Buf's poncho and number of pouches hid a lot, certainly plenty of space for one to conceal a lightsaber. But if one was concealed, none would be able to spot it at present. Buf kept his focus upon Yvaine, certain another barrage of questions was inbound, even as the young Prince playfully teased his sister. She was, it seemed, a very sociable person full of energy and curiosity about all things. He'd met people like that before. While others made fun of them, they also turned out to be some of the best commanders and strategists. They made sure they understood people and with it, came conclusions about how to make them do what you wanted. He waited patiently then as the next questions came, with the Empress once again curtailing the Princesses enthusiasm to manageable chunks I can't say I can really speak for the other Mandalorian Knights. It's been some time since I trained amongst their ranks, and the current iteration started by Mand'alor the Conservator undoubtedly holds differing views from the group I as apart of. I can only speak of my experience and views. But I am sure some of them certainly held similar views and beliefs to that of the Jedi. It can also be true that such entities within the Force exist... manifestations brought about from focus within various extremes of the Force... But such things carry their own inherent dangers, regardless of their alignment. A being composed wholly of Light cannot understand the Dark, just as a being of Dark cannot understand the Light... Things are further complicated when you consider that what one person considers good, can be considered evil by another. What is the saying... One person's freedom fighter, is another person's terrorist... The Princess seemed quite bright, and perhaps she had already heard such a saying before or had worked out the meaning behind such a saying without knowing the saying itself As for why I became a chef... Well... it's hard to say how much was me and how much was the influence of the Force. Perhaps a bit of both? The truth is that war is an ugly business... it takes a lot from you and gives very little, if anything, back. You kill someone because someone else was threatened by them or because some ruler wanted their land, and in return you get paid credits. But somethings can't be fixed with credits... Sure, you can get your leg healed or a bionic replacement for a missing limb. But it can't bring back the dead, the friends you lose... Nor can it wipe away the memories... Fighting and war is inevitable, but never be too eager to rush into them...

Fionnuala, talking with the Queen about how the members of the Royal Family that did not make the trip to Agamar are doing while they both eat, overhears some of what Buf and the young Princess talk about, and is surprised to learn that Buf had once been a Mandalorian Knight; though they have known one another casually for a while, they have never spoken much about their pasts.
Ife, sharing the last few bites of her meal with her family's pet Strill, Prudii, waits until Buf has finished answering the latest series of questions from Yvaine before, thinking she is saving him from another round, telling the Princess, "A'right, a'right, that's enough of the philosophy discussion, lil' Princess, giving Buf a conspiratorial wink as she tugs Yvaine by the hand and says, C'mon, I'll show ya our new E-11s, it's totally bada . . . awesome! Turning around and giving Buf and the others a wave, she says, Smell ya'all laters!"
Fionnuala, shaking her head with an amused smile, calls out to Ife and her sisters as they run off with the Princess in tow, "Don't forget about the game, make sure you're back in time for it to start, then explains to the Queen, We thought you'd enjoy a game of Meshgeroya later. You used to play, right?"

Before she has a chance to absorb everything that Buf says, much less respond to it, Yvaine finds herself being dragged away by Ife. Possessed of a memory that borders on the eidetic, Yvaine has little doubt that she will retain all that Buf has said in case she gets a chance to speak to him again. As her Mum tells Fionnuala that she played Limmie in her University days, mentioning that she was a center forward, Yvaine nods as Ife tells her about her new weapon, asking to sound interested even though weapons are not of any particular interest to her, "You guys aren't using the DC-17m IWS anymore?"
Remus, as Cian, Kieran and Colm urge him to come along so they can show him one of the Kom'rk fighters they are being trained to pilot, tells Buf, "Thank you for the meal and the show, sir," before heading off with the three Mandalorians, excited to see the starfighter and wondering if he can convince his Mother to let him try to pilot one while they are here on Agamar.

Before the next round of questions could begin, Ife practically drags the Princess away to admire their new guns. He gves a bow of his head to both the Princess and the Prince as they are pulled away to other things, before focusing his attention upon the Empress and Fionnuala. He ran the spatula's across the cooking surface, the harmonics of the metals against one another causing a pleasant ring to sound out Did the Empress enjoy herself? I can only hope my cooking was worthy of such royalty.

By way of answering Buf's question about how she enjoyed his cooking, Faina turns her bowl over enough that he can see it has been all but licked clean, smiling as she tells him, "The Empress did indeed enjoy herself, and I believe it is quite safe to say that your cooking was more than worthy. I'd be tempted to steal you away with us when we return to Corsucant, she jokes and glances towards Fionnuala as she continues, but Ver'alor Priest here tells me she would never allow herself to be deprived of your cooking, so, alas, I fear it is not to be."
Tempted as she is to follow up on the discussion that Yvaine had started with Buf, always interested to learn more of how other cultures or orders view the Force, Faina has always been more comfortable listening and observing than initiating such conversations, and so sticks instead to less potentially loaded subjects and asks, "Will you be joining us for the Meshgeroya game?"

He gave the bowl a quick cursory inspection as it was presented to him, a smile forming behind his mask. He chuckled as he turned his visor toward the Morganian female, nodding in agreement with the Empresses statement Yes, I have all but formally sealed a riduurok with the honoured Ver'alor, but alas she continues to play hard to get. But watch, my life will be endangered when I eventually tell her I must leave Agamar... The nature of his work meant he had never truly settled anywhere. He might stay somewhere for a long time, but it was only long enough to hit certain profit targets and spread his name. His focus shifted back to the Empress then as she asked after his participation in Meshgeroya I'm afraid not. Fionnuala has kindly offered me a deck of sabacc cards to keep the Princess entertained with, however. Contests of the mind are much more my speed these days.

Faina laughs merrily when Buf explains that he has almost formally sealed a love bond with Fionnuala, looking over to see what the Morganian's reaction to the claim will be and anticipating from the two's previous interactions that it is sure to be amusing, but the Ver'alor has been pulled aside by a pair of Mandalorians and is discussing something with them, so she turns back to Buf and smiles as she nods in agreement, "Oh, I have no doubt whatsoever that you will be in the gravest of danger when you reveal your intent to leave Agamar and deprive the honored Ver'alor of your presence."
Nodding when Buf explains that he will not be joining in the bolo-ball, and will instead be entertaining Yvaine with the sabacc cards that he has been provided with, "That is very thoughtful of both you and Fionnuala, explaining, The Princess shares your preference for contests of the mind, and I am sure that she will enjoy both your company and the contest far more than she would enjoy running around with the rest of us on the field." Yvaine is not averse to athletics, actually enjoying, or claiming to enjoy, the lightsaber and hand to hand combat training that accompanies her other training with the Imperial Knights; though Faina can already tell that neither of her youngest children are interested in pursuing a career in the Order she serves as it's Grandmaster, with Remus being far more passionate about the navy and piloting while Yvaine seems more interested in her academic pursuits.

Perhaps I may be in need of the Empresses protection when I do so... It may, in fact, be wiser to leave with you than to risk my life leaving alone... He chuckled, certain his life would not be in so great a danger as he made out. Fionnuala as lovely and could put on a tough front when needed or wanted, but he new she would never hurt him... maybe... he hoped Oh, all credit for that idea lays with Fionnuala, She came up with it. I merely volunteered to play some cards. It will present a good chance for the Princess and myself to continue our prior conversation. An unexpected but happy coincidence. We each have things we are more built for, and it is into these strengths we should lean and encourage others to do so as well.

Fionnuala, returning to the conversation between Buf and the Empress in time to hear the former tell the latter something about leaving with her, puts a hand over her heart after Buf has expressed how he looks forward to his cards and conversation with the Princess as she puts on a theatrically shocked and anguished expression and adds a sob to her tone to complete the act, "Gar cuyir shukur ner kar'ta, vod. * Tilting her head to the side and giving the Empress a playfully betrayed expression, she switches to Basic as she says, I should have known better than to leave such a charming beauty alone with poor Buf. How could he help but succumb . . . waving her hand around and cracking up, unable to keep up the act much longer, the Morganian says, Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I mean, pffft, like Buf could ever leave me, she says, then tilts her head to the side and arches an eyebrow as she asks Buf with theatrical concern, Rejorhaa'ir ni gar draar ru'kel." **
Laughing with a shake of her head, Fionnuala tells Faina, "The cards idea was a joint idea, don't let his disarmingly charming modesty fool you. Speaking of games, Fionnuala looks around to see how close everyone is to finishing their meals and seeing that the Mandalorians that will be playing Meshgeroya have started to gather near the clearing the game will be played in, some already practicing kicks and headers, ours should be starting soon, so I'll send someone off to collect the kids, motioning for Eimhear to do just that as she grins mischievously and tells Faina, Remember now, no Force powers allowed, Empress. And don't think we'll go easy on you just because your our guest."
* You are breaking my heart ** Tell me you never would

Even though her Mando'a is not perfect, Faina understands it well enough to follow most of what Fionnuala tells Buf to laugh, though the laugh is concealed beneath her palm as she pretends to stroke her cheek in thought. Giving Buf a subtle wink after the Morganian has finished by asking that Buf tell her that he could never leave her, Faina pats Fionnuala on the shoulder and says, “I'm sure you're right."
Smiling with an amused arch of her eyebrow after Fionnuala reminds her that Force powers are not allowed in the bolo-ball game they will be playing soon, Faina jokes, "Oh, don't worry, I wouldn't want you to have my Force powers to use as an excuse when our team beats yours. As it is the first time she will be playing bolo-ball with the Mandalorians, Faina asks, Are there any other rules I should know about? Will we be wearing our armor, or should I go and change?"

He let out a laugh at Fionnuala's reaction as she rejoined the conversation. He reached over the grill and clasped both of her hands in his own and pressed them together I would never break your heart so, Cyare. Ni cuy' riduurok at gar, sa gar cuyir riduurok at ni* He let go of her hands then and rustled up a quick savoury snack from a container and offered it to Fionnuala and Faina as the pair spoke about their game and the agreed upon rules I suppose I should establish a similar such rule for my card game with the Princess...

Fionnuala laughs merrily after Buf declares that they are now bound to one another, placing her hands over her heart as she jokes in a breathy voice accompanied by the fluttering of her eyelids, "Jii Ni liser ash'amur briikase. * Turning to Faina, Fionnuala gives the Empress a triumphant smile as she says teasingly, Told ya so. Taking a bite of the savory snack Buf had rustled up, Fionnuala nods when he says he should probably make the no Force powers clause a thing for his card game with the Princess, agreeing, Jate dajun ," ** and then giggling as she imagines what a sabacc game between two Force users might look like.
After the Empress asks about the dress code for the Meshgeroya game after talking a bit of smack, Fionnuala grins as she jokes back, "I love your misplaced confidence, Your Highnessness, it is really cute, and then explains, No other rules, and no armor, we usually just play in our flightsuits, so, she pats Faina's elbow to indicate the black garment she wears under her armor, that will be just fine unless you'd be more comfortable in something else."
* Now I can die happy ** Good plan

She was good, Buf could not deny that. It was temptation enough for anyone to fall for her and even consider forsaking certain vows taken. He tapped his bucket a few moments later as Fionnuala then went on to explain the rules and outfit typical for a Meshgeroya game Another reason I'm sitting this one out. The bucket stays on...

Faina chuckles when Fionnuala calls her confidence misplaced, arching an eyebrow as she quips teasingly, "We'll soon see just how misplaced you find it, won't we? After the Morganian has explained the rules, or rather apparent lack thereof other than no armor and no Force powers, Faina says, I'll see you on the field, and then, after accepting the offered snack from Buf and offering her opinion, Yummy!" on its taste, heads over to where she spots the Mandalorians that will be playing or watching the bolo-ball are gathered.
Her armored mesh suit beneath her red Imperial Knight armor is similar enough in style to the flight suits the Mandalorians wear beneath their beskar'gam, and offers enough freedom of movement that she sees no point in changing into anything else, and so Faina, after seeing where the Mando's that will be playing have set their armor, removes her own and places it with the multi-hued sets of beskar'gam.
Spotting her self-appointed personal guards among the Mando's that will be spectating, Faina makes her way over to them and asks in a tone of commingled amusement and incredulity, "Neither of you are playing?"
"Never played," Nechama says with an apologetic shrug.
"Bum knee, Voshkie claims despite never having evinced or espoused such an injury before she had watched the Mandalorians practicing and, seeing how hard they tackle one another when just rehearsing for the game to come, decided to use it as an excuse to avoid risking an actual injury. Giving Faina two thumbs up, she smiles and says, You have fun though! Adding a fist pump she says, Represent!"

After the Empress bats back the smack talk with admirable aplomb, Fionnuala tells Buf with a theatrical dreamy sigh after he has explained that keeping his buy'ce on is another reason he won't be playing Meshgeroya, "Ner jag be birov ranov'la, waving to the Empress as she goes off before telling Buf in an overly dramatic tone as she walks away from him backwards, Meg vurel gar vaabir cuyir oyayc, Ni kelir mar'eyir gar," * blowing him a kiss before turning around and skipping off to the clearing to remove her beskar'gam to get ready for the game.
The colorful floral tattoos on her neck and arms, seldom seen as she is not often seen without her beskar'gam and has rolled the sleeves of her gray reinforced armor mesh flight suit up past her elbows, Fionnuala tightens the band securing her blonde dreadlocks in a ponytail as she walks over to Faina and says, "We'll pick our teams once the kids show up, grinning as she explains, You and I will be the team captains."

He moved his hand up into the air to make a gesture of catching the blown kiss and pulling it to the iron heart upon his chest Wouldn't dream of doing anything else! Buf fetched the grill cover then and placed it back on to provide a surface upon which cards could be played. While he waited for the Princess to return, he started working through cleaning up the stall, in case his services would be required once again for dinner. He also made such ingredients were ready to go once the Rancor mounted Imperial Knight Witch would return in need of a meal

Remus, after he and his three Mandalorian friends are herded off of the Kom'rk the trio had been showing him around and to the field where the bolo-ball game will be played, runs over to Faina and asks excitedly, "Can I get a Kom'rk for my birthday this year?"
After Ife, Ige and Ime deposit her back with Buf and then scamper off to the field, Yvaine clambers over the counter as he is cleaning and cheerfully asks him, "Need any help? Thinking she is being helpful, Yvaine starts putting away the ingredients he had just taken out for Mavera as, predictably for those that know her well, she starts taking advantage of the fact no one is around to count her questions and begins tossing them out at a rapid fire clip as though afraid someone will show up and start counting her questions any minute, How did the views of your group and the one Mand'alor the Conservator started differ? When you said it could be true that entities in the Force could exist, did you mean Ashla and Bogan, or something else? Do you believe in them, or in any other entities? Breaking off from her questions for a moment, she says, I don't think there are any, personally. I think the Force no more has a will or an embodiment of any of its characteristics than nature does. I think that's just an example of the need for most sentient species to anthropomorphize everything, you know? Oh, she resumes her questions without much more than a very brief pause to take a breath, when you say you were in wars, was it as a mercenary, or as part of a Clan's military, like Fionnuala fighting in Clan Bralor's military? Talking about Fionnuala reminds her of another question about the way Mandalorian Clans work, and so she tilts her head to the side at an inquisitive angle and asks it, What does it mean when someone from a clan says they are of a House that has another clan name? Fionnuala is from Clan Priest, right, but also from House Bralor. How does that work? Is she a part of both Clans, or does being in a House make you a part of that Clan?"
Finally out of breath enough to take a longer than usual pause, Yvaine gives Buf a window of opportunity to reply to as many questions as he can before she inevitably starts asking more.

Smiling in amusement when Remus asks for a Kom'rk for his birthday, Faina pretends to seriously consider it for a moment before using the ever popular excuse, "We'll have to ask your father, as a way to set the question aside for another time, and then ruffles his red hair as she asks playfully, Are you ready to help mommy show these Mandalorians how bolo-ball is meant to be played?"
Remus nods, then waves to Fionnuala when he spots her not too far away as he asks, "Are we going to be on the same team though? Colm said you and Fionnuala will be picking their teams, what if she . . ."
"I hadn't thought of that, Faina admits with a smile, then reassures him, You will be my very first pick though, so don't w. . ."
"If she doesn't pick me first," Remus points out as they walk over to Fionnuala and wait to solve the mystery of who will be picking their first teammate first.

Fionnuala, deciding that as the captain of home team she should have the honor of the first choice of teammates, pokes her tongue out at the Empress as she says, "I pick Prince Delvardus, and then hugs him once he comes over and asks in her unique variation on what she had overheard Faina asking him, Are you ready to kick your mom's shebs, little buddy?"
For her next choice, Fionnuala takes the triplets Ife, Ime and Ige since they are inseparable and would not stand for not being on the same team. On and on it goes until she and Faina have each selected their ten team members, after which they are given a few moments to decide which positions they will be playing, form strategies if they like, or even make motivational speeches.
Fionnuala would like to be facing the Empress on the field, but as she is a better goalkeeper than anyone else on her team, decides to stick with that position and settle for denying the former center forward as many goals as she can keep her from scoring. Making Remus one of her fullbacks in the hopes the Empress will be less aggressive with her son than she might be with other players, Fionnuala makes the triplets three of her four midfielders, Ife a force to be reckoned with as a center midfielder when she has her sisters as her right and left wingers drawing out the opposing teams defenders to make room for Ife to move in the center.
Once she has assigned her team their positions, Fionnuala gives them her strategy as they move onto the field, which also serves as her motivational speech, "Duumir mhi muun'bajir!" *
* Let's kick ass!

That won't be necessary...But his declination was already much too late as he turned and found her offer for help was more akin to a statement. He picked the Princess up then and sat her on a bar stool before retrieving the items she had put away again as he endured the incoming rapid fire of questions. He pulled out a pack of cards from a pocket then and passes them to her to begin setting upI never interacted with the group Mand'alor the Conservator started, so it would be wrong of me to make assumptions about them. But the sect I joined tried to fuse the resol'nare with teachings pulled from a number of different Force Wielding Order's, to various degrees of success...He finished setting out the items ready for use, before moving over to where he had sat the Princess, waiting for her to finish setting up the card game and offering help where neededAshla, Bogan, Bendu, The Ones... I've read enough history and seen plenty of things in my time which would not discount their existence as possible. Are they exactly the god-like beings that various groups claim them to be? Doubtful. It's more likely to be they are just very powerful Force Users that existed and their stories have just become... exaggerated. The Myth of a person or thing is almost always more exciting than the truth...Once the cards were shuffled and the play area prepared, Buf dealt the opening hands to each of them and studied his cardsAs to my time spent fighting wars... it was primarily as a Mercenary, yes. Mostly in part due to the circumstances of the time. Not all of our people's leaders have been as accepting of Force Sensitives as Mand'alor the Architect and his successors have been...His opening pair of cards were not great, totalling 8. But he would still play itAliit politics can be... complicated sometimes. Clan's do not have specific size requirements, some can be a single person, others can have hundreds, if not thousands of members. They can also share a Clan Name or they can have different Clan names but still be of the same overall Clan... Hmm... think of it like you own family. Whilst you have the Delvardus last name, you may have a cousin or Uncle or Aunt with a different family name. But they would still be considered Delvardus', even if their last name changed. It's a similar concept amongst the Mandalorians. Some, like myself, are part of Clan Fett and thus "House" Fett, whereas someone like Fionnuala is part of Clan Priest, but they have allegiance or family bonds with "House" Bralor. How their partnership works in terms of Clan membership... Varies greatly. Some Clan's allow their name to be used by smaller Clan's, whilst some smaller Clan's refuse to give up their own names. At a guess? I'd say she is part of both Clan's, so long as their interests remain the same of course...
