Noting Telarial's interest in the blaster rifle, Faelan considers purchasing it for her, but tells himself that he doesn't want to spoil her, discarding the notion. As he is purchasing it and arranging to have it delivered to his quarters so he can make it a surprise gift sometime later when Telarial excuses herself, Faelan tells himself that it is not really spoiling her to provide a practical item that she may find useful if the idea he has concerning a task suited to fulfilling some of the requirements of her Verd'goten.
Resting his elbows on a wall overlooking a pond surrounded by a decorative garden in a park near the outdoor market when Telarial returns, his expression briefly a somewhat pensive and brooding one as he thinks of how his riduur, who loved to garden, would have appreciated the park, Faelan smiles as his daughter joins him, asking her, "Is there anything else you would like to see or do in the city before we head back ad'ika?"

*Telarial was about to answer Faelan's question when loud shouting reached her ears. She saw on the other side of the pond, a man running with a satchel. A blonde haired woman was shrieking in rage as she chased him. She managed to tackle him and managed to wrest her bag from him. The woman crowed in triumph but ended up screaming when the man snarled and roughly shoved her into the pond and laughed. He held up a piece of jewelry, a silver bracelet up for her to see. He had obviously pick-pocketed it before she fell in. He grinned in triumph and gave her a short bow and then began to retreat believing he was going to make a successful getaway. He didn't see Faelan or Telarial in the vicinity and therefore remained ignorant to their presence. Telarial turned to Faelan with a worried expression.*
"Which would you prefer? Catch the thief--or rescue the damsel?" Telarial questioned with a silly grin.

Faelan, arching an eyebrow in a bemused fashion when asked which task he prefers to take on, assuming the answer would be obvious, and his light blue eyes narrowing as his expression darkens, replies simply, "You handle the rescuing ad'ika," as he lifts his buy'ce onto his head.
Contacting the Mando'ade forces tasked with policing the area to let them know they will need to take a thief into custody shortly, Falean runs after the thief, elbowing a shopper or two out of his way as he lifts his left arm and takes aim at the fleeing thief. Once he has lined up a clear shot, Falean fires the fibercord whip from his gauntlet at the thief's legs, smiling beneath his buy'ce as the whip wraps itself around the man's legs and grows taught, tripping the thief unceremoniously.
Walking to where the thief has sprawled on the sidewalk, his forehead bloodied from where it struck the ground when he was tripped, Falen steps on the man's hand as he reaches for the silver bracelet he dropped when falling. As the thief's fingers are crushed and broken beneath Faelan's boot, Faelan removes his KD-30 from its holster and points it at the thief's head as he growls, Stay down. Using eye movements and facial twitches to open a comm line to Telarial's buy'ce, Faelan keeps his hand on the thief's hand and his eyes on the man as he tells his daughter, The thief has been apprehended ad'ika. I assume you've rescued our damsel?

*Telarial rolled her eyes at her adopted father's retreating backside and muttered beneath her breath as she began jogging over to the drenched woman.*
"Show off."
*Of course Faelan chose to chase down the mugger. It would no doubt make him appear to be nothing less than a knight in shining armor. Typical.*

*The woman was grateful when a female Mandalorian was kind enough to come to her aid. She grasped the hand that was being offered to her and climbed the rest of the way out of the pond. She turned to look at the Mandalorian.*
"Thank you. It's not every day that I meet an upstanding bystander like yourself. What is your name?"

"My name is Telarial Bralor. And you are?"
*Telarial received Faelan's message and replied with a great degree of sarcastic amusement. Her voice filter was off so her communication remained private*
::No buir, I left the damsel in the pond to drown. I do believe she wishes to thank you in person for apprehending the thief.::
*She nodded to the woman standing across from her when she learned the damsel's name.*

Groaning in mild annoyance at the thought of having to deal with what he assumes will be a typical weak and foolish aruetii, Faelan mutters, Of course she does, and adds an aggrieved and resigned sigh as he quips, Maybe it would have been better if you'd left her to drown after all ad'ika, before telling Telarial, Tell the aruetii I'll be there one the thief is in custody. If she doesn't mind waiting that is, he adds in a hopeful tone, We wouldn't want to poor thing to catch cold while waiting, would we?
Once the local Mando'ade acting as the city's law enforcement agency arrive and take the thief into custody, Faelan holsters his Dissuader and, muttering all the while, makes his way over to where Telarial and her drenched damsel are waiting. Holding the silver bracelet the thief had taken from the aruetii, Faelan says dryly in his heavily accented Basic, I believe this is yours ma'am.

*The woman was relieved when Faelan returned her stolen bracelet and smiled. Her smile was soft and kind. And she had the rare quality to make just about anyone smile who beheld her own. She pulled her long, wet blonde hair behind her in a ponytail and wrung excess water out of it. She turned her full attention to the Mandalorian and gave him a small nod*
"Thank you, Mando'ade for returning what is mine. Why did you catch that thief? Most others would turn a blind eye...but not you."
*She peered at him searchingly and despite the fact the man was wearing his customary battle helmet and his face was obscured, she knew she was looking him in the eye regardless.*
"I don't condone putting another's life in jeopardy for my sake. How can I repay you?"

The idea that his life had been endangered at any point in his apprehension of the thief is so amusing that Faelan nearly laughs at the suggestion, only his innate stoicism preventing him from permitting himself to laugh as he lifts a hand as though to stave off any further suggestion that any repayment is required for his actions, Your gratitude is thanks enough, ma'am, and I assure you that my life was never in any danger. Like most Mando'ade, Faelan has little tolerance for those such as the thief that prey on those weaker than themselves, and the idea of accepting any compensation for meting out justice in such a situation is almost offensive; only his belief that an aruetii would not understand enough of his culture to know that offering to pay him for doing what he felt needed to be done could be taken as an insult preventing him from taking offense. Telarial's earlier comments about wanting to spend time together prevent, for the moment, Faelan from paying much heed to the woman's appearance or expressions, his focus instead on preventing the situation from interrupting his time with his daughter any more than it already has.
Believing that he knows enough of aruetiise to understand their concept of chivalry probably requires that he see the woman safely returned to her home, or if she is instead only a visitor to Agamar, to wherever she is staying, Falean asks, Can my daughter and I escort you home, or to where you are staying in the city, ma'am?

*The woman nods with a polite smile and begins to lead the way.*
"That's a kind offer. I am usually not fortunate enough to run into a masked man prone to chivalry."
*She winks at Telarial when Faelan is not looking, relieved to see that the young woman had already removed her buy'ce. She continued to walk through the marketplace and headed for the hotel district where she was temporarily staying. She begins to strike up a conversation with the Mandalorian man.*
"I feel I have been rude by disregarding customary introductions. My name is Delilah Johansen. I'm a mechanical engineer. I know I don't sound like one...I had an expensive education. My parents originally wanted me to pursue politics...that wasn't my scene."
*She stopped walking to look at the man.*
"What is your name? Judging by your accent...you must be from Mandalore. I've been there a few times as a mechanic for hire."

*Telarial grinned when she sensed through the force the woman's liking for Faelan...and was a bit disappointed when she realized that Faelan seemed ignorant to his own attraction to the woman. Telarial felt his conflict and had the feeling he was thinking more about her than about Delilah. She had to hold back laughter as she grabbed Faelan's arm and yanked him away from Delilah's side and shouted over her shoulder.*
"I just need to borrow him for a few minutes!"
*Once they were a good enough distance away that Delilah couldn't overhear their conversation, she grinned mischievously at Faelan and stammered out an excuse of why she had to spontaneously leave.*
"I have to go...uh...do that-that thing...that thing I said I was going to do! If I forgot to tell you...sorry...I really gotta go now...have fun with Delilah! We can spend time together later! I promise!"
*With those words Telarial ran off without giving Faelan the chance to reply and was giggling madly the whole way.*

Faelan smiles unseen beneath his buy'ce as the aruetii chatters away as they begin walking towards where she is staying in Calna Muun, amused as much by her description of him as a 'masked man' as he is by how open she is, sharing fact about herself ranging from a bit about her upbringing and her chosen vocation in the span of a few moments. Reticent and taciturn by nature, Faelan is not quite sure what to make of the aruetii, nor could he say as yet whether he finds her openness refreshingly endearing or simply odd.
Faelan Bralor, Faelan replies when asked for his name, confirming she was correct in her guess as to his homeworld with a simple nod. Knowing enough of aruetii culture to suspect that it might be perceived as impolite if he does not ask the woman questions to ensure the conversation continues to flow, Faelan is about to ask her about her experiences on Manda'yaim, which he hopes will give her plenty to babble away about so that he need worry only about nodding or perhaps grunting occasionally to show he is listening, but before he can do so Telarial yanks him away and is soon giggling away from him, abandoning him with the aruetii with a rather flimsy explanation as to why she does so.
Shaking his head as he returns to Delilah, Faelan apologizes, You will have to forgive my daughter, Miss Johansen, and then shrugs a shoulder as though to convey his lack of understanding of his daughter's behavior as he says, I'm not sure what came over her. Motioning with a hand to indicate that they should continue walking, Faelan asks, You have been to Mandalore you say? Was it to your liking?

"Delilah, please. I don't want to sound any older than I already am."
*She smiled with a teasing sparkle in her eyes. As they continued walking, she answered his question.*
"Oh, I've always enjoyed my trips out there. Believe it or not, but I was one of the engineers to design the new basilisk droid model. I think your leader sanctioned mass production. That was a few years ago." *She trailed off in thought.*

Grunting in an expression of interest that may or may not be interpreted as such, Faelan's curiosity about Deliah's work on the Basilisk war droids overcomes his usual reticence and as they continue walking he asks, I wasn't aware that the knowledge to create Bes'uliiks had survived, are the models you designed semi-sentient and capable of empathetic relationships with their riders just as those from the past were? Chuckling with a shake of his head as, having always wondered what it would have been like to have lived in the time when Bes'uliiks were not as rare as they have become and wondering if it is possible that they might have returned, in some fashion, to the universe thanks to Delilah's work, Faelan muses aloud, I would love to own a Bes'uliik, if those of today are anything like those of the past, and then falls silent briefly as his imagination runs away briefly with the thought of what it would be like to have the companionship of a Basilisk of old in battle.

*Delilah smiles at his barely concealed enthusiasm.*
"Why, yes. They are very much like the ones employed decades ago. While the old models were constructed and programmed to be semi-sentient, these new droids once bonded with an operator will be able to act independently but only if the warrior in question gave the command. They have the potential to be fully sentient. We've programmed these droids to learn from their operator. Safeguards have been installed so that both the operator and innocent lives will be spared..."
*Delilah paused and looked deeply into his eyes*
"Once bonded with an operator, the droid will be loyal, and will hardly leave your side...placing your safety above its own."
*She pulls out a picture of the new model and shows it to Faelan. Much of it resembles the war droids of old but now contains a more advanced arsenal of weaponry and has been clearly modified.*
"Are you still interested? I'm sure I can get you one. We have three prototypes in storage. They've been rigorously tested and passed every operations and safety drill in the book. Honestly, if you don't take one of them off my hands, I'm afraid they are just going to collect dust in some warehouse."

Listening with interest as Delilah explains her work on the new model of Basiliks she has helped design, Falean is glad that his buy'ce conceals the moment when his jaw drops after she says that she would be able to get him one of the three prototypes in storage. His reluctant hesitance is clear in his tone, however, when he shakes his head and says, That is too generous a gift, and then, adding with evident hope plain in his voice despite the synthetic sound of his voice the helmet's speakers give it, Though, perhaps there is a way I could pay for it? If not with credits, maybe field testing one of the prototypes and sharing my findings?

*Delilah grinned.*
"I assure you that payment is far from necessary. I can see you are a man of honor. And I have no doubt that you will take excellent care of the prototype."
*Her expression turned serious.*
"Faelan Bralor, I know we just met...but if it is okay with you, I would be honored to consider you as a friend."
*Suddenly a coy smile crossed her lips as she clearly thought of something*
"You know...if you are still adamant about payment, how about dinner this evening? I do have many questions in regards to your culture and your home world. Unless you are otherwise engaged..."
*Delilahs face fell, unable to conceal her potential disappointment should he decline her dinner offer*

Beneath his buy'ce, Faelan's expression brightens as Deliah's response to his proposed method of repayment for the prototype is decreed unnecessary, though he still insists, I will share my thoughts after working with the prototype all the same, as he assumes that any data he might provide will be of interest in order to make improvements the prototype might benefit from prior to going on to production.
Nodding when Deliah asks if he has no objection to being considered her friend, Faelan has little time to mull that thought over before she suggests that they have dinner together later that night. Hesitating due to his desire to spend as much time with Telarial as possible, as well as observant enough to note that Delilah's expression suggests that declining the offer would be a disappointment, Faelan ultimately elects to say, I am actually not sure yet that I am free this evening, but I would very much welcome the chance to dine together, if not this evening, then another more convenient to us both. If I could have your holonet address, he explains, thinking that it will be easy enough to determine if Telarial would feel slighted if he were to dine with Delilah rather than spend time with her, I can contact you once I have learned whether or not I am free this evening.

*Delilah smiles*
"Of course. I would be more than happy to receive a performance report. I will have the prototype delivered to your home on Mandalore. What is your address?"
*After getting his address she gives him hers and feels hope rising.*
"Of course. Here is my comlink frequency. I look forward to our next meeting."
*Holding out her hand for him to shake, she gives him a warm smile*

Returning Delilah's smile even though it goes unseen beneath his buy'ce, Faelan shakes her hand as he says, As do I. Bowing in a courtly fashion he has found to be suitable for most occasions involving aruetiise, Falean, having provided Delilah with his comlink frequency and holonet address after she had provided him with hers, says, I'll be in touch, and then takes his leave of her.
After arriving back at the government building that the Mandalorian forces occupying Agamar have taken as their base of operations, Faelan heads to Telarial's quarters and, once she has let him in, explains in a somewhat awkward and uncertain fashion, unsure whether or not she will feel as though their time together is being intruded upon by Delilah's dinner invitation, So, that aruetii woman you abandoned me with has invited us to dine with her this evening, since it was not explicitly stated that the invitation was for him alone and he feels like Telarial's presence will make the evening more endurable for all involved given that she is more talkative than he is, in addition to allowing him to spend time with his daughter as she has made it clear she wants to do. I didn't agree yet, he goes on quickly in case the idea does not appeal to Telarial, and we can always make it for another time if you'd rather we spend time together alone?
