So, in the continuing struggle between the First Order and the Alliance, a new battlefield opens up. The Outer Rim world of Taris sits upon the border of the two warring factions. With no side holding control of this world, who will emerge victorious and push the border in their favour?
With the war underway, it's time to get some small skirmishes going. Taris is one such location where the First Order and the Alliance will clash. Given that no one is currently there, and there is a bit of space to work with, I think both sides should start with no major forces/control ground side. That way, we have a chance to come in on fairly even ground and there is a little something for everyone. As an added idea, maybe the Upper City will be more sympathetic to the First Order whilst the Under City sides more with the Alliance. That way some people could get some political intrigue going whilst others can blow some shit up.

The scope of this will be so far less than the scale of Dantooine thankfully. I spoke with some of the planners behind Garqi and Dantooine and we noticed the greater success of Garqi (simple raid, short storyline, nothing too large) compared to the sluggish Dantooine (which lasted for almost 2 years). So this is as the title says, gonna be a bunch of raids and skirmishes between our two sides, supported by citizens that are sympathetic.

I would also suggest putting someone in the 'Ref' Role, as that seems to be working well with Jabiim. Basically someone to step in if someone goes overboard or make quick decisions in situations where the two or more involved can't come to an agreement.

First Order: - Viox Savage - Admy/II
Alliance: - Victor Marshall
Still looking for some more interested participants on both sides. Once we even out the sides a little, we can get this thing rolling.

Just bumping this up. At least one more person for the Alliance would be nice to balance the sides out at the very least. 3 people per side would be a nice number I think.

sweet. any other takers on the First Order side?
Here are the rules as I'm envisioning them right now: - Personal Ground and Fleet Allowances - Head planet-side and set up a base of operations - First person to eliminate their opponents base will win - Alternative win conditions can include destroying the opponents fleet - Upper City is more likely to side with the First Order, whilst the Under City is more likely to side with the Alliance
If anyone has any other suggestions or would prefer some alternative rules, feel free to say so. Maybe we should allow larger fleets? Also, if anyone feels like this might be a little too broad, please feel free to chime in with some ideas for perhaps more specific targets.

First Order: - Viox Savage - Admy/II - Thrakk Valinor
Alliance: - Victor Marshall - Lieutenant Drez - Seleeven Khar (?)
Just checking to see if anyone has any suggestions or changes for the rules/victory conditions?

I think it might be a good idea to include a couple of possible objectives for people to focus on for the fighting. Maybe A capital building (upper levels), a major spaceport hub (Middle), & an industrial compound (lower). You wouldn't 'win' by holding them, but it would give a set place for the fighting to break out, & they might end provide bonuses if taken (Such as Industrial sending out teams with IEDs to target enemy vehicles, the Capital building rallying local militias to join in support, or the spaceport sending out limited close air support).

Well that would be interesting. Might have to drop the spaceport, since Taris doesn't have a Mid Level area. But the Upper and Lower level ones could certainly work.

If no one has any opposition, we good to get this started? People can drop in as they join.

Middle level being the border area between the two. Lots of access from both side, where the other two are more firmly in one or the other.

Important Message So, after reviewing a handful of posts on Taris... It appears that the planet is already firmly in FO hands. So as such, this Skirmish is going to be having a slightly different goal and purpose. For the Alliance it will be to overthrow the First Order government and claim Taris for the Alliance. For the First Order, it will be to repel the Alliance forces. The First Order will have more of an advantage because it is a First Order controlled location. The Alliance is going to have to come in at a disadvantage here, but won't change much of the game plan over all.

Since this is the case, and something I forgot, i will supply ground forces for the FO by having one of my corps deployed. The Alliance will gain something of value whether they win or lose, i can assure that.
