*It had been another session of rigorous training for Ka'ra, who took her training very seriously, especially this time of her life where she was supposed to be preparing herself for the verd'goten at the age of thirteen. The vode were good help, particularly Conall and the aliit'alor, but having no individual trainer was less than she had hoped for.
Still, she did her best, pushing herself in each of her training sessions and doing her best to improve. She would usually relax afterward in the citadel cantina, as she did now. She sat in a booth, leaned up against the corner where the seat and the wall met, bare feet propped up on the table, her helmet and gauntlets on the seat beside her and her boots beneath her seat. Her hair, mostly her bangs, was still damp with sweat and stuck to her forehead as she munched on a plate of fried potatoes, a glass of tihaar beside it of course.
Overall, she just gave the appearance of someone who just didn't care, and since no one told her to keep her feet off the table—bare or otherwise—she in fact did not care. It was a good way to relax after intense training, and tonight she was contemplating letting loose a little more than usual. Maybe. The last few days had been quite rough and she thought she felt the need to unwind a bit... but not too much. She'd see what happened, she supposed.*

Sidara walked in and looked around. At the end of the bar there were a few empty stools. She walked over and took a seat. She signaled to the bar droid and he walked over.
Tihaar and a carton of cigarettes please. Leave the bottle here in front of me.
He moved quickly and delivered. Sidara tossed some credits on the bar and opened the bottle . She tore open the carton of cigarettes and tucked a cigarette between her lips. She lit it and took a deep drag off of it.
Sid, you are an idiot. You completely walked away from your clan and focused on yourself instead of making sure they were taken care of. How are they going to see you as their leader if you don't act like one. Get your act together, woman. Stop crying like a baby. You were fine by yourself before you met Corr... why in the force are you falling apart now. She poured herself some tihaar and drank. She looked down at the ring on her finger and sighed.
Fine, I can do this without you Corr. I don't have a choice.

Cathaoir made his way into the Cantina casting a glance to the intoxicated young Ka'ra that in a booth by herself, legs kicked up like she owned the place. He couldn't even help but let out a laugh at the sight. At the bar, be attended to by the service droid there, he noticed one of the newly arrived Vhett members, Sidara Vercopa. He acknowledge her at the bar, but didn't say a word as it was evident, she'd not want the attention. So instead, he sat upon a stool two spots down from her motioning the a droid over to take his order.
Before long, the droid arrived with a bottle of Tihaar in hand, knowing what Cathaoir wanted without him even having to speak a word and sliding it to him. He placed a few credits on the bar and rose from where he sat, turning in the direction of Ta'ra at a booth in the corner.
"You own the place now, do you?" Cathaoir spoke to Ka'ra, having approached her from behind, likely spooking her when he spoke. It was a joke this time, but most of the time, he was the only one who said anything to her about her appearance. He really didn't mind that she was the way she was, but he would have rather her carried herself in a more professional manner. After all, appearances were the first thing people had to judge others on.
Circling around now, he seated himself on the other side of Ka'ra, filling his mug to the top with the liquid contents or his bottle.

*Ka'ra didn't actually spook easily. Perhaps if she were intoxicated, but she was in fact only on her first drink, so that wasn't the case... yet? Regardless, she looked up at the voice, grinning at the comment an wiggling her toes emphatically.* Cut me some slack, aliit'alor, I've kriffin' worn myself out. *Regardless, when he chose to join her at the table, she decided to remove her feet and sit up more properly, perhaps with some minor reluctance. She hadn't expected anyone to come sit with her, else she would have kept her feet up, but now that she had a guest... well, that was just rude.
She tossed her head in order to flick away a strand of hair away from her face, then did a double take toward the bar. There was a woman there, one she didn't recognize, but was definitely Mando. Curious, she looked back up at Cathaoir.* Who's the new girl?

"Ha! Slack?" He smiled and let out a hardy laugh. "You're say that as if you're my flesh and blood or something."
Indeed they were all one in the same as members of the clan, but his joke was aimed more toward her being his own biologically. That, he believed, could never be true. He'd only ever had a single child. A son that died the same as his wife during child birth.
He downed the contents of the mug he had filled, proceeding to pour himself another immediately after. Then, Ka'ra questioned. She was asking of the new arrival. The woman of the Vhett Clan. It was true in that that is who, or what, she was, but beyond that, he really didn't know anything of her. Only a few memories of her at Corr's side some time ago. Way before Ashrah's crusade and the many that died in it. He pushed the thoughts of that pointless war behind him as dwelling on it only stirred his anger. So many died during it. For a cause that was considered noble by many, but pointless in the end. So much pain and sorrow. So much vengeance desired against those who'd stripped the lives of his kin and of the Mando'Ade as a whole, but could do nothing to abate at this moment. The few that had survived the conflict had to live with its effects, now. The ever persistent memories of what would come of such troubles should they be taken to once more in the future.
His focus turned back to Ka'ra and by now she might have been able to pick up on his frustration of the past as his teeth ground in his mouth and his brow furrowed for a moment. None of which had been in response of the woman, but could have been easily mistaken for having been so. "Her?" He exclaimed rhetorically not needing the reassurance. "That there is Sidara Vercopa. She is of Clan Vhett and has come to visit with several of the clan."

Mereel and Tireya preceded the influx of Clan Vhett Mandalorians into the cantina, moving to the bar next to Sidara. Casting a seasoned eye around the place as he moved Mereel noted Cathaoir seated with a female child in a booth over to the right as well as a few other occupants. The place was quiet as far as cantina's went, something that was soon to change he thought ruefully. As they reached the bar he leaned close to Sidara briefly.
"Boys and girls are billeted and should be along shortly."
He caught the eye of the server and gestured to Sidara's Tihaar and held up two fingers.
"Anything you need?"
He watched as the server laid out a glass each in front of himself and Tireya, filling each with the fiery Mandalorian liquor. He chopped a hand to get the bottle left and reached for his drink as he awaited a response from Sidara.

*At the flesh and blood crack, Ka'ra couldn't resist a grin.* Aliit ori'shya tal'din, buir. *She joked about calling him father, but after the words left her mouth, she almost regretted it. She tried not to, for Mando'ade cherished family above all, leading to that proverb, and countless Mandalorian families were composed of non-blood relatives. But she could still remember her birth parents, including her father, and, despite the emphasis on family before bloodline, she still almost felt it an insult to his memory to call someone else buir...
When she realized she was frowning, she gripped her glass and raised it, stopping just before it met her lips and peering at the bottle she had poured the glass from.* Kriff it. *She set the glass down and snatched up the bottle, tipping it back and taking a swig. After the pleasant burning feeling in her mouth passed, she set the bottle down and shook her head. Strong stuff it was, and what she needed to get her mind off of things.
However, when she returned her attention to the aliit'alor, he seemed to be frustrated with something. She frowned, but he was already answering her question about who the newcomer was: Sidara Vercopa of Clan Vhett. And she apparently wasn't the only member of the clan to pay them a visit. Ka'ra turned to scrutinize the woman further a moment, before two others joined her at the bar, one unfamiliar; likely another Clan Vhett member. She looked back to Cathaoir.* Well, that's nice. I guess. *Suddenly she hiccuped and brought a hand to her mouth. Too much alcohol already? Time to pace herself... She didn't want to set a bad example for Clan Ordo, though she was disappointed that this meant she wouldn't be able to let loose... Probably.*

Sidara took a long drag of a fresh cigarette and looked at it. "You know Mereel, I had quit these. I quit drinking too. It bothered Corr. My smoking especially. I don't know if he noticed that I had given it up. He might not even know that I had done it for him. After he disappeared, I just started up again like I had never quit."
She looked at him and squinted. "I dropped the ball back there. I know I did. I am a fish out of water here. I reacted. I didn't think. What the hell is wrong with me. I am a better warrior than this."
She poured a drink for Mereel and pushed the glass toward him. "Thank you for taking care of everyone, and for dealing with my nonsense. I am certain it wasn't in your job description."

The wily veteran paused in the act of raising his glass to his lips, a far away look coming across his face. He seemed retrospective, something that was totally at odds with his normal character. His lip quirked into a sad smile and he nodded his head once as if responding to some unseen and unheard entity.
"It is one thing to be a good soldier, and another to be a good leader, and neither makes you a good person..."
He sounded like he was quoting someone and he raised the glass in silent salute before draining the fiery liquid.
"Such things come with time and patience, or they don't."
He shrugged his shoulders as he set the glass down and reached for the bottle. He was about to refill his glass when he paused and looked abashed. Stepping back slightly he gestured to Tireya.
"Where are my manners!? Tireya this is Sidara. Sidara this is Tireya, though you both probably know that from the hangar..."
He suddenly looked at a loss, as if this much social interaction was new ground for him. His mouth opened and closed, then opened again as it sought furiously for the appropriate witticism. Some clever phrase that would break ice and what not. Unfortunately the Mando handbook didn't cover such things so he settled for an inarticulate grunt.

Sidara nodded toward her. "Tireya. My apologies as well. Please, sit. Join us. Maybe you can fill us in on what's happening here lately."
Sid motioned to the bar droid to bring another bottle. She looked at Mereel. "As for you. They will come. I owe him that much." She motioned for him to fill her glass too, and stubbed her cigarette out in the ashtray in front of her.
Tireya, thank you for your hospitality here.

He nodded and filled her glass before also topping up his own. The solemn look was gone now, replaced by one equally alien on his usually merry features. Something along the lines of whimsical. Finally he shook his head in an effort to banish the anchor to the past, dragging himself back to the present. With a glance over his shoulder he gestured with the bottle neck to where Cath sat with a young female.
"Perhaps we should go and join our host?"
He smiled, the look banishing the frown from earlier.
"An exchange in news may be quite welcome to all involved."

Sidara nodded her head in agreement and slid off her stool. She took her glass and turned to face the room.
Yes, we should do that. I am afraid I did not make a good first impression. I should rectify that. Please, Mereel, lead the way.
Sidara grabbed her cigarettes from the bar and waited for Mereel to lead her to their hosts.

Mereel in turn gestured for Tireya to precede them and the three made their way over to the booth in which Cathaoir sat with the young Mandalorian girl. Holding the bottle in one hands and his full glass in the other Mereel felt somewhat foolish for the second time this evening as he struggled to decide what he should do with the excess of booze than seemed to be all over the place. Settling for an as much dignified as possible incline of the head he smiled at the head of Clan Ordo.
"Su cuy'gar, al'verde. Mhi vore entye par gar morutar."

Tireya sat next to Mereel at the bar, pulling up a stood next to his. She didn't really say much as the evening proceeded on but accepted the glass of the fiery beverage, downing it nearly instantaneously. Seated two stools down to her right was Sidara, who she'd met previously in the hangar, but only for a very brief moment.
She poured herself another glass of the fiery Mandalorian delicacy from the bottle Mereel had gotten as he and Sidara spoke. She was just in the motion of filling it to the top when Mereel had turned and gestured toward her obviously introducing her further to Sidara, but regrettably, he had knocked the glass from her hands in doing so, causing the liquid to spill over the counter. Soon after the bar droid appeared with rag in hand and began to clean the mess. "There is no need for that, Sid," she said upon Sidara's apology. "You don't mind me calling you that, do you? If you would prefer I can call you Sidara."
She now reached with her arm to pick up her glass once more, shaking it off in some odd fashion before setting it upright once more on the counter. "And you're welcome. You're guests within our home and should expect no less from your host. Please, don't thank me too much for it; it's really been a pleasure to get to meet some of you all as I have now."
Before long, after Mereel and Sidara had discussed a few things that she'd turned her attention from, the the two got up and she with them, following over to table where Cathaoir and Ka'ra sat.
Cathaoir laughed at her [Ka'ra] comment smiling at her as a father would a daughter. He'd basically raised her since the passing of both her parents. And even loved her as such.
He poured himself another glass of the delicacy and downed it once more is another large gulp, then topped his glass off again. It took a lot to get him tipsy, yet alone drunk. Truth was, he'd never been to the point of being drunk. Possibly it had something to do with his bloodline. Maybe his body make up or his size. Who knew? But, in forty plus years of living he'd yet to experience what it was to be drunk, a tolerance which he had no explanation for.
It was then that he noticed Sidara, Tireya and Mereel get up from the bar and begin over their way.
"Do away with the thankful stuff until I've done something to be truly thankful for. Welcoming you into our home. Showing you around. Giving you a place to stay. Sharing drink and indulging in what we have to offer here should be expected. There is no need to thank for something which I should do to begin with. You are vode and by extension part of us." Cathaoir waved down one of the attendants who brought over a few bottles of tihaar and some platters piled high with all sorts of food, something which he'd spoken to the staff about prior to Tireya showing up with Mereel and the others.
When all was set out as it should be, food enough to feed fifty or so Mandalorians mouths and tables had been pulled together to better accommodate any who would want to sit together, Cathaoir spoke again. "Now the stage is set and the official welcoming can begin. Can't expect you lot to pay us and visit and not be properly taken care of."

*Ka'ra was at least pleased Cathaoir didn't seem to take offense at her father joke, but right now she was just trying to forget about it. Fortunately she might have the perfect opportunity; the newcomers were approaching them now, the man thanking Cathaoir for the hospitality, to which the aliit'alor responded that what he had done so far was nothing to thank him for.
Then suddenly Cathaoir gestured for an attendant, who brought to the table not only multiple bottles of tihaar, but a large portion of food as well. Ka'ra eyes widened, mostly at the tihaar, but the food was impressive as well. Was it time for a feast? It sure seemed that way. She grinned, though remained silent for the moment, taking another drink of her own tihaar, this time from the glass. She paused a moment as the liquid poured down her throat, blinking; didn't she just determine she needed to pace herself?! Oh boy, she could already feel the buzz coming on...*

It didn't take long for the commando's of Clan Vhett to gravitate to the cantina, the sound of food being prepared for them heard from all the way across that citadel. They mingled with the local Mandalorians as they jostled their way into seats at the table, already beginning to take their ease in the new surroundings. While still partially armoured they had all removed their helmets and only wore fatigues, armoured boots and the occasional chest plate. Seven females twenty three males, eighteen humans, four Duros, two Mirialan, two Twi'lek, two Falleen and Aqualish and a Nagai, they were a diverse lot but all united in the brotherhood of the Clan.
Mereel had sat down opposite Cathaoir, sliding in next to the young girl who had yet to be introduced. Setting the bottle down on the table and watching as tables were arranged and food brought forth, he smiled as he raised his glass in as Cath finished, nodding his head in salute.
"K'oyacyi!"
He drained his glass and set it down on the table with a thump, flashing a grin at Tireya.

Sid took a seat next to Mereel. He truly was better at all of this than she was. Sidara was used to being the silent one while Corr did all the negotiations. Sidara was better with weapons than words. Her mind was racing as she sat and listened to the men talk. She was going to take over as leader... there simply was no time to mourn the loss of her husband. Corr was gone and there wasn't anything she could do to bring him back.
Sidara lit another cigarette and filled her glass with Tihaar. She watched as her clan filtered in and started taking seats around them. This was her reality now, it was time to get used to it.
Sid took a deep breath and looked at her wedding band. "I am going to make you proud Corr'ika. I promise you that."

Cathaoir took a moment to look around, seeing that a vast number of Vhett clansmen had filed in to this point. Their array of colors, mixed with those that the Vode of Ordo wore made for a site that was almost humorous.
By now, all food and drink had been brought forth, including no fewer than ten bottles of tihaar alone. Much of the food was locally grown or hunted along the equatorial regions of the planet itself - the only part of the planet where vegetation grew and wildlife could be openly found; the rest of the planet was a barren desert save the occasional plant or critter that might skulk about the harsher terrain. Roasted. Boiled. Grilled. Stewed. It was all there, in different flavors and textures.
Cathaoir rose one final time, a stein filled with tihaar in his now raised right hand. "Vode," roared Cathaoir, in a voice that commanded attention. "Let us feast and revel now, Vhett and Ordo alike, for now is no time to dwell on past transgressions, but to look toward a future. A future in which we may shape to serve Kad and return to what it truly means to be Mandalorian."

At Cathoairs toast Mereel smiled and followed suit, casting a side-ways glance at Sidara. It was certainly not good to dwell on the past though sometimes such things were not so easy to discard. As he refilled his glass from one of the many bottles of Tihaar, exchanging a cheeky wink with Tireya as he also topped up her drink, Mereel leaned across the table somewhat, allowing his own voice to rise in volume somewhat.
"Let us mark respect for those that have departed to the Manda, without whom such occasions like this would be unlikely..."
He turned his gaze towards Cath and inclined his head slightly, a gesture of respect and thanks.
"Without Corr speaking towards unity among the clans, without his urgings that such a course was the way forward for all Mandalorians, we would not be here. He respected you as an aliit'or and as a vode. We are poorer without him and countless others that fell during the recent wars. Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la."
He raised his own glass high as the Mandalorians of Clan Vhett bellowed the words after him, likely joined by their Ordo contemporaries.
