The Great Jedi Library, also known as the Library of Ossus or as the Great Library of the Jedi, was a library on Ossus for Jedi students. From the days of its foundation, the Library of Ossus contained the culmination of hundreds of generations of knowledge and wisdom.

Zero entered the Library and stood in the entrance for a few moments looking around.
This was where Typhor belonged, surrounded by millions of books and tomes, holding the secrets of the universe. This was his home and this was where he spent the majority of his time, soaking in what the universe wanted him to know. And down, far below the Library was one of his offices, his less official one. It was of course the Chamber of Antiquities, which he had discovered and rebuilt.
He walked towards a section of the Library. When he got there he searched the shelves for a few moments before reaching up and choosing a dusty old book. He sat down on a nearby chair and began to read.

*The human female climbed through the vents for what seemed like hours in search of her prey. Eventually she made it to the vents that connected to the library. She scanned through the several vents before she finally spotted what she had been searching for. There sitting in a chair was her target, Typhor Zero. Carefully she removed the grate and dropped silently to the floor behind him. She spoke in a cold almost mechanical voice when she addressed the Jedi.*
"Typhor Zero. I have been searching for you."

A noise as of boot-heels thumping firmly along the corridor betokened the purposeful approach of the owner a few seconds before that individual arrived in person at the entrance to the Great Jedi Library of the Ossan Academy. It was a young female of lithe figure, shown off to advantage by her attire, light-sided in Force aura, though definitely not wearing the typical Jedi tunic. Annikki Perala greeted the custodian of the library politely and proceeded to an unoccupied data terminal from whence she proceeded to look up pertinent information on the Jedi frequenting this particular location as well as a brief history of the Academy itself. It was her normal procedure upon arriving at an unfamiliar place.

Sweat pooled on a furrowed brow before running down a thin nose to drip onto the counter. From under that perpetually furrowed brow were two piercing gray eyes, each pinched nearly shut as thin lips pulled themselves into a sardonic smile. A sharp jaw and black hair styled swept back severely only added to the appearance of severity and harshness; the fact that the man was currently leaned over the counter of the Great Jedi library yelling at the head librarian was really only secondary. But, then, he wasn't a regular Jedi; he wore polished black issued officer boots (perhaps hinting at a military life before he became a Jedi?), a pair of white pants, and a red high collared tunic over which he wore a white piped rebel pilot flack vest. A brown leather jacket rounded out the outfit, hanging down to the knees, under which a utility belt held several small devices, a single lightsaber, and oddly enough - a blaster.
"Give me access!"
The librarian, hairpins skewered through a tight severe bun, shook her head and crossed her arms over her austere gray robes. With a frown, she pursed her lips together as she gazed silently at the man.
= Librarian = "Anger is not of a Jedi."
The mans eyes seemed to narrow even more, and he took a small device out of his pocket, and keyed it.
"See this?"
A hologram materialized in the air, rotating slowly to display the Jedi Investigators seal, along with it were several identification codes and electronic security seals verifying his identity. Slapping the emitter down on the counter, the man ground his teeth.
"Now give me access to file 23432-35525-23552-AJJ8, section 4, subsection 3, paragraph 1."
The librarian grimaced slightly, and simply shrugged.
=Librarian= "I'm sorry sir, but that files restricted to Jedi Masters...regardless of Investigation, your going to have to petition for its release to the investigative division through your duty officer."
Silently, the man stared at the librarian...before slowly taking the emitter and switching it off. Stalking off, the man sat down at a computer terminal not far from a fellow Jedi - glancing at her, he saw that she was some kind of exotic female...most stunning. A grunt, and he looked down at the terminal...and casually fumbled with something on his belt. Silently, he began to inset a small metal cylinder into the terminal...and watched as coding began to flow across the screen.

Annikki looked up as an argument broke out over at the main circulation and reference desk of the Library. Greyish-purple eyes narrowed as long dark lashes momentarily veiled them. She let out a sigh and returned her attention to the screen in front of her. Currently she was perusing a brief bio of Devlin Dewe, Battlemaster of this Academy. She rolled her eyes dramatically, he wore the absolutely styleless typical brown Jedi robes that hadn't really been updated since the days of the Old Republic. But, she reflected, exotic flowers were more easily noticed when one was placed in the middle of a desert. She smiled and tossed her head, scrolling further down the screen, every so often pausing to enlarge something or cross-reference data.
She felt the passing breeze of someone stalking heavily past, accompanied by an air of extreme annoyance as the next terminal over was suddenly occupied. She watched him for a moment or two out of the corner of her eye. Perhaps he was attempting to hack into the system as the Head Librarian had been so infuriating. However, policy exists for a reason. And if he had not been able to produce credentials...
"What is so important that you would risk creating an incident and drawing notice to yourself?" she spoke quietly, her voice melodious, pitched so as not to disturb anyone other than the intended recipient. A faint smell of cherry blossom fragrance hovered around her. "Surely, if your intent is nefarious, you have now brought down upon yourself the interest one would think you would rather avoid?"
Seemingly intent upon her own data terminal she scrolled down further. Devlin Dewe had once gone to Coruscant for help. Unlike herself, he'd found it. And then, isolated himself upon Ossus. She was intrigued. He believed his enemy would come to him here. She had hunted for hers, until thwarted by the Jedi. Well, a specific Jedi. Yet, in this instance the 'mercy' of the Jedi had proven far crueler and longer-lasting than her revenge would have been. Annikki Perala smiled a long slow smile, satisfied.

The man didn't look up at the woman as he spoke, but instead stared at the screen as the data rolled across the screen...and then grinned wide when the entire screen froze and turned red. Reclining in his chair and propping up his boots on the terminals keyboard, the man gave a wry grin at the woman along with a snort.
"Whats so important? Justice. As for nefarious...Nah. Well, maybe. You assume of course that I'm wanting to avoid others interests."
Just as he finished a pair of security officers rounded the corner, and walked up to the man - the two flanked an older man dressed in a guards uniform. Together, the trio came to a stop next to the man, and the older man shook his head slowly.
=Head of Security= "What is it with Jedi and sealed documents? Come on, we've got to escort you to holding...don't give us trouble or we'll have to get a master down here. And believe me, you do NOT want that."
With a wide smile, the man flashed his hologram again, and gave a wry smile at the head of securities disparaging look.
=Head of Security= "Oh gods...your'e the Investigator from Coruscant?"
The man winked at the female guardsmen that flanked the older gentleman, before turning his attention to the head of security once more.
"Indeed I am sir; Baylan Nakova, Investigator, at your service. You've been denying meeting me for...how long now? Three days? I'm glad we can finally meet."
The head of security gave Baylan a disgusted look, and slowly shook his head.
=Head of Security= "So you caused a scene and broke into a computer terminal just to get past my secretary?"
Baylan shrugged, before setting his feet back on the ground and leaning forward - not paying attention to the dirt and mud he left on the terminals keyboard.
"Yup. Now, under directive order -"
He was cut off by the head of security.
=Head of Security= "Yeah yeah yeah, directive thirty six, 'Investigators shall have level three access...' here."
Rummaging around for a second, the man brought out a datapad and spent a few minutes tapping out instruction. After a moment, the terminal in front of Baylan unlocked - and a report displayed itself on the screen.
=Head of Security= "There. Enjoy."
Turning, the Head of Security began to stomp off, but not before Baylan threw in a parting shot.
"Oh, and sir? Next time you think a city investigator doesn't have the, well, balls, to call you out on jurisdiction? Remember me. You'll have a copy of my complaint to your department on low performance tomorrow morning."
The head of security turned beet red, but only glowered at Baylan before stomping off out of the library. With a smirk, Baylan began reading over the report...

Jaecyn landed near the library. Upon shutting down his fighter, and exiting, he proceeded inside at a rather furious clip, almost on the brink of running. He stopped for no one, on his way in. He guarded his thoughts from everyone, closing his mind to all that would try to sense what he had to do, as no one needed to know yet.
Upon reaching the elevator to the library's vault, he sets up a system wide lockout protocol that only he could disable, gets in and heads to the vault.

Fascinating. So, he was Baylan, a Jedi Investigator from Coruscant. And he was acting in a most un-Jedi-like fashion in the middle of a Jedi Academy among people who should have been his cohorts. She considered. What sort of game was he playing at she wondered. She'd just closed down her own data-terminal and turned to address him, when someone went literally sprinting past into the depths of the Library. And...he was shutting everyone away in the Force too.
She made a decision and got up quickly. "Do you have any idea who that was? Or what he's doing here?" Whatever it was, he certainly did not want an audience.
She held out her right hand, "I'm Annikki Perala, by the way."

Baylan was a...complicated individual. He prescribed to the newer Jedi code as outlined by Master Skywalker:
Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy. Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect. Jedi respect all life, in any form. Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy. Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.
He saw the older Jedi code as inherently flawed...the emotionless, the mental distancing, as ultimately distancing the Jedi from the commoner - the very beings they sought to protect. He firmly believed this is what ultimately led to the destruction of the Old republic Jedi, indeed, led to the near annihilation of their ancient order. That was an unforgivable transgression - something that should never be repeated. He knew though, that many Jedi didn't prescribe to the newer codes...they clung to the older tenets and the ancient rites. That was fine...for those that sat in council towers, and instructors who taught others. But for Jedi guardians, Jedi peacekeepers, and Jedi Investigators...sentients who worked with common sentients everyday, who sometimes had to use force, guile, deception, infiltration, and myriad other skills more suited to a police force than a Jedi - that emotional connection was vital to not only performing their law enforcement duties, but also something even more vital; helping the common sentient have faith and trust in their Jedi protectors. The new order didn't need distant monks in towers...they needed visible and down to earth servicemen willing to serve beside law agencies. That wasn't to say Baylan threw the Jedi ways out the window though...there was a high degree mental conditioning that he maintained, as well as a high level of emotional awareness - allowing emotions also meant keeping a watchful eye on them to make sure they didn't go overboard. At his core...Baylan was a Jedi, dedicated to protect and serve, use his Jedi abilities to protect and defend, to respect life, and to continually improve himself through training and study. Perhaps, something he struggled with a little more than others...here, among the...monks...he found it hard to be cordial. They seemed so intent to emulate the old Jedi...
Baylan's thoughts flickered to a halt as a man practically stampeded his way through the library, making his way speedily towards the main vaults. What was even more unusual was his closed mind - while most minds were guarded, this one was completely closed...to the point of drawing attention to himself. With a frown, Baylan silently watched the man as he sped by - noticing that the Jedi woman from before did the same as well.
"Nice to meet you Miss, I'm Baylan Nakova. And no...I don't....but he feels very suspicious. I don't like it."
Standing, Baylan shook her hand as he stood, gesturing towards a few rows of bookshelves that seemed to parallel the mans path.

After spending many, many hours in the greater depths of the library's keep, Jaecyn finally emerges from it. A stern, driven look upon face, and an aura of purposed resolve about him, he makes way for where ever it was that Devlin was. Before then, however, he was met by fellow members of this world's governing council, whom he had contacted earlier. They discussed mentally, beyond the ways of any curious people nearby, a subject of some considerable importance. One that, if dealt with by any means appropriately, could change the course of the galaxy forever, hopefully for the better.
The expressions of all in the small meeting was not a light one, it did show a matter of great concern to the planet, and even the outlying systems. Even so, it seemed that, whatever was discussed, there were plans in motion to handle it.
Each member walked away when it was finished. Again, mentally closed to all who passed, as to not draw concern, and more importantly, not to rouse suspicion or hint at to what was going on. From there, Jaecyn proceeded immediately to Devlin's position.
"The Galaxy will thank us for this." Jaecyn thought. His personal contemplations did bring a small smile to an otherwise determined expression.

Devlin walks into the library and lowers his hood. He looks around.
Quiet as usual. He liked that. Better than the alternative. Too often he'd seen his home ravaged from the stores in these walls. Perhaps one day the Jedi would beat the Sith back far enough that they wouldn't have to deal with incursions, invasions, and intruders.
He approaches the closest terminal and begins searching for information on Keda, Crix, Shili, and Corvat. He rubs his chin.
"Hmm..."

Devlin walks away from his console and over to Annika and Baylan.
Though he didn't know them yet, not even their names, he could sense they were Jedi. Well, as much as any time Sith came to the library, they searched the selves with lightsabers ignited.
He smiles at the pair.
"Finding everything okay?"

A CZ-series business/communications droid clanks hurriedly into the Great Jedi Library.
"Master Dewe! Master Dewe!"
The droid staggers up to the Jedi near the table.
Interruptions never ceased.
Devlin turns from the other Jedi and smiles tiredly at his droid.
"What is it now, CZ?"
"The Mandalorians are on Yavin. They've begun attacking from their blockade."
Devlin raises an eyebrow.
"The reports are verified?"
CZ-9 nods.
"Multiple accounts indicate--"
"Has the fleet remained in orbit?"
"Hyperspace vectors indicate various jump points from Yavin. It is a varied staging point, sir."
"And the target?"
"I'd rather not guess, sir."
Devlin sighs.
"Fine. What are the most likely candidates?"
"Felucia, the Cron Drift, Lianna, the Tion Cluster, sir."
"And if the rumors are true? If the Mand'alore wants to begin a purge of force users?"
CZ-9 shrugged helplessly.
"In a word..."
Here.
Devlin turns to Talon.
"We need to prepare for this Mandalorian crusade. It might just reach us."
It was too much to hope that the Mandalorians would be satisfied with ransacking Yavin. But news of the blockade had only reached Devlin a couple hours ago. Perhaps the Mand'alore was more zealous than the Jedil first believed. Or had Yavin fallen?

Of Course, Master.
The Battle Master's Padawan takes out a Data pad and with a few keystrokes, The Praxeum goes on High Alert. He also sends a message to the ODF to help speed along Preparations.
The Lights in the Library turn a slight Reddish-hue and pulsate in a slow steady rhythm. The Library Staff begin the upload of the entire contents of the Library to the designated Safety Location.
The Vault is in now in lockdown and it's multiple Blast door entrance begins is start to close and seal. The Library staff remain to guard and protect while the Praxeum Security partol the points of entry.

Devlin raises an eyebrow as the lights flash.
"Overkill, perhaps, my Padawan?"
Though there was a vague feeling of something lurking. He hadn't been able to shake for some time. Perhaps it had started with the news of Yavin; but if he was honest with himself, Devlin would admit that it began before that. But were the Mandalorians the root cause or was something deeper stirring? There was no way to tell at the moment; not without more evidence.
He smirks at Talon.
"There are many vectors from Yavin, Talon. We are but one. Still, it cannot hurt to prepare."
He longed to meditate. To focus on the Force and discern the lingering wariness he felt. But there wasn't time. Not if he was going to help prepare.
"Tell me, Talon, what do you feel?"
He was curious if more Jedi felt a growing unease; but wanted to determine if it began before Yavin or after. He just didn't know how, yet. However, a plan was beginning to form.

A Sigh escapes his lips. He looks at his Master with an expression of concern.
It feels like the Day I woke up and the Praxeum was under seige and I escaped to the jungle. It feels like the morning of the Sith approaching, It is almost a brooding sense...as if somethnng on the horizon waits to happen. When we CZ gave the report, I have a bad feeling...and they have come for Ossus before. I-
He looks down at the floor with a sense of unease and through the bond they share...it is not about him, but he fears for the young ones that are left here. He does not want them to go through what he did, before He and Devlin met.
Just feel like they are coming...and if they are, then we should make sure the students are safe.

Devlin nods.
"I agree."
He places a hand on Talon's shoulder.
"Your feelings serve you well, Talon. Do not doubt them. Our students are our first priority. They must be. After all, this is a school, first and foremost."
He removes his hand and rubs his chin.
"Someone is always coming to Ossus. This place has withstood many attacks and will stand against many more. Still, let us prepare."

After all, this is a school, first and foremost."He removes his hand and rubs his chin."Someone is always coming to Ossus. This place has withstood many attacks and will stand against many more. Still, let us prepare." Jaecyn walked in at a decent clip. His mind always swirling with plans, and plans within plans, what he senses, what he pieced together, what he foresees...He stands a mere couple of paces from the group of his fellow masters, and lifts his head from the scheming scowl he normally wears to a more optimistic look of readiness and bated call-to-action that he normally would have in anticipation of great events.Gentlemen, great events are upon us, and you all sense this. I know. Should battle befall us, and I suspect it will, I have a plan. With my trip to Yavin, unfortunately cut short, and all the things we have heard in the news and through diplomatic and intelligence circles, it would be well for us to expect a Mandalorian advance. Before then, however, they will send their spies and their assassins, to see what they could make of us, and possibly cut us down from the top.
I, personally, must assume that they have already sent some of them. It would be improper of us not to show them a good time. Jaecyn snickered at the thought of what he would do, given the chance to snuff out a few Mandalorians. Let them come here, see to it that they come here, once it is known for sure that there are any here. I will see to it that the ODF and my fellow Ysanna are ready, discreetly of course. Jaecyn looks around at the group, keeping up the mental work, subdued this time to account for their responses.
