Xeonon did not have time to register much before the boom of the gun sounded reasonably close to his own face. Had his armour not been blood red already it would have been stained in monkey blood. Maybe if he won this he would take both paws off Piffle and use one of his six wishes to clean the armour of blood, both his and the monkey lizards. The other five? Well he would have to think on that after all you dont pay with money when you use a monkey paw.
Of course Xeonon did not think about any of this. Instead he knew he had indeed at least winged the beast as the taste of copper filled his mouth, what he did not know was how bad. If he did he would have wondered if there were prosthetics that could be used to replaced the damaged bit of tail he had taken off and whether they would need to remove the nub that remained or if it would be some sort of weird hybrid of metal and flesh tail. He should have hit the little beast in the head, it did not occur to him until this moment that it could use the force. Yet here it was having done just that. Even without its weapons it still posed a great threat.
Of course even crippled so did he. Or more accurately his armour did. Feeling the weight of the beast shift to his back Xeonon fell onto his back hoping to smother and crush Malapert beneath his own weight and that of his armour. Or at least maybe just pin him until his cybernetics started working again so he could get his hands on those paws.

One round down seven to go. As the massively oversized spent round ejected from the pistol he was not surprised that he had missed but it still sucked. Maybe if his eyes hadn't been turned and he could see things might have been different. There was no point and no time in crying over spilt spotchka. The diminutive creature was jumping towards him. He could move out of the way, try to keep the thing away from him. He figured it would be a minute or so until his limbs responded again, but a minute is a long time to dodge and weave when all you have to sense a creature is the force and hearing. It had been a long time since Xeonon had played dodgeball and he doubted he could dodge a wrench for as long as he could in his youth.
Instead as the monster jumped he would find himself landing squarely on Xeonons chest and for a moment he wished that his armour was that of the Pratoerians. Then he could have just shocked the little monkey and be done with it. Instead the prehensile tail snaked its way around his neck and before it could start strangling him he took in as big of breaths as he could.
Who needs hearing right?
While the scream as a decent imitation of the sound nothing beats the original. Knowing he could regret it Xeonon put the slugthrower directly at the base of Piffles neck and once again pulled the trigger. Whatever happened the screams of the monkey lizard would be drowned out compared to the sound of one of the loudest booms either of them have heard.

Mostly intact was a very loose way of saying it. After all his right arm, both legs, and both his eyes were replaced with cybernetics. This was also ignoring the fact that under his suit of armour his body was covered with scars ranging from bullet holes, blaster shots, lightsaber strikes, and a surprisingly large amount of electrical shock scarring. You did not have to be the best duelist to win a fight, you simply had to out survive your opponent. You always have to be willing to sacrifice something to win a fight.
So when that EMP blast went off to say it was not ideal would be underselling it. Thankfully the way he had been standing saved one of his legs from shutdown. His arm, other leg and both eyes were less than lucky. Both seized as the cybernetics attempted to reboot. As he tumbled and the wash of literal cancer crackled over his body he did not feel the kitties claws until it was too late for his right eye. It was pulled out revealing the cybernetics inside that connected to his body and allowed him to see. He was able to save his one eye, but he would likely have a couple of new scars running below his eye should he get away from this beast.
Wearily Xeonon rolled onto his side and managed to take a knee facing the direction of the shuffling. As Xeonon reached out with the force trying to sense whatever or whomever fell onto him he was a bit surprised. It was something, if not a someone. It felt like a beast, something barely sentient yet there was still a spark in its mind. A small spark compared to other sentients but it was there. All he could sense about the creature was mischief. Even if this was just some wild beast that had gotten fat by eating herds of Wampas it would have to die. Allowing the force to guide his hand he whipped out his .48 caliber Enforcer Pistol and fired it directly at Malaperts center of mass. Silently he thanked the force that he had, had the foresight years ago to have a weapon that did not rely on electronics or else this monkey-lizard thing would probably eat him.

Why does no ever think to look up in these situations? Including himself. Hearing the noise of the belt clinking as it slid down and off the rafter Xeonon looked up towards the source of the disturbance and saw another object that would be landing within a few feet of him. It took him all of a moment to identify it and the things on it. A blaster, the smallest lightsaber he had ever seen and a grenade of sorts. Unaware the infamous Dropbear distraction technique Xeonon fell for it. Once the bandolier was within striking range he lashed out with his lightsaber. His main target being the lightsaber Xeonon cut through the leather holding everything in place as it stood (fell) vertical.
His lightsaber would only nick the tip of the barrel on the blaster, bisect the lightsaber. With the weight of everything thrown out of synch and no longer balanced the EMP grenade seemingly swiveled in the air as the top third of the cylindrical grenade, or maybe the bottom third (its hard to tell) met the same fate as the lightsaber. He did not have time to think about what it was doing up there or why everything seemed like it was fitted to the size of a small doll before something heavy and warm landed on the top of his head sending a jolt of kinetic energy through his spine. Something told him he was now a few inches shorter and would likely need to visit a chiropractor after this fight. Falling to the ground Xeonon lay flat on his back as something small, furry, and tangy touched his lips. If he had known what it was he may have vomitted on the spot.

Like all renovators Piffle was loud, and quite frankly annoying. As the thermal detonator soared towards him he heard the tell tale whine of the countdown getting loud and louder. Closer and closer. Turning to look at the source of the noise Xeonon could not see who had thrown it, with Piffle being lost in the darkness of the rafters. As the detonator hit the ground on the first bounce he threw out his open palm and pushed the explosive away from where he stood. It had been flying towards a broken T-47 but before it could hit, it exploded lighting up the hanger. He could feel the heat of the explosion on his face and knew if he had been only a few inches closer he would likely have needed new synth skin. Whomever he was facing was in the hanger proper and they were hiding. So much for a fair fight!
His voice echoes off the walls and got lost behind him. The explosion had ignited something near the airspeeder. Maybe an old fuel tank, or maybe some poor rebel had gotten stuck in the base and was eaten by those ravenous womp rats. The dancing flame flickered gave off weird shadows as he looked around trying to find a spot where someone may have been standing to have thrown the detenator at him.

He may be into his golden years but there were two things stopping Xeonon from retiring. His connection to the force kept him young beyond his years and a sense of duty. An Imperial Knight was an Imperial Knight for life, and while certainly a handful of exceptions had been made through the years he was not one of them. He still had a lot of mistakes to make up for.
Hearing the pitter patter of small feet, beyond the light coming from his silver blade he would have chalked it up to womp rats if it wasn't for All The Snow. Maybe someone transported them here while Echo Base was still a functioning rebel base and these were the descendants of those original rats. As he kept walking his mind idlily thought of a warren of cannibalistic womp rats stalking him just outside the light of his blade waiting for the right moment to strike for fresh meat.
Shaking his head at that though Xeonon walked out of the hanger into one of the hallways thinking his opponent might have gotten lost in the maze of tunnels.

Xeonon walked through this broken and forgotten part of Echo Base. Rubble, snow, and duracrete littered the floor as well as the largest Wampa skeleton he had ever seen. Along one side of the wall lay the rusting bulks of rebel fighters left behind during their evacuation of the base. Looking around he tried to find his opponent but could not see them anywhere. He wore his usual Imperial Knight armour the blood red colour standing out amoung the white and grey. Already in his hand the silver lightsaber synonymous with his order was the only thing casting any light in the abandoned hanger. On his right hip both his blasters were holstered in the event he would need them.

Xeonon listened to the preacher speak and audibly snorted at his words. He did not need to believe in divinity. Nicademus was not the voice of an all powerful god, nor was his leadership divine right. He had taken it and seized that power to bring peace and prosperity to the galaxy. Why believe in a higher power when he could reach out and feel the Force, when one could conceivably achieve ever lasting life by becoming one with the Force. As he finished Xeonon walked up to The Emperor and leaned forward whispering in his ear so as to not offend anyone grieving, and offer a modicum of privacy. Sir with your permission I wish to remain with the body and escort it to Bastion. It would not do well for a Fel to return home without someone to watch over it.

Having heard of the death of a Fel while he was above Camaas Xeonon had returned posthaste to Coruscant to meet with the Emperor. He had known that Nicademus would have planned to leave the planet to pay his respects. Xeonon was here to both protect him and to pay his own. If it had not been for the Fel Empire, for Gabriel Solomon he would have just been another escaped slave trying to survive and to keep his head down on the fringes.
Opting not to speak he instead stood at the back of the room keeping an eye on those within and making sure that any who entered did not mean harm to the Emperor, and in proxy the remaining Fels. Keeping his mind open he could even sense the others both within and without of the building. Although he did not feel the anger seething beneath his mental defenses he could sense the control the mind held and it was powerful. Xeonon had never met any of the members from this branch of the Fel line but he could see the resemblance to both Cade and Roan in the brothers that stood before him.
Hearing Nicademus speak the name Caed still shot a spark through his nerves all these years later. Caed had been a fool, brave but a fool. His plan to drive a knife into the heart of the Unknown Regions had been bold, and even now know one really knew what happened out there. Even as a few fleets returned and new leads were opened up they had lead no where. The trail was cold. Caed had no doubt perished. The Fel Empire had fallen into disarray until it was just a bunch of warlords fighting in the Deep Core.

Not bothering to open his eyes Xeonon forced himself not to smile.
No. Believe it or not but you and probably everyone else on this ship has more experience than myself in space. Im a boots on the ground kind of guy.
Whether Standash would call him on that he did not know. While it was true he was primarily involved in ground combat and was one of the most renown fighters in the Empire there had been several instances where he had been involved in fleet combat. Including being part of the group involved in orchestrating the naval battle over Prakith. His skill did not come even close to that of the true naval commanders of the Empire, and if she had been placed in charge of a fleet then she would have more knowledge than he.

I can wait
Despite this being a relief fleet it would be difficult for anyone to get off planet between the quarantine measures and their presence. Crossing his arms Xeonon simply closed his eyes and stood still folding his armoured arms over his chest and waited. Despite his closed eyes he was aware of everyone on the bridge. He did not pry to deeply into their minds but their surface thoughts and emotions swirled around him. The air of professionalism that exuded from them impressed the Imperial Knight. Yet it was Standash that most interested him. Although he would not pry she was a bit of a mystery to him. He could not figure out why a former head of state that had fought the Empire now had a leading position within it.

Walking onto the bridge shortly after arriving in the system Xeonon made his way through the working bridge crew garnering a few looks but did not cause too much of a disruption. They knew that he was onboard and dozens had seen him during transit to the system, and although still an oddity they had grown used to his presence.
When can me and my teams make our way down to the planet?

Reading over the reports on the fleet Xeonon was pleased to see how efficient it was. At one point he had put together a fleet of ships, and it was a mess. There was no synergy, just a fleet cobbled together last minute. Of course Standash had the backing of the full might of the Empire at her disposal. Xeonon had had a single shipyard and whatever forces had remained loyal to him and the Imperial Knights after the fall of the last Fel Empire. I will take whatever you are willing to send and what you are thinking is needed to avert the crisis. I am just hitching a ride.
Next he flicked over to a list of the trainees, noting near perfect scores across the board for several of them. These, the next generation of Imperials will be the ones who will take over for them years down the road. Selecting the top scorers, he also made his way to the bottom of the list. They had the skills to get where they were, but not to excel. Taking a couple of them as well he looked up to Standash to see how she would react to his choices of people who were at best on par.

It was strange not knowing things. There was a time before his being announced as still alive that Xeonon had known most of the goings on within the First Order. Now he was not even aware of a virus, even a novel strain of it on Camaas. Indeed he did not even know about the Humanitarian Fleet. It felt like he was being blacklisted and that someone was actively working to keep him in the dark. Well Princess even if I don't find anything out here regarding a larger threat maybe I can provide some sort of assistance with this virus. How long do you think it would take to mobilize the fleet and get some of the top recruits from various fields to work alongside me? Maybe show them that the Imperial Knights are just as human as them.

You will have to forgive me Standash, but I am not well versed in virology. What is the Blue Shadow Virus? Regardless what it was it was an oppurtunity to covertly enter into the system under the guise of helping people in order to get to the bottom of this. Do you think this virus and my investigation may be linked?

I won't lie to Standash it had occurred to me that you were the Supreme Chancellor before becoming part of the Empire. I can not speak for anyone else within the Empire but you have my word that at this point I do not think you have anything to do with this.
Reaching into one of the pouches on his belt Xeonon pulled out a small data pad. Laying it on the table before them a small star map showing the local sector of space. New Carida was on the outside of it and it along with a dozen other worlds dotted across it were blue, with four of them red.
I was hoping to work with you, and maybe some of the troops training here to get some field experience. As you can see its relatively small. Most of the worlds that are having issues seem to have no connections, New Caridia just happens to have the best routes to these worlds. Xeonon understood the implication. That it may have spread from here, or that the whatever was happening had a central location. On first glance I would say these are at random. No common thread between the types of dissent. Maybe investigation might prove otherwise but thats why I am here. Boots on the ground and such.

Walking over to the chair and sitting down it strained against the added weight of him and the armour he wore but it held.
As much as I would love to constantly call you by your proper title Your Highness Princess Standash Alizarin Thul, Chancellor and Moff Regent of Carida I fear that I would never leave the planet. Of course being stuck on a planet with a beauty like you would not be so bad. His face contorted to that of a lecherous old man as he spoke before going back to the usual joyous look he has.
Just standard procedure Standash. A few systems nearby had reported unusual amounts of unrest, nothing crazy but someone felt it was necessary to send someone out to investigate. I figured it would be best to work my way from a Imperial stronghold like New Carida towards where the reports were. Just wanted to make sure that they hadn't made their way here and done anything.
Xeonon was careful with how his tone sounded. To the wrong person they may take it as an accusation. In truth Xeonon did not expect to see anything out here beyond some troops. This was a fools errand. If there was any amount of unrest in the colonies then it would not last long. Someone had wanted to get him out of the Core and this was their best way of doing that.

Bringing his clenched hand up to his chest and held it there for a few moments as a salute. Although there would be some who would argue that the Imperial Knights, whom functioned as the Emperors bodyguards and thus an extension of the Emperor himself Xeonon was not one to worry about such things. He stood before a Moff, and one whom looked over the training of the Imperial Forces. She deserved the respect.
Please, just Xeonon will do Moff Thul, or if we must use our proper ranks just Knight Solomon. You have done well looking after the place, certainly a less qualified person would not have been able to accomplish as much as you have.
Looking back at the aide who brought him here he nodded and smiled at her.
Thank you for getting me here, I would have been lost without you.
