Right now, we're just trying to support as many of the members of the old site as we can. One step at a time and all that. Any improvements to chat aren't really a priority, but I can ask Furas to take a look at it when we get settled in. We do have the shoutbox for any new members who weren't on the old site.

Dav is correct, ProBoards does not support it by default.

Yes, we plan to add other color schemes at some point soon. I would think red, green, and grey to start.
Honestly, one reason we didn't provide updates early on is that there was nothing new we could report. We had to wait while Furas analyzed the situation, determined the old site couldn't be fixed, and then located the best place to host the site, keeping in mind cost as well as available features and stability. We want this to be as permanent a solution as possible, so it needed to be somewhere that could handle the load, which our old server couldn't.

The Sand People Enclave was a location in the Northern Dune Sea, far beyond Beggar's Canyon and Mos Espa. It was home to a large clan of Tusken Raiders and served as the Tatooine natives' equivalent to a city, though it was still small when compared to other Tatooine cities. The enclave served as a hub of trade among the sand people, protected by walls of stone and nestled between two twin mountains.

How To: Multiple Characters & Profiles with One Login
1) Look for the toolbar in the bottom right-hand corner of the site. It looks like this:
2) Click the leftmost button, "Switch Account."
3) Click "Create a new account on this forum."
4) Enter a Username for this new account, and click Continue. Follow the directions on screen.
You can return to the "Switch Account" screen at any time to switch profiles. Each Username will have it's own character profile and Display Name on the forums.
How To: Set Your Display (Default) Group
To gain Faction Benefits, each member wishing to be counted for that faction must set that particular group/faction as their "default." Only one group/faction may gain the benefits of being that profile's default group, provided each member profile has a unique IP address. The name of your Display/Default group will show up under your Display Name in the forums.
1) Go to your profile and click Edit Profile.
2) Choose the Settings tab.
3) Find the drop down box for Display Group. This will not be visible if you are not a member of a group.
4. Choose a Group (or None) and click Save Account Settings.
How To: Switch Color Themes
1) Go to your profile and click Edit Profile.
2) Choose the Settings tab.
3) Find the drop down for Forum Theme:

So. We're really here. Finally. You're not dreaming! What you see now isn't complete, but it's enough for you to start RPing again. There are pros and cons to the new system like there would be to any change in platform, and we'll be adding additional features in the coming days and weeks. I bet you have some questions. So let's get started. Were you able to import data from the old site?No, we were not. ProBoards does not provide a useful process for this. What this means:
- Faction usergroups and headquarters will have to be re-requested. We didn't want to set them up in advance, because we don't know which ones are still in use, and we wanted to give you the opportunity to make changes.
- Your profiles will need to be recreated. For the time being, BBCode does not work on profiles. Chill is researching a solution.
- Planetary control is considered to be frozen until further notice, without the express permission of the Whills. This will allow everyone to transition to the new site in an orderly fashion without a gold rush to be the first person to mark territory.
What's happening to the old site?
For the near future, the old JvS will remaining as it is, as a reference. Later on, once we're all settled in here in our new home, it may be moved to a different URL, and/or the data may be converted into a better format for serving as a permanent archive. We'll let you know if/when a decision is made. We do not plan to delete it (and we have backups).
Are the rules still the same?The Natural Laws, or Rules and Regulations, are under revision and reorganization. There may be errors or omissions in the rules that have been currently provided, however, this is not a license to ignore those rules. When in doubt, refer to the rules from the old site, or ask a Whill. At this time, the only major change to the Rules and Regulations is a revision of the allowances and ship classes for Personal Fleets. Corresponding changes to the Faction Fleet allowances and ship classes will be coming soon, as well as possible changes to Planetary Defenses and Group Troop allowances. We will let you know when these changes are made. What's the status of the Players' Guild?The Guild Councilors will need time to transition, just as everyone else does. Be patient and courteous, and give them space to get the Guild up and running again. The freeze on business RP that was announced before the site crash should be assumed to still be in effect for the time being. These rules are subject to change at any time: Participation on this site is conditional that you agree to follow these Natural laws. Failure to abide by them can result in punishments to be determined by the Whills depending on the severity of the infraction.1. We encourage users to resolve their conflicts in a respectful manner. If, however, you cannot reach an agreement you may Consult the Whills to help you reach a decision. 2: There is to be no OOC bullying, name calling, or harassment of any type. Malicious discrimination based on race, gender, ethnic orgin, sexuality, religious beliefs, or political beliefs will not be tolerated. If you think something crosses the line, do not type it. This rule is enforced across all sections of the forum boards. 3. You are here to role play, not to troll topics. If you intend to insult someone or to instigate an argument, do not post. A degree of common courtesy and respect for your fellow players is expected. 4. Many of the people who use this forum are minors and for that reason we ask that you be aware of the age appropriateness of your comments. The use of profanity is also subject to the same jurisdiction and intention of Rule 2, which prohibits the use of offensive language to bully, harass, personally insult or discriminate against other writers. 5. The setting for this RPG is the Extended Universe (EU), also known as Legends canon. Try to keep as close to this canon as possible. If it is not canon, base it on EU science; if its not based on EU science, base it on canon. If it is neither, it is best to avoid it. Jedi vs Sith has no precise or established date, however, the JvS Universe is set in the Legacy era (c. 50-150 ABY). This era is not exact, but only a guideline to set expectations when interacting with other characters. See the Beginners' Guide for more information on applying this rule to your RP. 6. Impersonating or otherwise representing the actions of other players without their consent is forbidden. All posted actions done under such pretense are to be ignored by the general public and reported by the victim player. 7. Your character must be your own creation. Existing canon characters may be referred to indirectly but their identities may not be assumed by any player. It is alright to use the name of a canon character as long as you make clear to people that you are a different character with the same name. 8. The planets and other locations must retain their canonical integrity, drastically altering a planet such that it bears no resemblance to canon is forbidden. 9. RPing that does not take place/cannot be traced in the Universe 1.5 does not constitute 'canon' RP, with the exception of that which took place in Universe 1.0. Acquisitions, transactions, even character knowledge: all of these need to be backed by IC RP on boards in this Universe. RP in chatrooms can also not be traced so does not count as having 'happened'. This is an inclusive RP, and so there is no need for Facebook RPing, especially given private locations. 10. Impersonating a Whill or a Celestial is also against the rules, the account in question will be removed and appropriate action will be taken. 11. Mass PMing for the purposes of spam, insults, bad humor and the like is strictly forbidden. Penalties for abusing the mass PM system will result in removal of mass PMing privileges at the least, and possibly even banning depending on the nature of the contents. 12. The ability to post images is a privilege, not a right, and the posting of inappropriate or distasteful images is forbidden. We ask that you respect the feelings of the community when posting images. Inappropriate subject matter includes (but is not necessarily limited to) depictions of pornography, nudity, racism, sexism, homophobia, self-harm, or any other lewd, offensive, excessively graphic, or derogatory theme, including anything used to bully or embarrass another member of the site. Images or links to images deemed to be inappropriate may be removed, at the sole discretion of the Whills. Please remember that what may not seem offensive to you could offend others. If you are in any doubt, consult a Councilor or a Whill before posting, or just don't post it. 13. Your fellow Role Players and Moderators will be treated with respect. Infraction reports will be filed in a respectful manner without ooc bantering in the report. If you have a problem with a rule or another player you have the right to complain about it respectfully. Complaints filed in a blatantly disrespectful manner will be ignored by the Whills. Continual failure to abide by this policy will result in punishment to be determined by the Whills depending on the severity of the infraction. (A blatantly disrespectful manner shall be defined as; vulgarity, name calling and anything that falls under that category). 14. Any punishments allotted by the Whills for violations of these rules will be done so at their discretion and will reflect the severity of the offense. This can range from verbal/profile warning to permanent banning from our Discord chat channel and/or the site. Further details on specifics (e.g. fleet sizes and troop allowances) can be found in the Traveler's Guide section on Rules and Regulations.

Account DeletionThe Whills will no longer be managing account deletions, as this administrative action can be done by the user himself from the account that he wishes to remove (however, account deactivations will still be done by the Whills). It can be accessed from the "Settings" tab on the "Edit Profile" page. See below.

Account Deactivation
We all have those days when we just need to take a break from RP or perhaps we are having a mental block with a certain character. We want a break from this character, but we don't want to delete the account or the character. That's where this thread comes in handy. Here you may request that your account be deactivated, which basically means you will not have any access to this account whatsoever, so please make sure you have a way of contacting us saying you want us to reactivate a certain account.
The format is simple
We will only deactivate the account you are posting from. Please leave an email or an account name from which you will be contacting us to reactivate your account. If you do not leave us with some way of contacting you, we WILL NOT deactivate your account.
This is not for every day use, please do not abuse this system by constantly activating and deactivating your accounts.
For account reactivation, you may pm us or contact us at jedivsith1@gmail.com
NOTE: We will do our best to check that email as often as possible, but it will always be slower than pming one of us.
To Delete an old account that you are no longer using, or wish to dispose of, click on the profile button located at the top left of the screen. Then click the Edit Profile button, and then the Setting button. To delete your account, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the highlighted Delete Account link and follow the steps.

Welcome to Consult the Whills! We have a fairly simple procedure that we ask all players to follow when using this forum, so please make sure to read the instructions before posting. If you have a request, question, or other concern that does not quite fit with the other Consult the Whills categories, we ask you post them here. Please keep thread names relevant to the request, issue or question - names such as "Help!" or "Request" or "Hey" are time-consuming and overall redundant, so please keep your thread names on-track and related to the subject matter. Additionally, please do not "hi-jack" threads in this or any other Consult the Whills sub-board - as it is inconducive to the running of this forum and may be done in other, less formal locations. This board is also home to the Suggestion Thread. If you think of any way to improve the site, a more efficient way of doing things, or generally any ideas for JvS that should be brought to the attention of the Whill Council, post them there or PM a Whill.

If a particular thread or an entire forum is only taking up space in your planet's general thread list, you can request it be archived, and it will be moved to a locked but still accessible "Archived Locations" forum on your planet.
For a single thread to warrant archiving the thread must have been dormant for no less than a month and have less than 100 posts in total.
You can also request to have an entire forum archived if it is no longer needed. Generally we will not archive an entire forum that has only been posted on seldomly, as we hope to convey a sense of responsibility in forum creation - as such, we will only archive forums that have a certain number of posts and a clear need is shown to have it archived (i.e. the faction/business no longer exists or the closed RP loop is complete).
Please format your submissions as follows:
Without the proper links, your request may be delayed as it takes us a very long time to manually search for particular threads - your cooperation is appreciated.
