[/ul] *Dexton pauses for a moment. The discourse was proving far more engaging than their discussions with Voss not so long ago. In many cases, upward promotion finds people floundering in positions which they're not qualified for. Hierarchies allow employees to rise to their level of incompetence. It is apparent that that isn't the case with the Grand Moff.*[/ul] *He doesn't have a chronometer on him, but Dexton estimates that all these events have unfolded in a matter of less than ten minutes. If that's the case, knowing Nola as he does, the way things unfold within the next increment of time like this will be critical.*

It would be unlikely, but people do sometimes do brash things. It happens. She has enjoyed the banter up to this point, but it was slowly growing tiresome. She checks her datapad, additional resources were ready. If they forced the issue, she wanted it decisive and painful. That is your choice, but the offer is slowly slipping away. You can choose to be more of a problem to try to escape or change the dynamic. Doing so will severely lower your worth to me, not something I would recomend.

Standash wanted to retort with "Then yell." but bit her tongue. Snark wasn't needed in this situation. If this situation would be resolved peacefully and for the greatest victory, she would have to play. I can't remove that until we know more. However you could go speak with your men and get them to come out. If you could offer a sign that you will return peacefully... Leave your helmet and weapons here. You can have 10 min to speak and get them all to come out peacefully.

[/ul] *A few things click into place for Dexton at this point.*
*First is that their collective identity, for now, hasn't been divulged. In the past, negotiations like this between Thyrsian clans would have asked solely for the solar pike as collateral to ensure the return of the envoy. In the past. Even since the unification of the Sunbringer, those disputes have all but disappeared. Standash had mentioned the possibility of a conversation with the ISB - Dexton does not know the meaning of the acronym, but the context of usage suggests some kind of intelligence outfit - and that may indeed change the situation, but for now they retain the advantage of the unknown.*
*Second is how keenly Standash is to resolve matters quickly. Thinking back to similar operations, where the Thyrsians had been hired on the other side, and an entrenched enemy was being surrounded and coerced to voluntarily disarm, the policing force had been pleased with a resolution that took place in a matter of hours. This event has been only a dozen or so minutes in the undertaking plus the time allocation for collecting his men, and the evolution of impatience in Standash's mannerisms impossible to miss as their short conversation took place. The crux comes in the insistence on Dexton to leave his helmet, but holding him to a ten minute time limit. Most soldiers with equipped chronometers are going to have those devices linked to their heads-up displays. Sure, he can ask his men, but how's he getting an initial time stamp? Or he can estimate ten minutes' passing, but then why assert the time limit in such a way? To minimize the potential for scheming is a sensible play, so it's reasonable to communicate a length of time, but the state of affairs leads Dexton to wonder whether her apparent desire for a hasty resolution might not lead to a misstep.*
*Third is the degree of autonomy being afforded in this process. But the meaning for it eludes him. A token of respect, perhaps that's the reason for it. Perhaps this validates the assertions of merit that Standash has sprinkled into their conversation. Perhaps it's a stellar journey being carefully navigated, and the imminent dawn may be feared lost by a careless choice. An indication of impunity, perhaps that's the reason. But that is incongruent with the other facts surrounding the situation. A trap, perhaps that's the reason. Ambush can never be discredited entirely, but it also can never be used as a rationale. The inability to detect evidence of a trap being set by the enemy does not imply that the enemy is better at deception than you are at detection. The logical contradiction is obvious, and hence one can only ever afford a limited degree of wariness to being duped. A resource question, perhaps that's the reason. But that is also dissonant. The list goes on and on. Dexton is not afforded the luxury of writing out an analysis, so he settles with Occam's razor and calls it a working theory.*
*He reaches his arm behind his back, to where his solar pike is affixed. Brandishing it in his open hand at mid-haft, he thumbs the power coil and holds it at arm's reach, rotating it in an almost ceremonial manner until it orients vertical, tip-down. Without breaking eye contact with Standash's projection, he lowers his arm, allowing the blade to make contact with the manmade floor. The now-superheated tip of the weapon pierces the ground, plunging a few inches into the surface, before a second flick of the thumb is used to extinguish its holy element. It thermalizes quickly with the cold bath around it, and within another beat Dexton has relinquished the weapon, which stands on its own. Reaching his other arm out, he plants the helmet he holds atop the pommel end of the pike, on display as one would do with a mannequin.*
*Then he turns from Standash and walks back toward the entrance of the Kuat Drive Yards business offices.*

She wasn't exactly planning on starting a chrono. Her point was do act quickly. She had grown tired of the stalemate, something needed to change one way or the other. This entire event had caused a breakdown of order. Shutting down production while things were addressed was costing Kuat more credits than most systems could generate. She was a patient woman, but only when it was needed. Back in the command center, she spoke to the coms director. Scale back the jamming, get me the lead officer on sceneThe trooper picks up his line,Lieutenant. Do not approach or engage unless you are under direct threat. Are the electronics and coms functioning as fear as you can tell on his helmet? Go open the channel, slowly.Coms, end jamming. Lets see if we can listen in on them...

The Ten held extreme influence in Kuat drive yards. And they did everything to accommodate the faction wielding authority over Kuat. Little changed from one powtter to the next and The Ten's concern was their people and business. Imperial designs on the institution never crossed hairs with the interests of the Kuati people. Hence a mutually beneficial relationship reigned. The group quietly walked the Yards. A Comm. sounded out several times. Orana opened her Comm. unit and listened. So the rumor mill was correct. She didn't - still didn't believe being run over by an SSD would kill the Old man. She muttered -Orana- "So much for faith

Standash walked around various places of the massive ship yard. this was two fold. First. the presence of the Grand Moff kept everyone on their toes, they worked harder knowing she was watching. Second, it was actually a chance for her to be alone with her thoughts. wondering the halls watching the droids and designers work was almost peaceful. Her presance was enough to inspire, she didn't really need to engage. Her guards were a step behind, more observant than their charge.

Standash was always impressed by the machines that were made here. These feats of engineering were, she had to admit, far beyond the scope of her mind. Like any child raised on an affluent world, she understood the basics of hyperspace and those physics, but she was no engineer. Knowing this, she was always on the look out for bright people. Despite this lack of understanding, she could watch these massive constructions take shape for hours. The orders were coming in very fast. New ships and ready replacement parts we being stockpiled. War was coming. She was a politician, but she was in charge of war machine worlds, her life would be changing soon.

The crews were beginning to notice things were changing. Overtime was being approved. Raw materials were coming in constantly, yet they weren't building up anywhere. Production was at its height. Standash had pushed the managers and directors but also stressed to them not to burn out their people. The First Order needed new ships, but they also needed well-produced ships. No real announcements had been made, there were some rumors that something was coming. Speculation was running wild, but the directors and administrators were working to keep people focused on the job.

Fleet movements were conducted over Kuat, as new orders were sent to specified ships from the Admirality. Gathering up at a meeting point, single Star Destroyers are called from the harbour, their destination set towards the inner regions of the Empire. Whether it was a tactical movement, indicating turmoil within the borders of the First Order or a callback towards other border regions within the Empire's territory was hard to tell for present spies from outside nations, who would watch the process. Yet it wouldn't necessarily ease up the cold conflict between the First Order and the Corellian Coalition, for it meant solely the calm before a potential storm.

Standash was having to spend more and more time on the ring. She could feel the nerves. Some were seizing the opportunity, others were letting things affect their work. She made a point of encouraging those that needed it. She also made a point to keep those focused from getting overworked. They weren't at war yet, people couldn't get burnt out yet.

Operation: Hammerfall - PreparationsAs the Obsidian Order grew upon Kuat, a number of workers across the Kuat Drive Yards joined the Order, seeking a different sense of community and spiritual fulfilment. As such, news came back to the Magisterium of the construction of a new class of warship known as the Mandator V-class Heavy Siege Dreadnought. Details about its design and projected completion were slowly trickled out and fed to the Obsidian Order. This information was then used to formulate and organise new plans to be executed

Operation: Hammerfall - Preparations
Work continued upon the Mandator V-class Heavy Siege Dreadnought project, with the ship nearing its completion phase. The last few hull plates and internal systems were being run and covered up. Pressure tests, weapon system tests, and the like were all being run as simultaneously given the vessels colossal size. Supplies would soon start being ferried across, preparing the Mandator V for its maiden voyage and its naming ceremony

Operation: Hammerfall - Infiltration Team
It was true that an infiltration Team had been dispatched to Kuat, with their allegiances owed to the Cabal that was at present launching a Coup on Coruscant. However, to whom they truly answered, was another matter entirely. But not one the Team aboard the Kuat Drive Yards was concerned about. For them, their concern was the sudden alarm klaxons that were going off and indicating that a full scale evacuation was underway. With a signal from their team leader, the Team tossed off their civilian attire and kitted themselves out with the gear they had smuggled aboard the Shipyards over the past weeks.
Armoured vests, gas masks, rifles, and all manner of kit was loaded up by each team member as they started working their way from Sector C2 all the way around to Sector E3 where the dock for the Mandator V was located. Each Over-sector consisted of 5 Sector's, which meant they had quite the distance to make in a short amount of time before the shipyards would lock down entirely and trap them. Thankfully the access passes they had managed to clone would allow them through the doors up to their destination

As the Wyvern-class Stealth Fighter and TIE/Co Conquistadors drew closer to the Drive Yards, a couple Trillizo-class Assault Shuttles and a handful of Martillo-class Missile Boats formed up to join in on the run. Laser fire from the AT-AT Walkers and the Gun Emplacements started to fill the void in an effort to repel the starfighters, but Fiora remained undaunted as they pushed on. Missiles launched to life from the Missile Boats and sped through the void of space and came down hard on their targets.
The Gun Emplacements were handily silenced by the first strikes, whilst the AT-AT's seemed to be a bit more resilient and taking a second or third hit to take them down. The Mini-Rocket Launchers aboard the Wyvern shifted up and fired off their own payloads to add to those from the Martillos. What they had to do brought Fiora no joy or feelings of triumph, for they were fighting and killing their own people. However, she also recognised the necessity for this strike. Thankfully with the evacuation underway, there would be limited civilian casualties and collateral.
Onwards they pushed, laser fire from the starfighters joining in to help soften up the defences as they moved around the ring of the Drive Yards having taken a wider berth around the defence fleet to avoid having to engage them. The Mandator V was well visible as they came around the curvature of the planet, its massive bridge sitting proud of the Drive Yards

Operation: Hammerfall - Infiltration Team
The Infiltration Team had kept pushing on through each Zone of each Sector on their path to the Mandator V, It took until they hit Sector D3 when they felt the rumble of explosions. A member of the Team pulled up their datapad that had been sliced into the Shipyards systems and noted the damage alerts Looks like the Ren have started their runs. Gun emplacements are going down all over the place. They're practically above us...
Pick up the pace! We can't let them get aboard before us! A resounding affirmative echoed across the Team before they took off at a run through the twisting and turning hallways of the Shipyards. Their access pass kept them going, allowing passage room to room, hallway to hallway, sector to sector. The group kept pushing on toward their target, hoping to make it to the Mandator before the Ren were done tearing through the Shipyard defences to get there. Maybe, just maybe, they might get lucky. Because if they didn't, they would be dead

Fiora brought the Wyvern low and close over the Shipyards, the Blaster Cannons spraying laser fire upon the emplacements and walkers, with the Conquistador's coming up with their own Laser Cannons. The Martillo's brought up the rear behind the Assault Shuttles and their massive host of missiles finished off anything that was still standing. But despite the resistance, she did not waver in her mission. The hulking shape of the Mandator V drew closer and closer as missiles fired from the Wyvern's spine.
Pulling back on the controls slightly the Wyvern lifted up and passed over the protruding section of the Shipyards and over the top of the hull of the Siege Breaker. She'd studied the design plans and thus knew the hangar bay entrance locations quite well. She banked the Fighter around and dipped down into the closest of the hull cut outs. The Wyvern transitioned to its landing configuration as it slid through the shielding before touching down as the TIE/CO's and the Assault Shuttles were following suit. The Tribune Guard, Fiora's Ren Squires, and a detachment of Purge Troopers spilled out into the hangar bay and formed out behind the Empress.
Almost immediately Hestia took just over half the Purge Troopers along with Lilith and headed for the bridge and reactor. Fiora took the rest and made for the docking arm through which people could board the Siege Breaker. Her saber hilt was in hand and thrummed to life as it was activated when the Infiltration Team turned a corner and appeared a short way down the corridor within the Shipyards. The Tribune Guard stood furthest back, in protective stances over the door while the archers drew a shot each. Arrayed in kneeling and prone positions were the Purge Troopers, with their weapons braced against themselves or the floor.
Fiora stood alone in front of them all clad in her armour with the twin blades ignited and casting a red glow across the black and silver material of her suit and the grey surfaces of the hallway. Without hesitation, the infiltrators fired their blasters as they tried to find cover behind crates that lead up to the door. But not a single shot touched Fiora as her Saberstaff spun in the air, deflecting the shots back at their point of origin or at the walls and roof. She had intended to give them a chance to surrender and confess their wrongdoings. But their action of firing upon her was as good an admission of guilt as any.
She walked forward slowly down the corridor, deflecting the blaster fire away as the distance between her and the Infiltration Team decreased. One of the team pulled out a Vibro-knife and tried charging her. A flash of red cut through the air, cutting mid way through his forearm with one blade, and through his neck in the second. Her approach kept on, with two team members rushing her this time. Fiora jumped forward, executing a spin as she spun the Saberstaff through the air and cut the mercenaries down. With their odds decreasing by the moment, the remaining members came at her all at once. Her Saber became a red blur as she deflected the incoming shots before their guns were abandoned and they fell back upon melee weapons.
Block. Spin. Slash. Block. Slash. Spin. Slash. Repeat.
She went through the motions, cutting each of them down with a detached casualness. She felt no anger or disdain toward them, they were just dong a job after all. She reserved those feelings for the people responsible for so much death and destruction.
As the last of the Team fell, Fiora turned back to her troops that had stood watching and waiting. With a gesture from the Empress, they broke formation and pulled back into the Mandator V as the second team under Hestia managed to secure their objectives and began bringing the Siege Breaker's systems online. Fiora crossed the boarding bridge, a flick of her hand activating the controls that pulled the tube back to the shipyards.
By the time she made her way up to the bridge of the Mandator, all systems were online and ready to go. The makeshift crew calling out ready statuses of various systems, including the shields, engines, and most importantly, the Auto-Cannons Take us out and begin acquiring targets on the Golan Stations. Single shots. We don't want to destroy them if we can avoid it... A series of affirmatives came back as the engines of the Siege Breaker flared to life and pushed the ship free of the dry dock...

Continued here...
Exactly the mindset of Vidarr. He worked with Erik before, personally, but there was always an off vibe about him. Seemed to know when to appear exactly, got plenty of the crew reported for suspicious and negative activity, causing him to rise quickly. It wasn't till Internal Security came some years on the job that they acquisitioned his specialties and expertise. Not even his superior, since Vidarr was Second Officer by that point, could even say why. Afterward, Erik's name was expunged from the roster records, as if he vanished. It wasn't till years later that Vidarr learned remotely of what happened and began to speculate.
The pair, and their Death Troopers, landed at a designated landing spot. Dressed in his Executive attire and shiny badge, Vidarr showed his forged credentials to Kuati Shipyard Security. This certainly made a few faces turn a bit pale. Like he had said, when the ISB came knocking, and especially one of the highly ranked ones, it was best to stay in line and not to say a word otherwise. They stepped through security and directed to Section C-3.
Walking that direction, Vidarr would pause at the entrance. There was evidence of fighting from the conflict prior. They were repairing, but still building ships. For both the Imperial Navy and other clients. Vidarr glanced about slowly before looking upward at the overseer offices. There were seven in total and relatively detached from the rest of the crew. Of the seven, three had lights on. Probably four retired, died, or otherwise.
...Death Troopers, set your rifles to stun mode.
The command was given as Vidarr headed for a turbolift and began to ascend with his party.
What weapons did you bring, Reya.

Reya showed her badge as well and was let through as well. Her heart statred to pound though as they neared section C-3, soon everything that they had prepared for would come to a head. It didn't help ease her nerves as the subject of weapons was brought up. I have my lightsaber, she patted it on her left hip, my blaster, on her right hip, and my vibro knife. she patted a little lower on her right leg, to indicate it was tucked into her boot. She swallowed again, trying to calm herself, to stop her heart from pounding right out of her chest. It would be fine, she told herself, Vidarr would make sure of it... right?
