*The Old man began to strangely fade away slowly. No grand gesture made, his presence simply dimmed until just like that he was gone. Yet his Darkness seemed to fill the air* Cormac grew still and silent, as he felt through the force the passing of An Tiarna Dubh."Faigh an tsíocháin i mbás nach bhféadfá sa saol, athair." He drained his drink and was silent another moment, before turning to Lamia."Very well, perhaps I shall. I thank you for your welcome Lady Lamia. I shall be going on a bit of junket soon, in search of some...items of academic value. Is there anything I may accomplish for you while I am gone?"

Aydyn raised an eyebrow at the mention of the Manaan's great whiskey. Aside from Kolto and fish he had not seen many of the exports of Manaan. He turned to bar keep. "Let me try this whiskey and see if has any bearing on my liver."
Aydyn bowed his head towards Cormac and Kaine in respect. "You didn't happen to see any of my nautolan scientists on your way here did you? I've been meaning to check in on them, since they are supposed to be figuring out pen construction. Unfortunately with those types, they are easily distracted..."

I've only just gotten settled in here on the planet. I am sure we can find them though. How are the plans coming on our project? Will we be up and running soon? I have some ideas for floating cucumber gardens too. I'm just waiting on a shipment of equipment and droids before we get started on it."

Aydyn nodded. "I can look into the cucumber hydroponics for sure. We seem to be moving along with the construction of the kolto facility- and the various side projects for salt extraction and the like. Overall it should be a zero waste facility. We could probably make a push into the rift for a larger operation once we get this one fully integrated."
Aydyn took a swig of the whiskey and frowned slightly at the flavor. His expectations had been too high. It wasn't bad he supposed, but he had hoped for some good smoke. Oh well. He shrugged. "I need to make sure the locals won't blow up any facility we try to push into the rift. We can draw more flies with honey than piss and vinegar."

Lamia nodded at Aydyn. He had legitimate concerns, however, Lamia was certain none of that would be a problem.
"We shouldn't have any interference with the locals. They don't seem too fussed about us moving in. After all this was my home for many many years. I think we are in a good spot to start building. I know it's been slow going. My shipment of equipment and droids is due at any moment. I will keep you posted on the progress of that as well. Until then we make due with what we have."

Finished with his drink, Kaine noticed the old man. There was a big galaxy out there full of men, young and old. This one he recognized; shabla galaxy was still a small place, so it seemed at times.Plates rattling a little, the Australis Alor left the bar and made his way across to face An Tiarna Dubh. Kaine met the old man's eyes and posed the question most relevant. Casual tones, not lacking respect, but not dripping with welcome either."Why are you here?" Could be a dozen reasons, Kaine considered. A drink. Boredom. Shenanigans. Whimsy. The Mandalorian was more curious than he was affronted by the old man's presence. An Tiarna Dubh

*The Old man spent a long moment ingesting the words before responding. His speech was low & the words fell soft from lips* "A chara, I scarcely know myself....." *Chin lifting he continued* "A drink I guess. Might I be interrupting something?"

Kaine didn't know the speech of the Iron Fists; though he thought it sounded like a very old language indeed. He'd gotten his answer, and a fair one at that. The Mandalorian nodded to the old warrior. He'd earned a fair answer in Kaine's estimation. Remembering the lost and looking to the future. What the shab else was there to drink to, Kaine figured. Too many good friends passed too soon, and many scars carried by those who survived and went on.
The Vegemites; the new group that he had been a part of creating; were all sorts, their motivations and methods as differing as grains of sand on a beach. What brought them together was mutual respect, and the desire to see that respect shared. Each had their own reasons for becoming a part of the group, and Kaine could only truly speak to his own. He wanted a galaxy free of Empires and bureaucrats, free of central control, where individual rights spoke louder than all others. He wanted that for his family, he wanted it for his children, for his people, and for Clan Australis. And if he were totally honest with himself, he still enjoyed a good fight, and showing the younger generation, most especially his own kids, that the old Boar hadn't lost his touch just yet.
For the present moment, he wanted to see what the old man was about. Kaine whistled, and a pretty young blue skinned twi'lek server came over. Tihaar. Kaine said to the girl, and looked to the other man. A drink, then.An Tiarna Dubh

*The ghoul took the drink in a heartbeat. & fancy that; service with a smile. Slugging back the contents the Ancient warrior marvelled, saying aloud but in the main to himself* "Yes, yes; the Dead may indeed converse with the living.... More importantly they can drink."

Kaine looked a little closer at the old man and realised the truth of it. Ah well, he'd seen some strange osik over the years, even died himself once; though that was a long kriffing story and not one he cared to revisit. The Australis Alor took his own tihaar and gulped the fiery liquid down in one go.A question of his own then; less to the point, but for his personal curiosity. You've been there, you've seen it all, done it all, or near enough. Is this all there is in the end? Kaine asked, not unkindly.
Kaine wasn't dead yet himself, though having recently passed sixty years, he wasn't feeling young much either. An Tiarna Dubh

Eyes down he spoke slow & deliberate "Nothing like what I see here a chara." & with those simple words the Old man walked slowly to his long empty seat outside the doors of The Mortus & looked longingly out at the majestic sea

Kaine shrugged. No more answers here, then. As the old man wandered off, Kaine wandered over to the edge of the sea. It would probably piss the Selkath off, but Kaine could give a fig for the opinion of the shabla Selkath.
With a quick look over his shoulder, he unzipped and added his own little sample to the great ocean of Manaan. After a few beverages, it was nice to relax the bladder. Whistling innocently, Kaine finished his business, repackaged things downstairs, and wandered back into the Mortus.

The Old man sat watching. A noble group, these beings were.... Oh how he wished to freely pee in the sacred waters of Manaan once again..... Abruptly he bellowed. "Ceart!!!" & he watched the festivities*

Aydyn threw back the remainder of his scotch. "Very well. I should get back to the city to make sure Avarath hasn't fully unraveled and that my other business partners haven't let too much slide while I was visiting." He gave her a bow. "I Appreciate your time, Lordess Lamia." He made his way out of the Mortus leaving a healthy tip and credits for the next round of drinks.

*The business around him carried on. The Pub set on the beachhead he had built made a pretty penny. But The Mortus was always more about brawls & murder. & plotting & planning. & the fortress he built after Mortus had blessed him with the planet.... Left a mark here. One none could remove.... & that was the past. Ashes to ashes..... The Ancient warrior sat, bottle in hand & watched out over the sea wondering about battles old & the uncertain future. Dropping in thought he pondered the weight of battles old against an uncertain future.... With a sigh he took another pull from the bottle. The Old man seemed to face in & out of view but stubbornly held his place. A single thought rang inside his head "Mortus a chara - where are you? Mortus.... Mortus...." The hail was inner but strong. The Old man took another swig & lot a cigatette. An Tarnia screamed to the high heavens* AnTiarna: "Mortus!!! A chara!!! I need you!"

*A ripple some rippled through The Old man. Slapped him across the face might be more accurate. A powerful entity that had not privileged his soul feeler him with strength. Then the voice struck him like thunder. A smile creeped across An Tiarna's face. He responded inwardly* -A chara.... I am exhausted- *Those words communicated were made transparent by his figure yet simultaneously they straightened his up his back. The Old man muttered* "This situation could get nuclear....."

*Just meters from The Mortus eat a GAT 12 Skipray Blastboat. Three men worked cleaning the exterior of the ship. The man-made beach was an impressive piece of work. & The Old man 's gaze slowly swept the area. Suddenly he burst out* An Tirana - "Don't know what makes me more sick:" *Right index finger swinging accented each word * An Tirana - "Some scum sniveling because you shot somebody in the back of the head, or...." * Massive left hand sweeping backward* "The endless finger pointing you get for telling someone to shoot somebody in the back of the head." *It became so quiet one could hear a pin drop*

Cormac felt, rather than heard or saw, the presence of his father's spirit. He smirked despite himself. "The old bastard never could just pack it in." Cormac drained his drink and excused himself, going outside to see his father meeting with another ghostly being. Manaan was a place of deep magic, that much was clear. Cormac suspected it had something to do with the kolto, but he had not yet been able to devote the energy to such research. Soon. he told himself, as he exited the door.
He stood before the shade of the man who had been both his father and his king, and he knelt before him, holding up his lightsaber on a palm as a show of obeisance. "Dia dhuit, ard ri."
