas giant Tamarena to rendezvous with the NRA fleet, the Lepota - carrying General Emrys and his strike team - maneuvers to take up its position with the fleet. Leaving Baqi'hansaka in the cockpit, Jedi Knight Benedicte Proulx heads aft and starts knocking on the doors of the crew quarters to wake those that are sleeping, checking their gear, or however else it is they spend the hyperspace travel time from Hoth to Dantooine, knocking last on General Emrys' door and telling him, "We've arrived, General," before continuing aft to the lounge to wait for the green light to begin their assault on the prison compound to disable the AA cannons.
Kaniehtiio, the team's sniper, is already in the lounge, cleaning her DL-44 with her trusty MK sniper rifle propped up beside her when Benedicte enters, and looks up from her work as she asks the Jedi, "You get any rest at all?"
Benedicte nods, seating herself on the arm of one of the couches in the lounge, "Baqi and I handled the journey in shifts.
Heini, gently setting his rucksack down on a couch before sitting beside it, yawns and starts making small talk to pass the time as they settle in to wait for the go signal, the other members of the team and Emrys trickling as the minutes tick by steadily.

Vaughan had hardly gotten any rest on the trip over, reviewing the latest reports and intel from the NRA spy-net. The news was not promising, but they were building a better picture by the hour. He was thankful for the interruption from the knock on the door. He threw his cloak over his shoulders and made his way out to the lounge, his two-handed sword well on display, whilst his pistol sat hidden on the back of his belt in a holster We'll get the go signal very soon. Stay safe out there. And no one gets left behind.

Heini gives Vaughan a thumbs up, grinning as he says, "Right on, bro'! We'll have your back too, dude. Nodding his bearded chin towards the sword on Vaughan's back, the Talus native says, Nice sword! It got a name, or story behind it?"
Dyami, his tactical field medkit slung over one shoulder, waves cheerily at everyone in the lounge as he enters and then, tossing an olive colored half-shelter cape to Benedicte, tells her, "I figured that will stand out less than your robes, Bee," then settles onto an open space on one of the couches and then unholsters his MW-20 Bryar pistol to check the double ammo cartridge in its center.
Benedicte, pulling the half-shelter cape on over her yellow and white robes, tells Dyami, "Thank you, then crinkles her nose and muses aloud, I suppose I should consider getting robes in a more subdued color sooner or later."
Dyami waves the Jedi Knight's concerns about her attire aside, telling her, "Keep the half-shelter cape, I've got a spare."
Garine, with her T-21 light repeating blaster rifle hanging from its sling in an off-side drop carry, plops onto a couch, not looking up from her datapad as she surfs the holonet and asks no one in particular, "Still waiting for the green light?"
Kaniehtiio, arms laced behind her head as she grabs a bit of shut-eye as they wait for the go signal, asks Garine with an amused grin, "What does it look like?" chuckling as the question earns her a single finger reply from their slicer.

Vaughan turned his gaze to his sword as Heini asked about it. There was a lot one could say about the blade he wielded and its past connections. A story that would take a lot longer to tell than what they would have before the assault began. For now he would settle for a more concise explanation Its name is Galatine, a storied blade in my family's mythology. Alongside Excalibur, they form the Holy Swords, a pair of blades passed down from generation to generation. Sometimes the blades would need to be reforged, but they are power artefacts. I have Galatine and... Well, I have one of them and that's the important part for now...

Heini grins as Vaughan shares a bit of Galatine's history before stopping before revealing who holds the second of the fated blades, wagging a finger at the General playfully as he says, "Always leave your audience wanting more, right bro'? You'll have to share the rest of the story when we get back."
Benedicte, waving a hand subtly to suggest that Heini not pester Vaughan too much in light of the fact Vaughan's cutting his tale short before revealing who wields the second Holy Sword could mean the tale is not a happy one, says, "I'm sure the General will share the Holy Swords' tale when he feels ready to do so, and then stands as she says, I'm going to go and help Baqi get ready for our journey to the surface," so that she can begin plotting a course to their destination that will hug the terrain's surface as close as possible to try and elude detection by enemy sensors.
"Think I have time for a quick nap?" Garine asks no one in particular, lacing her hands behind her head and closing her eyes as they continue waiting for the signal for the mission to begin to be given.

He forced a smile at Heini's comment, breaking himself out of his thoughts concerning Excalibur and the fate of the person whom held it What... heh... yeah something like that... Although they'd recovered his sister's body, Excalibur had remained missing. Undoubtedly the Imperial that had been keeping her as a slave had kept it as some sick memento. If that was the case, Vaughan fully intended to liberate the blade from the collection after liberating the life from the man. He shook his head then, clearing such thoughts away for the time being. He pushed himself up from his seat and followed after Benedicte to the cockpit Let's signal the Aura Blossom, we should get moving soon so we have some time to take the guns down before our fly boys get launched...

Baqi'hansaka roars and grumbles what one can safely assume is a greeting when Vaughan enters the cockpit, Benedicte giving the General a quieter and more easily interpreted respectful nod of her head.
"I quite agree, General Emrys, Benedicte says calmly, turning towards her boards and beginning to open a secure, encrypted comm channel to the Aura Blossom as she tells Vaughan, I shall contact the Aura at once," and then, once the comm channel has been secured, tells the Aura Blossom's comms operator, This is the NRA YT-2000 light freighter, the Lepota, reporting in. General Emrys and his strike team are awaiting the order to make for the surface and begin their operation, over.
Sitting back and turning to face Vaughan, Benedicte smiles as she says tranquilly, "It shouldn't be much longer now, General."

The blue-white blur of hyperspace receded back to a black void speckled with countless points of light around the viewport of The Halcyon as Allas sat at the controls. Like the Rebel Fleet before them, Allas had brought The Halcyon out of hyperspace on the far side of Tamarena where the outer airlocks on the cargo pods could be opened, releasing the first pair of Aethersprite's. As soon as the Nymphe and Celt cleared the hangars, the airlocks were resealed to allow the Aconite and Fireball to move into the sealed bay to prepare to launch.
As she was waiting for the chambers to pressurise again, EV-88 started protesting loudly in binary whilst bringing up a local area scan. Allas gave her Astromech companion a rueful look, quietening him before turning her focus to the display. A small fleet of classically Rebel styled ships sat in formation not far off their Y-axis seeming to sit overhead. She keyed their comms. We've got company, twelve o'clock and eighty five degrees vertical... Looks like we might not be the only ones with plans for the First Order...
Given our current situation, you're in charge. So... what do you want to do?
Forget about them, we should proceed as planned. Just ignore them and keep on going.
They'll have already picked us up on their scanners, you idiot... As the bays finished pressurising, Allas opened the internal doors and watched as the next pair of fighters moved up into position. Her attention still upon the scan display. Haley was right, with the gear that they would be packing on those ships, it would be impossible for them to not have been found. She closed the inner doors and started the depressurisation cycle. Once Chekk and Braden get clear, pull in tight. Whoever they are will have seen us. Our goals may align enough that we can use them. Got it? Several voices spoke slightly staggered as they gave their affirmatives. The outer doors opened again, allowing the Aconite and Fireball to exit and pull into formation around The Halcyon. Allas meanwhile scanned any local comm channels, looking for anything from their friends.

It's time. Croaked a wet voice in Endor's pocket, broadcast through the personal comm device he had stuffed in there. He reached up a gloved hand and retrieved the radio, holding it away from his bushy face as a look of humility consumed his bearded visage, which somehow the moist admiral on the other end already seemed to predict. Jyn Dackbar's authoritative tone guarded against all debate. It should be you, General. It will be better coming from you.He smiled sadly. She was right of course, though that didn't make it any easier. This burden was not one he had asked for, nor was it something he had ever wanted for himself. Up until a few months ago he had thought his fighting days were far behind him. If not for the encouraging words of an old friend, he might still be splitting logs and tended to the forests of one very special moon, as opposed to preparing for battle yet again. How many times had he been here before, with lives depending on the orders he gave and on the result of his actions? The weight was keenly felt. Not that he would ever complain, not even as his knees or his back creaked every time he climbed out of the cockpit. "Okay, Admiral." He said, cutting the channel and tucking the radio back into his pocket. Snapping his fingers at his surely astromech droid, he summoned R6 to his side where the droid began to take a holo-recording of the General to broadcast across the fleet. From the hangar of the Aura Blossom, a blue tinged three dimensional representation of General Endor was broadcast to every ship in the rebel fleet. The bearded former forest druid was standing in front of his X-wing with hands clasped behind his back, his flight suit swathed chest puffed out as he appeared the picture of perfect military discipline. The illusion quickly vanished as the mangy woodsmen's face split into his signature devilish grin.Pilots, engineers, spies, and soldiers. That's not what we are; its what they've forced us to become. They call us REBELS to disparage us, a term we wear with pride because we understand what it means to rebel, to take a stand against dictators and tyrants. You know why you're here, how arduous the journey has been so far, and what all of us have suffered along the way. This is where it stops. This is where the line is drawn and we tell these self elected Emperors...no more. They might have the latest toys, more advanced technology, and greater numbers. But I would take each and every one of you REBELS over an army of battle droids or clones, for when the cry of freedom sounded, you answered. Loyalty, honour, and a willing heart. I can ask no more than that. He made a clenched fist. Today we take a stand, for the right of every system to self govern, against exploitation and oppression. Today we take back our unjustly incarcerated brothers and sisters, tomorrow...we take back our homes." A poster unfurled behind the General from the nose of his X-wing, depicting the martyr Maarva Carassi Andor and the slogan of the New Rebel Alliance. Fuck the Empire! All across the fleet, the same words reverberated throughout every hull, a message keenly felt. Fuck the Empire. The next address was for the crew of the Lepota. General Emrys, your team has the go ahead to begin phase one of Operation Kath Hound. Remember, everything is riding on your successful infiltration of the facility. If your team is detected before those AA guns have been taken out, we'll have to call off the attack. Endor's Ewoks will provide a distraction by harassing the Imperial garrison at Garang, which will draw some of the troops stationed at the prison complex, but expect a significant Imperial presence. There was a pause. I'll do my best to keep Imp eyes turned elsewhere, but you'll be on your own until we can bring in our gunships. It might get hot down there...good luck.
On the bridge of the Mossflower... Steam rose off the cooling surface of rebel agent Drenlin Vortek's mug of stim-caf while he observed the bridge display, seated comfortably in the cracked leather command chair aboard the EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate, gently sipping from the piping hot beverage. An alert chime sounded from the station of the sensor operator, a bucktoothed tynnan by the name of Lieutenant Nutterbutter. The acting captain placed his drink down on the arm of his chair and waited for the bushy tailed alien to speak up."Wayfarer-class transport on the scanners, sir. Just came out of hyperspace right below us." "Give me a visual." Said Drenlin, running a hand through his greasy mop of hair before letting out a breath. Spotted already? That didn't bode well for the mission. "On the main screen."The tynnan officer tapped a series of buttons at her work station and the main view-screen at the front of the bridge changed to display a magnified view of the Halcyon, just as the first two Aethersprite launched out of its hangar."They're launching fighters!" Said the lieutenant in an alarmed voice. "Raise shields and coordinate firing solutions with the Aura Blossom and Star Urchin." He instructed, leaning forwards in his seat as he rested his stubble rimed chin on his hand, biting the ends of his fingers as he contemplated their next course of action. "Who are they and what the hell are they doing out this way? Pirates? Smugglers? That doesn't look like a First Order vessel."Across the fleet, laser cannons and turbolaser batteries began to swivel on their housings as they lined up firing arcs on the Wayfarer-class Medium Transport below them. As trio of RZ-1 A-wings screamed out of the hangar at breakneck sublight speeds, their pilots pushed forwards hard on their flight sticks as they set out on an intercept course."They've launched a second pair of fighters!" "Prepare to open fire. We'll grease them with the Taim & Baks." Hold your fire. Intruded the gargling tone of the Rebel admiral, Jyn Dackbar. Aboard the MC80 Liberty-type star cruiser, the Mon Calamari naval leader of the resistance stood at attention, her every movement captured by the bridge recorder and broadcast in a tight beam transmission to the Halcyon in the form of holographic communications. The admiral's moist brown flesh stood in stark contrast to her pearlescent white uniform and the matching white bridge behind her, crewed by other members of her species. She had her web hands clasped behind her back, bulbous eyes facing directly into the camera.Captain of the Wayfarer transport. You have twenty seconds to provide an explanation of what your doing out here, and I better like what I hear... It sounded harsh, more how one might expect to be treated by the Imperials, but it was also necessary as far as the Admiral was concerned. This unknown vessel was a clear security risk to the mission.

Targeting alerts started sounding as the trio of capital ships started to target The Halcyon, prompting a series of whistles and hoots in protest from EV-88. Allas waved the droid off as she quickly raised up the ships shields. Hold tight everyone! We might be in for a bumpy ride! The airlock doors leading to the cargo pods slammed shut in preparation, ready to jettison the excess load if needed. EV-88 meanwhile was swivelling the quad-laser cannon turret to aim up toward their aggressors, not that it would achieve much given the difference in sizes. The Aethersprites and their pilots braced themselves, each of them searching out the Force for slightly different but very related reasons. Thankfully, however, reason seemed to reign somewhere up there and a tight beam transmission was picked up. Connect us up Eevee! The image of the female Mon Calamarian appeared on the display and was also cast over to the fighters so they could hear the exchange. Allas keyed the return comm as EV-88 got the tight beam back locked in. I'd ask you the same thing... I want to say Admiral? But I think we both know neither one of us is Imperial, which right now is the most important thing... Look, you've got the bigger ships here, not much my little laser cannon or my friends can do against your shields. So maybe we don't point guns at each other and accidentally do the First Order's work for them... Our Captain is being held by them and we've come to break her out. I suspect you're not here to shake hands and be friends, so I'm sure we can work together?

In what was becoming typical of his new friends exuberant displays, the Rebel Alliance was provided its first "Saint" and a new rallying cry which was well echoed to various degrees of enthusiasm by those aboard the Lepota. Vaughan raised a fist of his own and muttered the phrase, albeit not too loudly, more as a sign of solidarity and being conscientious of those also in the cockpit. He then leaned over the controls as the message from Endor directed at the Lepota and its crew came through. Although he heard the orders, he definitely had no intention of following them completely.
Even if they were discovered before all the guns were down, he was not going to pull out. These people being held prisoner deserved freedom, and a handful of Imperials was not going to stop that. He keyed the return comm :: Copy that General Endor. Those Guns will be down before the Imperials know what hit them. But... I'll make no promises about not softening up their guards before you arrive. Lepota going dark! :: He gave a nod to Baqi, who cut off the comm link as Vaughan stumbled back into one of the other seats while Benedicte took to the controls to take the YT-2000 light freighter around the gas giant and moved to join the local traffic. When questioned they would pass themselves off as traders in the Kath Hound business. Imperial Planets, even ones as far out as this, were typically monitored pretty well, so a covert approach without specific cloaking gear would be almost impossible. Better to pass through the front door, and easier too

I suspect you're not here to shake hands and be friends, so I'm sure we can work together? While the Halcyon's arrival amidst their arranged battle formation had been a startling surprise for certain, whoever was on the other end of the channel had a point, a good one at that. In situations like these things could change fast. You had to be able to adapt lest the whole plan fall apart, which was something no one involved in the mission was prepared to countenance. They were giving this one everything they had, plus a little extra.Your captain? Replied Jyn, still uncertain what sort of character she was dealing with here. The First Order locked up a lot of people, not all of them necessarily innocent. Please don't misunderstand, that was far from a ringing endorsement from this Mon Calamari admiral, just the acknowledgment of certain realities. They didn't know these people and had no opportunity to vet them. That captain they spoke of could be the head of some pirate organization, or a spice smuggler. That wasn't an automatic disqualifier mind you. After all, they'd let Endor in and he had a seedier past than most. No, she just liked to know who she was dealing with, and right now she knew next to nothing. Listen, you're right. The last thing we're interested in is doing the First Order's work for them, so lets work together. But since I have more more ships, bigger ships at that, and already have a plan in motion...I call the shots, fair?Right then, a familiar voice intruded on the channel, just as a plume of space exhaust shunted from the curling chromium pipes jutting from the nose of Endor's T-65 X-wing. The former smugger/pirate had taken the opportunity the brief standoff provided to launch into space with the rest of Endor's Ewoks, bringing his modified snubfighter practically parallel with the Nymphe to the point where their canopy windows were almost touching. The burly bearded General could be seen waving through his own cockpit window. They're flying something real fancy. Intruded Endor. Oh, is this an open channel? I said you're flying something real fancy there, but R6 still thinks our X-wing has got you beat in the speed department. I'm of mind to agree. His temperamental astromech beeped something offensive in droid speech. Language, R6! Sorry about that, he's usually much nicer. He wasn't. Anyways, if they are sincere about helping us Admiral, let them put those fancy fighters to the test. The hologram of Jyn Dackbar appeared thoughtful as the pearlescent uniformed fish-woman rubbed her clammy chin with a webbed hand, stroking her chin whiskers. Agreed. Said Admiral Dackbar matter-of-factly. You want to help, this is how you do it. Oh, and it is Admiral. Admiral Jyn Dackbar of the New Rebel Alliance. Fall into formation with the Ewoks.Yub-nub, Admiral! Exclaimed Endor. That's the spirit. Alright newbies, the name is Endor and I only have one rule. Everybody fights, no one quits. Now fall into formation, and do me a favour.Smirk. Try to keep up.

Allas felt a little bit of the tension release as the Admiral laid out her conditions for joining the attack. It seemed they would live to fight another day Roger that, Pretty sure you have the better plan anyway. Name's Allas, pilot of The Halcyon... Haley had been watching her scanner screen the entire time, tracking the approach of the x-wing right up to her side. She gave something of a strained smile and returned the wave back to the pilot as he seemed to stumble into broadcasting on the open channel He's doing that on purpose... But although it was clearly bait, Braden was more than happy to snag the line as he opened his own comm link. A challenge was a challenge, and the Fireball would be more than up for the task Ain't no way he just called us slow...
Cool it Fireball. We'll show them how we can keep up. You heard the lady, form up! The quartet of Aethersprite's pulled away from The Halcyon and moved into position behind the squadron broadcasting their call sign as the Ednor's Ewoks. Allas worked the controls on the Wayfarer and pulled up into the formation of Rebel Capital ships. She ran through checks while EV settled the ship into a holding position. The fight would soon be upon them and Allas wasn't eager to be caught unawares and unprepared

Alright, listen up. Chimed Endor over the squadron frequency, which he was kind enough to patch the Aethersprites into, allowing them all to operate on a single channel when necessary. Now happened to be one of those times. Our target today is the squadron of TIE Whispers garrisoned at the Imperial prison complex. The closest settlement to the facility is the capital city of Garang. We'll start by making a nuisance of ourselves there, shake up the hornets nest as it were. The city has a couple of standard TIEs, nothing we can't make short work of. The real fight won't take place until those Whispers arrive. The current Imperial governor of Dantooine does not have what you'd call a bold reputation. He'll call for reinforcements at the first sign of trouble and those Whispers will come. We haven't got a look at what's under the hood yet, but you can count on those things having some teeth. No one liked walking out into the unknown, but sometimes just rewards called for a few necessary risks. If you get into a position you can't handle, pull out. You have wingmen for a reason, use them. Those enemy fighters might be made with more expensive parts, but there is more to a dogfight than a fancy fighter. That elicited a few chuckles over the channel at the new arrivals expense. Fly your hearts out and give them hell, ewoks! The response was as you might expect. Just another brick in the wall, General. Or No problem, we got this. And of course... Fuck the Empire! Placing a gloved hand on the throttle, the General and his squadron accelerated towards Dantooine. They'd timed their approach almost exactly to the second. At that exact moment, a First Order frigate would be just about reaching the far edge of the system, the furthest point on its patrol of the system from the planet of Dantooine itself. The Rebels had an open sky greet them when they hit the atmosphere.Too bad it didn't stay that way.

"It's time." Said the clammy skinned Mon Calamari Admiral, Jyn Dackbar, as she looked down at the chrono device on her wrist just above her webbed hand. Leaning forwards, she pressed a glowing yellow button on the arm of her rotating commander chair on the bridge of the MC80 Liberty cruiser Star Urchin, opening a channel to the hangar. "All gunships, launch. May the Force be with you." They hadn't heard word yet that the AA towers of the prison complex on the surface of Dantooine had been brought down yet, but they couldn't risk waiting any longer. If they were going to make their move, it had to be now. With luck, those towers would be dealt with by the time the gunships reached their target. If not, well, it was about to get dicey.Down in the hangar... All gunships, launch. May the Force be with you. A motley mix of rough looking humans and disheveled aliens in combat fatigues looked at one another from the troop bays of UT-60D U-wing starfighter/support craft gunships parked in the hangar. One after the other they banged on the cockpit doors, waking up their pilots. Rebel aces strapped in and gave the thumbs up to flight crew on the hangar deck before bringing their repulsor engines to life and lifting off the cold steel, retracting landing gear and passing through the energized barrier keeping the atmosphere in and the cold vacuum of space out. Across the fleet the same sight could be witnessed, rebel gunships streaking towards the planet, hitting the atmosphere at breakneck speeds. The calvary was on the way.

When orders to head surface side came through from the Star Urchin, Allas was less than comforted. The ground team was meant to confirm AA Tower destruction, and so far no one sounded like that news had come through. But she'd given her word to follow along with the Admiral's plan, and this was part of it. She slid back into the pilot seat whilst EV-88 plugged into the dataport and started calibrating the guns Halcyon heading ground side! The engines blared to life and pushed the Transport away from the fleet and after the gunships toward the surface of Dantooine

Continued from here. After Vaughan's quick thinking spared them from all getting blown to smithereens, Endor was mildly concerned he might have soiled his own trousers in surprise, but was relieved as he pulled his belt out and took a look down south to see that it was just blood. The medics attention had taken care of most of his nicks and cuts, but he was sorely in need of a change of clothes and a sonic shower. His right fist wrapped around a hand hold on the gunships ceiling as it accelerated out of the atmosphere, joining the dozen or so others that had taken off before them. In typical fashion he found himself riding in the last ship to leave, joined by a few equally weathered comrades. His eyes drifted to the ornate saber hilt on Emry's hip, but now didn't seem like the time to ask about it, or the girl he had picked up either. Through the side window the former woodsman could see the rest of his squadron forming up around the U-Wing they were on, causing his grin to fade and turn into a scowl. His poor X-wing. There was no chance enough of it survived its collision with the anti-aircraft tower to be repaired, meaning he was the only member of his squadron without a snubfighter. What was a pilot without a set of wings? That was something he'd need to remedy pronto. He was pretty sure there was an old BTL-S3 Y-wing in the Mossflower's hangar that could be pieced together and fixed up with a bit of grease and a heck of a lotta love, though it seemed a poor substitute for his vintage fighter. The gunship rocked as emerald laser fire streaked across the forwards viewport of the cockpit. Rather than try to fight the turbulence like a novice, the General allowed his body to move with the ship, waiting for a moment where they eased off before making his way over to the pilot. "What was that?" He growled into the pilot's ear, leaning over his seat to stare at the instrument panel. Once he saw what was on the radar screen he wished he hadn't of looked. Engaged in a brutal exchange of turbolaser fire, the Rebel fleet was going toe to toe with a First Order patrol that had finally shown up. The Aura Blossom and Star Urchin were currently on the defensive, pulling away from the system even as gunships were still streaking into their hangars. A clearly Imperial resurgent-class star destroyer was hot on their tail, unleashing its banks of batteries while TIEs screamed from its hangars. Endor grimaced. "That's not good. Alright, forget about the Aura Blossom." He slipped into the co-pilots seat and strapped on the headset, quickly patching a channel through to the Mossflower. "Drenlin, you still alive out there?"There was a crackle of static, and then... Yeah, boss. Still in one piece, for now. We can't stay though, too many fighters. "Don't wait for us, we got a hyperdrive." Said Endor, before rising from his seat and pulling the pilot out of his. "Switch places with me. Trust me, I've only crashed once today." The bushy bearded General then sank into the warmed pilot seat and took the steering yoke in hand, before cranking back on the accelerator and giving the steering yoke a twist, sending the U-Wing into a turn that took it away from the battle. TIEs were already peeling off towards their gunship. "Plot a jump out of here." He said to the pilot he had just switched places with. "I can't." He replied. "The navicomputers never worked right. These things were assembled by ewoks. That's why we were using the MC80s as carriers." Endor turned and grabbed the man by the shoulder. "Are you accusing my people of shoddy work?!"Uh...Endor? Said Drenlin, still on the line. "Right, forget what I said. We still need extraction. Activate the Mossflower's SLAM and meet us at the edge of the system."
Wait, no, hold on a second. Last time we used that is nearly tore the ship apart. We just had the Corellians fix it for us." "Time to see if they did a good job. We'll meet you there." He looked over his shoulder towards the rear compartment with Vaughan and his team. "Hang on to your seats back there. It's about to get bumpy."

The Lepota was hard at the U-Wings side, with Benedicte managing to dodge much of the fire directed at the YT-2000 Freighter. There wasn't a great deal she could do to help in terms of helping the U-Wing escape, but Baqi'hansaka was busy on the guns keeping as many starfighters off them as possible.
Inside the transport itself, Vaughan had pushed himself up from the ground, leaving Alicia in the care of Dyami for now as he also made his way up to the cockpit area. He stared out first at the Patrol taking on their escape force before turning to get a look at the Resurgent on their tail. He gripped the handholds a little tighter as Endor slipped into the pilot seat and took over the controls. He had a very bad feeling about what was going to happen next Are you sure about this? Perhaps next time we won't travel in the same escape ship...
