Jade was perfectly capable of holding her liquor. She came from a race of people that drank heavily. So, if she was talking, it was because she chose to do so.
Interesting. Mondder is the only thing I have said that has provoked a response other than annoyance.
Green eyes met the much taller Gungan's gaze directly as she replied, "About three weeks, give or take a few days. Nice place," was her direct, though not voluble answer.
She took another drink, noting how the sunlight turned golden and then red as it sunk through the clouds towards the horizon. It refracted off the windows of the Capitol building in a fashion that was nearly blinding if one caught it in the eyes at the wrong angle. "I assume then that you are familiar with this city?" she inquired casually.

IS there a line between love and war? Aren't they much the same thing ultimately? With perhaps an armed detente somewhere in the middle?

Just as long as I get half the royalties when it goes on the market...he won't have entrails by the time I'm done with him.

Nothing will save you from what is coming. Sorry. Also, I wasn't going to share the muffins. They are only for people who appreciate them.

Jade signaled a passing waiter to refill Non-Com's glass. "Coronet itself is older than the Empire, but the Capitol building suffered from sudden demolition in the form of Han Solo. It has since been rebuilt." She was not as informative as a tour guide, but she had made a point of familiarizing herself with points of interest on the world she called 'home.' As the Gungan examined the city she fancied she could guess the tenor of his thoughts, "Not many cities are designed to withstand a sustained attack from both land and sky. Not even old Bela Vistal, though it was a firm Imperial stronghold." The most unique city she had seen in this regard was Mondder on Etti IV, but she was not going to give details to someone she didn't even know.
She took another sip of her own brandy, savoring the smoothness and slow burn of the liquid. If he hadn't had a bit of alcohol with more on the way, she probably would not even attempt further conversation. She gave it a shot however, "I find cities to be interesting in the variety of design that goes into various structures. Some of it is quite hideous naturally," she half-smiled, "but the infrastructure necessary to run a giant city-planet like Coruscant is a bit mind-boggling if you take the time to actually think about it."
"In terms of the balance between high-powered defensive capability and aesthetic grace, I'd have to conclude that Mondder is a fascinating specimen, although it has nothing like the rugged beauty that can be found in Bela Vistal valley," she continued, half-introspectively, "and then, there is Tyrena, a twin-city brought together by long bridges. It is mainly a tourist destination and commercial center."

Too delicious to waste on such a blatant heretic!

"From the Academy? No, I don't think so." She considered for a moment or two, "That would be irregular, but not impossible." Evidently this book worked if one merely had a page from it? That was the only thing that made sense as she could tell that Aleranus was wishing to go to this place. Nala could tell that he thought the Demon he was looking for was there. But, something wasn't really adding up for her...
"So, this book that you use in your Quest... it is designed to hunt these Demons? It's a weapon?" She queried. Otherwise, why would the book want to find them? She doubted the Demons wished for the book.
She swung the door to the vault closed as Aleranus backed away. After locking it and double checking, she withdrew the keys, handed him one and held up the other, inquiring, "Are you sure?" in reference to him earlier saying that he wished her to keep the second key.

"I see." Nala left it at that and continued walking as she thought this over.
Just as they stopped in the vaults and Nala moved over to a data terminal, accessing vault records to see which were available, a wave of malevolence surged through the room. She turned in surprise, looking first at Aleranus, secondly, at his satchel. Fingers dancing across the screen in front of her, she spoke half to herself, "Bela Vistal was once a highly fortified Imperial stronghold on Corellia. It didn't fall till the rise of the New Republic, and when that happened it was nearly deserted. Only within the past years have pioneering types again begun to move into the area and build up what was lost. It is said that in the main square there is a famous crystal geyser taken from the Agrilat Swamp---" she broke off momentarily as she selected an empty vault.
Walking over to the attendant on duty, a quick conversation resulted in her swift return to Aleranus with two keys. She motioned him over to vault #083, and place both keys into their respective locks. After turning them, she pulled the handles and swung the door open.
Half-leaning against the wall of vaults she continued, "it is one of the things I have wished to see. Still, though by no means deserted, it will be years before it is again a center of commerce. I wouldn't advise going there alone on foot, not at night, and definitely not without being armed. The woods around it are still full of animals, and not all of them are friendly."
It is possible that something has begun over there and we have not yet heard of it. I wonder though, if Aleranus is successful in finding what he seeks, will he leave Corellia immediately and go on with his quest?
She hoped not. But, time would tell.
"No one really knows exactly what happened there under Imperial rule. Not anymore. Bad things can happen anywhere."

Bela Vistal Crystal Valley (mid-day)
"There aren't many who do," Bela Vistal was a former Imperial stronghold and after the fall of the Empire, when the New Republic had arisen, it had been largely abandoned over time. Still, there were some who had re-resettled Bela Vistal proper and perhaps over time it would once again become a flourishing economic center. However, it was not a journey that one should lightly undertake alone and on foot. Many predators and dangers still lurked in the woods around the valley itself. "But I desired to see with my own eyes the legendary crystal geyser," Nala replied calmly, with a minute gesture back towards the fountain she had been admiring.
Stepping closer to Yin She'She, she bowed politely and held out the bouquet of flowers she had been collecting, offering her a traditional gift of greeting as was the old Twi'Lek custom. "These are for you," a gentle voice broke the silence. "I am Nalatua'lin, from the Academy of Jedi here on Corellia." she introduced herself and then inquired, "Have you traveled far?" It was not what she wanted to ask, but she did not wish to startle the other woman or make her feel uneasy.
It is an effort for me, one I have not been called upon to make in quite some time. I want nothing more than to ask if she's ok and what has happened to her. But, I do not even know her name. I think she is not from Corellia...but---
The statuesque Healer did not allow herself to become lost in thought, as it would distract her from the present and perhaps cause her to lose the opportunity she sought.
