This is a wonderful topic and we will definitely be keeping a close eye on it, watching the responses and seeing what we can learn from it as well! I also feel like this is as good a place as any to get some more eyes on our soon-to-be revamped RPA department, garner interest in that. Mr. Draykon mentioned it, and it's definitely a step many of us feel will lead to long-term improvement as well. Quick-hit thought: I love the idea of having a thread for newcomers to introduce themselves! I don't remember having such a thing on the old site, but we did have the newcomers' RP area for people to "learn" how to RP if they so chose before jumping into the universe. Not sure if that's something we need to bring back, but an introductions thread is a great idea! Would just have to think of the best, most visible place for that to appear...

Hey guys! We've recently taken a sweep through the list of usergroups, just to see which ones have remained active and which ones haven't, in order to do a bit of "spring cleaning," as it were. I know, it's not spring yet, but I can't wait... Winter's not very good for flowers... Anyways! We checked each group with a loose set of criteria to determine how many active default members it had. Any that had three or more passed. Any that had only one or two will be put on notice, with the opportunity to reclaim active status by April 15th. Any that had zero active members would normally be deleted outright, but we'll give those a chance to make a recovery as well. The following are the groups put on notice and may be able to attain active status again: Active members of the above groups will be contacted and given the opportunity to bring activity back to them, within the designated period. Alternatively, they may also request to have the group deleted. In the case of usergroup deletion, relevant faction headquarters will, unless active, be archived as well. In the case of activity, we will simply make them an open forum. Thank you for your time!

By my count—and I checked, and double-checked, and triple-checked!—there are nine unique default members for the group. I feel like I should remind you though that faction bonuses are still currently on freeze, but we should have an update on that soon!

Faysbuhk
Located within the deep core of the galaxy was the mysterious world of Faysbuhk. Its origins are unknown, as well as whether or not it truly even exists. Perhaps it was an anomaly, a shared hallucination between everyone who happened to experience it.
One thing was for sure: The rules of reality were quite warped in this world, this land of shifting terrain and surreal landscapes. From lush to barren, from picturesque to abstract, from logical to absurd... One would also find their own limits greatly increased, from their abilities to the size of whatever forces they may have. The only true limit was their mind... and their writing ability.
What was the secret of this world? The truth behind it? Perhaps none would ever know...
IC sympathy tends towards: Everyone! Or no one. All are welcome to join in on these 1.0-style shenanigans, with the understanding that anyone could be your friend or foe. Good luck!
Type of RP likely to be found: If you've been around JvS since its Facebook days, then you'll know what to expect here: Absolute chaos. Or maybe not, depending on the writing group. Maybe it's an opportunity for a Jedi and a Sith to have an enlightening dialogue about the force, or a smuggler and a pirate on ethics. Or just, ya know, have all-out battles in the middle of a large field or a populated city or what have you! Just be aware, this is a completely spontaneous RP planet. Scripted and closed RP would defeat the point!
Rule variations: Here, there are no rules governing fleet and army limits, hearkening back to the wild west days of Facebook where no such rules existed until very late in its life. Similarly, any restrictions on weapons you may carry or limits on Force abilities are also withdrawn here. The only rules regarding RP etiquette are respecting others and no calling hits in battle; even an overpowered teenage Sith Lord needs to let their opponents write their own hits after all! If there are any real conflicts, please contact a Whill, but otherwise, go wild and have fun!
Is this canon? Well, it's up to the individual writer if they decide to come here whether or not they want to incorporate any of their exploits here into their character's actual history, as a bizarre anomaly or even a dream. Or you can treat it as a non-canon event entirely. Strictly speaking... no, it's not canon, but so long as no one's using this world as a means to gain some sort of unfair advantage in the rest of the universe, then no harm done!
Enjoy your stay! This world was created as a temporary field of engagement for anyone from all walks of IC life to come here and goof off, a silly little reminder of how far we've come with none of the headaches or drama associated with the Facebook era. So with that in mind, do have fun, and happy anniversary JvS!

In the deep core, a new world is discovered. Little is known about it other than its chaotic nature. Indeed, it's such an anomaly that few are certain if it's even real, or actually exists within the confines of our own reality. For those who do travel to the world find themselves feeling as though they've been transported to a different era, a near-lawless one where their own limits seem greatly expanded. What will one find here? What purpose does it serve? Is there truthfully a purpose... ? --- Hi guys! Well, maybe a bit late, but it's here, the 1.0-style RP planet where people can go to goof off and celebrate how far we've come! As implied, rules are quite relaxed here. Inflate your armies, fleets, beef up your powers, and generally cause as much wanton destruction as you like. Far as I'm concerned, the only rule that stands is no calling hits, as well as respecting one another and the site rules, but it's there for people to go crazy! So enjoy yourselves, let loose, just remember: Rules or no rules, respect each other. Most of all, have fun! Now with Planetary Guide!

*From orbit, the strange world of Faysbuhk seemed simple enough: A very social world where friends and family could gather and converse about anything and everything. That was merely the impressions one would get from a distance, however, for what truly rested upon the surface of Faysbuhk was something quite more contentious, something many mortal souls may not find themselves ready for. Only the most daring of people—or unsuspecting—would be willing to take a closer look within...*

*The world of Faysbuhk was a strange place. Unique about the world was that it seemingly contained any and every type of terrain, building, and creature imaginable, sometimes even at the will of one of its inhabitants. It could be a beautiful place or a strange one, photorealistic... or downright abstract. Literally nothing was impossible to see here, no object or climate too bizarre as to not be found on the surface. Or below. Or above! One must take care not to get lost within the vast nooks and crannies, or fall victim to the myriad amusing sights. And do be especially aware, for the surface is an advertiser's paradise...*

*The Timeline was a gathering place for people of all walks of life. It was perceived as a spacious restaurant and bar, and anyone could attend the parties or discussions within. Framed above the entryway was an artist's interpretation of the god worshiped on Faysbuhk, Mahruk Zu'karberg. If one stared at the portrait, they find, much to their shock, that it would stare back. The restaurant itself was quite sterile in appearance, decorated in a shining white with highlights in blue; the owners had systematically ignored pleas for a darker setting that was less harsh on the eyes, but such was life.
While violence was not forbidden here, casual discussion was encouraged instead, lest one of the patrons hit one of the many "Report" buttons in hopes of removing any offenders from the area.*

As 2017 nears its end and we revel in the tenth anniversary of this site we all love, many of us I'm sure are feeling pretty nostalgic. This thread is for pouring out those feelings, talking about your experiences on JvS and what the site means to you. Whether you've been here ten years or one, feel free to share your experiences with us! And feel free to do so in whichever creative way you feel appropriate. Express yourself through a character, or through your own eyes as a writer, whichever! Let us celebrate all the moments we've had here. I know I wouldn't be in as good a place as I am without this site...

The castle occupied by the Sith Lord Darth Vader was constructed by Vader himself as a testament to his own might. It was located on the site of his greatest defeat, and was built over an ancient Sith cave. The complex's location and design came as much from the dark side of the Force as it did Vader's personal history. The central tower was constructed out of obsidian, and its tuning towers served as conduits for the dark side. Within, Vader maintained a bacta tank which he would rest inside.

*His response brought much relief to her; she wasn't afraid to admit a bit of selfishness on her own part regarding her flowers. She smiled and nodded, starting to back away from him.* "I don't mind! Enjoy your stay, and I'll be watching..." *She backed into the nearest bush and once more she seemingly vanished from sight, again becoming the unseen sentinel of her garden.*

"Well I certainly hope so!" *She folded her hands behind her back again and looked at the orchids herself.* "I'm... reluctant to give any of mine away... But I guess they'll grow back, so... You can take some of mine, if you want."

"Hmm... Well, it's a bit cliche, but why not white roses?" *The scene suddenly shifted as the two of them now stood in a completely different section of the garden, by several rose bushes. They came in many colors, but, of course, she indicated the white ones specifically.* "Or you could do carnations!" *Again they shifted, standing before the aforementioned plant. Chrys hummed to herself in thought, tapping her chin, then held up her finger.* "Or maybe white orchids!" *Once again, they stood in a new place; each time, the transition was seamless, and likely disorienting to one not used to such shifts.* "Some people like to use orchids as a symbol of 'refinement.' She sure sounds refined, so it may fit!"
