Burkhart chuckles as Kamau concludes his description of what a Jedi Watchman does by saying he is more of a fighter than anything, "Well, we will have to see about giving you something to fight then, won't we? Taking a drink of his whiskey, Burkhart confesses, I prefer to take a hands off approach to CorSec and CDF business unless they ask for anything, explaining, They know their jobs better than I do, and then proposes, Tell you what, why don't you take the day to get settled in to the apartment we've set aside for your use, and I will reach out to our CorSec and CDF friends here on Talus to see if they have anything on their plates that would give you a shot at finding some evil to fight? And, he smiles as he salutes Kamau with his drink, I will keep your offer to advise me in mind when anything comes to my attention that sounds like fighting evil could be involved. How does that all sound?"

Smiling as he returns Trauner's salute with one of his own, Kamau lifts his glass as he says, "That all sounds acceptable, and then downs the last of his whiskey before standing and setting his glass on the desk. Bowing at the waist, Kamau says, I look forward to hearing what you learn from CorSec and the CDF, and to working with you, Mr. President."
After exchanging comlink and holonet mail information with the President and confirming where his new residence is located, Kamau shakes Trauner's hand and makes his way to the apartment that he has been provided. As, like most Jedi, he has nearly all of his worldly possessions on him since they consist only of his present attire, lighhtsaber and other assorted equipment, Kamau does not take long at all to set up shop int the apartment. Not one to remain idle for long, Kamau pops a food capsule from his belt into his mouth after so that hunger will not interrupt his plan to do digging around in holonet reports concerning recent events on Talus to gain a better understanding of the current state of affairs on the world so that he make any decisions concerning where and how he might best focus his attention in the short term, trusting that the long term planning he will need to do will come about in its own time.

The morning after Kamau's first night on Talus he will receive a holonet message from Burkhart informing him that an opportunity to assist the CDF in an investigation has arisen. The sensitive nature of the investigation prevents Burkhart from going into any great detail, but he does give Kamau the name of the CID Warrant Officer - Ivo Ravier - in charge of the investigation, along with a time and place where Ranier has agreed to meet with the Jedi.
Ivo, sipping a caf as he sits at a booth inside Vincent Van Doughnut in the capital city, reviews the notes he has taken after visiting the scene of the crime that had his superiors so concerned that they insisted that the new Jedi Watchman on Talus be brought in to aid him. Ivo prefers to work alone, but given the unique circumstances of the case decides to keep an open mind about working with someone else for a change.

Talus had relied heavily on imports of medical supplies for many years without incident, but in the aftermath of the First Order attack on the star system, doctors on Talus suddenly found that their shipments had been diverted to relief efforts on Corellia, and their suppliers wanted high prices from medical facilities on Talus for replacements, knowing that the same supplies could easily fetch that much or more from the military emergency relief corps on Corellia. The Dearic Medical Center, like many other hospitals in the Five Worlds, had understood these spikes in the immediate aftermath of the war, and easily covered them with emergency funds. However, months had passed, and the prices had not returned to their previous ranges. Patience - and money - were running thin.

The red-skinned Nikto scowled at the inventory numbers that scrolled across her datapad. Tapping a button on her desk-mounted comm, she buzzed her assistant in the next room. There was one card left to play, if she was going to prevent the hospital from going bankrupt. Drey, do you think you can get me a meeting with Dr. Djo on Selonia? Maybe the Hapans can help us, too.

Right away, ma'am. The human male quickly replied. She didn't have to explain. The Hapan Royal Medical Service's medical relief work was well known throughout the Core Worlds, as was the significant funding the Hapan Royals had made available to the Five Worlds Medical Center on Selonia. Calling upon them was bold, but an obvious step.
