*Eimhin nodded after a moment and reached his small hand out to grasp hers. He followed her into the living room where Lorcan was and stared down at the floor, looking as though someone had kicked his pet. He refused to look at his buir and chose to remain silent.*

Scratching the back of his head as he watches Raine excitedly show Telarial the results of the paternity test that has revealed that he is her father, Lorcan mentally rolls his eyes as he catches himself grinning stupidly as he watches the two girls speaking together, the heady combination of pride, fear, guilt, and what feels like at least a dozen other emotions all swirling around within him - pride in seeing Raine looking so happy even though the guilt for having been unaware of her birth at all and for having missed so much or her life nearly offsets the pride with its reminder that he has had no hand in shaping Raine into who she is; hope that he will be able to take such a hand in her life now, along with the hope that he will be up to the task of fatherhood after having lived his life as a happy, unattached bachelor for so long; and fear that he will disappoint or damage Raine through ignorance or inability to fulfill his role as father as well as he should.
Shaking his head to try and clear it, Lorcan does what he often does when his thoughts or emotions start swelling to unmanageable sizes, and simply sweeps them aside to be dealt with another time, at least if they cannot just be set aside and left in an un-examined corner of his mind to collect dust - Lorcan's policy being not to worry or fret about things given that neither worrying nor fretting alone will make any difference at all in how things turn out. That he is in his current situation precisely because he has adhered thusfar to a strict policy of frolicking through his life as free from carry, worry, or self-examination as he can get away with it, naturally, does not occur to Lorcan.
Shrugging when Raine asks what is up with Telarial after his brother's daughter has stormed off, Lorcan grins and says, "She's a teenaged girl; and so I'm guessing it's all the raging hormones that come along with being one. Groaning as he realizes that he will have a teenaged daughter of his own to deal with eventually, Lorcan rubs bridge of his nose with a shake of his head as he says, Hopefully you can, uh, learn how to deal with the whole teenaged thing by watching and learning from her mistakes and, you know, successes. Playing that back in his head, shrugging when he determines that it is sound enough advice, Lorcan grins and says, Not bad as far as fatherly advice goes, huh?"
Having ultimately decided to ignore Telarial's warning not to tell Faelan about her storming off, Lorcan had gone to wake his older brother, and both are in the main living area of the vheh'yaim when Raine and Eimhin return; Faelan looking less than happy with the situation even though Lorcan had managed to keep him from going after Telarial by spouting a lot of nonsense about teenaged girls needing space, combined with some reminders about how Telarial had been getting along just fine before being adopted, all topped off with some subtle suggestion that going after her could be interpreted as a lack of trust in Telarial's ability to look after herself.
Patting Faelan on the shoulder comfortingly, Lorcan smiles as he goes over and lifts Eimhin, cheerily booming, "Why so glum, ver'dika? There's freshly baked uj in the kitchen, he goes on while setting Eimhin on back of his shoulders and, nodding his chin towards the kitchen to invite Raine to come along, walking to the kitchen. Sitting Eimhin on the counter, Lorcan cuts a slice of the uj for his son, then one or two more depending on whether Raine has joined them, then offers a plate to Eimhin as he asks in a playfully curious tone, So, do you make a habit of staying up this late all the time, or is this a new place jitters or maybe a plain ol' insomnia thing? Big day, huh? Lorcan goes on, nodding as he thinks about all that has happened, musing, Big day for everyone really. Shrugging with a grin, he lifts his plate and says, But there's uj at the end of it, so I'd call it a good day overall."

*The little lad giggled when his buir lifted him onto his shoulders and gave him, to what seemed to the child to be, nothing short of a ride. Eimhin relayed everything he had told both his uncle and newfound sister to his buir in a rather glum voice a few minutes later. The Uj cake momentarily distracted him from his previously saddened thoughts and as soon as he tasted the cake a smile lit up his face and he began stuffing more into his mouth, uncaring that he was making a mess. Once the slice was gone, Emhin, still an adiik and not as proficient as his elders in cleaning himself, grins happily up at his father with bits of Uj smeared around the corners of his mouth, partly on his rosy cheeks, and caked on his hands. Fortunately thus far, his clothing remained unblemished by the delicacy that Telarial was so gracious enough to have made for all of them.*
"Buir? I miss Alastair...Can we find him later?"

*After hours of patient waiting, her prey ambled into view. She nearly nodded off a few times during her wait, and nearly fell out of the rather tall tree once or twice...Telarial would be certain to leave a few details about her hunting excursion out as soon as she returned to her family. There was no way she was going to share that bit with her father once she returned home with her prize. Telarial carefully took aim at a shatual, a rather common food source, with her rifle and after lining up the perfect shot, she squeezed the trigger, dropping the animal. Telarial was relieved that her aim had been so precise. The animal didn't suffer and was dead within seconds.
She shimmied down from her tall perch and used a rope she had brought along to tie the beast up with so that she could carry...or in this case...drag it home. The young Mandalorian teen was careful to patch the animal's fatal wound so that it wouldn't bleed out to leave a trail for unwanted predators that might be lurking nearby. Within an hour, she was back home. Dumping the animal into an empty freezer chest just outside Faelan's Vhey'aim, Telarial silently entered the homey abode of the Bralor family. Pulling off her buy'ce, she wiped the sweat from her brow and for a moment couldn't understand why she felt so cold when her body was blazing hot. Telarial figured it was from the exertion of the hunt.*
"Wow, all of you are still awake? Hey, you guys will never guess what I---"
*Her words tapered off when she realized something wasn't right. Fighting back nausea, she lifted a hand to her forehead as a wave of dizziness assaulted her, and stared straight into Faelan's light blue eyes the moment she realized she was feverish. A brief expression crossed her face, one of guilt commingled with fright, confusion, and what could be interpreted as a silent plea. Before she could utter another word, her eyes rolled back up into her head and she fell, passing out to land heavily on the wooden floor.*

Lorcan chuckles with a shake of his head as, upon seeing the state of Eimhin after he has finished his uj, he goes to get a towel to clean his son up. Nodding despite having no idea who or what Alastair is, figuring that there will be time enough to figure that information out, Lorcan cheerily declares with his usual combination of utter confidence and charm, "Absolutely verd'ika! We'll find Alastair later, don't you worry. Let's just get you cleared up first, he says as he starts cleaning Eimhin's face and hands, and then catch some rack time. It's been an exciting day, and night, for us all, but we all need rest to grow big and strong, and now that things have finally settled down, and all the drama has ended at long las . . . Arching an eyebrow with a concerned expression as he hears the sound of Telarial falling to the floor in the living area of the vheh'yaim, Lorcan pats Eimhin on the head reassuringly as he smiles and says with an inspired combination of gentle command and disarming humor intended to keep his son from getting worried, Stay put ver'dika, hold this position while I check out what that noise was."
Arriving as Faelan, looking nearly panicked with worry, lifts Telarial in his arms and, his face pale and stricken, begins heading quickly towards the door, Lorcan asks what has happened, more concerned for his brother than Telarial when Faelan's surprising lack of composure is evident in his nervous, almost hysterical answer. Lorcan's ability to remain calm in even the most dire of circumstances is something he is known for, and yet seeing his brother so unhinged by what appears to be a simple case of Telarial succumbing to exhaustion after wantonly ignoring the sound medical advice she had been given to rest to allow her body time to recover from the injuries and stress it had been subject to nearly causes him to panic as well. Fortunately for all involved, Lorcan manages to keep a level head in the end, convincing Faelan that there is no need to rush off to the medcenter again, and then helps his brother get Telarial settled in bed, with cold compresses on her head, under her arms, and on the back of her neck.
Carrying Eimhin on his shoulders into Telarial's room, where Faelan sits beside the bed in a chair watching over his sleeping daughter worriedly, Lorcan says as much to comfort and reassure his son as he does to reassure Faelan, "See verd'ika, everyone is just fine. Telarial just let herself get a bit exhausted, but she'll be alright once she gets some rack time. Never ignore the rack time verd'ika, it will come back to bite you in the shebs every time if you do," Lorcan says cheerily.
Not taking his eyes from Telarial, Faelan says, "Thank you Lorcan, I . . . I don't know if. . ."
Waving a hand to dismiss his brother's gratitude as unnecessary, Lorcan says, "Forget it. Next time you can undress your own daughter though, he jokes, faking a shiver at the thought of needing to remove Telarial's beskar'gam before putting her to bed. More seriously, he says, She'll be fine. If the fever doesn't break by morning, I'll pilot us to the medcenter myself, alright? She just needs rest."
Nodding mechanically, Faelan rests his chin atop his clasped hands, resuming his worried vigil.
Seeing that Faelan is in no mood for talk, Lorcan pats him on the shoulder a final time and then carries Eimhin from the room and starts for their own, cheerily announcing, "Let's get to bed ourselves verd'ika, before we both collapse too."

*Eimhin yawns tiredly as his buir cleans him up. When Lorcan told him that rest would make him big and strong he smiled shyly at his father, innocently asking*
"Just like you?"
*He frowns when his buir tells him to stay put, leaving him alone in the kitchen. The little boy looked over at the Uj cake...it was tempting but he soon found that he had become too tired to steal an additional piece. Once his father explains how important it is for one to rest after glimpsing Telarial's current state, nods silently and snuffles Lorcan. Eimhin rests his head in the crook of Lorcan's neck and released another yawn. Once they were settled down in Lorcan's room, the adiik snuggled beside his buir and fell into a heavy sleep.*

*Telarial slept soundly through the night...her body finally catching up on the rest she had so stubbornly denied it. Upon waking the following morning, she noticed that Faelan had once again watched over her while she had been sleeping. She saw that her beskar'gam had been removed and sighed, shifting slightly beneath the blankets of her bed so that she could remove all of the cold compresses from various areas on her body. Moving as stealthily as she could...Telarial slowly began to slide out of bed and tried not to disturb her buir. What would Faelan do? Wrathfully scold her? Prevent her from leaving again? She nearly snorted when an image came to mind...picturing Faelan tying her up and locking her in a closet. She froze when a floorboard creaked beneath her left foot and held her breath as she winced, glancing at Faelan. It would be ironic if he actually heard her. It was rather reminiscent to how she and Faelan met months ago.*

*Raines worry for Telarial was quick pushed aside by sleep. She hadn't even realized that she was tired until she laid down. Even with how tired she was and the excitement she had during the day, she was up early like normal.*
*The morning dew that soaked the grass felt cool on her bare feet as she stood out in the backyard. Her pants were rolled up to her knees like shorts. She had already been outside for a while practicing ever fighting form she had learned from both the Jedi and her mother. Ever since she had moved in with Faelan, she had practiced her fighting skills every morning, well..almost every morning. Today was different however. She had a father she never knew about, and the fact he brought up training for the Verd'goten, it gave her something worth training even harder for. Either that or she was trying to make him proud, she wasn't entirely sure.*

*When Faelan continued to slumber peacefully, she exhaled a quiet breath of relief and tip-toed out of the bedroom door and into the kitchen. She began to make a morning meal for everyone, deciding to make the spicy casserole dish Faelan served to her the first morning she had been his guest. A fresh pot of spiced caf began brewing too. She smiled when she observed that the majority of her Uj cake was gone, having been consumed by the others and shook her head with a soft chuckle. She began to make a new cake after finishing off the last slice of the first one she made from the previous evening.*

*Raine was tired when she returned to the house. She quietly entered the entered the kitchen, her bare dust covered feet padded softly across the floor. When she spotted Telarial making breakfast, she stopped.* "I didn't think you'd be up already."

Reaching up to gather his shoulder length hair into a neat ponytail as he enters the kitchen, Faelan snorts before asking in a theatrically annoyed tone of voice that is not without a faint note of true irritation, "Did I miss where the doctor included making breakfast as a vital part of the resting that he advised was necessary for your recovery ad'ika? Lifting his eyes to the heavens as though to ask why he has been made to suffer so, Faelan heaves an exaggerated sigh as he says, I suppose I should be grateful that at least you did not decide to go out and hunt for our breakfast. Lifting his hands with a smile to suggest that he has finished, for the moment, gently chiding Telarial for her apparent inability to remain abed and rest, Faelan jokes, You know, some would welcome an opportunity to lay in bed and be waited upon hand and . . . "
"Sign me up for that being waited on part, Lorcan, carrying Eimhin into the kitchen on his shoulders, jokes cheerfully as he stops beside Raine and ruffles her hair with a grin. Nodding in approval as he inspects Telarial's cooking, looking ever so slightly tentative and apprehensive as he, in his own unique way, tries to pave over the tension which had arisen between him and his brother's daughter, adds with a smile, Looks good, Tee, even smells good too. I, erm, don't suppose you'd mind if Eimhin, Raine, and I joined you and Mr. Grumpy-pants there for breakfast?"

*Telarial looked up from her task and hugged the younger girl.*
"Var'tuur, Raine. Would you like to help me finish? That fresh Uj in the oven is going to need glazing."
*Telarial did not sense Faelan's approach. When she heard his voice, having already been so intently focused on her task, screamed and jumped into a fighting stance and aimed the current weapon she had at him currently in her hand...which was none other than a wooden stirring spoon. She stared at him wide-eyed, the fact she'd been so abruptly startled, quite apparent. Lowering the spoon after releasing a relieved sigh, gave him a glare and with a growl she aired her grievance.*
"ARGH! BUIR, YOU SCARED ME!! Ggrrrr...do you realize the harm I could have caused you had this spoon been...been...something far pointier? And sharper?!"
*After composing herself she meditated a moment on his words. She gave him a soft smile and hugged him*
"I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm so jumpy this morning. I don't think cooking is that taxing. I'll take a nap later if only to appease your morbid paranoia."
*Her eyes widened when Faelan mentioned being glad and that she hadn't gone out hunting. Oh boy...the future meal she collected the previous evening was still outside locked in the freezer chest. With a tentative, guilty smile she cleared her throat and lifted a finger in the air.*
"Hunting. About that...I uh...last night I...uhh...well you see, I went to..."
*She exhaled a sigh of relief when Lorcan and Eimhin entered the kitchen, complimenting her cooking. She gave them a relieved smile. Turning so that Faelan would not be able to see her facial expression, she silently mouthed the words "Save Me!" to her uncle with a pleading look. Realizing that her buir would get far too suspicious if she remained silent by not answering her uncle's pleasantries, finally did so.*
"Thank you. I umm...I'm sorry about the other night. As for your ridiculous question, are you kidding me? Of course I want you three to join us! Why do you think I made a triple batch of this casserole? We're family...right?"
*She looked straight into Lorcan's eyes upon voicing her last question with a grim, albeit, hopeful look. After Telarial's apology she returned to focus on the last finishing touches that would make their family meal complete. Her buir sure was going to be mad when he learned that she had gone hunting the previous night, thereby exasperating her still healing injuries and mildly weak condition. She hoped that making food for everyone would appease him and save her from the worst of his wrath. After setting the table and pulling up a couple additional chairs, Telarial gestured for everyone to come eat and then sat down herself.*

Giving Telarial a wink to let her know that he has received her silent plea for aid and agrees to come to her rescue, Lorcan cheerily booms over Faelan's efforts to ask Telarial what she had been about to say about where she had gone the previous evening, "Oh, give the girl a break Faelan, she's hardly going to exhaust herself cooking, is she? Don't be that overprotective, hovering father guy, huh? Rubbing his hands together after sitting Eimhin down in a chair and beginning to prepare a plate for him, Lorcan continues to try and distract his brother by asking, Well, aren't you going to sit, or maybe at least help with the serving out?"
Scowling even though he decides to let his brother get away with his somewhat transparent effort to divert attention from Telarial, Falean sighs and then pulls a chair out as he tells Telarial sternly, "Sit down, I'll take care of the rest of the preparations. What might be the faintest hint of a smile appearing ever so briefly at the corner of his lips, Faelan lifts the wooden spoon from Telarial's hand as he gently prods her to sit with his free hand, joking dryly, I'd best take that before you hurt someone. Pointing the spoon at Raine, he says, You handle the glazing, I'll serve everything else out."
As he begins dishing the meal out, Falean says to Telarial, "Don't think I've forgotten about that nap either, and then adds intentionally mysteriously, You'll need to be well rested for the trip we'll be making soon."

*Raine gave an agitated growl when her dad ruffled her hair. She started to pull it into a ponytail when Faelan and Lorcan quick exchange. When her uncle pointed the spoon at her and set her to a task, she did it somewhat begrudgingly. Once the cake was glazed, she set it on the table and sat down. Her ears perked up when Faelan a trip.* "A trip? Where to?"

*Telarial breathed a sigh of relief when Lorcan came to her rescue. While it was true that her father's attention had been momentarily diverted, she knew all too well that it would only be a matter of time until he discovered the truth concerning her little hunting trip the previous evening. All anyone had to do was look into the freezer outside. Telarial pouted when Faelan took the spoon from her hand and walked dejectedly away. Once she was seated she began to serve herself and began to eat. Almost afraid of how everyone was going to react to her culinary skills, she paused and held a breath as her eyes darted from one Bralor family member to the next as they each lifted their utensils, laden with the delicacy to their mouths. Little Eimhin was the first to vocalize his opinion...*

*Eimhin tasted it and his eyes widened in response. Seconds later, the young boy was stuffing more food in his mouth and appeared to be inhaling it. He glanced up at Telarial, his face already messy with food and smiled*
"Mmm!"
*He resumed eating and at the rate he was chowing down, ended up spluttering and nearly choking.*

Lorcan, pausing with a bite of food hovering awaiting to be eaten in front of his mouth, adds his own, "Wait, a trip? Where to?" to the questions nearly everyone has asked in the wake of Faelan's statement about preparing to leave.
Leaning against the counter, a bemused smile appearing briefly before, just to drag out the suspense a moment longer, he takes a sip of his caf, Faelan finally satisfies everyone's curiosity when he says, "Agamar."
"Oh, right, Lorcan says, nodding as though he knew the answer all along. When do we . . ."
Interrupting his brother with a shake of his head, Faelan says, "Not you. Not this time."
"What? Why?"
"When I told Torin about all that has happened, Faelan nods subtly towards Eimhin and then Raine, he suggested that you and your family might appreciate a bit of time to . . ."
Waving his hands in a dismissive motion, Lorcan says, "Right, right. So, when are you and Tee leaving then?"
"Soon, Faelan answers, sipping his caf before looking towards Telarial and asking, So, are you excited?"

*Telarial nodded vigorously with a wide grin, her excitement clear for all to see.*
"Do you really have to ask that question? I get to go to a place I've never been!"
*Her smile soon faded as her expression changed into one of pensive pondering. She raised an eyebrow suspiciously and worded her question carefully.*
"Though something tells me this isn't going to be a vacation....am I right? You are taking me there to train, aren't you?"
*With a half-growl, half-sigh, she dramatically banged her forehead once against the table. Her next few words were a little muffled but clearly distinguishable.
"And to think that for a minute...I actually believed that you and I were going to have a father/daughter bonding time...."
*She raised her head to glance at Lorcan and Raine and gave them a small smile.*
"Well, at least the three of you won't go hungry while we're gone...there's a shatual* in the freezer chest outside from the other nigh---'
*With wide eyes, she clamped her mouth shut and froze when she realized her slip-up. She struggled to suppress a guilty laugh and lightly coughed instead, soon changing the subject in the hopes Faelan wouldn't pursue the matter. Her guilt would undoubtedly be plain to see for she refused to meet her buir's eyes and focused on the others.*
"Hey Lorcan...you better eat before your adiik eats whats left on the table!"

*Eimhin was completely oblivious to the adult conversation taking place. For one so young, the only thing the child cared about at this point in time, was eating. Once he finished his food, his face and hands messy again, he reached for the casserole dish but the big serving spoon was out of reach. He made cute, little whining and grunting noises and then proceeded a daring attempt to crawl across the table.*
