"Works for me, Lorcan says, both his expression and tone somewhat distant, as though his mind is elsewhere. Raine's question about her cough and shortness of breath appears to bring him back into the present, and Lorcan, not comfortable with problems he cannot solve with a blaster or his fists as a general rule, frowns with a helpless and frustrated shrug of his shoulders as he admits with obvious self deprecation, Dunno buddy, sorry. We'll have a baar'ur * check you out soon though, 'kay?" A few questions come to mind, such as how long she has had the cough, what triggers it, and so on pop into his head, but Lorcan, under the assumption that Raine has as little patience for answering questions more than once, figures that the baar'ur will think of those and probably a few thousand more to ask, and decides to let the subject pass, which has the added benefit of not requiring him to start worrying about all of the worrisome reasons that his daughter might have the coughing fits and shortness of breath.
"Let me know when you get tired buddy, Lorcan tells Eimhin as they set out on the hike back, and then tells them both in a mildly distracted tone suggesting that his thoughts have circled back to whatever has been preoccupying since he spoke with Torin, We'll stop and see Auntie Fee on the way. That'll be fun, right?"

*Raine gave a small nod at the thought of going to a medic. She wasn't surprised that her buir didn't have any idea about what was causing her issue. Actually going to a medic was something she hadn't done in years. Maybe going there wouldn't be so bad.*
*The rucksack of rocks was just as heavy now as it was before. She gazed up at Lorcan and realized that he seemed distracted by something. Even his enthusiasm seemed to have drained away even when he mentioned going to Fee's house. This seemed odd to her. She picked up her pace till she was right next to her buir.* "So, why are we going to Fees? Is something wrong?"

"No, Lorcan answers Raine's question somewhat absently, his thoughts clearly still elsewhere. Nothing wrong, he says after a pause, deciding to explain what has him preoccupied since it will need to be explained sooner or later, I just need to borrow her ship. Looking over to where Eimhin has gotten to make sure his son is not wandering off to get into some kind of trouble as he often seems wont to do, Lorcan adds, Torin wants me to look into a rumor on Yavin about some members of our Clan that have been MIA since . . . trailing off since the subject of the jihad is likely to be a touchy one to Raine, and one Lorcan prefers not to dwell on for reasons of his own, he goes on, It's probably nothing any way. Someone found some beskar'gam or heard a story about some Mandalorians being seen somewhere or other. Given the amount of time that has passed, Lorcan puts the chances of the rumors amounting to anything to next to nothing, and of actually finding a living member of their Clan at nil, but knows that the rumor needs to be investigated all the same. Pursing his lips in thought as his thoughts lead him to believe that he could probably bring his children along with him for the errand he suspects will be a short and uneventful one, Lorcan asks, I don't suppose you'd like to tag along? Keep an eye on your brother for me? Or, he grins with a shrug, you could just stay here at home and keep an eye on him instead."

*Raine arched an eyebrow when Lorcan said he needed to borrow Fee's ship. When he started to explain his reasoning, she understood why. What she didn't understand was the why. Why were Mandalorians on Yavin? Her buir wasn't explaining the why and that made her curious. When he asked it she wanted to go. She all but jumped in excitement. * "Yeah! I want to go! When do we leave? What's Yavin like?" *She had to stop her from asking anymore questions. Leaving on a trip, however, made her very excited.*

*Eimhin smiled at Torin when he picked him up and gave him permission to look around. He still had Faelan's bes'bev and was intrigued when he stumbled upon an old relic. A war drum from the look of it. Eimhin wasn't happy when he was pulled away from his brief inspection of the newfound instrument but obeyed his father and sister just the same. Later he perks up when Lorcan asks if they want to go with him on a trip and he nods enthusiastically while raising his arms up for his buir to hold him.*
"I wanna go! I promise to be good, buir!"
*He wrinkled his nose with a frown when his father suggested going to Fee's house and shakes his head vehemently while clinging to one of Lorcan's legs and cries up to him with his high pitched four year old voice.*
"No! I wanna stay with you! Please?"

Laughing and ruffling Eimhin's hair when his son, apparently not understanding what was meant by his comment about visiting Fionnuala, clings at his leg and says he wants to stay with him, Lorcan cheerily reassures him, "Oh, don't worry my verd'ika, where I go, you go. Squatting down to look Eimhin in the eyes, Lorcan becomes a bit more stern and serious as he says, Just remember your promise, always stay with your unit. Mind what I say, or what Raine says if I need to head out alone for some reason, OK? Resting a hand on Eimhin's shoulder, Lorcan grins and says, It'll be fun, our first family mission together, right? Right."
Standing up and beginning to head for Fionnuala's vheh'yaim, visible now just ahead at the edge of a forest, Lorcan answers Raine's question, "Yavin 4, the moon we'll be going to, is mostly jungle and rain forest. Grinning as he spots Fionnuala and a dark haired woman working on an airspeeder together and waves to them, Lorcan says, As for when we leave, that depends on whether or not Auntie Fee lets us borrow her ship. Let's hope she's in an agreeable mood, I'd like to leave tonight if at all possible."
Once they reach the speeder, Fionnuala greets EImhin and Raine in customarily cheerful way, hugging each of them before introducing the pale skinned woman with short black hair, Roisin Bralor, who wears green beskar'gam. Roisin and Lorcan, it becomes clear to anyone paying attention, do not seem to care for one another much, though they are polite enough in light of the fact that Fionnnuala and Lorcan are childhood friends. After Roisin, who appears to share Fionnuala's cheery disposition, at least when Lorcan is not the one she is interacting with in a more merely polite way, has greeted Eimhin and Raine, Lorcan turns on the charm and, after a bit of whining and cajoling, manages to get Fionnuala to let him borrow her ship, a modified Pursuer-class enforcement ship.
Less than convinced that it is wise to bring EImhin and Raine along with him for the trip to Yavin 4, Fionnuala squats down to ask Raine and Eimhin, "You guys sure you don't want to stay here with Ro and I? You're more than welcome to, and it might be more fun than traipsing around the jungle with your moron of a buir, she jokes, poking her tongue out at Lorcan when he huffs in irritation, At least Ro and I won't forget about you like he might if something shiny or pretty with big . . . eyes distracts him, you know?"

*Raine listened with great interest. So Yavin 4 was mostly rainforest, now that was something she had never seen before.* "Well I hope we get to leave soon. Going there sounds like it's going to be awesome!"
*Directly in front front of them was Fee and another woman she didn't know. She hugged Fee and was introduced to Roisin. Raine shyly says hi to the new woman, even now, Raine was still cautious around new people. She shook her head at Fees offer for Raine and Eimhin to stay with her and Ro.* "I really want to go. Seeing a jungle sounds fun. The only thing I saw growing up on Nar Shaddaa was duracrete and steel. The first time I really ever saw a forest was when I came to Mandalore." *She gave Fee a mischievous grin at the second half of her statement.* "Don't worry. I know how to keep him focused. If he does forget about us, then I'm not to worried. I've survived some pretty nasty things in my life. I can take care of myself." *She was trying to act tough. The truth was she questioned those odds now that her breathing was being affected by...something. What if Eimhin got lost? Would she be able to find him on such a planet? She shook those thoughts away, which was easy to do with all the excitement at hand.*

Lorcan frowns as Raine speaks with Fionnuala, not out of any disappointment that she remains adamant about joining him since he finds himself as excited about the idea of spending time with the children he only recently discovered he had, but because of what she says about her past. As illogical as Lorcan knows it is that he feel guilty about what Raine endured before fate brought them together, he feels an uncomfortable combination of anger as well as guilt all the same; anger that he was denied the chance to be there for Raine from the moment she was born, denied the opportunity to protect her and teach her all that a father should teach a daughter, and guilt that it may have been something Raine's mother saw or sensed in him that led her to decide not to make him aware of her pregnancy. As easy as it is for him to set uncomfortable thoughts aside most times, Lorcan finds he cannot do so now, and only by making a conscious effort to not let his thoughts distract him does he manage to force himself to make a tentative, temporary peace with the past.
Remembering Raine's breathing issues, Lorcan asks Roisin, "Hey, you're still a baar'ur, right?"
Forcing a patient smile, her tone only mildly annoyed rather than revealing the actual depth or how foolish and irritating she finds the question, Roisin says with theatrical sweetness, "It's not really something you can stop being, utreekov."
"Yeah, Lorcan says, apparently so used to Roisin's insults that they no longer bother him, Great. Looking over at Raine, he asks, You wouldn't mind checking Raine out, would you? She's got this breathing thing, see, and . . . trailing off as it occurs to him that Raine might not be comfortable with the idea of being checked out now, he asks her, If, you know, that's alright with you buddy? Roisin is a good baar'ur. I mean, sure she can be kind of a bitc. . ."
Cutting Lorcan off with the ease that comes with a lot of practice in keeping him and Roisin from getting on one another's nerves any more than than they do simply by being in close proximity to one another, Fionnuala laughs and punches him in the arm as she says, "Don't mind these two, hon'. Ro could check you out if you want, she glances at Roisin as though to check whether she is actually willing to do so, smiling warmly at the dark haired woman when she shrugs her shoulders with a nod to indicate she has no objections, and It might actually be a good idea with you heading to Yavin 4 and all."

*So Ro was a baar'ur. Raine tilted her head to the side some, thinking how strange it was that they found one before leaving for Yavin 4. When her buir told Ro about her breathing problem, Raine almost tensed. She knew she needed to get it checked out, but so soon. Her eyes glanced between the two, then to Fee when she stepped in to save her buir from embarrassment. She nervously glanced from Lorcan, to Fee and then to Ro.* "O..okay. I..guess it would be a good thing."

Roisin smiles and gestures towards the entrance to the vheh'yaim as she says, "My kit's inside, having noted Raine's shyness and guessing that she would probably prefer that the assessment take place in private. As they begin heading inside, she starts her assessment by asking a few basic questions, How long have you noticed the breathing difficulty? Is there anything that usually triggers it? Do you ever have any wheezing? Or a cough?" As she asks the questions, Roisin watches Raine's breathing pattern to get a general idea of her respiratory rate, whether or not it looks as though she is using any accessory muscles, or has any anatomical deformities of her thorax.
Once inside the vheh'yaim, Roisin leads Raine to what looks like a combination library and office, where she keeps her medical kit. As she is gathering her stethoscope and handheld medisensor, Roisin asks, "You said you grew up on Nar Shaddaa? How long ago did you relocate to Manda'yaim?"

*Raine almost hesitantly followed Roisin into the vheh'yaim. Then the questions started. She gazed around the room and tried to answer the questions at the same time.* "A year or so...it started not long before I left Nar Shaddaa. I cough whenever I have to use a lot of oxygen, like for running and stuff." *She tried breathing in deep. Once her lungs were half filled, she felt a sharp pain. She coughed some as if trying to clear something out of them.*
"I've only been on Manda'yaim for a few months." *She coughed again and was rewarded with a foul taste.* "Sometimes I get a bad taste when I cough. I even coughed up some black gunk once. Kinda like tar, or something."

Even a casual examination of the room will enable Raine to determine that it is a space Roisin and Fionnuala have shared for quite some time; Roisin's medical diploma and collection of medical texts or datafiles along with Fionnuala's tools, mechanic's texts and painting supplies having gradually commingled over time so that there is no line of demarcation indicating where one woman's space begins and the other's ends. A few holopictures on the walls, some showing Fionnuala and Roision in full beskar'gam with other armed and armored Mando'ade and suggesting a history of working together, while others, where they are alone and in more casual attire, suggest that it is not only their work lives that are entwined.
Roisin, having been a doctor long enough to have cultivated a reliably neutral, calm expression given that no patient ever wants to see their doctor looking worried or concerned, does not appear anything other than interested in Raine's answers to her questions even when the answers, when put together with what little of Raine's history comes to light, suggest a probable diagnosis even before the medisensor is used. As she begins auscultating Raine's lungs, in between having the young woman take breaths, Roisin asks, "How often do you have a productive cough? Or is it only during exertion? Have you ever coughed up blood? Had a sore throat or hoarseness? Having noted Raine appears as though she is in pain at times when instructed to take deep breaths, she asks, How often do you have pain while breathing in deeply? Always, or only sometimes?"
Having finished auscultating Raine's lung fields, unsurprised that they are somewhat diminished, especially at the bases, Roisin sets her stethoscope aside and reaches for Raine's hand, checking her fingers for any peripheral cyanosis as she asks, "Have you ever been diagnosed with any illnesses? Had any kind of tests or scans done in the past?"

*Roisin's expression was professional, but Raine could sense every emotion the woman made, even if she wasn't that good at it. The room told a lot about Roisin and Fee. As curious as she was, she would have to save her questions for later.* "A productive cough? I don't know, I cough a lot when my lungs start hurting. I've never coughed up blood. My throat does get pretty hoarse sometimes. Most of the time when breathing deeply, at least lately anymore. Sometimes it feels like there's cobwebs in my lungs."
*The last couple questions made Raine think. Did she have any tests recently? When was the last time she went to a doctor?* "I've gotten sick before. Some from the food I ate, or...not eating at all. The last time I went to a doctor was when I was...seven? I can't remember. I don't think I have an illness."

*Eimhin hugged Fee and shyly hid behind Lorcan's leg and grasped a fistful of his father's trouser in one small hand. He peered cautiously around and took in his new surroundings.*

Lorcan puts a hand comfortingly on Eimhin's shoulder when it becomes apparent that the lad is feeling shy, and gently guides him over to where Fionnuala has resumed working on the engine of her airspeeder. Knowing next to nothing about repairing an airspeeder's engines does not keep Lorcan from making a few suggestions as he peers into the innards of the engine, much to the irritation and amusement of Fionnuala, who ignores the suggestions and continues to work after distracting Lorcan with a few questions about his trip to Yavin 4.
Roisin nods as Raine speaks, using the handheld scanner to enable the device to make a preliminary diagnosis that, unsurprisingly, confirms her own impression that Raine has the early stage of a lung infection. Raine, should she be attending to Roisin's emotional responses to any degree, will detect little concern from the woman; Roisin's assessment and the medisensensor's preliminary diagnosis indicating that the infection or disease is a treatable one. As she begins linking the medisensor to her datapad so that she can then upload the data to a larger database that will enable her to rule out any of the conditions that might mimic the disease she believes lays at the heart of Raine's condition, Roisin says, "I think what you've been dealing with is the early stage of a lung condition caused by exposure to something toxic in Nar Shaddaa's atmosphere. It's treatable, she adds calmly, no deception or attempt to mislead Raine as to the severity of the condition evident in her thoughts, so I don't want you to worry. Setting the datapad aside once the data transfer is complete, Roisin heads to a cabinet and returns with four hypoinjectors containing corticosteroids, explaining as she hands them to Raine, Inject one now, and keep the others. Inject them if the shortness of breath or cough get pronounced enough that you have difficulty catching your breath. Tapping the datapad, she explains, I've sent the scan to the city's main medcenter's database to see whether or not there is any cause for concern, but it will take some time for it to be interpreted by a pulmonologist. Once I get the result, I can form a more focused treatment plan. I should have the results by the time you get back from Yavin 4. Raine does not strike her as someone that would be comfortable with being touched as a form of reassurance, and so Roisin smiles instead, reiterating, I don't want you to worry. Just take it easy, and use those injections if the shortness of breath or cough get too bad. Do you have any questions or concerns?"

*Raine could sense what felt like concern, or something like it, on the edge of Roisin's emotions. This didn't bring any comfort to Raine. The diagnosis wasn't much fun to hear either. A lung infection, how long did she have that? The plus side though, it was treatable.*
*She looked down at the hypoinjectors in her hand and cringed some. Was she really going to have to use one on herself? Looking up at Roisin, them back to the device in hand. Takinga deep breath, she injected the medicine into her arm.If it kept her alive, then she'd just have to deal with it.*
"I think I understood half of that stuff." *She set the empty hypoinjector down and thought for a second.* "What happens if it gets worse?"

Crinkling her nose apologetically when told that she had not managed to communicate what she had been trying to tell Raine very well, Roisin says, "Sorry, one of the biggest challenges of the job is making sense to someone who doesn't do it, and I don't always succeed, obviously. Reaching up to brush her chin length black hair back off of her forehead, Roisin says, As for the possibility of things getting worse, I suggest we cross that bridge if we ever get to it. From what I can tell, however, I don't think any aggressive treatment options will be needed for you to make a full recovery, so try not to worry, alright?"
Standing up and gesturing towards the hallway outside of the room, Roisin smiles as she says, "Let's head back outside, and as they make their way outside suggests, For now, try not to exert yourself, since you know that is one of your triggers, and use the injections if you have any flare ups. I should have the full analysis of your scan before you get back from Yavin 4, so we can discuss treatment options at that time. Sound good?"

*Raine couldn't fault Roisin for doing her job. The fact of the matter was that Raine didn't have that large of a vocabulary. A side effect of not being able to read very well. There was relief of Roisin's words, however, that pointed at the fact that the infection shouldn't get any worse.*
*She followed the woman outside. Roisin's instructions were pretty simple, don't exert herself, or at least try not to. The she would also have more answers for her when Raine came back from Yavin 4.* "Alright. I'll try and not be...me for a while. Which might actually be kinda hard. Thank you, and..I'll try to behave." *Once outside, Raine almost ran over to her buir, but stopped herself. Walk don't run. Letting out a slow breath, she walked back over to her buir and her brother.* "I think I'm ready to go."

*Eimhin became incredibly curious as he watched Fionnula working on the airspeeder. He felt comforted that his father was standing next to him but continued to clutch his pant leg in one fist as he reached into the toolbox beside the woman to grasp a hydrospanner. He offered it to her with a hopeful look.*
"Do you need this to fix it?"

Noting Eimhin's interest in her work on the speeder, Fionnuala smiles as she squats down to accept the hydrospanner from him, cheerily assuring him that, "This is exactly and precisely the very thing I need, Em, thanks! "
Lorcan, looking at Raine with an eyebrow cocked inquisitively when she and Roisin return, asks, "Everything good?" the question clearly meant for Raine as he all but ignores Roisin.
"She will be just fine, Roisin tells Lorcan, not content to leave it to Raine to explain things when she had made it clear enough that she did not understand all that she was told. I think she may have a lung condition, which is highly treatable. I've given her some medication that will help with any more episodes of shortness of breath, but you, she gives Lorcan a hard look that makes it clear what she says is important for him to do, need to make sure that she does not exert herself any more than necessary for a while."
Nodding that he has understood Roisin's instructions, Lorcan tries to look less concerned for Raine than he still feel even after hearing the news that Raine's condition is treatable as he says to Roisin with genuine gratitude, "Thanks, doc, and then ruffles Eimhin's hair and says to both his son and Raine, Come on guys, let's head back home and get packed for our trip, he gives Raine a pointed look, We'll walk nice and slow, take plenty of breaks. Empty the rocks outta your pack, he mutters to try and keep Roisin from hearing him, and then more loudly concludes, No pushing yourself, got it?"
