Description:
The CAT (Civilian Assault Tactical) Refit for the C-9979 Modular Frigate turns the C-9979 into a work horse for Mining, Rescue, Natural Disaster, and General Work duties. Like the other Refits, The CAT has all of its enhancements focused in the wings. Within the Front wings are located the 4 Tractor Beams, 12 Dual Mining Laser Turrets, and 6 Grapple Claw Launchers. This allowed the CAT Refit to undertake mining operations within asteroid fields and on planet surfaces to gather materials.
The rear wings featured Mine laying control doors for deployment of Gravity Mines. Space within the rear wing had been dedicated for the storage of the resources mined by the forward wing apetures, whilst several liquid containers were also located in the rear wings with dedicated drop doors for delivering liquid payloads (such as for putting out forest fires, or watering crops with water, alternatively corrosive liquid payloads could be loaded in).
The CAT refit also features space for offering medical aide to organics or conducting repairs to mechanical forces. It features 4 Wingtip Laser Cannons mounted in 2 Fire-Linked Pairs, and 4 Turret-Mounted Cannons also in 2 Fire-Linked Pairs.
