*Iella led Kent into the medical wing of the base, with the intention to get the teen's burns treated. She was honestly feeling a little guilty now for letting this happen, which made her all the more eager to get Kent fixed up.
Fortunately, Iella knew how to treat these sorts of injuries, having done so many times in the past. It was a simple matter of finding the proper items and then following the proper steps.*"Hold still." *She started with the wound on Kent's cheek.*

*Iella sighed softly. Patience was a vital part of a Jedi's training, but she also had to remember that Kent was still very new to this and she wanted answers as to what had just occurred with the training remote. But those burns needed to be looked at, preferably sooner rather than later.
How best to explain this...*"That was the Force guiding your actions, Kent. In times of danger, it's not uncommon for that to happen to our more inexperienced members. In time, you'll learn to be 'awake' while 'doing'." *She shrugged.*"That's the simplest explanation I can give. I'll tell you more but first..."*She pointed to the wound on Kent's cheek.*"...you and I are going to the medical wing to get those looked at. Once you're patched up, I'll try to explain this in more detail."

*Iella stopped for a moment.*"Well I think the training remote malfunctioned for one thing. The shots it fires aren't supposed to be that powerful."*She opted to leave out the fact hat Kent's rather aggressive approach the first time around may have caused it. Of course neither of them could have known that would happen so there really wasn't any point in talking about it. But anyways...*"But even so, you still managed to deflect quite a number of shots. So...on the whole, not a bad first try." *She smiled.*"We'll discuss this more when we've gotten you patched up, OK?"

*Well that had certainly been a delayed reaction. Although in dangerous situations it was quite common to be so pumped on adrenaline that one didn't notice painful injuries until later. Not really how Iella had wanted to end this training session, but at least Kent had taken that first step. Still, it bothered her that the training droid had done that much damage to her...
But now it was time to hit the med bay. Iella was no medic, but as long as the teenager's wounds weren't too serious, she could probably just take care of it herself. Hopefully there was a doctor on hand just in case.*"Yikes. Come on, let's get to the med bay! *Moving around to Kent's unburned side, she took the teenager's arm gently and started leading her out of the training room.*"Easy now. We'll have those fixed up in no time."

*Iella watched Kent closely, still unsure if the remote was actually malfunctioning, but more concerned with the teenager's movements. She was still relying on memory, though it was a sound decision to keep her back to the wall. Still, her reflexes weren't enough to keep her from being shot and Iella winced as the remote's shots made contact. Those shots were more powerful than before, and Iella realized that somehow the remote had been altered when struck to fire more powerful bolts, almost as strong as was possible. Painful, but not lethal. She was about to halt the exercise and take a look at the burns when...
...by the Force she did it. The remote fired several shots, all from different angles and positions but Kent blocked each one of them flawlessly. With a broad smile, Iella reached out with the Force and pulled the remote to her, turning it off before it fired again.*"Nice job, Kent. You've taken your first step into a larger world." *She quickly took the helmet off of Kent's head, taking notice of the burn marks on her side and her cheek.*"We'd better get these looked at just to be safe. But you did it, Kent."

"Well now you know. Now less talk, more focus. And you're welcome."*Iella watched Kent closely as the remote began to move, erratically, more erratically than seemed normal even for the settings that she had put in. Something was wrong. Perhaps that strike that Kent did had done more damage than she had thought? Regardless, it seemed that this exercise had become a bit more than Iella had planned. She kept a close eye on Kent, ready to stop the session if something happened to her. So far it was just the remote's movements that seemed off.*

Training weapon or not, this was the first time she had held a weapon since the fight in front of the dinner on Nar Shadda. She was used to light based weapons. He thought back to the barely functioning light foil she had, and how it was lost the last time she used the Force. She powered the saber on and a yellowish blade sprang forth. It was balanced but the grip was a little larger than she would have liked but it would do for training. She tracked the remote, she began to memorize the pattern it flew and spun. Left and right she tracked it, blocking the bolts with ease. She was never really told what she was supposed to do, so instead of just blocking she spun like a dnacer to the other side of the remote in close. She brought the yellow blade up and into the bottom of the remote. The little droid received the arc of energy and was flung back against the wall with a loud thwack! How was that? Did I do it right? She knew the answer was no, she used her normal senses and did what she always would have done, not something new. Not something with the Force. She looked down, knowing she had failed, again. *Iella was a bit disappointed that she hadn't explained this exercise very well, but also Kent had done a little better than she had anticipated. Still, most of the time one wasn't actually supposed to be hitting the training remote like that. Sparring droids were more suited for that purpose. But they weren't done quite yet.
She smiled.*"Well...sort of. Tell you what, I'm going to have you try it again. With an added handicap." *She summoned the training helmet to her and then walked over, placing it on Kent's head with the blast shield down, shutting out her vision.*"You did well to block everything, but you're still not tapping into the Force. So that's what this blast shield is for. As good as you are with your eyes open, they can still deceive you. This time, you're going to act on instinct." *She picked up the training remote off the ground and tinkered with it for a few moments. The saber hadn't done any lasting damage to it, so it was a simple matter to get it running again. This time, Iella set the remote to act more unpredictably with its movements and the shots it would fire.
The remote began to move around, with Iella remaining silent as it started. This time Kent wouldn't get any warning that the exercise had begun again.*

*Iella led Kent into the training area, though it was already the second time she had been here. Kent didn't seem terribly enthused by the idea, but then their first attempt to have her feel the Force hadn't gone well.
She quickly crossed the room and picked out a training saber for Kent. This wasn't going to be a spar though, as she also plucked one of the training remotes, as well as noting the location of one of those helmets with the eye shields on it. She handed the training saber to Kent and set up the training remote.*"So I think we'll try something different this time. It was a mistake for me to try teaching meditation, because you haven't yet learned how to quiet your mind. But that's my fault, really. I can't train you the way I myself was trained." *She pointed to the remote.*"We use this remote to help train Initiates the basics of lightsaber combat. That's why I gave you that training saber too. It's a low power blade so there's no danger of injuring anyone."*She smiled.*"This remote is going to fire some low energy shots at you, and you're going to try to block it with that saber I gave you. The shots will sting, but they won't do any damage to you if they hit. So whenever you're ready, turn on your saber and the remote will begin its program." *Iella took a few steps away to give Kent plenty of space to work with and she waited to see how it would all turn out.*

*There was a pause as Iella pondered where to go from here. Simple meditation wasn't going to get them anywhere, so maybe there was something else...*"I see. Well in that case, I'd like to try something else. I think I've been going the wrong way about this to be honest with you." *She smiled and motioned for Kent to stand up.*"If you're feeling up to it, I have an exercise I want you to try. We'll have to hit the training room for it, though."

*Iella frowned a little, sensing Kent's frustration at her lack of success. Maybe she was going about this the wrong way. Sure the lesson she had proposed was the conventional way to start one's training, but it was now occuring to Iella that maybe conventional training might not be the best way to proceed at this point. But how to proceed from here?
From what little Kent had spoken of her past, Iella could deduce that it was filled with lots of time spent on the run. The teenager had mentioned using the Force in times of desperation, but...wait a minute. That gave her an idea. Not knowing what lay in Kent's past made what she was going to ask a bit risky, but if it worked, then Kent might find it much easier to find a connection to the Force...*
"Let's try something else, Kent. You've told me about how you've managed to tap into the Force in times of great need. I want you to try and remember one of those times. Think back to when you well and truly needed something to happen. Focus on the very moment that you were able to tap into the Force. Try to see if you can remember what it felt like."

*All right then. If Kent was ready, then Iella was going to try her best to teach her a basic lesson. Now how best to teach it to her...
She motioned for Kent to follow her.*"This way." *Turning around, she led Kent to a more secluded spot in the gardens. Confident that there wouldn't be any distractions here, she motioned for Kent to take a seat on the ground.*"I think this is a good spot. Go ahead and get comfortable and we'll get started.
*Iella waited until Kent had situated herself before continuing.*"Close your eyes and empty your mind..." *Another pause, then she continued.*"The Force is within you...as it is within all life. Quiet your mind and you will hear it speaking to you."*Reaching into her pocket, Iella pulled out a blank datapad and set it down on the ground in front of Kent.*"Stretch out with your senses, your feelings. Feel the Force around you."

*To be able to use the Force in desperate times was often the surest sign of Force sensitivity. As for being able to wiggle a spoon, while that was far less impressive than whatever feats Kent had previously managed, was still noteworthy. Most people, even if they knew they were Force Sensitive, would still have trouble with that. Regardless, it gave Iella a pretty good idea of where to start.
She smiled.*"I think I've got a good idea for your first lesson then. It's not uncommon for those strong with the Force to be able to use it in desperate times. Right now, though, you've only a faint sense of it. The first thing most Initiates learn is how to feel the Force. You must be aware of it in order to be able to use it at will."*She crossed her arms as she continued.*"So, Kent, are you ready to begin? We don't necessarily have to start right away, but if you feel up to it, I'd like to show you the Force."

*And there it was, finally. Kent was finally willing to accept their help. That had certainly taken some effort, but that would be totally worth it of Kent could realize her potential.
Iella smiled broadly.*"And Morgan and I are certainly very glad to help you!" *It probably wouldn't be official until Iella informed one of the Masters about it, but it might be best, at least for now, if she took primary responsibility for training Kent. The teenager might not trust anyone else at this point, certainly not a certain Zabrak Master in any case. And although Morgan was certainly no teacher, her presence might help as well.*"So have you ever been trained in the Force before coming here, Kent?" *The answer to that was probably no, but if it wasn't, it would help to know if Kent had had any previous training, even if it was minimal. In any case, it would tell Iella where to begin her training.*

*Well now they were getting somewhere. Sometimes all it took was a little tough love to get someone to finally open up. That didn't mean that helping Kent would suddenly be easy, but this was a start at least.
Iella's expression softened and she nodded.*"That's right, Kent. I want to help you be something better than you are now."*She extended her hand.*"So, will you give me a chance?"

* Maybe it was just because she wasn't in a good place at the moment, what with the disaster of her last mission or maybe it was because she had used up most of her good will and patience for her brief spar with Jake. Whatever the reason, Iella was starting to lose her patience with Kent. She obviously didn't want their help, nor their friendship. Still, for Morgan's sake, she held her temper and took a steadying breath. Now wasn't the time to lose one's cool...
She crossed her arms and gazed at Kent, her expression hardening despite her efforts to remain calm. But being nice wasn't working so maybe it was time to try something else.*"Look, I can't force you to trust me or anyone else here. And I'm not going to force you learn the ways of the Jedi if you truly don't want to. If you don't think you're up for it, then leave. I won't blame you."*She stepped closer to Kent, keeping her gaze fixed on the girl.*"But I feel the Force in you, and I'm sure you've felt it too."*She leaned in closer to the girl, lowering her voice a little.*"You're meant for something better than some runaway teenager living on scraps. And I, or someone else here can help you. But only if you let us."
*Iella straightened and stepped back from Kent.*"That's my offer, Kent. Take it or leave it. Your choice."

*Iella's brow furrowed when Kent said she didn't really need anything. It seemed the girl had never gotten a genuine offer to help before. She was never sure how exactly help someone who hadn't been helped before.
She might not be able to force anything, but at least she could put the offer on the table.*"Fair enough, I guess. Just to let you know, though, all my offers to help you have no strings attached."

*Three people caring about you was certainly better than no one at all, and Iella was glad to help out. Adjusting to a new place could be difficult, and it helped to have people there to make you feel welcome. A pity that "Old Hornyhead" had to be Kent's welcoming committee.*"I'm happy to help."*She could feel that the Force was definitely with this girl, but it was likely just untapped potential at this point. Time would tell if Kent would reach that potential...
First things first though.*"Is there anything you need right now? I'm not doing much of anything at present so I'd be happy to help."*Figuring Morgan and Mina were game, she added*"Morgan and Mina too."*She glanced at the girls.*"Right?"

*Old hornyhead? Iella wasn't much for badmouthing Jedi Masters, even stern ones, but that made her giggle. She was certain that if said Master was within earshot, there'd be hell to pay...but he wasn't, so she wasn't going to say anything about it at this time.
Childish quips aside, there was still the task at hand. It was natural for Kent to feel a little overwhelmed at everything that was happening. But Morgan was correct in her assessment that it was the Force that had led her here. Often the Force manifested as a "gut feeling" for many untrained users. It was just a matter of becoming attuned to it.
She nodded in agreement with Morgan.*"That's right. The Force brought you here for a reason."

*Iella could vouch for the fact that everyone lost their cool at some point, even Jedi. Even older, more experienced Knights too...she felt a pang when recalling the events of her last mission, but quickly brushed it aside. Now wasn't the time.
She shook her head.*"So you have issues. Well guess what? We all do."*Taking a step forwards, she continued.*"I can't pretend to know what you've been through, but you're not alone now. No Jedi walks their path in solitude."*She stepped closer to Kent and offered her hand.*"So...you wanna be a Jedi, kid?"

*Iella glanced in the direction that Kent was pointing, seeing the Zabrak in the distance. She hadn't met that particular Master, but she was aware of his...stern reputation. So maybe it wasn't surprising to see the girl so upset if that was the one she had been talking to.
She nodded when Morgan assured the girl that anyone could belong here.*"Of course."*She smiled.*"I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be here."
