*Raine looked at Eimhin and shook her head at his response. He was just like their father already. She began to open cupboards in an effort to find something. Grabbing a box of oatmeal, deciding that it was good enough. Setting Eimhin down, she set to work making breakfast. Soon she had two bowls ready and sitting on the table. She helped her brother into his chair and handed him a spoon.* "Careful, it may be hot."

"Ugh, Lorcan says with a frown as, zipping up his flightsuit as he enters the kitchen and sees his children's breakfast choice, That looks horrible, he continues while opening the fridge and removing a carton of eggs. I hope, he says cheerily while cracking several eggs into a glass, you two don't spend most of the day on the pot after eating that. I have big plans. Exciting plans. Drinking the eggs down in a single gulp and smacking his lips in satisfaction after slamming the glass down on the counter, Lorcan jogs in place as he says, Hurry up then, I think we should start the day with some light PT. Run a mile or two or five. Sound good? Tilting his head to the side as he watches Raine eating for a moment, Lorcan says, Maybe we should toss some big rocks in a rucksack, have you run with that. Great exercise that. Turning his gaze to Eimhin, he suggests, You can carry Alastair for a start, and then grins as he says, And I'll carry you when you get tired, then winks as he tells Raine, You're on your own, no getting tired allowed for you."
Waving a hand impatiently, Lorcan says cheerfully, "Come on then, finish up and get ready to run! Shooting lessons after the run, and then we'll. . ." continuing to list off the things he has planned for the day, Lorcan jogs into the living room, anxious to begin the day.

"It's oatmeal. Why is that gross?"*She finished her food and set the bowl on the counter. So they were going running. That sounded easy enough, except the rucksack full of rocks part. As her dad rambled on, she remembered what she was supposed to tell him, about her being force sensitive. She stopped and turned to Lorcan.* "Umm..buir. Can I talk to you for a minute? Alone. There's something I need to tell you."

"Well, Lorcan replies when asked what is gross about oatmeal, for one thing, it looks like something that came out of someone's a . . . smiling brightly as he looks at Eimhin and it occurs to him that he will probably want to start watching what he says as much as he can, Lorcan lifts his hands as though surrendering and says, You know what, never mind. I changed my mind, he gives two thumbs up as he reverses his previous position with the ease of a natural born liar, Oatmeal rocks! So good for you too," he adds, rubbing his stomach to encourage Eimhin to continue eating the oatmeal, which, disgusting as it looks to him personally, is healthy enough.
Looking more than a little concerned, or perhaps even fearful of what might be coming when Raine asks to talk with him alone, Lorcan nods slowly as he says in a tone far from certain, "Suuuuure buddy. Hooking a thumb over a shoulder towards the living area of the vheh'yaim to suggest they head out there, Lorcan grins cheerily as he tells Eimhin, Back in a mo' lil'dude. Enjoy that hearty, nutritious, yummy oatmeal! Steeling himself for some teenaged girl issue he will probably not want to hear about, Lorcan motions towards a couch to suggest Raine take a seat, puts on brave, confident face he expects a girl would want to see on her father, and nods for her to spit it out as he says cheerfully, Alright buddy, what is it you need to tell me? Lay it on me, I'm here for you."

*Raine rolls her eyes at her dad's response about oatmeal, then the complete reversal on said response. She followed Lorcan into the living room and sat on the couch. For some reason telling her buir that she was force sensitive seemed harder than telling her uncle. Maybe it was the fact that he was her father.* "Well, it has to do with the Verd'goten, and how it just got a little more difficult." *Raine held her knees tightly to keep her hands from fidgitng, but that didn't stop her feet from fidgitng and showing her nervousness.* "Because I'm...kinda...force sensitive. A lot force sensitive, actually." *Her nerves were getting the better of her. Standing up, she walked over to her dad and placed her forehead against his chest.*"I should have told you sooner, I'm sorry buir."

*Eimhin eagerly stuffed oatmeal in his mouth and thanked his sister around a mouthful. When he was done eating he put his bowl in the sink and ran off to find Alastair, his stuffed strille. He saw his father and sister talking and didn't want to be rude by interrupting, so retreated to his uncle Faelan's room. He pulled a chair over to the shelf and climbed up. It a few tries but eventually he reached the bes'bev and climbed back down. He remembered what his father said about it's dual purpose. He began to swing it like a sword and made sound effects with gusto.*

Lorcan, looking more puzzled than anything in the wake of Raine's revelation, pats her on the back comfortingly as he says, "Hey, no need to apologize buddy. Lifting Raine's chin so that he can look at her and make sure that she can see his sincerity since it has yet to occur to him that her Force sensitivity may make her more attuned to his emotions and other facets of his thoughts than her ability to read his tone and expressions ever could, Lorcan says without any of his usual teasing or joking, Look, I get why you'd want to hold back about the Force sensitivity, alright? But I promise you that it doesn't change how I feel about you, yeah? Taking a moment to try and read from her expression or body language whether or not she understands what he is trying to say, Lorcan hugs her again and says, We'll figure out the verd'goten, don't worry. I mean, he steps back and begins pacing as he thinks aloud, this can't be the first time something like this has happened, right? There must be, I don't know, a protocol or something. Grinning as a thought occurs to him, Lorcan lifts a finger aloft as though struck with inspiration, We can ask Torin. Holding a hand up to keep Raine from protesting, Lorcan adds quickly, He's cool with Forcies, trust me. Mostly. Not, you know, with the Dark Side ones that are all Blargh! I will take over the universe or destroy everything! Waving his hands to suggest that she ignore the particulars of what he has said and focus on the overall point, Lorcan says, He'll know what to do about the verd'goten anyway. And, he frowns as it occurs to him that there are broader concerns than the verd'goten to consider in light of what Raine has revealed, some of which are more worrying than others, you know, about other stuff too."
Realizing that he is probably sounding less confidence inspiring than he had hoped, Lorcan walks back to Raine and hugs her again as he says, "Don't worry buddy, we got this. We'll get through it together, alright?"

*Raine could see the sincerity in her dad's eyes when he lifted her chin to look at her. As poor as her control over sensing emotions was, she could almost feel the swirling feelings around Lorcan. She was glad that he understand and wasn't mad at her. Even better, he knew someone that could help. She let out a small laugh when he poked fun at the Sith. Raine burried her face into her dad's chest and wrapped her arms around him when he hugged her.* "Thank you buir. I'm glad I told you know instead of you having to find out about it a different way." *She turned her grey eyes up at him in curiosity.* "You mean, Torin, head of clan Bralor? That Torin?" *She burried her face back into Lorcan's chest as if hiding.* "I've never met him before. So that makes me nervous anyway."

"Yep, Lorcan says, patting Raine's back with one hand while staring at a tear on a finger of his other hand with a horrified and incredulous expression while continuing, that's just the Torin I mean. Sniffing, muttering, Dusty in here, and telling himself that it was the dustiness, not any kind of mamby pamby overwhelming emotion kind of thing that made his eyes water, Lorcan gives Raine a last squeeze before stepping back and waving his arms around as though starting some stretching exercises that require him to turn around so that she cannot see his face, and says, Nah buddy, no need to be nervous. Like I said, he's totally down with the Forcies. And one cool Cathar to boot, you'll see. Oh, but he's not really a Cathar though, that was just a metaphor."
Running in place, pretty sure that the whole tearing up thing has passed, and was totally because of the dust, Lorcan says, "We'll pay him a visit. Later. After our run. Doing his best to both look and sound wise, Lorcan explains in his very best teaching voice, Physical conditioning is key in all kinds of sh . . . things. It's, you know, the foundation on which . . . well, all kinds of things really, are built. Gotta be in good shape for unarmed combat, right? And for, you know, maneuvering across or through different terrains? Waving a hand, grinning as though sure he has dispensed a few valuable pearls of wisdom and can save more for later, Lorcan says, Go get your brother, get him moving too. I'll meet you outside. As he starts to jog out of the vheh'yaim, Lorcan calls back, Oh yeah, put some rocks in a rucksack on your way out too."

*Raine groaned when her guess was right about who Torin was. She raised an eyebrow as her dad turned around and sniffed. Biting her lip, she refrained from asking if he was crying. Instead she listened to what he had to say about physical conditioning. This was something she was already familiar with. Growing up the way she did required a lot of physical exercise just to survive. She gave a nod when he told her to get her brother. Then another groan when he said to also get a rucksack with rocks in it.*
*She found Eimhin in their uncle's room, of course. Giving a sigh she put the bes'bev back up on the shelf and picked up her brother.* "Come on. Buir is waiting for us outside." *Several minutes later she was outside with Eimhin in tow. She was dressed for running. In her left hand was a rucksack with several pounds of rocks in it. This was something she wasn't to happy about.* "Alright. Where are we running to?" *Letting go of her brothers hand, she put the rucksack on her back. She was suddenly wishing she hadn't put so many in.*

*Eimhin whined in protest when Raine dragged him outside. He still had the bes'bev in his hand and once he was sure his father was looking he shouted at him in excitement*
"Buir! Look at what I can do!"
*He began to show off what he thought to be combat moves while making sound effects but in reality he was just swinging it from side to side while spinning slowly in a circle. His brows were knit in concentration as though trying to remember what he'd seen*

Jogging in place while waiting for Raine and Eimhin, Lorcan winks as he answers Raine's question with the enigmatic assurance, "You'll find out when we get there, before he hunkers down when Eimhin shouts for him to watch as he plays around with Faelan's bes'bev. Trying not to laugh or look too amused, Lorcan rubs his chin and nods, Impressive, nice moves my lil' verd'ika. Here, he says while standing up, let me show how to carry a bes'bev while maneuvering, alright?" The bes'bev is sturdy enough that Lorcan is not concerned about it coming to any harm, while Eimhin's lack of experience with the combined weapon and musical instrument could possibly lead to an injury, and it is never too early, in Lorcan's mind, to start teaching his son about edged weapons and other fun and useful things.
Once he has shown Eimhin the best way to carry the bes'bev, in this instance meaning worn in a makeshift sheathe on Eimhin's belt that Lorcan fashions from an old half shelter cape he remember laying at the bottom of his closet. The matter of the bes'bev sorted out, accompanied what Lorcan felt was a darn good speech about making use of old crap to make useful things, Lorcan starts their run.
Talking about Torin with Raine had given Lorcan the idea to fry two mynocks with one blaster bolt, and so he leads Raine and Eimhin on a run that takes them to Torin's vheh'yaim at the mid point, figuring that the kids can get a bit of a breather while they drop in on the old guy for a visit, set Raine's mind at ease about her being a Forcie, and then finish the run by returning home.
Having needed to pick Eimhin up and carry the exhausted lil' guy on his shoulders for the remainder of the run to Torin's, Lorcan nods towards the vheh'yaim they are heading for when it appears ahead of them, asking Raine playfully, "Think you can make it to that vheh'yaim there buddy? Or do I need to carry you and your rocks too?"

*Great, her buir was being cryptic, was all Raine could think of as he watched him show Eimhin how to properly hold the bes'bev. She was just going to have to see where at the end of their run.*
*Breathing seemed difficult to Raine as they closed in on their destination, more difficult than usual. She spotted the house her buir pointed at, it wasn't that far, she could make it. Her eyes turned to Lorcan when he asked his questions, or more like challenges in her mind. Pushing aside the pain in her lungs, she focused herself and picked up her pace. When she finally reached the vheh'yaim, she almost collapsed, her lungs feeling like they were on fire. Turning to her buir and pointing a finger at him.* "Made it." *She removed the rucksack from her shoulders and sat down beside it. Her breathing felt somewhat ragged and the rest of her body felt sore.* "So. Who lives here?"

Lorcan nods when Raine, having completed the run with the rucksack full of rocks, sits down, grinning as he cheerily agrees, "That you did buddy. Tilting his head to the side with a mildly concerned expression as he notes that she appears a bit out of breath, more so than he thinks seems entirely healthy, Lorcan asks, You alright? Too many rocks? Readjusting Eimhin more comfortably in his shoulders, he answers Raine's other question without actually answering it, You'll see buddy, catch your breath and all will be revealed once we're inside."
After Raine appears to have recovered from being winded, they make their way into the vheh'yaim, and then to Torin's combined office and command center, a somewhat spartan space that it more functional than comfortable. Torin, a sixty five year old human with a weathered and seamed face and a balding head, greets Lorcan warmly, and motions for him and his children to make themselves at home, gesturing towards a circular table surrounded by chairs in case any wish to have a seat.
Keeping Eimhin, who has a tendency to wander and explore and touch things he might be preferred to leave alone, on his shoulders as he answers Torin's question about what has brought them here, Lorcan explains that he has come to introduce his children, and then motions towards Raine with a mischievous grin and says, "And Raine had some concerns she wanted to bring to your attention," wanting to see how his daughter conducts herself without him taking point for her.

*Raine gave a nod when Lorcan asked if she was alright.* "I'm fine, it's just....been hard to breath right lately." *She stood up and followed her dad into the vheh'yaim. Her eyes took in the entire room they walked through until they landed on am older gentlemen sitting at a circular table. Then it hit her who it was, her buir had brought her to see Torin. She bit her lower lip as she sat down, the thought of being here so soon made her nervous. Her gaze went from her buir, as he mentioned why they were here, back to Torin. Letting out a slow breath, she tried her best to keep herself calm as she spoke.* "I was wondering about beings that are force sensitive and the verd'goten." *She glanced up at Lorcan for a split second before continuing.* "Because, I'm force sensitive and that makes me a little nervous about the whole thing. Like how common is it? What happens afterwards?" *Then Her mind drifted to what happened to her cousin.* "What about people who don't like force users?"

*Eimhin was not pleased that his buir was preventing him from leaving the room to explore. He began to fidget and struggled to get down after five minutes--his four year old patience at its limit. The conversations that were taking place held no interest for him. He finally made his displeasure known.*
"Buir! I want down!"
*The lad grunted as he tried to wiggle out of his father's hold*

"Uh huh, Lorcan tells Eimhin in a cheerful but dismissive tone as he tucks the lad beneath an arm when informed that he would like to get down, Not happening buddy." In an effort to keep Eimhin from growing too bored, Lorcan begins walking around Torin's office so that the lad can get a look at whatever might seem to attract his attention while also chattering cheerfully and ensuring that he never has an opportunity to get near enough to actually handle anything that does. As he tries his best to keep his son entertained, Lorcan makes a mental note to have Raine's breathing issue looked into by one of the clan's medics at the earliest opportunity, concerned in his contained way enough by her comment that he makes it a priority to look into the matter.
Torin, motioning for Raine to take a seat, sits on the edge of the desk near the circular table he indicated as he replies, "Now that you've brought the matter to my attention, you have no need to be concerned about the verd'goten. Explaining his comment to try and set the girl's mind at ease, Torin continues, The verd'goten is a test of your skills, and as such our Clan sees no need to penalize you or make the verd'goten more difficult merely because you have abilities that others do not. Frowning in thought before answering her other questions, Torin eventually says, Force sensitivity is not common among the Mando'ade, but it is not unheard of either. Attitudes vary, and even though our Clan officially has no distrust or dislike for Force Sensitives in general, I'd be lying if I told you that there are no members of Clan Bralor that harbor no lingering sentiments from the previous Mand'alor's jihad. His eyes narrow, his mouth a thin, hard line, as Torin says in a way that makes his position on the matter abundantly clear, If you should ever encounter any . . . issues, among your Clanmates or elsewhere among the Mando'ade, bring them to my attention, and they will be dealt with."

*Raine listened to what Torin said. Most of his words gave her a little bit of relief. Still, though, taking a test didn't seem fun. He seemed honest enough when telling her that some people won't be as excepting, but she expected that.* "I understand. I..always hid my force abilities from everyone. Not many people on Nar Shadaa ignored such a thing. Especially from on orphan, because someone like that is...worth...something." *She paused for a moment. Realizing that she stated that she was worth something in credits on Nar Nar Shadaa, just like property.* "I'll come back if something happens. And, I'll be ready for the verd'goten." *She stood up and gave Torin a half bow.* "Thank you for everything. I'll try and keep my abilities in check. Even my inherited temper."
*Her attention turned somewhat to her buir and little brother. Lorcan seemed to be trying to entertain Eimhin. Raine was about to say something when she started coughing again. She tried to stifle the nose some with her arm. Once the coughing stopped and she regained her breath, she gave Torin a sideways glance and apologized in a hoarse voice.* "Sorry."

Torin, having chuckled in obvious amusement when Raine had mentioned her inherited temper, lifts a hand when she apologizes needlessly for coughing, telling her, "You should have that cough checked out, I don't like the sound of it, he adds with a pointed glance towards Lorcan to make sure that he has heard his concern about the sound of the cough as well. Standing and patting Raine on the shoulder, he smiles and says, Aliit ori'shya tal'din," as a reminder that she is now a part of Clan Bralor, no longer an orphan.
Walking over to Lorcan and lifting Eimhin from him, Torin holds the boy up and smiles as he says, "Another new Bralor for us, hmm? I wonder how many more your buir has out there waiting to be found. Setting Eimhin down, Torin says, Let him wander, there aren't many fragile things around, he glances at Raine as he adds, though there may be a few sharp ones, to subtly suggest that she keep an eye on her younger brother to make sure he does not hurt himself, squatting down to look the lad in the eye as he says, I'm going to borrow your buir for a moment, lad, mind your sister now."
Following Torin when he motions for him to follow, Lorcan meets Raine's eyes, pointing to his eyes and then to Eimhin to have her keep watch over her brother as Torin had suggested just in case she had not caught that. After speaking with Torin in hushed voices for a moment, Lorcan returns to Raine and Eimhin, his mood less playful than it typically is as he says, "Come on buddies, time for the second half of the run. Frowning as he remembers Raine's cough, he asks, You feel up to it buddy, or should we make it a hike instead of a run?"

*Raine lowered her head some when Torin said she needed to get her cough checked out.* "Yes sir." *She gave a small smile when he patted her on the shoulder and said that she wasn't an orphan anymore.*
*She collected her brother from lead him across the room to let Torin and her buir talk. Keepinga close eye on him, she let him wonder but kept him from touching anything. Several minutes later her buir returned. He sounded more serious than before. Raine tilted her head some curiously and wondered what he had learned. His question made her pause. Could she run back? Her chest still hurt some.* "I..think I'd rather hike back." *She felt disappointed in saying this, but she was also tired of coughing. She bit her lower lip trying to hold back the question, but failed to do so.* "Buir, why do you think I'm coughing and finding it hard to breath?"
