*Norg Bral was a hill-fort town on the planet Mandalore. Norg Bral was the home to a number of members of the Mandalorian Bralor clan, and may have been the location where the clan name "Bralor" originated. Similar to an number of other Mandalorian settlements, Norg Bral was built within a heavy fortification that contributed to the ease with which it could repel invaders.*

As affected by the mood of his daughter as any father would be, Faelan broods quietly for the entire journey from the Oyu'baat to Norg Bral where his simple yet sturdy, modestly sized circular vheh'yaim was built many years ago from mud, grass, and veshok wood.
Setting his battered yet well maintained BAX-7 landspeeder down outside of the fence surrounding his home, partially submerged in the ground as many vheh'yaim are, Faelan silently curses Lorcan, blaming his younger brother's inability to a take a joke for the fact that everyone now appears to have sunk into a foul mood. Exiting the BAX, Faelan offers Telarial and Raine a brief smile , or as much of one as he is capable of, and after taking the duffel containing Telarial's armor from the backseat of the speeder, motions for Telarial and Raie to follow as he heads for the sunken entrance and cut-in stairwell accessway to his home.
Setting the duffel down beside the small shrine for the remembrance of those lost in the main living area, Faelan asks Raine and Telarial in a somewhat distracted tone while arguing with himself about how much he should allow himself to fuss over Telarial as he is aware that too much hovering protectively on his part would almost certainly not help improve her mood in addition to being an unwelcome reminder of what had happened to her, "so, what does everyo . . . Is anyone hungry?"

*Telarial gives Faelan a single nod in thanks when he takes her duffel bag into the house. Her eyes remained dull and rather bleak as she trudged across the living room. When Faelan asked if she was hungry, her face became a blank mask and she responded, almost in a mechanical fashion.*
"I'm not hungry. Thanks anyway."
*She went immediately to the living room couch and lowered herself down on one of the soft seats and reclined against a plush cushion. Her eyes closed and she feigned sleep after resting a hand across her bandaged ribs. She wasn't quite sure if Faelan would buy it. Telarial internally cursed when a twinge of pain shot through her thigh, causing her to grimace.*

Frowning as though concerned, though he is as much concerned as he is momentarily at a loss for what he can do to make sure that he is doing everything he can to facilitate his daughter's recovery, Faelan grunts before nodding and then looks around the living area as though searching for a task to occupy himself.
Wincing when he sees Telarial's grimace, which reminds him that he did not fill her prescription for pain medication yet, Faelan says, "I'll brew some shig," as much to himself as anyone else, and then makes his way to the kitchen, figuring that with a bit of tihaar and behot, the drink will act as a temporary painkiller and relaxant until he can fill the prescription. As he is making the shig an idea occurs to him and after a brief internal debate, Faelan decides to comm Raicheal, a clanswoman and friend he has known for many years, to ask that she pick up the prescription in his stead. As his old friend willingly agrees to help him out, Faelan's mood is somewhat improved when he brings a tray with a freshly brewed pot of shig and three cups into the living area.
Pouring cups for Raine and Telarial, Faelan hands one to each as he says sternly to avoid any argument, "Drink. It will help with the pain."

*Telarial took the mug and held it in her hand. She stared down into the steaming liquid and caught a brief glimpse of her reflection. She looked like a wreck. Telarial glanced up at Faelan and released a heavy sigh. The young Mandalorian feigned sipping it, if only to ease Faelan's troubled mind and his worry for her and set the mug down on the caf table in front of her.*
"Thanks Faelan. But I'm fine..."
*Telarial knew that her declaration sounded weak, even for her and avoided Faelan's gaze.*

*Raine sat in a chair and stared into her cup in deep thought. After a long moments silence, she looked up at Faelan and spoke in a serious tone.* "Who was Caitria?"

Nodding with a grunt when Telarial insists that she is fine, Faelan looks as conflicted as he feels; for he is torn between taking a firmer hand and tone with Telarial, and continuing to tread easily in light of what she has been through. When it occurs to him that he may be treating Telarial differently than he would have treated his sons due to her gender, Faelan chides himself for being a fool as well as biased, and loses the sense of timidity he had exhibited earlier as he points to the cup Telarial had set down and says, "Pirur, ad'ika," his tone making it clear he is not asking a question, but expects to be obeyed.
Grateful for the distraction Raine's question provides, and so concerned for Telarial and how best he can care for her that he has not yet picked up on the fact that Raine's mood had altered dramatically when he had innocently recalled a name from Lorcan's past, Faelan picks up his cup and laughs as he says, "Oh, just one of Lorcan's past flin . . , female friends. Still oblivious, Faelan chuckles with a shake of his head after taking a drink of shig, explaining as though proud of having thought so quickly on his feet, When you described your mother I remembered Caitria because she not only had red hair, blue eyes, and freckles, but was also, er, with Lorcan around the right time that your age would be right if she had . . . waving a hand rather than spell things out further, the idea still seeming merely a part of a joke he, Raine, and Telarial had played on his younger brother, Faelan laughs and waggles a finger at Raine as he says, Joking that Caitria was your mother's name was a nice touch."

*Telarial, now too tired to argue, offers up no further resistance and downs the contents of the mug. As she listens to Faelan's explanation to Raine's innocent query, she can't help but wonder if Raine really is Lorcan's ad. Everything sounded too coincidental to be anything but true. Soon a few minutes later, her exhaustion, coupled with the effects of the shig begin to make her sleepy and she pats the couch cushion beside her and invites Faelan to take a seat.*
"Sheber, buir...Gedet'ye."**
*Her previously dour disposition slowly disappeared and in place of it was one of honest, innocence, making her appear far younger than she had before she had ever met Faelan.*
**Sit, father...please

Grunting when Telarial pats the couch beside her, the gruffness of the nonverbal response all but entirely undone by the undeniable happiness in his expression, Faelan, as unable to deny Telarial so simple a request as he is moved that she has already come to trust him so much despite what he sees as his failure to have protected her from all that she was made to suffer in the past day, moves to his ad's side, putting an arm around her shoulders to give her a gentle, comforting hug.
"Udes ad'ika," Faelan says softly, hoping that the shig will do its work and afford Telarial relief from her pain long enough for the painkillers he tasked Raicheal with picking up arrive.

*The shig does indeed alleviate her pain, as well as make her drowsy. Once Faelan takes a seat beside her, going so far as to wrap an arm around her to give her a hug, her head soon comes to rest against Faelan's shoulder. Without realizing what she is doing, Telarial subconsciously snuggled further against his side, seeking his warmth. Within seconds, her eyes close and she drifts off to sleep.*

*Raine shook her head at Faelans response.* "But it wasn't a joke. That was her name." *She frowned and stared back into her mug. Now that Telarial had fallen asleep, she had to keep her excitement and noise level to a minimum. Which was hard because this was a big deal in her mind.*

Smiling as he looks down and sees that Telarial has fallen asleep, Faelan looks away from the sight only when Raine speaks. His expression at first confused, and then briefly amused as he briefly believes that Raine is simply making another joke before he can see from her expression and posture that she is not, Faelan raises his eyebrows as he considers the implications of what Raine has said, knowing full well what the young girl is thinking just as he knows that it may be possible that she is not wrong.
Unsure of whether learning that Lorcan is her father would be welcome news, Faelan, speaking quietly so as to not disturb Telarial, points out, "It could be nothing more than a coincidence Raine, so don't . . . not sure whether to caution her against getting her hopes up or not to worry that she is right in case learning Lorcan is her father would be the worst case scenario to her, Faelan trails off to leave what she should not do vague, enabling her to fill that blank in as suits her. Frowning pensively as he considers what he can say or do to help Raine process what she is feeling, Faelan unconsciously studies her features, searching for any resemblance between her and his younger brother. The two, Faelan has seen, share a fiery temperament, and though he thinks he can see some resemblance in their facial features now, Faelan cannot be sure that it is not simply that the idea of their possible relationship has made him think it is so. Thinking that it may help to begin at least exploring the possibility, Faelan asks, What else do you remember about your mother? Did she ever speak of your father?"

*Raine let out a sigh and began to think on how to describe her mother.* "She looks like what I told you. Red-haired, freckles and green eyes. She was from Corellia, but met my father on Mandalore, they didn't get married until a year after I was born." *Then she remembered something. Jumping from her chair, she sprinted to her room. She began to dig through her stuff until she found what she was after. As quickly as she left, she returned. In her hand was a small holidisc. Lifting it up to show Faelan before activating it. An image appeared in front of them, one of a three year old Raine and her parents. Her physical features were strikingly similar to her mother's. Her father, however, seemed to hold no resemblance to Raine whatsoever. He had bright blonde hair and blue eyes. A color Raine didn't inherit it seemed. Rather, she had dark reddish brown hair and gray eyes.* "See? That's my mom and that's....I guess..my dad. Or that's what I called him anyway. I don't really look like him, do I?"

Nodding after Raine answers his question about what other memories she has of her parents, Faelan arches an eyebrow when she mentions that her parents were married as that fact makes him mistakenly believe the possibility of Lorcan being her father has been eliminated; for while his younger brother does not tell him everything about his personal life, Faelan does not believe his brother would have gotten married without letting anyone know of it, his forthright nature making him overlook the possibility that Raine's mother may have lied about Raine's parentage.
When Raine sprints from the living area with no explanation, Faelan uses the opportunity to move Telarial to what had been a guestroom before he gave it to her for her use so that his discussion with Raine does not disturb her rest. After tucking Telarial in, Faelan returns to the living area and takes a drink of his shig as he waits for Raine to return. Setting his cup down when Raine returns and shows him a holoimage of her parents, Faelan studies it silently before agreeing, "No, you do not look like him at all. Pursing his lips in thought, Faelan points out, That does not necessarily mean he is not your father though Raine. Judging from Raine's behavior that her mind may be set at ease only if the question that has been raised where her parentage is concerned, Faelan says as though thinking aloud, There is a way to settle the matter, though, he frowns as he thinks of how Lorcan might react to being asked to take a paternity test, it might take some convincing to get Lorcan to agree to it."

*Raine straightened some when Faelan mentioned that there was a way to find out. Deactivating the holodisc, she stepped closer. She spoke in a low voice, almost finding it difficult to keep her excitement down.* "How?"

*while Faelan and Raine converse in the room next door, Telarial's sound sleep gradually becomes disturbed as dark dreams begin to take wing.*
Telarial was running through the police station. The hateful voice of Officer Montreal echoing from somewhere behind her. Each corridor became a maze and the ever increasing urgency to flee drowned out any other reasonable thought process. Before she knew it, she hit a dead end. Telarial desperately searched for a way...Any way out of her entrapment but despaired when Officer Montreal seemed to teleport them back to the officers' lounge where Faelan had fought to save her. Telarial's eyes widened in horror to find that she had collapsed to the floor, only in this odd dreamscape, the only injury she sustained was the knife wound in her right thigh. The only difference now was that somehow, the knife pinned her to the floor. Her panic levels increased when she finally understood that there would be no escape. Her attention which had been previously riveted on her past attacker soon focused on the vending machine nearby. For a moment her terror abated as she spoke incredulously.
"No kriffing way...They sell nexu-bite cereal here?! Wow is that over priced...They want 15,000 credits for a single box? What a rip off!"
Officer Montreal, or rather the dream version of him, slapped her face roughly to get her attention. He sneered cruelly at her.
"Your father isn't going to save you, you know. Secretly he hates you. He never loved you...you're a weakling, useless and pathetic. You're a burden to your so-called father. You can't even save yourself...he has to do it for you. So you see...he will never love you"
Dream version Lorcan chose that moment to barge through the door unannounced. He looked confused a moment as he assessed the current occupants of the room and didn't even appear to recognize Telarial. He shrugged nonchalantly as though having made a mistake.
"You aren't Caitria...Oops, wrong room."
Lorcan quickly pulled the door closed behind him and left without another word.
Montreal continued to torment Telarial, not so much with physical hurts, but rather with verbal jabs, many of which he had in fact spoken the day he attacked her. Not long after, the dream version of Faelan kicked the door down and entered the room clad in his beskar'gam but devoid of his buy'ce. He gave Montreal an even stare and then gave Telarial a disappointed one. His expression soon gave way to one of loathing and disgust.
"If you can't defend yourself, you are a failure. You are no warrior...You aren't worthy of the Bralor name. You are a laughingstock! You are no daughter of mine...Save yourself if you can. I gladly and freely wash my hands of you."
Dream Faelan then did the unthinkable. He shook his head as if in pity, turned his back on her, and walked away...Abandoning her to Montreal's mercy. Montreal laughed sadistically.
"I told you he doesn't love you. Now my dear....You are MINE!!!"
*Telarial began to scream audible words as she struggled to return to the world of the waking.*
"No! BUIR!! Don't leave me...I'm sorry!! Faelan! PLEASE!! Come back!! FATHER!!"

*Raine straightened some when Faelan mentioned that there was a way to find out. Deactivating the holodisc, she stepped closer. She spoke in a low voice, almost finding it difficult to keep her excitement down.* "How?" "Well, Faelan begins, tugging at an earlobe as he considers how detailed an answer Raine might be looking for before choosing his next words. In the simplest terms, genetic testing. A sample of your blood would be compared with Lorcan's to see if you are biologically parent and child. If Lorcan is your father, then your STR profile would contain DNA fragments that could be matched with his. Waving a hand to keep himself from getting into too much detail, Faelan, to do what he can to spare Raine any disappointment that getting her hopes up for one answer or another, cautions Raine gently, I would be sure, however, Raine, that you really want to know the answer to the question, and understand why you are even asking it at all, before approaching Lorcan to try and convince him to take the test. You don't know what is on the other side of the door the question opens, and once the door is opened you cannot close it again."

*Raine thought about it for a moment. She had always gone through life taking chances and rarely thinking about the consequences. Now thoughe the decision was difficult, but one she needed to know.* "I want know, I have to know. Leaving this question alone now will eat at me for the rest of my life. Don't worry about Lorcan, I'll convince him."

Raine's assertion that she will be able to handle Lorcan brings a rare smile to Faelan's lips, his expression quickly reverting to something more somber as he nods and says, "I understand and respect your reasoning Raine, he reaches out to rest a hand on her shoulder briefly as he admits in a stage whisper, I just wanted to be sure that you looked before leaping in this particular instance when you often leap before looking."
Sitting back and picking up his shig, Faelan takes a drink before asking, "Out of curiosity, how do you plan to convince him?"

*Raine was glad that Faelan understood what she wanted. Now the fun part. A wicked grin formed on her face when Faelan asked how she was going to convince Lorcan.* "I'm going to call him out infront of everyone. He won't be able to back down from this challenge, unless he wants to be embarrassed by a twelve year old."
