Of the Wookiees, by the Wookiees, for the Wookiees.
Basically, I'm hoping to bring Kashyyyk to the level that I believe it deserves as a beloved planet in the SW lore. During its time on Jedi vs Sith, I feel Kashyyyk could be classified as a missed opportunity. There's no reason to go into detail, but there are probably plenty who agree that Kashyyyk deserves some fresh faces and involved SLs.
First off, I'd like to know if anyone currently "runs" Kashyyyk or plans to when the "ownership" of planets comes back into play, if ever.
Second, it would be awesome if people jumped into RPing on Kashyyyk with me. I was hoping that this character would be a freedom fighter/liberator Wookiee who gains independence for his people and ultimately brings his home planet out from galactic obscurity and into the fold of active SLs. I'm willing to change the nature of this character if I think it'll make for a better story, however.

Our group isn't exactly up and running as of yet, but I think Ander Tagira and myself would be interested in supporting a fight for freedom on Kashyyyk. We are trying to establish the "Galactic Security Assistance Force" and I think a wookiee revolution would be right up our alley. I would be greatly interested in participating in this freedom movement. I run a security company, but that's just an excuse for having soldiers and whatnot work for my character IC. I'd love to have some in-depth combat and non-combat RP to liberate the planet of Kashyyyk.

The only problem with all of that is that we have a ton of people willing to help liberate.
Anyone want to step in as the pseudo-Kashyyyk Sith? There's gotta be a bad guy, though I could have Katkazza represent the loyalist Wookiees.

There's room for anyone and everyone at this point. I think there should be some RPing on Kashyyyk on my part first off, as well as everyone getting ready and planning things out before we jump in. The freeze on interplanetary war and governship should be lifted within a week or two - if we're ready by then, we're golden.

I don't believe anyone owns it. The Kashyyyk Sith haven't made the jump to the new boards, except for my Sith, Electrix, who is currently a Force Ghost In the Shadowlands.

I'd be happy to have my group launch some kind of secret coup on the world that puts some tyrannical government in place. If you're looking for bad guys, look no further. This could be a really cool SL if we have a lot of people working on the side of the "liberators," too. I figure we could get my Sith plus some mercenaries and various businesses on our side to represent whatever regime it is we set up. There'd have to be some set-up to put us in a place of power, but once we get where we need I'd be happy to have our shit toppled in favor of a truly Wookiee-run Kashyyyk.

Basically just have the SI fill in the gap where the Kashyyyk Sith originally were? I'm down for that. I'd say once the "ownership freeze" thaws out next week or so, we could officially start the SI's involvement and get things in place for Katkazza to gather reinforcements to his side. From there, I think there's potential to have a Jedi-Sith conflict as well as actual fleet and ground combat between opposing forces. The Kashyyyk Rebellion could go down as one of the first major conflicts on JvS 2.0 if we're careful to plan everything correctly.

Slaving is an excellent plot element. Perhaps when the SI takes control they can reopen old slaving venues on the planet.
And blobby, I honestly don't know what you plan on doing. lol Feel free to squish in any time I suppose. I still have yet to actually flesh out the character.

I have already spoken to Katkazza a little about this via PM. But my idea was that a company I am planning on establishing, in an effort to expand its influence and defend its interests, would secretly fund anti-revolutionary efforts. I was thinking this could take the form of a faction of Trandoshan Slavers/Mercs, they wouldn't necessarily be allies to the sith but work with them so long as it benefits them.

You should contact The Shepherd. A big part of his character's motivations is the desire to see a free Kashyyyk. He'd love to have his Jedi in on this. Yavin will be able to provide a few people for the liberation side. And I could possibly have my Senator character arrive for post-liberation talks to join the Republic. |
