After they have all taken their seats, food and drink having been ordered and delivered, Torin begins tucking into his meal as he answers Galaar's question, beginning with the broad strokes to make it easier to work their way towards the finer points, "Business of the Mand'alor. Explaining what he means, Torin goes on, Our Mand'alor has asked that I serve as wartime admiral, he lifts a hand in anticipation of concern that he might be here to assume such a role at present, A role which, as the title implies, I would assume only were the Mando'ade to find themselves at war. As for why I am here now, the Mand'alor and I felt it would benefit all Mando'ade to review the present state of the various Clan's fleets, with an eye towards making additions and improvements where required. The recent renewal of the production capacity of MandalMotors made possible by a greater sense of cooperation among the Clans, and the resources available to all due to that cooperation, there is no reason that we cannot begin making a concerted effort to ensure that all Clan's are as well equipped and outfitted as possible."
Taking a drink to give all that he has said a moment to settle in, Torin asks after the pause, "So, then, if there is anything that Clan Fett has a need or desire for where it's fleet is concerned, now is an ideal time to make it known."

Galaar moves his jaw slightly, listening to the words of Faelan. Seems the Mand'alor was either planning for war or was ensuring the state of the Mandalorian nation before further considerations. Clan Fett was slowly getting back on its feet. The Mandalorian Protectors and Journeyman Protectors were being trained thoroughly and were moving to their assigned positions throughout Mandalorian space. However, fleet wise... well, there was no hiding that from the wartime admiral.
Well, not something easy to hide, but Concord Dawn is being defended by a lone Crusader-class Corvette.
Galaar points above the three of them.
Not much else in terms of orbital defense. Been meaning to get something rolling in terms of a proper fleet... but been too focused on training the Protectors and getting them to their assigned positions throughout our territories.

Torin nods when Galaar has finished describing the current state of Concord Dawn's orbital defense and the perfectly understandable reason that it has remained as such. Lifting a hand, Torin says, "Well, I think that the Mand'alor will be able to help, as you said, get things rolling where establishing a greater fleet presence is concerned. Not wanting to get bogged down in too much detail, he explains, One of the current goals of the Mand'alor is getting MandalMotors up and running once more, with an eye towards ensuring that all clans have what they need to not only defend their homes, but also contribute to any coordinated Mando'ade actions, should the need arise."
Drumming his fingers on the table for a moment as he gathers his thoughts, Torin pauses before continuing, "Ships are only half of the equation, however. How are you set for personnel to command and crew a fleet? What size fleet and composition do you envision for Concord Dawn's defense? I can bring the matter to the Mand'alor's attention when I report in, and will let you know what kind of time frame seeing that you get what you require would involve. In the meantime, if you have no objection to the idea, I could see about deploying some of my clan's ships to Concord Dawn in the interim, not only to bolster your orbital defenses, but also to make themselves available in the event the Protectors have a need for training personnel to crew the ships of the fleet I believe the Mand'alor will be providing Concord Dawn at the earliest opportunity." The possibility of Concord Dawn coming under attack given the present state of affairs in the universe seems remote to Torin, but it never hurts to be prepared; the gesture could serve to promote just the kind of increased cooperation and camaraderie between clans that he and the Mand'alor hope to engender.

Galaar rubs his neck slightly, recalling why he never liked being a clan leader. But he couldn't let down his fellow Fetts as they trusted him to lead them. Question after question to answer. All of them need good answers and not half-assed ones. This was the appointed wartime admiral after all. Faelan would want his job thoroughly done, else someone would pay the price for not giving correct answers. Galaar leans forward in his chair, tapping the side of his helmet slightly.
More ships could be of use. The Spirit of Dxun has seen better days and I have probably strained her enough with my ventures. Surprised she is staying in one piece. Waiting for the day she spaces me for pushing her buttons and limits. The ship could use a thorough scrub and upgrade from the condition she is now.
Crew could use replacements, but there weren't enough spacefaring jobs. Galaar just didn't the means and funds since they were all being dedicated to the Protectors. However, there was a cadre being trained for when the need arises and it seems that need had finally come knocking.
I have the manpower to crew a fleet. Plenty on Concord Dawn needing jobs and desiring to join a fleet or starfighter assignment. Got a group being trained to replace some of the retiring members of my crew or as replacements in the future. As for fleet size, given we sit on the border, gonna need something strong and big. Concord Dawn may not be important to the naked eye, but its still the homeworld of the Fett clan. They will be wanting a good fleet protecting this place.
As for the offer by Faelan Bralor...
I guess a couple of ships would be alright, Admiral. Nothing too fancy is needed here presently.

Nodding after Galaar has given his answers, Torin says after pausing to begin planning how best to proceed with ensuring that the needs of Clan Fett on Concord Dawn are addressed in an expedient and efficient manner, grinning slightly as he makes a small joke in addressing the first point he speaks to, "Not to worry, I don't have anything too fancy in my fleet, so it sounds as though I will be able to provide what you need as an interim addition to Concord Dawn's orbital defenses. I can send a Kyramud-type battleship to act as a carrier for as many Bes'uliik starfightersI as I can spare, and a pair of Crusader-class corvettes to further expand the scope of your orbital patrols until a more permanent solution to your fleet situation is arranged after I meet with the Mand'alor. I'll have some engineers and materials send on the Kyramud as well, to look after repairing and refitting the Spirit of Dxun. I will send word to have the ships and personnel get underway once I depart, Torin concludes, adding, Hopefully, before too long we can make sure those fleet positions and starfighter assignments are available for those you have waiting to fill them."

Galaar would have to ensure Concord Dawn could provide with the additional garrison being deployed by Clan Bralor.
It seems your clan's ties with the Empire have truly paid off. With both them and the Mandalorian Assembly's own abilities, your clan has regained its power and capabilities quite fast. Its no wonder why you were made the wartime admiral, Aliit'ator Torin.
The Mandalorian picks up his glass to drink from it. Concord Dawn had the manpower for ships, but she never had the capabilities to craft her own warships. Mandalore the Architect had long desired to see the Mandalorian Navy be renewed as it was in the days of their own empire, but the Crusades had bled them dry and the predecessor had vanished. The new Mandalore had technology behind her and a drive for economics. Both Mandalores had ensured that they were rebuilding in the right direction this time. Although, there were those among the Fetts who desired to see war once more.
Give my thanks to the Mandalore on the matter of a clan navy. Once the details are squared away, I will have my officers begin training additional naval personnel. It will be nice to have this system protected given its proximity to the Mandalorian Assembly border.
There was a question though in the mind of the Mandalorian.
Torin, let's drop the business for a moment. I have a question I wish to ask you... concerning the present Mandalore.

Nodding to agree with Galaar's assertion that Clan Bralor has profited from it's relationship with the First Order; that relationship, in turn, having proven to benefit the Mando'ade as a whole, Torin muses humbly, "Our clan's jate'kara * has been favorable, yes. Not one to deny the role of individual will or vision where the matter of charting one's course or that of their clan is concerned, Torin adds a proviso to the sentiment, I believe that we can gotal'ur ** our ate'kara, by and large, however, when we parer, ja'hailir, *** and shereshir **** opportunities that we consciously strive towards or that present themselves."
Waving his unsolicited musing aside, Torin nods when asked to thank the Mand'alor on Clan Fett's behalf, listening as Galaar explains some of his plans. Taking a drink and leaning back in his chair when Galaar suggests that they set the subject of Concord Dawn's orbital defenses aside for the time, Torin motions towards his host to invite him to ask the question he wishes to ask, "What is it you want to ask?"
* fate ** make *** wait, watch **** seize

Galaar leans back, thinking for a moment as his eyes look upward.
Everyone remembers how Mandalore the Architect was a true patriot of our people. He wanted to see us united and strong as we were before... and to repair the damage left by Ashrah. If it wasn't for him, we would likely still be disunified. Likely swallowed up by foreign powers.
He remembered the young Mandalorian who came to his door and spoke of his vision for the Mandalorian clans. The dissolution of the autocratic Empire in favor of a more clan-based system. One where the Mandalore and the clans had an equal voice and were able to work together. True, the Mandalore still had supreme power, but the clans were stronger politically, thanks to this new system that resulted in the Assembly.
I know there are those who still view his successor as an outsider... She claims her people are Mandalorian, but I have heard how they are bred in tubes and augmented by gene multiplying. True, we once had clones of the Old Republic join us, but this is... different.
Galaar looks at Torin after speaking.
Tell me, truthfully, since you have worked directly with her, do you feel our current Mandalore care for the Mandalorians as the predecessor did or does she seem to still desire to protect and expand the interests of that Imperium of hers... even if it means putting the Assembly at a disadvantage? Are we citizens of the Mandalorian Assembly or merely a peaceful expansion of her personal influence?

Torin, not one to answer such a weighted question without giving it more than cursory thought, does not answer Galaar immediately, instead thinking back on his interactions with the Mand'alor, scrutinizing them anew in light of the nature of the question asked.
After he has concluded his internal examination, Torin shakes his head, no uncertainty in his tone as he says, "Nothing our Mand'alor has said or done suggests to me that she has any designs on using her position to benefit either herself or the Imperium. As for how her care for the Mando'ade compares to that of her predecessor, he holds his hands up in front of him, palms upward, with a frown that suggests he is reluctantly pointing out what he views as a harsh, bitter truth, she was willing to fight for the title where he set it aside and walked away from it when challenged. His influence and contributions to the present state of the Mando'ade, as you correctly say, were invaluable, and should not be forgotten, but the fact remains that his conviction, or perhaps his courage, wavered when he was challenged."
His expression indicates that Torin was gravely disappointed when the previous Mand'alor voluntarily stepped down and then subsequently vanished from the people he had helped set upon the path to their current strength, and yet he evidences no such sentiment as he says, "All of our Mand'alor's plans are aimed at strengthening the Mando'ade, vod. I believe that your concerns where her loyalties lay are unfounded."

Galaar looks over at Torin.
As a Mandalorian, it is everyone's right to be concerned. Especially after what we had endured under the declining leaders of the Mandalorian Empire. A new regime, a new leadership... I recall how the present Mandalore and others were once questioning the Architect. And yet his desires and designs were as pure as you say his successor is.
Galaar had seen enough people show good intentions, only to fall under a spell that changed everything. All still remembered how Ashrah willingly used the Mandalorians to his own personal gains and agendas. And there were those within the Fett clan that were worried about the Architect and show concern towards his successor. It was the nature of everyone to be concerned when changes were being made and when leadership abruptly alters.
My concerns may be unfounded now, but every leader is as vulnerable as the next, Torin. It is better to be worried and cautious than not to be.
The Mandalorian finishes his drink, setting down the glass. Galaar looks once more to Torin.
Relay my regards to the Mandalore. The galaxy is an unstable world beyond our territories and certainly, she is keeping her tabs on what's going on to ensure we keep our neutrality... for now. If she needs me, I am merely a holo-call away, al'verde Torin.

Standing when Galaar's words suggest that their meeting has come to its end, Torin holds out a hand and shakes firmly with him, assuring Galaar in Mando'a, "I never said that the need for a healthy sense of caution and concern were to be cast aside, vod," his tone perfectly balanced between the jocularity needed to make it clear he takes no offense in having been misunderstood and the somberness required to ensure that there is no lack of agreement between them that prudence demands a certain degree of caution and concern remain a part of the mindset of the wise.
As Molan shakes with Galaar, Torin says, "I will give the Mand'alor your regards, and send word to my fleet to deploy those ships I've promised you as soon as we get underway. The commander of the battlegroup will contact you personally when they arrive for your orders as to where you'd like them to establish their patrol routes, and I will let you know what the Mand'alor proposes to do about seeing that Concord Dawn has its own defense fleet after I meet with her. Nodding in farewell, Torin says, Ret'urcye mhi, vod," and then turns to begin the trip back to his ship, Molan offering Galaar a salute before falling into step behind Torin.

Arriving at the Mess Hall was much simpler than he had assumed. Though he could still feel the stares from onlookers burning holes in the back of his buy'ce. The citizens of this world were distrustful of him. And with good reason. His ancestors had tarnished his Clan's name. Rather permanently. And bearing the long forgotten Shriek-Hawk, or jai'galaar over his visor probably didn't help matters. Rolling his right shoulder back, allowing the armorweave cape slip to his back, the Mandalorian scanned the crowd, searching for Galaar Fett.

Galaar didn't make himself blend in the with the crowds. Scars told a story of his many hunts on Dxun and across the galaxy before becoming the leader of the Fett clan. As he played his hand on a table with some of the other Mandalorians and even some Devaronians, a horned native of Concord Dawn, one of his colleagues nudges him in the air and nods towards Brayark Vizsla who walked in. Galaar looks from a distance before setting his hand down, folding for now before rising from his seat. The other Fetts, the ones staring at the visitor, watched as Galaar approached the visiting Mandalorian.
For a moment, the Fett remains quiet as he walks up to Brayark. Then he turns, pointing to one of the patrons over at the bar. He raises two fingers, receiving a nod from the patron before Galaar gestures to an available table nearby.
Bold for a Vizsla to visit the world of Concord Dawn. Though I doubt you are foolish in your bold move, Aliit'ator Vizsla.
The patron walks over, setting down two glasses of Tihaar for the two seated Mandalorians before walking away.
What business do you have with me that requires an audience?

Ignoring the stares in his direction, and following Galaar to the vacant table, Brayark waits until the host is seated before seating himself. Removing his buy'ce and placing it off to his left, the lightly scarred, yet youthful face of Brayark can be seen. His blue eyes focused on the Mandalorian before him, rather than the others that were gawking. "Bold is a matter of opinion, vod. I come here strictly to talk with you. Nothing more, nothing less. I would try my hand at diplomacy, which is great when it works, but difficult when one is already perceived as a threat..." Trailing off, Brayark once again plucked an Iron Heart, formerly from Pre Vizsla's beskar, and slid it across the table as repeating what he had done a few weeks back with Clan Awaud. The Iron Heart itself was engraved with a hastily painted red jai'galaar mid dive. A sure-fire mention of why he was here without having to vocalize anything. "This is why I tread carefully, vod. Mandalorians have good memories. Even still...I am silently judged by those who look upon me for crimes I did not commit..." Brayark was unsure of how Galaar would react to what the Iron Heart represented. Death Watch. A rogue Mandalorian splinter group that more often than not, were labelled as terrorists due to their extreme actions. This was not how Brayark operated, nor would ever operate. Provided Galaar was willing to, at the very least, hear him out, he could explain everything in a calm and civilized manner. Though, he was starting to feel slightly uncomfortable. Whether he was overthinking the situation, or the other Fetts were beginning to circle him like sharks in chum-filled water, he wasn't able to discern at this time.

Galaar's eyes glance down at what was passed across the table to him. His gloved hand reaches down, picking up the Iron Heart. An ancient symbol within Mandalorian society. He views it quietly before looking at Brayark. He knew exactly what he meant and what this was symbolizing. The Fett sets down the Iron Heart and slides back to Vizsla, a silence persisting ever since he viewed the icon with his own eyes. It meant both good and bad, the best and worst... in this case, it meant something of extreme treachery if viewed in the right light. Yet, why had he come to the Fetts of all clans? Was he a fool or just a bold fool? That's what Galaar didn't understand entirely.
I remember my old brother, Cassus, one of our greatest Mandalores, wearing this. His is still somewhere in the Homestead... left behind when he vanished into the galaxy. It was a symbol of many things, interpreted differently from Mandalorian to Mandalorian.
He looks at Brayark with a questionable gaze. Before it slowly turned to a stone cold gaze.
Why have you come to the Fetts knowing our history, Vizsla?

Plucking the Iron Heart off the table and tucking it back into a compartment on his belt, Brayark reclines in the chair, listening to Galaar speak. He certainly wasn't wrong, about the tell-tale symbol of Death Watch. And then the Mandalorian's gaze turned cold as he posed to Brayark, a serious question. Leaning forward in his seat, he spoke to Galaar with conviction and devotion. "You, as well, are guilty of holding old grudges against our name. Granted, past iterations of Death Watch have done little in the way of making us the most trust-worthy lot, but I am different. If my actions label me a terrorist in any way, I need to rethink my strategy. I stand for removing the cancerous growth of pacifism that is currently plaguing our people. I stand for strength, honor, courage, kinship. Things that represent our foundations. That make up a strong, united people and terrifying adversaries..." Believing in what he stood for was the only reason he could speak with the conviction he had now. Because if it were anything less than true, at least in his eyes, he wouldn't have been here right now. "...and I oppose Clan Ordinii..." The Mandalorian added in. Openly stating that fact had the potential to end his 'recruitment' drive right then and there, as Clan Fett and the Protectors had been supporters of Aya Ordinii in her bid to become Mand'alor. Hence why he left his statement at that. If Galaar wanted to know more, he would ask. But Brayark needed to tread carefully here. One misplaced word, or ill spoken explanation was liable to end poorly.

The name of Ordinii caused some heads, nearby, to glance at the visiting Vizsla. Though Galaar had decided to support the present Mandalore to her status, he had done so in the hopes that she would divorce herself from her supposed Imperium and seek to make the Mandalorian nation great for the Mandalorian people. Yet, there was always a dark thought in his mind, one that questioned the motives and designs of the Mandalore. She still treasured her Imperium and sought to grant its benefits to the Mandalorian people rather than allowing the Mandalorians to build themselves. It was like... the Ordinii would be the ones who brought enlightenment to their cousins. Galaar had kept his disputes quiet though, focusing on training the Mandalorian and Journeyman Protectors.
What you call cancerous pacifism, I remember a Mandalore calling it a needed rest in order to rise again.
Galaar recalls the words of the former Mandalore, the Architect, who was the predecessor and the founder of the Assembly.
We were a tired people, Brayark. Ever since Cassus Fett and his more immediate successors, Mandalores had wasted our talents and resources on little gains. The back finally breaking under Ashrah, who called forth a crusade against force users... only to have our military might be spent and destroyed over Kuat, fighting a Sith nation. Our supposed Empire had become weak, our brothers and sisters desired rest, and yet... we broke apart.
Galaar picks up his tihaar glass, drinking it deeply. Mandalore the Architect, if only he was still around.
The Architect desired to reunify the clans, rebuild our nation, and seek the means to make us strong again. To that end, we needed peace. We needed respite in order to focus on ourselves rather than looking at the stars. Pacifism would mean that we would let others walk all over us. But look for yourself, Vizsla, we are growing stronger and you can see this.
Galaar looks with a hardened gaze at Brayark, rather unimpressed by how he viewed the Architect's original words and designs as a path of weakness. A warrior could only fight for so long before his arms and legs needed to rest. There was no such thing as a warrior that didn't need such respite after all. Even Mandalores wanted peace from time to time. A means to breathe before picking up the sword once more.
We still know strength, honor, courage, and kinship. Values that the Architect wanted to revive within us and was successful at doing so. But...
Galaar says calmly, looking directly at the Mandalorian.
Our standing Mandalore is not the Architect. Now is she?

As Galarr finally picked up his glass, so to did Brayark. Taking a drink, he shook his head and placed the half empty glass back on the table before speaking once more. "You misunderstand, Aliit'alor. I wholeheartedly supported the Architect. His vision was unmatched. Skilled and willing to better our people as a whole. No. Mand'alor Ordinii is my problem..." Picking up the glass and downing the rest of the contents, he places it back on the table, looking sternly at Galaar. "It is under Ordinii's rule that we chaff and weaken. All she cares about is her vaunted Imperium. Aya claims to have the best interests of the Mandalorian people at heart, yet she is too blinded by the Imperium. She puts their interests first, without consideration of the rest of the Assembly. We came together as an Assembly, to build each other up. To uplift ourselves, collectively, to a position of power again. Yet, whose power grows? I see paltry gifts to placate the clans while the Imperium grows exponentially. That's not putting the Mandalorian people first. That's putting self interest before the people..." Pausing there, before he got too carried away, the Mandalorian leans back in his chair, watching Galaar and allowing himself a moment to let the fervor in his voice disappear. "I have no interest in starting another crusade. I have no interest in waging war unless it directly affects one of our Clans. United, we are a terrifying force. One that would give even the Emperor himself a moment's pause. I do not want to see Mandalorian blood needlessly spilled for someone else's self interest. I am after the same things you are. Peace and prosperity to our people as a whole, vod. I am no terrorist. I have no intentions of striking fear into the hearts of our citizens. But I will strike fear into the hearts of the Ordinii, if it comes to that..." Still leaning back in his chair, he merely watched Galaar calmly. Now the ball was in his court, once again. So to speak.

It seemed Brayark was not aware of the goings of the wartime admiral, Torin Faelan, who was going around and understanding the capabilities of each clan. Torin assured him that the Mandalore's interests were with the Mandalorians and not that of the Imperium though. However, as Galaar had said, rulers were vulnerable to selfish ambitions. Disregarding the needs and ambitions of their people for something else entirely. He wondered if there was any deception in what the Mandalore had told Torin. Perhaps the Fett would never find out.
The Emperor? Did Brayark mean the ruler of the First Order? It was known that Clan Bralor had good relations with the Imperials, taking a lot of work from them as mercenaries in exchange for, what he had heard was, lucrative deals. High-quality military technology seemed to be the most common prize of these deals. Those Imperials didn't seem afraid of anyone, but he understood what Brayark meant nonetheless. He wanted to continue the dreams and designs of the Architect and see the Mandalorian Assembly prosper.
If it is your desire to do as the Architect did before, then why proclaim yourself as Death Watch? Do you seek to become Mandalore? Do you plan to support another? And what do you plan to do to the Ordinii if you can and do defeat them?
Galaar planned to pick this Mandalorians mind in order to understand his train of thought and plans.

At this, Brayark smirked. Death Watch had taken on a very different meaning. Or at least it had. Now, Brayark was more trying to return to the ancient ways of Death Watch, with a more modern twist. "Death Watch has always stood for our warrior heritage. Priding ourselves on being the absolute best we could be. Strict adherence to the Resol'nare. Aiding your clan and those of other clans. Building our future, together. Anything that threatens that becomes my fight. That is my struggle. That is why we are Death Watch once more." Brayark leaned forward, looking directly at Galaar. "I do not seek to become Mandalore. That is not my place. But I would support one. As for Ordinii...if they cooperated, the entire clan would be under surveillance and face restrictions and levies on everything and they would be forced back into adhering to the Resol'nare, as they should be doing already. Several reformations to the Supercommando Codex have been done by Clan Vizsla as well. Utilizing both, is how we would prosper as a people..." The Mandalorian continued to watch Galaar. The Supercommando Codex drew heavily from the Resol'nare, but also pushed against some of the warrior ways of the Mandalorian people. Refining that is what his clan had been doing, for some time now. Hopefully, what was being done would be viewed as acceptable to all Mandalorians. And, at some point, the Codex would be revealed and open to suggestions and even more refinement. But they weren't there yet. First, Ordinii had to be dealt with.
