I've also considered the Eye to wield mind altering effects like that too. When we RPed it way back when, (2008?) the battlestation's AI, was corrupted and basically exerting mind control on the inhabitants. It took the form of a rampant AI called "Legion." (biblical reference, I wasn't familiar with mass effect at the time I thought it up.) Legion and Grimfang mind-fucked each other.
The thing that I have against the battle station having the ability to project mind control powers is just that. to be able to do so is kind of a game breaking ability, like blowing up a planet. Especially being able to do so at the range it can do. To reach all the way to Pzob, or other planets, it seems over powered to me. Not that the battle station's existence is already over powered LOL. But, then again, if there was something about the location that amplified the power- something like the nebula is the nebula resulting from the explosion of the dark star that created the Pzob system- that would be something that could create some sort of plausible resonance or connection bewteen the Eye, the nebula and Pzob/the temple- meaning that the mind control is over powered, but basically only in those three places. new recruits might be a result of the Eye mind controlling any one that enters the nebula unawares- which would also explain why the Eye had remained hidden. No one escapes the nebula without becoming a thrall and sent to Pzob.

No one escapes the nebula without becoming a thrall and sent to Pzob. I think that's it. That would make the most sense to me. Really it only needs to get them through the door, once they are here their conditioning is likely more a result of the horrors they would be subjected to by...well, us, lol.

I was wondering if you were game for another SK/Tyna team up? I was thinking they could go on a mission together in the deep woods region for some reason or another, which is where SK can find something shiny to shove in his chest. Also thought it might be neat to run into Ian again only to find out he's evolved into some boar monster leading the cannibal tribes.

Tyna is always up for a team-up with her friend. The outcome of "revelations" is she becomes more of a believer/mystic. She still might not believe on SK's level though. Do you have a timeline for starting the RP?
Part of revelations also rekindles Havok's belief, but he would considers himself a mystic and less of a believer in the way that Eli or SK or Dragus believe. But that's ok, because, the whole adventist switch should standarize some belief systems in the Eye.

We can start whenever. I figured we could peck away at it like we did with Operation Goodboy.
Right now with the new body I figured I would finally set up Starkiller in like a steward position around Pzob. So I've pulled his fleet out of retirement and will fix up the satellites in orbit so I can finally get around to touching up the travelers guide. That way uncle Draggy is free to do his thing for the Sith Eternal and only shows up from time to time to keep up appearances.

Ok by me. are we doing a set up where SK and Tyna fortuitously meet at the perimeter of the deepwoods and go it, or are you basically making a comlink call to invite Tyna to meet up/hang out? LOL. If more than a day or two pass, Tyna would be back in her bunk on the Belphagor, unless you were thinking Tyna and SK meet up and head out from the temple?
And dude, I love the orbit post. it reminds me of the mutara nebula in Star Trek wrath of kahn, and the weird properties of the nebula fucking with ship systems. I love it!

Oh you meant IC timeline, lol. Yeah, like I figured they could just meet up at the forests edge saying with some pre-arranged explanation. Like Havok wanted her to help SK investigate reports of the Gamorreans doing something funny, or like, SK asked for her assistance because she knows Force mojo and that might play a factor in whatever they are gunna check out.
It could take place a few days after the events of Operation Goodboy, or a month after, or whatever. The period between those events is less consequential for SK, so however it fits into your Master/Apprentice trials/lesson you got going with her right now should be fine for my character I think.
Have her bring camping supplies though, unless she is good sleeping on the ground.

Sounds good. Though, I know Tyna's will show up catching a ride on a ship. I also know she'll ask why they need to walk through the woods instead of doing an aerial insertion. But, unless the woods are "sacred?" Its just a taboo to fly over the woods? Its like the burmuda triangle and inexplicable/negative things happen to ships that fly over the deep woods?
Patting my own back about my post: Darth Tyna, putting "bitch" with a capital "B" in Apprentice! LOL! "Bapprentice." XD

This is one of those times where you need the Star Trek writers that came up with all the fake science.
"We can't fly over the area because there is a high concentration of imaginasium in the ground that is interfering with the polarity of our ion engines. It can't be done, Cap'n!"

I think I'll go with a Bermuda triangle effect, have charts indicate the area is a no-fly zone, due to "Unexplained anomalies, phenomena, and undocumented flight hazards." In essence the no-fly zone was created to manage a statistically significant increase in unacceptable risk. We don't fly there, because way too many crashes happen over there and we don't know why, but the math backs up our conclusion. its unsafe. So until we understand what is happening, the solution is: don't go there.
That will kick the can down the road so we don't have to invent imaginasium right now. LOL.
I also love that you picked up on Mortale pointing to Ives. I donno if I told you, but I talked to Mortale and asked him if he wanted to come back, and he said he wasn't. So I figure his character is free use for us, which btw, loving the set up for the woods. Already working on drafting something.

Might be a dumb question, but I am assuming you're more or less taking the lead in the deep woods RP? Did you have an idea in mind with the Shrine? I'm still trying to figure out the religious level of Tyna, so that's why I'm not suddenly dropping her to her knees and uttering a bunch of prayers. She's never going to be at Brother Eli's level of nuts. But she also won't be derisive of believers. These things sometimes take time to sink in. I mean what would I do if I suddenly found out that some random tribal religion involving ancestral worship in Ethiopia was the one true religion? It'd blow my mind and then I'd have to slowly learn the teachings, figure out how to live it, and reorganize my entire life around the new truths.

Yes, let me take the lead on this one. I've got a few ideas for some interesting situations to put them through. I should hopefully get a post up today.
I had nothing specific planned with the shrine. It was mostly just to create a marker for the border of the area and I figured with SK being renewed and taking on a caretaker role, it would make sense for him to throw some neat Eye shit everywhere he goes.
Tyna's level of belief doesn't really matter to SK. He sees her as this figure chosen by the Eye, prophet/saint/whateveryawannacallit. So even if they disagree about something or she does something SK wouldn't, she can pretty much do no wrong in his eyes. If she is still trying to figure out what this religion means to her or whether she even wants to have anything to do with it, she can ask SK whatever she wants about it. Her divine providence pretty much excludes her from getting beheaded for any heresy.

I am really looking forward to it.
Yes, I am writing her as immature, but IC I have her age as like 15. She literally is a teenager. She will have questions.
And first revelations post in the Temple more or less finalized. just some formating and tweeking to do. Then on to the sacrifice post after that.

Looking forward to it, but no pressure on you. I hope you got to enjoy time with your daughter! I'll be working more on progress in the temple this weeked. Once I have everything hammered out there, I'll know where Tyna is at (psychologically), and that will allow me to play her in the deep woods at the appropriate religions level- because I honestly don't know. Weird to say with my own character, right? But somethings its like I have to RP them out before I understand fully how my character is affected/changed.

I totally get that. Sometimes you just gotta feel the character out. The best is when something comes to you spontaneously, you try it, it works, and it becomes a part of that character forever after.
