Fascinated by new things as Arden often was he listened intently to Ailyn, there was something sentient about her even if she was synthetic. He made no notion of having noticed it when he entered and now that she leaned closer to him he still made no notion of knowing.
"My dear, you can not base your knowledge of the Jedi simply on those you have encountered. We are not all the same nor are we all meant to be. As with all things no two are alike in every way, despite the fact that we all serve the same cause and seek the same goals or even agree on the issues at hand, we are still every bit the individual person that existed before the training."
he looks to Cade as he continues
"Though the training has changed drastically over the years. Would it surprise you to learn that there is no longer an issue of one being to old to begin the training? Or that attachment is no longer banned outright? Sure we discourage certain attachments of an unhealthy nature, but Jedi in this New Order are permitted to love as they see fit and wed when that love warrants such an act. It used to be one could not have a relationship of that sort because you never knew where you would be assigned or if you would return but now, things have changed. When we encounter a Jedi couple we strive to assign them together so that they may use their bonds to increase their powers for the greater good. So far it has been highly successful."
He finishes his tea, hands the cup to a droid and turns back to Ailyn
"Now my dear, wont you try something?"
he motions to a plate of baked goods another droid has just arrived with.

Ailyn glances at the tray of food. "I don't really eat." She return her gaze to Arden. "Oh, I'm aware that each Jedi is differant. I've met a lot more than you might think..." She lowers her head into her hans as if she has a headache and her voice changes, abruptly including a faint robotic sound. "Error. Error. File access restricted. Error. AI lacks clearance to edit settings. Error. Requires permission reset from member of the... Error. Disabling file access." She shakes head, and her voice returns to normal. "That... was unpleasant..." Cade, having heard Ailyn's programming glitch, comes back to the table. "What happened?" Ailyn looks up at him. "Nothing serious. It seems that at some point someone restricted access to the complete list of files on Jedi or force-users I've interacted with. I got some flickers from the locked files, but the few fragments I got made no sense. Something about "The Twelve", but my accessible files contain no data on anything under that designation." She winces as she says the word "Twelve". "Even thinking about that fragment hurts..."

"Interesting."
Arden gets up from the console and opens a hidden door in the far wall, revealing yet another computer terminal, this one slightly well used and clearly not an original part of the ship. He flips a switch and allows the system a few moments to warm up and smiles as the computer's voice speaks to him.
"Jedi archive unit 10110-B online. How may I assist you?"
The terminal speaks in a monotone robotic fashion, anyone ever having cause to visit the library of the Temple on Coruscant prior to the purge would recognize the terminal and it's function.
"Good morning archive, Authorization Arden Brandwyn, access code one nine five four two eight Mychi. Respond."
"Access code accepted, Arden Brandwyn padawan to Jedi Master Warek Mychi. How may I assist you?"
"I wish you to access all Jedi archives referencing 'The Twelve'.
"Computing... Searching... Information restricted... Access code invalid per request, an alert has been sent to the appropriate level of the Order."
with that the terminal shuts itself off, Arden flips the switch several times but only gets an error message on the display screen each time.
"Most interesting indeed. Tell me Cade, where did you find this most impressive AI?"

The final time Arden flips the search switch, a new error message appears on the screen. "Error. Temple Records: Incomplete. Deduction: Temple computer core has received damage. Restoring gatekeeper matrixes. AI: Devereaux matrix destroyed. Destruction date: Two hundred thousand years after galaxy creation. Destruction cause: Rakata invasion. Scanning for alternate sources. AI: Forgotten Lord matrix intact. Activating AI Forgotten Lord"
A partially corrupted gatekeeper hologram of a cloaked and hooded figure appears. "Enclave Gatekeeper: Forgotten Lord has be<static>ivated by repeated search of keywords. Last file access: Year one hundred thous<static>er galaxy creation. File status: File tran<static>nd all <static>ory banks purged, save for thi<static>ning. Access to records of The Twelve may onl<static>nsealed by a member of <static>ve. The information was c<static>ained in advanced psuedo-artificial intelligence <static>yn. Seek the Death-Lord for further inquiries." The ancient hologram fades away before any questions can be asked of it.

Cade looks over as the old terminal activates with the cryptic message. "Well, that wasn't at all creepy..." Cade looks over at Arden. "I was about fifteen years old. My parents had taken me to Dantooine, on an archaeological expedition into the ruins where the original Jedi Enclave had been. While they were busy examining what was left of the secondary sub-level, I accidentally found a hidden panel, so I want inside. It had hidden an ancient tunnel, which, after following for the better part of the day, lead me to an ornate massive door. All I can clearly remember about it is that my family crest was inscribed on it, among other designs." He taps the bird insignia on his chest-plate. "When I touched it, the doors opened, revealing a room with a number of seats arranged around a console. I don't recall exactly how many though. As I approached, Ailyn activated. We've been working together ever since, although she doesn't remember what function she served or why she was placed down there." Ailyn rubs her forehead like someone struggling to remember something important. "This is maddening... That brought back fragments of memories, but they're so... incomplete... Holes in my memories... Forgotten Lord was... a... records AI, based on..." She shakes her head. "The memories are literally right there, but I can't unseal it. He was the primary resource for the Coruscant Enclave, but I don't remember how I know that. Cade, when you found me, I recall my last interaction was a shutdown order, implemented by... that last name that Forgotten Lord said. My programming is preventing me from speaking it."

Arden sits back in a chair and strokes his beard thoughtfully.
"Well now, it appears we have a bit of a mystery on our hands. Anyone up for an adventure?"
He turns and looks past his guests, out at the crew and the Admiral that have become almost frozen by these recent events. Admiral Walsh enters and shuts the doors behind him.
"Master Arden, couldn't you have shut the damn doors before doing all that? Now I've got crewmen thinking we're on some death voyage..."
"My dear Admiral, I apologize for the mental state of your men it was... most unfortunate. But you cannot deny the feelings you have of going off on an adventure to locate lost history, I myself am even feeling a bit excited..."
"Be that as it may Arden, it would mean a trip back to Dantooine, and you remember the welcome we got the last time we went there."
"Admiral, have the fleet plot a course for Dantooine and orbit just outside of the planets sensor range. Prepare the watchman for a trip to Alderaan, there is something I need to get first. You have your orders, now please see to them."
"Aye sir."
With that Walsh leaves and begins making the travel preparations.
"Now my friends, I don;t suppose I need to ask if you wish to come along."
Arden thought back to his time on Dantooine, and how they had rebuilt the original ruins, watched it all be destroyed by a Sith armada, forcing the CUF to flee the planet... He recalled what it was like to return there and see the destruction of all they had built, but also how it felt to rebuild it once more. They had sent every worker they could muster to rebuild and refortify the enclave on Dantooine, then they turned it over to Masters Starfall and Holt (Jesse Holt having been a padawan of Arden's on Dantooine through the crisis) and then Arden and Murdock had set off into the galaxy to restore balance, with Murdock going to Haruun Kal and rebuilding the temple in which they now called home while Arden had gone to Telos IV and taken over duties as headmaster there.

Arden steps out of the room and taps his foot on the floor, pressing a small foot plate that activates his chair which rises from a concealed compartment in the floor. Arden sits in his seat, presses a button on his arm rest and makes a ship wide announcement.
"Admiral, I will be assuming command of the watchman until our arrival at Alderaan, feel free to relax a bit. (button press) All hands, prepare for light speed. We will rendezvous with the rest of the fleet on the outskirts of the Dantooine system, Arden out. (Releases button) Off we go. Navigation and helm, take me to Alderaan with all possible haste."
With the commands given and orders issued the fleet moves out of the system, passing the Kal Corp spacedocks as they go. The Watchman makes the jump in one direction as the rest of the fleet goes another...

The Rage Fleet exited hyperspace above the planet in full defensive stance, shields raised to maximum and weapons poised and ready to fire. The Horror of the Rim headed the delta formation with the four Ardents arrayed, two on each side. Above the plane of the ships formation was the Corona-class frigate and below the Ardents was the Agave-class Picket ship. Both of the smaller ships were there to guard the upper and lower flanks of the larger ships. No fighters or smaller support ships had been launched but they were on full alert and ready to be deployed should the enemy make a hostile move.
On board the bridge of the Horror of the Rim, Yasmir was stood close to the view ports, almost brooding as she thought about the situation. About ten feet behind her the figure of Captain Kobayashi, who lead the less than successful raid that had lead them here, was in chains, his face bloody and beaten. He was flanked by two of the most despicable and hated beings in the fleet, Yasmir's torturers.
“So where are they Captain!?”
Yasmir said in her barely contained rage. She was extremely angry that she had to drag her fleet all the way out here to this back-water planet just to talk to some petty raiders. If she had been in command of the mission, she would have wiped out the enemy and returned with the loot, none of the complication.
“I-I, I don't know Mi-Lady!”
The Captain looked nervously to the beings that flanked him, afraid they would beat him some more for his lack of knowledge. Yasmir spared him this time but if she needed to go to the planets surface for this negotiation, she would be most displeased.
“Scan the planet, hold formation and prepare to launch the patrol craft. If the scans show nothing I want them to sweep around the planet!”
The ships in the formation began an intensive scanning sweep of the planet and the orbital space.

This meeting takes place several weeks after FO is revealed at Dantooine.
A Brayl-class bulk freighter exited hyperspace, directly aft of the Rage Fleet. It's shields are up, in case anyone should be jumpy, and it likes there may be several candidates for that award today. From her place in the captain's chair, Maela requests a channel be opened with the Rage Fleet, laughing at the ludicrous display of might, thinking of the credits wasted by having them here instead of plundering the space ways as they aught to be. As the channel is opened the mirth is still easily heard in her voice.
Well hello there Rage Fleet, this is Maela Birdget, aboard the Lewdicrous, here to negotiate the opening of business account as I understand it. What a delightful welcome you've prepared, all this durasteel pussy right in my view screen. Tell me do you always start negotiations like this?
The crew unanimously snickered at her antics, half certain it would get them all killed, but enjoying the joke and the implications, far to much to really care. Besides, they were all as good as dead anyway, so what did they have left to lose? The Lewdicrous carried a cargo of vaious arms and munitions, since the Rage Fleet had been so desperate to obtain that last shipment, it seemed like a suitable investment for the opening deposit. The ship itself however was a stock model, and completely unarmed.

The Fleets sensors had detected the freighters arrival to the fleet's aft. As per their standing orders the Corona and the Agave immediately made sharp turns to face the threat. Yasmir was initially annoyed that the enemy, as she always referred to any force not hers, had got the drop on her. However that feeling soon faded when the report on the ship class came in. The smallest ship in her fleet could deal with this freighter, that at best was modified with only light weaponry.
“Remove him from the bridge, I will deal with him later.”
Yasmir waves her hand at Captain Kobayashi and her most loyal minions drag him from the bridge. The Captain made no sound, knowing he would only be beaten more however his face was grimaced with fear.
“Order the Ardent's out of the system, we don't need them here. Have them report to RV point one and await my arrival.”
The four Ardent-class fast frigates began to break formation and angle themselves for a jump out of the system. As this was happening the Horror of the Rim made a slow and purposeful turn to starboard, presenting her broadside to the enemy. During the turn the enemy comm message was played over the bridge speaker system. Yasmir was not pleased by this message, even though she had the upper hand, she had been made to look the fool.
“Scan the enemy ship intensely I want to know everything about that ship. Order the Agave to prepare the gravity-well projector, I do not want this bitch leaving the system until I'm done with her!”
::Good day to you too Maela, my name is Yasmir and I am here to listen to what you have to say. Choose your words carefully for if I am displeased with them, they will be your last!::
The Horror completed her starboard turn as the Ardent's all vanished from real-space around the planet.

Meala giggled at Yasmir's reply, silly old fashioned pirate, all bluster and bluff followed shorty by blaster and blade, she tried not too, but really it just bubbled out of her.
My, I'd heard you liked your panties tight, but that's quite a wad you've got there Yasmir, and if these are to be my last words I'll try to make them memorable. more giggling The Grey Court is interesting in opening an embassy of sorts with the Bloodrage Pirates, It seems wasteful to burn resources try to muscle other out when local security is tightening up already, what with the new First Order rising and the Republic crumbling, everyone is getting awfully scared. And it seemed prudent to the Grey Court to establish a strong arm, willing to protect the wealthy and influential, for a price. But even the Grey Court is not so powerful that it can challenge the First Order alone, so certain precautions need to be made.
The first they'd like to offer a gesture of good will and mutual prosperity to the Bloodrage Pirates, this gesture consists of this ship and everything it holds. We had a significant surplus of small arms and munitions which your last representative seemed so desperate to get a hold of, so the hold is packed with all sorts of highly functional goodies for your rapidly blossoming boarding and raiding forces. I'm sure understand how essential good tools are to a profitable penetration, Yasmir. Well, that's the first point, what do you have to say in response?

The First Order is far from here, their reach is not as long as you think. They would not send a battle group, if they had a whole one spare, all the way out here for you and your little band.
Yasmir signals one of her bridge crew to prepare the tractor beams on the Horror. They will accept the gift of the ship and arms, of course. Whether they would give anything back, well now, that would be telling, wouldn't it!?
What kind of "embassy" do you envisage?
Yasmir began to slowly pace towards the rear of the bridge. She often paced when she was talking on the comm to someone, though the conversations were usually not this long.

True the first order was far from us, and this entire quarter of the galaxy, but their rapid growth made the GC uncertain as to how long this would remain so. Also with the local governments getting antsy about piracy and local warlords they were devoting a lot of resources into defensive measures that proved to make operations in the area more tedious if nothing else. Thankfully the GC had enough influence in the sector that the increased security didn't pose a threat to their profits. And it would prove convenient in keeping interloping pirates searching for better spaceways to hunt. Still the local warlords could be a significant problem, if things didn't take stabilize in the region the war lords might well tear this corner of space apart in their desperation to secure their borders and maybe grab some apparently easy to grab resources... GC didn't have a great deal of heavy fire power like the Rage Fleet, but it did have a plethora of smaller vessels, allowing them to be in more places, doing more jobs, but less fighting with actual militaries. They hoped to gain a significant partnership with the rage fleet, gaining access to heavier muscle and supplying small arms and other material needs for the crews, as there were plenty of crews being looted by the GC and a great deal of things they lost, would prove useful to others. Especially when some of the crews were desperate enough to sign on just to stay alive.
Bridget considered the latest of Yasmir's numerous queries. And decided that playing with the woman was just to much fun, and so a straight answer, while available, would not be forthcoming. How then should she phrase her reply? Bridgett smiles and cheerily responds as brightly and sweetly as she can.
Well I suppose that's up to you Yasmir. You've been granted a boon by the Grey Court. How would you like to respond?

“Fire the ion cannons on the target vessel!”
The tactical officer nodded as he powered up the starboard ion cannons. Within a matter of seconds they had reached full power and released their volley upon the Grey Court freighter. After the discharge the weapons were readied again for another salvo if necessary. Yasmir smirked, the right corner of her mouth curling up around the side of her nose. She also chuckled in her own little satisfied way. She hoped that the communication system on the cargo ship was still functional, otherwise the situation would not end well for the crew.
I grow tired of these games Maela. Either your superiors have an idea in mind, which you will communicate to me, or I will board your vessel and flush you and your crew out of the airlock. The choice is yours, either way I get the ship and weapons.
Yasmir had now lost all patience with the situation, as evident from opening fire. If this did not go well then Arkan may be forced to send someone else to discuss with the Grey Court but with a more challenging set of circumstances. That would be very unfortunate for Maela and her crew, if she had any.

The charging of the ion weapons was not unnoticed, and Bridgett sighed, and ordered an emergency shut down of all systems. The Ion blasts tore through the freighter's shields and bit into the hull. With no active systems only a few systems were rendered completely useless, though the rest had to be manually reset, and rebooted. Which took a bit. Maela pulled her personal commlink out, and turned it on in time to catch most of the message. How wonderfully dense this captain was, still, she was probably a decent enough pirate, though why Bloodrage had sent this petulant bitch to be his negotiator she could not properly fathom. Still, this was what she'd been sent to deal with, so she'd deal with it as best she could.
Stupid bitch! You're destroying your own ship, and it's cargo! Yes they had a few ideas, but they are open minded enough to accept suggestions, unlike yourself I see. Even hutts don't blow their own ships to bits, what's wrong with you woman? Have you no sense for market value? You had a perfectly functional ship and cargo now, because of your idiocy, Yasmir, you're going to have to repair the ship if you intend to use it again! It would seem the Grey Court is better off sundering everything you are instead of trying to help you make a better profit in your schemes. Though I see now that you're just a lackey, a worthless hound that must be kept on a tight leash. You want to waste your gift on your arrogance and pride, very well, I hope Bloodrage rewards you well for your blindness.
Bridgett's venom and irritation with Yasmir was clear in every word. Yasmir had already been told the ship and it's contents were hers, or rather bloodrage's possession and she still decided to damage the craft unnecessarily, and then threaten to board the craft forcibly. Did the bitch not understand what a gift was? Bridgett was quite peeved and decided that if Yasmir was intent on damaging the goods, then damaged goods would be all she got.

Yasmir looks over the sensor reports from the ion volley. It looks like the ship had time to power down before the blast, probably for the best. The shields had stood no chance and the Executioner knew she had complete control of the situation. This pleased the Echani and she calmly replied to the freighter Captain as she paced up and down the central bridge walkway.
Let me educate you, Maela, as a warm welcome to the word of piracy. You are clearly in-experienced in the more ruthless aspects of the galaxy and the criminal elements. You do not just blindly accept a gift from someone who, not too long ago, was shooting at you! You may have forgotten our organisations little scuffle near Varonat but I have not. You claim your cargo hold is full of weapons, the perfect cover to pack that little disposable ship with explosives and take revenge on a clearly more superior force. That would be quite the boon for your leaders. You might not even know this is their plan, a member of your crew could be the psycho with the switch.
Sewing descension on the enemy ship was not Yasmir's primary intention but this accusation might cause a little unrest to anyone hearing it. She was genuinely trying to explain her position to the newcomer to space combat. She had reached the back end of the bridge once again and span on her heels to begin another pass to the viewing screens at the forward area.
I'm not sure what your job was before you were given that little ship but out here in the big-bad of space, the person with the bigger ship wins. I have three ships, all bigger than yours so you should not have been trying my patience. The only reason you are still alive is that The Captain has instructed me to conclude these negotiations with the best possible outcome. He trusts me with this fleet and I have not let him down, nor do I intend to. Now, as for these discussions, you mentioned an Embassy of sorts, do you have a permanent base? Either a typical land-based headquarters or some sort of mothership will do. I think a physical embassy with staff would be the best way to facilitate our relationship. What do you think?
Yasmir paused in her pacing, glancing down into the control pit on the bridge. She was directing her gaze at the tactical officers responsible for the weapons on the ship. She will have use for them soon, either to power down the ion cannons or fire another volley. That was up to Maela!

Maela really was rather annoyed with Yasmir, she'd done many things, but had been on the cushier side of the outlaws and fringes of society, so she couldn't empathize with the woman's hardships, but she did understand paranoia, and could see why it might be a useful trait in a pirate commander. So she decided to try and help the woman better understand the situation, as she clearly needed to feel in charge, so perhaps it was time to tell her just how in charge she had been from the very beginning.
I see I wasn't clear enough in the first place. Let's try this again. First, play back my initial explanation, and you will find I said that "they'd like to offer a gesture of good will and mutual prosperity to the Bloodrage Pirates, this gesture consists of this ship and everything it holds." Since you missed the clever nuances, let me elaborate, and then you might understand my position. Everything this ship holds, including myself, belongs to Arkan Bloodrage. I have been an escort for the pleasure of it, and an accountant by necessity and to ease the pleasure of my other duties. Unfortunately for myself, a series of unfortunate events has led to my being part of this delightful exchange. As things stand, I sit locked in the bridge unable to do more than issue simple commands. The crew, such as it is, is comprised of old droids who've been programmed to follow my orders only if they stand to profit Arkan Bloodrage.
When you ping the ship, with a simple text file containing his name, you'll find the ship's computer slaving itself to your own vessel, and will have more control that I've ever had over it. Now, would you please stop being so damned daft, and get this gift to it's intended owner? Or will you destroy Arkan's gift in your zeal? Not that the Grey Court cares mind you, and yes they have a base, though I am not privy to it's location. You'll find in the ship's computer instructions for indicating designated targets within a set of co-ordinates. And no I don't know what those co-ordinates are. But from what I was instructed I presume they're of a mind to be as unobtrusive as possible. A manned embassy may be to trusting for pirates such as yourself and the Grey Court alike, they intend to keep a dedicated comm line open for communication with Arkan and his commanders.
Anything beyond that will likely take time to develop, they're only real request is that someone answer should they call, so that in the future, skirmishes such as the one you just referred to can be avoided in the future. If you have a particular request to make of them give them a call and they will answer. I can't guarantee they'll comply with any demands, but you'll get an answer from the Grey Court to be sure, and they'll abide by their decision, they're playing the long game here, and betrayal doesn't get an organization very far in the long run.
Will there be any other questions Admiral Yasmir?
Maela doubted that Yasmir was an admiral, but figured it would be better to over estimate than underestimate, and besides she had no clue what else to call someone who commanded several ships, the only ranks she knew were Admiral, Captain and Private; and she was pretty sure captains only commanded a single vessel. Well, that was about the best she could do, If Yasmir still wanted to blast the ship to bits and sift the remains for what she could salvage that was her choice, but she literally had complete control of the ship, if she wanted it, and there wasn't a thing Maela could do about it. Which wasn't to say that she wasn't ready to have the ship vented on her, it was to be expected, though she'd initially thought the precautions silly, she was glad the GC had insisted upon them now. Her mouth did have a way of running off on her sometimes...

Yasmir listened intently to the long awaited full explanation of the situation. It was a very clever way of sending someone a gift, giving them full control to do whatever they want with it, literally. She still had her suspicions but if she didn't have those, she would be nothing. The Executioner muted the comm-channel as she turned to the bridge crew.
“Ping the ship with that text file and let me know if we have control.”
The lead tactical officer had been listening to the communication and immediately sent the text file he'd prepared only a few seconds ago to the Grey Court ship. He then waited at another console that showed the sensor readings for the ship. If Maela was telling the truth then this console should be able to remotely control the freighter. Yasmir wondered what Arkan would do with this Maela? She had heard stories of those that had fallen into the Pirate Captain's possession before and she'd even had to dispose of one of their bodies before. That was an image that had motivated her more than any of her training ever could.
"We have control Mistress."
The tactical officer barked loudly for the whole bridge to hear. Yasmir smile crept slowly towards each ear and eventually she threw her head back, flicking her pitch black hair into the air behind her and laughing. The crew were used to this, she often laughed when she knew she'd won an engagement. This continued for a few seconds before the commlink was un-muted.
Welcome to the Bloodrage Pirates Maela. The Plunder will escort you to Tatooine where you will meet your new owner. You will not enjoy your first meeting and I doubt I will see you again!
Yasmir cut the commlink and the Agave-class picket ship, The Plunder, began to move towards the Grey Court freighter. The freighter was remotely piloted to about turn and lay in a course for Tatooine. Both ships disappeared from sight as Yasmir began to plot her next move. She would stay in orbit for now but raiding the planet was an option open to her. She sent her orders to the scattered Ardent-class Fast Frigates to seek out local hyperlanes and begin intermittent raiding with their mass-shadow mines.

Maela resigned herself to the completion of the transaction. Though she did begin to wonder if she shouldn't have antagonized Yasmir into killing her quickly... Well to late for that now, and she the droids probably would have blocked her transmissions if she'd tired that anyway. She sat in her captain's chair, the ship's only living soul, and completely at the mercy of complete strangers... She'd known this wasn't going to end well, but she didn't really know how badly it could go either.
